Dueling With BRAND NEW Decks From 2005 In Master Duel! | Childhood Yugioh EP27

Video summary

In the twenty-seventh episode of "Childhood Yu-Gi-Oh," set in January 2005, hosts Kyle and Ruxen engage in a simulated duel using brand new Structure Decks from that era within Master Duel. The match pits Kyle's Zombie deck against Ruxen's Red-Eyes Dragon (Dragon's Roar) archetype, with the episode introducing bonus packs of *Rise of Destiny* and *Flaming Eternity* as compensation for previous losses rather than utilizing a punishment wheel. Before the duel begins, there is some humorous deliberation over their choices; one host initially claimed both options before settling on the Zombie deck to secure future "Book of Life" cards needed for an Armored Dragon Level 3 strategy, while they also debated including *Blackluster Soldier: Envoy of the Beginning* but ultimately decided against it in favor of obtaining a banned copy of *Mirror Force*. The gameplay highlights distinct strategic differences between the two archetypes and specific card interactions from the time. Kyle leverages Vampire Lord effects combined with graveyard recursion using cards like Despair from the Dark, while Ruxen struggles to summon his Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon due to complex tribute requirements involving Black Dragon's Chick. Both players rely heavily on *Reckless Greed* for consistent card advantage and utilize tools like Snatch Steel to steal opponent resources, though Kyle notes that the Zombie deck offers solid support with multiple copies of Stamping Destruction and Call of the Mummy compared to what feels more restrictive summon conditions in the Dragon format. The duel also touches upon reprint choices from these sets, such as including two copies of Creature Swap or Interdimensional Matter Transporter versus missing out on cards like Seven Tools. The match remains competitive throughout but concludes decisively with Ruxen emerging victorious by overwhelming Kyle with multiple high-attack monsters, specifically Masked Dragon and Armadillo Dragon. This victory is attributed to the format's lack of effective field wipes at the time, allowing Ruxen to capitalize on his board presence before Kyle could stabilize or execute a comeback using graveyard recursion strategies. The episode serves as both a nostalgic look back at 2005 meta-defining cards like Pyramid Turtle and Mystical Space Typhoon and a critique of specific deck-building decisions that defined early Master Duel environments, setting the stage for future discussions on upcoming releases in 2025 which include rare pulls from *Flaming Eternity*.

Do you remember the good old days of Yu-Gi-Oh? Back when you'd bust out your favorite stack of cards at the playground to have legendary duels without a care for a ban list? Back before cards had an entire encyclopedia of text on them? Well, we do. So much so that we're going back to that time right now. In this series, myself and Quick Panic will be traveling back to the year 2002. We will each start with a starter deck available during that time. Each episode, we will spin two wheels, the event wheel and the punishment wheel. These two wheels will simulate our lives as kids in the early 2000s and in doing so will change our decks in different ways. Excited to relive the early days of Yu-Gi-Oh. Welcome to Childhood Yu-Gi-Oh. Hello everyone. Welcome back to Childhood Yu-Gi-Oh. [music] And today we have a special structure deck release. So we're doing another episode where we're playing structure deck versus structure deck. But that doesn't mean that we don't get the event wheel. So first we're going to spin the event wheel. Then I'm going to open my product for losing locals last week. and then we're going to check out the structure deck that I'm going to use. So, we are currently in January of 2005. We just entered 2005, which is pretty cool. And our cousin just quit Yu-Gi-Oh. This is actually right close to where I quit Yu-Gi-Oh. I quit Yu-Gi-Oh in the next year. So, we got one more good year left of me. Cousin quits Yu-Gi-Oh. Attain one ultra rare card. Oh, this is big. Thank you, cousin, for quitting Yu-Gi-Oh. Okay, what set are we on? Can I get a BLS because I can I can be so back. This master M master collection is not really a set so I don't think that counts. Dark Beginning is a set though it is a reprint. It's a full set. Soul Soul the duelist. So yes, Invasion of Chaos is allowed. Now here's the problem with me getting BL there. There's a big there's a big yes. I need to be, you know, try to make my deck better, you know, and compete with his BLS. Problem is then we're both just playing BLS all the time. So that kind of sucks, but I mean it's really not going to be legal that much longer. So honestly, I probably need to tick a rabbit. >> What's kicking duelist? Welcome back to Childhood Yu-Gi-Oh! the only Yu-Gi-Oh series on YouTube that is part of a complete balanced breakfast. Today, we are delving into some brand new structure decks. And since the beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh, we've only ever had starter decks, which were just collections of cards used by characters you knew. And now we're actually going to play some decks that have some cohesive strategy. We have a zombie deck and we have a dragon deck. Rxen and I have decided that we are going to choose one of each deck and that's what we're playing with today to simulate what it was like to just pick up one of these and try to go to a tournament. I'm going to be running the zombie deck because I love zombies and Ruxen is on dragons. The card lists are pretty cool. But before we get into those, there's no punishment wheel. I'm safe today. But we are going to spin a little little bonus wheel so we can buff out the collection maybe for the next episode. And I have some tournament packs to open. and then we'll get into the deck and talk about the strategy. All right, fun wheel time. Let's see. Let's see what can we add to the collection. Something cool. Oh, actually, yes. Okay, so technically, you know, the next set is going to be what we open in the next episode. I don't get to use these ahead of time, but I do get three bonus packs of, I believe, Rise of Destiny. Uh, so we get to throw those into the pile, and we're going to do a little of pack opening. >> Hey, you. Yeah. You watching this, you like Yu-Gi-Oh cards, right? Yeah. You talking to me? Yeah, I'm talking to you. You love Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I know you do. You're watching this channel. I'm actually more of a Pokemon. No, you're not. Stop. I don't give me that Pokemon stuff. Okay. And if you like Yu-Gi-Oh cards, you're going to love what I'm saying next. No, seriously. Like, Trio, Toadile, I love all those guys. You stop interrupting me. I have