Dueling In Yugioh's DUELIST KINGDOM In Master Duel! | Duelist Kingdom Conquest EP1

In this series, I am entering Yu-Gi-Oh anime's Duelist Kingdom arc and will be attempting to make my way to the Duelist Kingdom finals. I start with 20 star chips and must obtain 80 more by defeating other duelists competing in the Duelist Kingdom tournament. Each episode, I will take on a fellow YouTuber in a duel using cards from the Duelist Kingdom Arena Draft with a twist. Before each game and after seeing their opening hand, the turn player must select a number of star chips to wager on the duel. The winner of that duel steals that number of star chips from their opponent. Once one duelist is left with zero or the 1-hour time limit ends, the match is over. If I'm able to reduce my opponent to zero star chips, I can steal a card from their deck to use in the next episodes. But if my star chips are reduced to zero, I have to completely restart the challenge. Once I have 100 star chips in the series, I can move on to the Duelist Kingdom finals. I know you guys like Battle City Bonanza a lot, so we're going to do a Duelist Kingdom series here as well. And we have to start off with my draft, which is going to be probably the most important part of the entire series. So, let's see what we can grab. I have illusion. Wait, what? I don't even know what this does. If you control an illusion or spellcaster monster, activate one of the effects. Your illusion spellcaster monster cannot be destroyed by battle's turn. Oh, wait. I forgot. That reminds me, I almost skipped the most important part. I am getting a boss monster this series. So, I'm going to spin this wheel. And I picked all the boss monsters from the popular characters, even some unpopular characters in the anime. So, Dark Magician for Yuki, uh, Blue Eyes for Kaiba, Red Eyes for Joey, Great Moth for Weevil, Exodia is kind of Yuki, kind of the rare hunter. Uh, gate guardian, I guess it'd have to be rare hunter, so we don't double Yuki, but gate guardian for the uh the parah and docs. By the way, if you do get something like gate guardian, you are allowed [music] to use all the other pieces. In Exodia, you get all the five pieces. So, in Great Moth, you get everything that's needed to summon it. So, it's not just the one card, but obviously getting those cards would be terrible. So, I don't want to get them. Legendary fisherman, harve lady sisters. You can use other related Harvey stuff. Uh, King of Yummy Mai, Relinquished, uh, Millennium Shield, but for, uh, for Rebecca and for Rebecca's dad, uh, the older guy or grandpa, sorry. So, both of them use Millennium Shield, Serite Dragon, and Pumpkin, the King of Ghosts. So, I really just want a one-off that's not going to make me use a bunch of random cards. So, here we go. Here's the last thing we do before I make my deck. I have a Duelist Kingdom Conquest wheel where I get to spin and get a type of card. I get to select any one of those cards from the Duelist Kingdom card pool. So, this will significantly help our deck. We're going to spin this every episode. And our opponents are also going to spend this every episode. And if it's episode three, they get to spend it three times. So they're on equal footing with myself who will be progressing. It'll be like they've progressed as well cuz they get to select three things, you know, from the wheel. So because it's episode one, we're both going to spin at once. So I really hope we don't get fusion or ritual cuz those are options. Uh effect would be fantastic. All right, normal it is. Okay, so we get to go to normal. Here is the list of everything. There's 109 normal cards we can choose from, and we get to grab something. Honestly, I'm considering getting like a normal spellcaster maybe. Uh let's see because then I could use that illusion thing a little bit more. Like uh I should have picked fair's gift earlier. This was a spellcaster. That's 1,400. Uh Lady of Faith. That's the Exodia. Mystical Elf though being face up and like getting to use that is pretty good. Soggy and Thousand Eyes Idol. I think mystical elf is the choice. Yeah, I kind of like that. I'm going to add Mystical Elf to our deck. And that way the illusion cards that we got, we [music] actually have three chances to use them with three different monsters. And I have two of them in my deck. So, I kind of need some options. And I think uh Mystical Elf being a 2K defender is pretty nice in this format. All right. To spice up my deck, I need to hit spell on this wheel. I need double harpies feather duster. Double, [music] please, for the love of all things good. For the love of all things good, spell. There's only one good thing on this wheel and it's spell