something to say. Oh, my bad. I just really like Pokémon Emerald. Is there something wrong with that? >> Yes, there is something wrong with that. I'm trying to talk about this Friday's whatnot stream at 3 p.m. Central where I'm going to be selling first edition Yu-Gi-Oh cards including ultra rare original print cards, ghost rare cards, ultimate rare cards, and I'm also giving away crazy cards like that as well. And you keep talking about Pokémon. So, if you're a true Yu-Gi-Oh fan, unlike this guy over here, oh, come on, man. Then you're going to want to be there this Friday at 3 p.m. Central where I will be giving away vintage Yu-Gi-Oh cards, selling vintage Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and other crazy stuff that you're going to love as well. And yes, the sevenpack $20 bundles are still available. And if you're a new user, you get the $15 free credit. So 20 minus 15 is $5 plus shipping for seven packs. And then you're going to get an eighth bonus pack of Chaos Origins as well. So eight packs for only $5 plus shipping. You don't want to miss that crazy deal. So I'll see you guys this Friday, 300 p.m. Central on whatnot. It's going to be crazy. Okay, so let's go through my options I've thought of. So in Metal Raiders, I can go all the way back to, you know, forever ago and get a Mirror Force, which I love Mirror Force. and I don't think it ever gets fully banned. So, it will be a playable card for pretty much ever, you know, forever, which is awesome. Then there is Pharaoh servant, which has called the haunted, which neither of us have, which is pretty cool. Now, I say that, but I'm actually getting it today in structure deck, Dragon's Roar. We are adding it to our deck, so I don't need to get Call the Haunted, so that's a no. Magicians Force, this is something Kyle has two of. Breaker the magical warrior. I do love Breaker. I also don't think this one gets fully banned. It is limited for a long time, but it's a really nice card. Then there is, of course, BLS. Okay, this feels like, oh, you got to get BLS, right? And I probably should because Locals episodes exist, but if you check the ban list in October of this year, we're in January right now. Between now and when it gets banned, there are, not counting today because we can't use it, seven more episodes. And obviously some of those are playground and and one of those is a deck episode. So really there's six more episodes after that it's banned and can only be used in the playground. So am I going to pick something that's going to get banned that fast and also is it's going to shape a lot of our deck building to be you know chaos related light and dark which while is very cool and uh represents really well. I don't know that it's that fun. And if I don't pick this I'm not allowed to complain about BLS anymore. So that's going to really take away my card of complaining which sucks. So it's a really tough choice. I think Breaker is not the choice because while it it I say that it's a pretty good one, I really just want a mirror force. I'm not going to lie. Okay, I just reminded myself of a big reason not to pick the breaker because it comes out in master collection 2 this year as a promo and we're going to be opening multiple of those. So, we're going to have multiple [music] breakers. So, I'm going to miss goat format with it, but that is a very few episodes away. It's completely free. Same thing with Blackluster Soldier. also a promo card. So, that comes out in Master Collection in October of 2005. I believe that's the date. Okay, now that I've looked at all of that, since we're getting the other two, I'm actually going to go back and take one of my favorite cards, Mirror Force. I have to survive a few more episodes of BLS, but then we're both going to have like three of them, and the playground episodes are just going to be chaos. Like absolute invasion of chaos, you might even say. >> Okay, next set is actually Flaming Eternity. So, I'm going to get three of those packs. I don't know why I forgot Rise of Destiny. Probably because I didn't pull anything good from that set. But before we get into the pack opening, let's go over the strategies that are going to be available to us today. Uh Ruxen is going to be running a Red Eyes deck. He gets Red Eyes Darkness Dragon. This is the card on the front of the box, and it allows you to uh get a bigger Red Eyes. It It really doesn't do very much. Um, it gets like 300 attack points, exactly 300 attack points for each dragon monster in your own graveyard. You don't even get a bonus for your opponent. Um, he will get a copy of Twin Headed Behemoth, which I don't think either of us have had, which kind of just like revives itself at some point. He's going to get a couple copies of the Armed Dragon suite, uh, which we featured a couple episodes ago. Uh, as well as Black Dragon's Chick, which will let him special summon out that I think he only gets one Red Eyes in the deck. Element Dragon. Mass Dragon. I mean, Mass Dragon's pretty cool. Element Dragon's not great. Ruxen gets a second copy of Snatch Steel. So, yippee. Uh, we're going to get another copy of Mystical Space Typhoon. Both. Uh, no, a crossout, Premature Burial, Swords Revealing Light Pod. Agreed. As you can see, the cards that are available in this set have a nice little suite of cards that work well together, like the dragon monsters here, and then a bunch of good staples. This was pretty cool because reprints for Snatch Steel and Mystical Space Typhoon, Premature Burial, these were huge. These cards were super rares, ultra rares, and you know, a little bit expensive, especially for kids. Uh, we do see a couple of cards that work with the monster strategy that is available in the deck for Ruxen. He's getting stamping destruction, graveyard in the fourth dimension, which is pretty cool because it lets him reuse his two little level monsters. And then he gets a copy of Call the Haunted that I don't. This part kind of stinks because Call the Haunted is incredible. Um, but a couple more dragon cards and uh, Reckless Greed, Curse Anubis. So, a lot of good reprints in these structure decks. Now, what I'm playing with is my favorite uh, Zombies. And Vampire Genesis is way better than the Red Eyes strategy because this one gets to be special summoned by banishing a Vampire Lord, which we have a couple of cards that help us tutor him out. And you get to revive a zombie from your graveyard. All you got to do is pitch a zombie which want to be in the graveyard anyway and then you get to special summon one that has a level smaller than the one that you discarded. Pretty cool. Um, we have a couple of zombie monsters. Vampire Lord gets a reprint here, which is huge. Um, so now I have two just like Rxen. Uh, this is also cool because this was a very expensive card back in the day. Everybody was running one. Uh, I'm going to get Pyramid Turtle, Spear Reaper, pretty huge. Uh, Despair from the Dark, Ryu Koki. These are a bunch of good monsters that I get to special summon out with a pretty cool spell card that we're going to get to uh house today, which is Call of the Mummy. We can also special summon them with Book of Life if we are discarding them for other effects. You saw that we get Card of Safe return for turn. That's pretty huge. Uh Potigreed, nobleman, another giant trrenade. I think this makes three for me. Uh third mystical space typhoon. I get my own snatch steel. So how funny is it now, huh? Yeah, I get my own snatch steel. That's pretty cool. Getting into the traps. I do uh add a third copy of Dust Tornado to the collection which is huge. A second Torrential Tribute which is massive especially for Playground episodes. Um and then Compulse, Reckless Greed, Magic Jammer. Those are cards we already have in the collection, but they uh they fill out the deck pretty nicely. >> All right, now we look at what we actually got, which is pretty sick. I think we can actually open this. So, let's just go ahead and do that. Let's go to the uh Dragons Roar. Yeah, we can open it up instead of go through the card list, which is pretty cool. And we can also do tournament packs. So, let's open our tournament pack and let's see what we get. So, let's start with the tournament pack. This is what we get for losing last week. Yay. Congrats to me. Uh, that's amazing. That looks exactly like the cards I was playing and the reason I lost. So, uh, let's open the next one. Oh, wait. Stay. Wait. We got to We got to save those. Those are very important. Next product. Okay. Kyle is the zombie guy from back in the day. So, I had to let him have the zombie deck. Though, it hurt cuz I I would consider myself a zombie guy, too. I just didn't play as much back in the day. But uh he is uh definitely the zombie guy, so we had to take it. Let's see what we get. So inside this deck, we get the Red Eyes Darkness Dragon, which is the cover card. We're going to be playing with these full decks against each other, so I'm going to be using the Red Eyes Darkness Dragon, Curse of Anubis, Trap Jammer, Two Interdimensional Matter Transporter for some reason, Reckless Greed, Dragons Re uh Dragon's Rage. We got the Call of the Haunted, that's huge. Another creature swap. That's I think four of them for me. There's two of them in here. I don't even need those, which is unfortunate. Heavy Storm, Pot of Greed, Primat number two is good. Two more nobleman. So, I think I have three of those. There's Snatch Steel. Wait, does his have snatch Steel as well? Cuz now he can celebrate and have his snatch deal and stop whining about it every episode. Come on, Kyle. You got your snatch deal now. You happy? All right. MST. We got uh mass dragons. We got uh arm dragons. The twined behemoth is cool. A regular red eyes. Really the big stuff we're getting cuz I have pretty much all the stuff. The second one of those is big. That's huge. second snatch deal for um when we're doing uh playground is going to be crazy. Having three noblemen is not bad either, but it is limited right now. Heavy storm, we got plenty of those. And uh that's pretty much all you need to see. I mean, a couple other nice cards like Reckless Greed and Curse of Anubis, but this should be a pretty goofy episode. I assume that the zombie deck is going to be better uh just cuz Pyramid Turtles and it's just a little bit more synergistic. But if we can get out our armed dragon stuff could be pretty good. You know, that that's a pretty big guy. I would love to summon the Red Eyes Darkness Dragon as well. So, let me go put this in master duel. We're going to get going. I'm super hyped to have a mirror force now, though. I I'm very happy cuz there's no guaranteed mirror forces in structure decks until like 2015. And we'd have to pull it out of DB2. And even if we do, we can have two of them, which would be totally fine with me. All right, into the packs. I'm going to go ahead and grab one of these decks. And then I'm going to go ahead and grab three copies of tournament pack five. Um, I'm still trying to get a Kaiu from here. Ruxen used a super rare reward on this. we can just like get a rare one and that'd be pretty cool. And then we get three packs of flaming eternity. Like I said, we don't get to do anything with these right now, but uh Sacred Phoenix of Nephus is an actual card that you can play. Phoenix Wingwin Blast is a pretty influential card at some points in the uh history of Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. So, it'll be cool to uh just delve in there a little bit and get three bonus packs that Ruxen doesn't. So, let's open them up. And uh we already know what's in the zombie deck. Just going to flip them up. And uh it's everything we just went over. So, oh, actually, there's a couple copies of each. Wait, there's three Compulse. Hold on, hold on. This kind of changes things. Two Call the Mummy, two Book of Life. Uh, we get two regenerating mummy, two Ryu Koki, two Respare, Despair from the Dark, three Pyramid Turtle. Oh, I don't know why. I just thought it was one of every card, which wouldn't have been 40 cards. This is going to be really fun, actually. I wonder what Proxen got extra copies of. All right, we're saving those to the collection. Uh, let's get into tournament pack five. See if I can pull a singular. I just want one Kaiiku. Uh, another Book of Life, which actually is good. I don't think I had enough for my strategy. Next up, we've got Wait, do I have three Book of Life now? Last pack and a Kaiku. You're not guaranteed rares in these. I got two Book of Life and a Kaiku. That is huge. Wow. Okay, what a good day to be me. And then Flaming Eternity. Like I said, we're not going to use these in the deck today. Um, but let's just see what we're in store for next week and get our bonus packs. Lightning Vortex is crazy. If you if you haven't been following along with the ban list, um, Ryeki and Dark Hole are banned. So, this would have been one of the big cards that we definitely wanted to pull. This is crazy. Okay, next pack. Uh, Meteor of Destruction. Wait, did I get those back to back? Okay. Um, hex sealed fusion. The hex seed sealed fusion cards are something that we saw in a strategy with like dragons back in the day. So, you could get like I think there's a fusion with Lord of D in this set. That could be something to play around with. And the last pack. Did I get what? Why? We did get two rescue cats. So, um Ooh. in threating roar. That's going to be huge. Okay, we don't really have to do a deck profile. I've already gone over it, but uh let's get into the duel. See how it goes. Who's going to win? Zombies or dragons? Okay, here is our deck, which uh if you look at it, there's a lot of amazing staples in here. There is a problem. There are only 14 monsters. We have a guy that's very hard to summon. We have to special summon by tributing Red Eyes Black Dragon. That's going to be tough to pull off cuz Red Eyes is a vanilla. We can get it out by special summoning it with Red Eyes Black Chick or Red Eyes Be Chick now Black Dragon's Chick. So, if these three cards are in our hand, we summon black dragon's chick. We special summon red eyes by tributing the black dragon's chick. Then we have to special summon red eyes darkness dragon by tributing the red eyes. So, it's a three [music] card combo for a guy that's 2400, 300 attack for each dragon monster in our graveyard. So, minimum, you know, these two are going to go to the graveyard. It'll be 3k, but that's its only effect. So, very hard to get out just to get a blue- eyesed white dragon and that could get a little bit stronger. Then we got the level fives and the level threes. So the level threes float into the level fives is 2400. These guys are not summonable on their own. So we do have four, you know, tribute summons that, you know, can come out in other ways. 10 regular summons and then a bunch of spells and traps. So it's going to be kind of awkward having monsters on the field. We do have call the haunted and primat to bring them back. We have snatch deal to steal other other opponents stuff. So Kyle's going to love that. We have two nobleman to cross out two creature swap. You know, creature swap's only so good. You have to have monsters on the field. So if we can switch, you know, a mass dragon is fantastic. But we don't have a monster. It's kind of a dead card. Heavy storm's great. Reloads. Might need those because our hands are going to be pretty weird. Graveyard in the fourth dimension at two levels back from our graveyard. We might need that because we're going to have not so many monsters. So once they go to the graveyard, we can add them back. Still kind of a bad card. Dragon's Rage. If we attack defense monster, we get to inflict piercing damage. Dragon's Bead is a continuous that uh will negate the effect of a trap card. We have to discard a card though, which is kind of unfortunate. Trap Jammer only activates in the battle phase but will negate a trap card. Internet matter transporter I guess to keep the level three alive and then we can bring out level five reckless greed ceasefire. Curse of Anubis and then our staming destructions are pretty nice. They destroy back row inflict 500 damage as long as we have a dragon on the field which is all of our monsters and noblemans to deal with the set cards which will be like the pyramid turtles that he has. So this is definitely going to be interesting. Um the zombie deck's pretty good so this might be rough for us but let's give it our best effort. Raar. Ooh. Was that a dragon's roar? >> That was a roar of a dragon. >> Well, >> can you be mad real quick? >> I can't believe you GET ANOTHER SNATCH DEAL. I want to eat brains over it. >> I'm assuming you got one, right? >> I went over both decks actually like a really good co-host. So, I saw everything in your deck. >> Okay. So, did you get a snatch deal or not? >> I don't. You didn't do your homework. >> No, I was like I figured you'd tell me cuz you're so excited to BE >> IT'S TIME TO DUEL. >> Surely you I didn't hear your question. Hey, man. Like it's 2005. I heard Pokemon Emerald version is coming out soon. Are you >> literally that I have a feeling it might be one of the greatest Pokemon games ever released like in 20 years from now. So >> actually let me tell you about the RNG and Emerald version. >> Okay. How do you know this already? >> Uh so I got the Japanese copy. Exactly. Yep. You you know you know I'm ahead of the game here. >> That's smart of you. >> Wow. My hand is so good. Well, >> oh my gosh, >> I am so excited. I really hope you got a snatch deal. I'm really excited because then it's going to really suck for you, but it's going to be great for me that if you get a snatch deal. >> Um, [laughter] this is funny. I actually have to do this right now. >> What? >> Well, my deck came with two copies of Reload. I Yeah. >> Did it help or >> um >> you Magic the Gathering, you know, returned all your cards. All right. >> Yeah, I guess I'll just do this. >> Wow, that's so sick. >> Your turn. >> That's >> Yeah, I did a mulligan. Mulligan. Yeah. >> Okay. Nice. >> Humble tea set. Humble tea set. >> That's pretty cool. >> Yep. Yep. >> All right. Well, let's try something. >> Ah, >> dragon. >> Stamp away that back row. >> You fool. >> Oh no. >> You've activated my trap card. [laughter] Reckless greed. You won't be drawing for two more turns. You better get another reload. >> Oo. >> Oh, [laughter] 500 points. >> If this is a pyramid turtle, who cares? I'm not worried. >> Okay. >> What the >> I'm a I'm a big >> bone tower. Okay. All right. >> Yep. Cool. >> Yep. >> Soul absorbing. >> It's bone tower. >> Oh, no. I can't draw. >> Well, I'm just going to set a guy then. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And I'm just going to set this guy. Okay. >> Do you have any cool events going on this week? >> Um, dude, you know how I got that Japanese copy of Emerald? One of my uh relatives was overseas. They also brought me back three packs of Flaming Eternity. >> That's pretty cool, actually. That's pretty cool. >> A couple bonus packs from a set that I think is going to be pretty big. >> That's kind of funny because like you get it early, but you can't use it early. [laughter] >> I can't use it, but I got three bonus packs in one of the cards. >> Yeah. >> Pretty sick. >> Yep. Pretty good. pretty good. >> Um, that's cool. Um, you would tell me if you're set pyramid turtle, right, >> dude? What would I ever lie to you about things and stuff? >> I don't I don't think so. But I'm going to use this. >> Uh-oh. >> Uh, I don't love that. >> I'm going to give you this really cool Pokemon. It It turns into a bigger Pokemon. >> Oh, it is Pyramid Turtle. All right, cool. Sick. [laughter] All right. Sick. Well, I'll do this. Uh, that's rude. First off, I just want to point that out. >> I'm just going to do some damage. Yeah, you can't draw, so that's [music] cool. >> Yep. Yep. Um Huh. >> Uh well, >> I guess I'll just end my turn. [laughter] >> Wow, sick. That's >> I was a little reckless with that trap card activation. I think >> you got a little reckless. I >> got a little reckless. Yeah. >> All right. Well, let me let me uh >> Whoa, calm down. >> Some demage. >> Whoa, calm down there, buddy. >> Pyramid Turtle. >> Uh-huh. Uh-huh. >> Mass Dragon, >> right? >> Luster Dragon. >> Boy, I hope this next card is good. >> Well, you got you got one more chance there. I'm going to set a card. >> Well, >> the dragons are roaring. Raw. Oh, come on, man. That was rude. >> Well, what if it messes up my plans? Oh, it probably >> wasn't going to mess up YOUR [laughter] OH, this is going to go sick. Nasty, mate. You ready? >> Not a double pyramid turtle. Not a double pyramid turtle. Come on. Come on. >> Woohoo. >> Dang it. [laughter] Woohoo. >> That's really bad, actually. [laughter] >> This is sick. >> That's really bad, actually. >> I'm going to go ahead and activate one, two, >> okay, >> effects, if that's cool with you. >> They're really not good. Um, first off, let's go ahead and grab our favorite guy >> Vampire Lord. >> The goat. >> And then let's go ahead and snag I'm going to go ahead and grab Ryuku Koki. >> Oh, yeah. I I'm sad I didn't get the deck cuz I wanted more Ryu Kokis. I only have one [laughter] >> one singular re. But I mean, I do have Patrician of Darkness, so we're all good. But >> m I'm going to go ahead and get this guy. >> Oh man. >> Yeah, let's go ahead and send a spell card cuz you got a lot of good ones. I saw >> Are you serious? Yeah, I do have a lot of good ones. Like this one or >> I know what you're I know what you're going to send. I know exactly which one you're going to send. >> What? >> Oh, >> I think there's a there's a way worse card in your >> There's a really bad card, but I was like, I don't want reload ever. So, [laughter] uh Okay, I'm going bring this out in defense mode. Oo. Okay. Well, then I'm going to get rid of this guy then. >> Fine. And I'll end my turn. >> Okay. Okay. >> Okay. >> Right. >> You've got a lot of points. >> Not life points. [laughter] You've got a lot of attack points. >> Yeah. Yeah. But life points. >> You destroyed my trap jammer. That would have changed everything. >> Um, true. What do I want to do here if I do that? Zombie points. >> I don't think that really does anything for me. I'm just going to put on some pressure and maybe like get rid of a cool guy from your great hair. >> Oh, wow. Yeah, that's a good card, too. That's a Oh, man. >> It's a good one. >> I want the zombie [clears throat] deck. [laughter] >> Um, just in case. >> No, >> I don't think it super does anything for me, but in case it like premat and then special summon your guy, you know what I mean? >> Well, I'm going to go ahead and do this first. >> Activate my effect. >> Oh, no. Wow, what a big big huge surprise. >> Mhm. >> Um, element drag. Why attack mode? >> Uh, cuz I like attack mode. >> Okay. Uh, >> this is not good. [laughter] >> No, but attack mode was a good choice. >> That was a great choice. I was not paying attention to the order you put your stuff out. Oh, there we go. >> Yeah. >> Game changer. I'm going to draw two really great cards. Oh, no. Actually, yes, I do love great cards, don't I? It's so fantastic. >> Ah, you are awful at this game. Has anybody [laughter] ever told you that? actually the worst video player of all time. >> Uh, somebody has told me that. Uh, actually many people have told me that. Um, [laughter] uh, >> I'm just saying it cuz I'm salty. Okay. Not because I mean it. You're >> No, I get it. No, I get it. It's fair. >> No, you're really good. >> No, I I get it. It's fair. It's understandable. >> Okay. As long as you understand. >> I get it. Now, let me just take your behemoth >> vampire lord. >> Okay. But he doesn't come back that way, and that's not great for me. >> Yeah. Now, I'm going to let you um kill me. Oh, >> now how many Rayu Koki does have? Two probably in this deck. >> Imagine if I had another Ryuki. Could you imagine? >> Yeah. >> Imagine no longer. He's here. >> He is here and he is not amused. Okay. Um, anyways, I'll take that. >> Sick. >> Um, I mean, I told you I wanted to play the zombie deck. I'm doing my best to play it, you know. >> Sick, [laughter] dude. double Ryuki. That's a cool one. Okay, >> don't mess up my plans, please. >> Thank you for the points. >> Don't mess up my plans. >> Now I have more points. I'm going to do this just in case. >> Um, okay. I'll do the same thing. >> Oh, now you're going to do it. >> Yeah, I'll try it out. See how it goes. >> I'm I'm going to be honest. It's scary. it. I'm honestly scared now cuz I This is all the cards I got probably the rest of the game. [laughter] >> Um I'm going to do something a little wonky, but I don't want it to get destroyed and I don't want you to have tribute fodder. So, I'm actually going to tribute these guys and summon Despair from the Dark. >> Oh my gosh. [laughter] >> Yeah, look at this guy. >> That's pretty cool. I'm not going to lie. [laughter] Well, luckily I have three cards that will definitely deal with him. >> Okay. Well, you have um exactly the same number of cards I have. >> Yeah. >> Go ahead and snatch. Oh, you already spent it. >> Already used it. >> Spent it already. >> I You better have snatch deal in your deck [laughter] cuz you're never allowed to complain anymore. It's going to be great. [gasps] It's going to suck for you. >> Now you have two. >> Half your dialogue options are going to be gone. [laughter] No, I'm still going to complain. Don't worry. [laughter] >> Don't you worry. >> I mean, I don't have to complain anymore because my cousin quit Yu-Gi-Oh, so I'm chilling. >> Oo. Did you get any cool cards out of that transaction? >> Yeah, I got an ultra rare from a previous set. >> Oh, great. [laughter] >> [gasps] >> I I don't I can't I don't think there's anything in your I'm just going to let it happen. >> Compulse. Oh, yeah. Well, you lost now. Luster dragon. >> I was going to compulse the regenerating mummy, which would have been funny. >> Yeah, then I could have done anything actually. [laughter] Don't worry, I can handle despair [clears throat] from the dark. This is no problem. Is this game one? >> This is game one, baby. >> Wait, this is kind of sick. This is better than the uh Syke Episode. >> This is This actually is >> That episode was really good. It was amazing. >> No, >> your guy. Go ahead and draw your last pathetic Uh-oh. >> Oh, wait. Watch this. I can actually draw. [laughter and snorts] >> Oh, good, good, good, good. I am scared. [laughter] You were laughing a little too innocently. I was like, "Oh, buddy, come on. >> Come on." Despair for the dark. Come on. I got K. I drew Kuribo. >> Okay. The dragon Kuribo. >> Yeah. Dragon version. He's called He's called What would they call a dragon? Kuribo. Curry dragon or something. >> Okay. Wait. We got >> Oh, like Kumori. We could do Kuribo. And but the coup is from Kamori Dragon, which is also one of Yugi's cards. >> That'll work. That'll work. [laughter] He's got like a little dragon like hat on. >> Winged dragon, guardian of the Kuribo number one. >> I'm down for that. >> I think that'd be pretty good. I'm going first. >> Yeah, you have to pass it to me. >> Fine, I guess. As long as I don't have to minus one with a reload to start the game. Okay. >> Wow. That is something. That is something. >> Huh. Okay. >> That is something. >> Yeah. I'll draw my card. >> Duro. >> Exciting. Very exciting. Luster Dragon. >> You only have one of those. How do you keep doing this? >> Uh, do I have one of those? I thought I had two. >> Oh, do you get two? >> I think I get two. >> Yeah, I get two of these. >> You got two ultra rares from Magicians Forest in your $9.99. Like this was this was huge for us as kids because most of the cards in this in these decks like Mystical Space Typhoon that was an ultra rare. >> Oh yeah, these decks have staples galore that were like high ris. >> Yeah, it is pretty cool. >> Um, >> set pyramid turtle in defense mode. Activate snatch steel for the first time. >> I'm going to do this. >> That's not snatch steel. That's not snatch deal. And this >> Oh my gosh. >> Hey, >> Pyramid Turtle. Oh my gosh, [laughter] >> he ripped the Pyramid Turtle. That's crazy. >> A decently good card. >> But now I'm down two cards. Reload >> is so bad. [laughter] >> It really is. >> But if you get the right cards, it's not that bad. >> Uh-oh. Well, >> oh, creature swap. >> I wanted to keep it. Oh, >> I hope this is Pyramid Turtle. It's Spear Reaper. Even better. >> That's awful. You don't want to give me that? Thanks, man. >> No, actually, >> it's kind of crazy. I thought you would have given me that. >> Those are some good cards, buddy. >> Okay, I'll pass. >> Uh, >> Luster Dragon. >> Yeah, thanks, Luster Dragon. Oh, interesting. Well, we're just going to keep doing this until I draw something usable. >> Yeah. >> Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. We love a good reload. >> Oh, that's fantastic. Just what I was looking for. >> Um, you know, I want to see what this is. >> I'll use my ferro servant ultra rare. Okay. Shocker. Uh, rude >> shocker. Pyramid turtle. >> I was going to use this. >> Cool. This is fantastic for me. >> Oh, [laughter] I see how it is. >> Defense. >> Uhhuh. Well, defense. Clap. You got enough pyramid turtles over there? >> No. Destroy one if you don't like them. [laughter] >> What in the world? This is going to be an interesting one. [laughter] You get a two tribute for Despair from the Dark. Oh, you're not ready, buddy. >> I'm not. I'm really not ready. >> Um, well, I also have just like a one tribute, which is pretty cool. >> Yeah. >> Where you go? Okay, this guy. Okay, sure. >> And uh notably, there's no Mirror Force in these decks. >> Nope. >> So, that's pretty cool. >> No Mirror Force. Hard card to get, you know, I would know since I don't have it. Well, I didn't have it. >> Um, yeah, it's still Justin. No, no. DB Dark Beginnings 2 will give us our first reprint, right? >> Super rare, I think. Yeah, >> I heard. I heard I heard. I don't know. That set hasn't come out yet. >> In the future. Pretty cool. >> I heard in the future, even though it's not an OCG yet. >> Speaking of future. future. >> Oh man, he activated draw three. Draw two. >> Don't worry, I have lots of monsters to draw. [laughter] >> Duro. Okay, that's a cool one. I don't mind that one at all. Okay, well, I'm going to I'm going to turn this guy sideways. >> You want to do both of them in defense? I mean, he's 2,000 defense. I mean, what what's going to beat over that? >> And I can't wait for his ability to activate where he destroys a warrior spellcaster monster in your dragon deck. Yeah, that would be really sick. [laughter] Oh, [snorts] I see. I see. >> H. Well, there's no like field wipes in this format, so I'm just going to be as impervious to snatch steel as possible. Oh, look. Regenerating Mummy. >> He do be regenerating. He has to be sent from what? Sent from your hand to the graveyard by an opponent's card effect. Were you going to do that? >> Huh? >> Yeah, I was going to do you going to activate >> snatch deal from your hand. All right, let me draw two cards. >> No. >> Okay, that's me. I could have used those cards. >> Oh, I'm sure you could have, buddy. >> I could have used those. Uh, I prefer if you insist, I will not use them. >> I do insist. >> Uh, okay. That's fantastic for me. [laughter] Uh, okay. Well, let's try out a new card. Call of the Haunted. >> Ruster Dragon to the field. >> I've been wanting one of those. That's a pretty cool one. And masked dragon. >> Mask dragon. >> Uhoh. >> All right. Mask dragon. >> Rude. I'll bring out the one, the only arm dragon level three. >> Ah, that's a good one. >> He's armed. He's a dragon. He's level three. >> That's true. Unfortunately, arm dragon level five has that cool effect, but like you know, >> it's got that weird thing about the attack and then like vampire lord, you pop him, he just comes back. So, it's kind of not that good. >> I'm a little bit scared. >> That's That's unfortunate for me. >> Ooh, trap jammer. That's why you're upset, right? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Our trap jammer is going to go hard. [laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think it was going TO >> I think I want to just do like >> the dragon the the book of dragon. That's what I need. [laughter] Book of dragon. So I could bring back my mass dragon. >> That would be really cool. >> That'd be huge. That'd be a game changer. [laughter] >> If I had book of dragon right now, >> you know what's really cool about the attack points of your arm dragon level three? >> They equal my pyramid turtles. Isn't that cool? Yeah, that's really not great. >> That's just a cool little fun fact. >> Oh, I'm dead. >> Exact. No, not exact. Close to exact. >> Oh, a little over. Just a little little cherry on top. >> Dang. I wish I could have used my red eyes black dragon in my hand. [laughter] >> Well, you should have used your your pet your baby black dragons. I don't remember. We got to call [laughter] it something else these days. >> Baby black dragons. >> Baby. It's the the chick [laughter] baby chick red eyes dragon. >> Yeah. Yes. That I should have done that. Exactly what you just said is what I should >> of blackness. I think I got it. I think I nailed it. [laughter] >> Oh my gosh. >> All right. >> So, this was pretty interesting. Um, when these cards or when these sets came out, it was like the first time that we got like a strategy that wasn't just cards that a character used in the anime. >> Yeah. >> And you could actually go to a local and play the zombie deck. Um, I don't know. I don't know about yours. >> Oh my gosh. What the freak? [laughter] >> Cuz your payoff your payoff is like a guy who who has Buster Bladers effect but worse, right? >> [laughter] >> Yeah. [gasps] Oh, wow. We got some high quality stuff over here. Uh, I got really good cards. Okay, I'm just letting you know. >> Dang it. I I got to watch out then. Okay. Well, I'll draw. >> Oo. Um, that wasn't the card that I wanted. I'm going to go ahead and draw a couple more cards. Okay. >> Oh my gosh. >> If you're cool with it. Okay, you are cool with it. >> This is really good. Yeah, it is good. You're right. I'm going to do one of these and one of these and one of these. And >> it's your move, duelist. >> This is This is good. Everything's going going well. >> It's going well. Everything is good. >> Yeah. >> What? Every what? >> That's all I can do is get rid of face downs. [laughter] No, >> you're protecting yourself. >> I need this guy. The crazy thing, my deck comes with three compulses. >> Yeah, that's pretty sick. >> It's crazy. >> That's pretty sick. That's pretty powerful. I will say >> it is. >> Speaking of powerful, 1400 points. >> Oh no. >> Yeah. Now you've lost. Just took 1400 damage. >> This is the end for me. [laughter] >> Wow. This is um this is something. >> H >> this is something. >> Ooh, that's a cool one. Um I'm going to do this. >> Oh no. >> And I'm going to do this. >> I am now very confused. >> Can I have your guy? >> Um well, I think I can negate this using the dragon's bead. So, I'll discard a very good card. I actually don't know if this is going to work or not. >> It doesn't target. This doesn't target. >> Why is it letting me activate this then? >> Because it's a trap card. A continuous trap. You can activate it anytime you want. >> Oh. Oh, it's a continuous trap. Okay. Yeah. So, don't activate any trap cards. >> I probably won't. [laughter] >> Uh I wanted to discard this card so bad, >> but I guess I won't. >> I guess these guys are going to go here. All romantic like. And I'm thinking about activating another card. I think this is as good a time as ever. I'm going to give up my extra card I got from Podigreed. But >> wait, what? [laughter] Okay. >> Just in case you got something going on. >> NO, MY [laughter] CARDS. My dragons. >> You're getting reckless, buddy. >> Yeah, baby. Give me two cards. I really need them. They got to be good or I'm cooked. [laughter] Okay. >> I've seen worse. >> Okay. Well, I'm going to do this. And we're going to do this. >> Okay. >> And we're going to do this. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> And we're going to do this. >> Um Um >> I'm going to get greedy. >> Okay. >> I'm going to do this. Oh wow, that was a big mistake cuz I have no good cards [laughter] >> except this one. >> Oh yeah, that was that was good. It's a good card. >> See, told you. I knew I'd peg a good one. >> You did. You got a great card. >> Yep. All you got to do is attack this Masked Dragon, though. And uh we're off to the races. >> That's all I got to do with all my great cards that I have. >> Oh. Huh. Was this one really good? >> Oh, wow. Yeah, they're all really good. Yeah, they're really great. >> Oh, you fool. >> It's a great great card. Very useful. >> H. When you say useful, >> I mean, it was had a lot of uses right now. >> I'm just going to I'm going to try again. >> MY GOSH. HOW [laughter] MANY OF THESE DO YOU HAVE? >> UH, THREE. NO, TWO. TWO. TWO. >> OKAY. UM, and then we'll just like go here. >> Okay. >> What's the last card? >> Really a really strong one. [laughter and gasps] >> Oh no, that's your best guy. >> It's my best card. Yep. It's going to be hard to win it with that one. Not in my deck. >> Dude, my hand control deck is going crazy right now. >> Dude, I've got so many good cards set. You have no chance. >> Okay. Oh >> yeah, I've got some really great card set. >> Uh-oh. That's not good. But this is >> actually Oh, >> uh, just in case you get cheeky and like want to battle over your own guy, I'm going to summon this guy. >> Battle? How am I going to battle? [laughter] >> You're exactly 4050. Oh, dang. >> I'm going to banish this. >> Oh, how's my graveyard in the fourth dimension going to save me? [laughter] >> And my other creature swab with no monsters. What else you got in your hand? >> Really good stuff. Air. >> I have high quality air right now. >> High quality. Okay. >> Highest of quality. >> WOW. WHAT A GREAT DECK. What a fantastic deck, >> dude. I Okay, just for the record, when we were texting before this, Ruxen was like, "Hey, like are we going to randomly choose a deck?" And I was like, "We should each choose one. I'll take the dragon cuz I know we both like zombies." And he's like, "It's okay. I'll take dragon." >> Actually, you said I'll take zombie. And I said, "Well, I would also want zombie." Then you was like, "No, it's okay." >> Then I said, "Don't worry, I'll take the dragon." >> You said, "Don't worry." So >> now tell me you got your snatch deal. WELL, >> YEAH, BUT AT least tell the story accurately, mister. I claim the zombie [laughter] first. >> Uh, yeah, I did get a snatch deal and I got a second torrential tribute. >> This is a successful episode. He has the snatch deal. >> This was crazy cuz it gave me my third MST. It gave me my second and third book of life. That's why I wanted this zombie deck was more for the future than for now. >> So now in the future I have armed dragon level three. [laughter] >> Did you get called haunted too? >> No, that was the one. >> So that's the one thing I got extra. Then >> I got a trunade to your call. >> Anybody have that? >> I had two trrenades. This makes my third trunade. >> Oh, I don't know if I even have one. So it's interesting. Yeah, I got a bunch of stuff that I did already have, but it'll be good. >> I'm glad that they made these decks so good at bringing out the boss monsters that we both summoned ours. >> Yeah, I loved drawing my boss monster there at the end. Like that was a guaranteed summon. >> [laughter] >> They they get a little bit better at structured decks later, but the fact that you had to have red eyes on the field, which is like impossible to get out and I had to have vampire lord on the field, which is like decent to get out because of, you know, call the mummy and pyramid turtle. Um, but you have to banish vampire lord to special summon it from your hand. You have to have both it. I don't know the other cool stuff on the >> deck. At least something that floats into red eyes to give me a chance. But no, I've got to summon the black dragon's chick. Then I have to summon the red eyes over it. [laughter] Then I have to summon the red eyes darkness dragon. And you know what you get for that? 300 attack for each dragon in your graveyard. >> Only your graveyard. You don't even get my buster blader. >> Buster blader is 26. This is 24. I only get 300 for each dragon in my own graveyard. Like why is this so bad? >> And then vampire genesis. He at least gets to like use like the creators ability and special summon zombies which is like okay that's decent payoff. >> Whoever made these decks was a huge zombie fan and didn't give a crap. >> Hated dragons. [laughter] Hated dragons. >> And like this deck also has two creature swap. I have 14 total monsters and one of them is red eyes darkness dragon. One of them is red eyes and then two of them are arm dragon level five. So there's 10 normal summons total to [laughter] creature swap. It's like, okay, this is going to work. >> That's why there's two reloads in here, so I can uh, you know, [laughter] >> get it back. >> Mine had three Pyramid Turtle, three Call of the Mummy, and three Compulse. I was like, whoa, that's >> No. Yeah, that deck is amazing. That deck is actually like really good. It It's very solid. It It actually makes sense together, too, as a deck. You don't have to have like different cards like you just use the deck. Other than the Vampire Genesis, of course, but [laughter] >> they needed a cover card. I don't know why they couldn't just had Vampire Lord or something like that. Like that would have been fine. I mean, I guess they had it in a like they wanted a new card or whatever, but >> yeah, >> maybe make it a good card if you're gonna do that. >> They they really could have had like two vampire lords in mind and like three red eyes black chick or tiny baby red dragon >> red uh and you know like three of those and like maybe a second red eyes anything. >> And why doesn't red why does a black dragon's chick just float into red eyes? Like it it's not that strong. It's just a 2400. Like they do that in zombie already. Like it's a hard card to summon. It has no effect. Ray Koki has an effect. This doesn't. >> It's the same stats. It's like just float into red eyes. It'd be much better. But >> it would make more sense. >> You have some good support cards though. Like stamping destruction is like pretty good. >> Yeah. You just have to be able to summon a dragon with your >> take. Yeah. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Three stamping destruction. So you there's a lot of chances to draw that one. I don't really get why interdimensional matter transporters in here [laughter] twice. >> We keep arm dragon level three alive, I guess. But >> it was a critical reprint. Okay. Just like >> crisis ultra rare. >> What What are my reprints? I got like uh magic jammer. [laughter] Um >> yeah, I have jammer, which I hate because it has to be during the battle phase, which is ridiculous. >> Uh-huh. Yeah. You didn't even get seven tools. >> Seven tools is better. I'd rather pay a thousand. Yeah. >> Well, playground episodes are going to be so funny with you having three change of heart and two snatch steel and um Yep. >> I'm going to love that. >> Yep. It's going to be great. And now that I have my new ultra rare, it's going to be fantastic. >> Yeah. I wonder what the ultra rare is. And I have no clue at all. >> Yeah. What do you What do you think it is? >> Uh Blackluster Soldier Envoy at the beginning. >> You might have to watch this tape BACK THEN. >> OH, OKAY. [laughter] I did not take Blackluster Soldier actually. >> What? >> I did not take it. I did lots of research and after noticing Master Collection 2 on the horizon, I decided to take something else. >> Oh, because you'll get your own BLS. >> And I said, I'm going to have to I'm going to have to endure a few more episodes of BLS. I'm going to get the secret rares in master collection. >> I decided to go all the way back to the beginning to one of my favorite cards. OH, OKAY. FORCE. [screaming] >> Uh I I thought you alluded to that earlier. Okay. So, we both got Mirror Force, but it's still banned right now. >> It Yeah. So, I sacrificed, you know. Yeah, it is banned, but it is going to come back for GOAT. Okay. >> It is. >> So, and because it is one of my favorite cards, it it kind of, you know, >> it was a little bit of the reason, but I was looking at Breaker, too, but that's also in master collection. So, I'm like, why am I picking stuff that I'm going to get in promos? So, I'm just like >> I'm going to have so many breakers. Yeah, you're gonna have like cuz I guess we're going to open four master collections. You're have four [laughter] more. >> So, uh yeah, that that was exciting. Uh I I have to um get BLS a few more episodes, though. So, have fun with that. >> I will. Next episode is Flaming Eternity, a really cool set. >> Dude, this uh this upcoming year is crazy. There's so many releases coming out. It's actually insane how many >> we get like Flaming Eternity, Lost Millennium. So they've like banned Change of Heart and Snatch Steel like in in a couple of months. >> Flaming Eternity, Dark Revelation 1, Decks, Lost Millennium, Dark Beginning 2, Cybernetic Revolution, 2005 Collector 10, Forbidden Legacy, Master Collection 2, Dark Revelation 2, Warriors Triumph, and Elemental Energy. >> That's crazy. This is a BIG YEAR. THIS IS a big year. >> Dang. CRV is a crazy one, too. If >> if we get Cyber Dragon because I opened my three packs of Flaming Eternity. I won't tell you what the hollow was, but all three packs were meteor. >> What the holo was? I'm going to see it. Tell me what it is. >> Uh oh, I guess. Yeah, I got Lightning Vortex. >> Ooh, >> which is a huge one for our uh our locals episodes. >> Yeah, that's really good actually. Especially certain decks. [music] Um yeah, that's pretty sick. That's a really nice uh nice uncle of yours, you know, bring you a lot of >> Absolutely. a copy of Emerald version and three packs of Flaming Eternity. >> Oh, I really want the Emerald version. Can I Can I trade you? I'll trade you like a snatch deal or something. >> Nope. Don't need that anymore, buddy. Um, [laughter] >> oh, in my tournament packs, I you used that super rare wheel spin to get a Kaiu. I got a rare one >> for free. >> I You know what? I got >> three vanillaas in my one pack that I got. Lucky. You're so lucky. >> Now that I'm looking, I'm pretty sure I opened the wrong tournament pack, but I got nothing. So, [laughter] >> I think I opened tournament pack six. It's not even out yet. I got it early. >> Oh, buddy. Cheater. >> I need to reopen five. I might actually get something. >> Yeah, I got two Book of Lives, which I realized I got super excited about, and then I just got two more in the deck. >> So, you have like a Wait, I actually need to open Turn of Pack Five. There's a lot of stuff I need. All right, sweet. I'm going to reroll that. [laughter] All right. Well, enough chattering and uh yeah, this is uh not our longest episode ever, but we will [music] be back a flaming eternity next time at locals. >> Yeah, baby. >> It's going to be sick. It's going to be fun. >> Bye. >> Peace. >> Shout out to Brandon Cheney, Adams, Be [music] Training, King Tamaya, Junior Party. >> OH, [screaming] AND ARCH LORD Christian first edition. Shang Lang and Crypto Poppy Mike for your support as ultimate members. [screaming] OH MY GOODNESS. THE BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON. [screaming] OH. And >> I'll see you guys next time. Peace.
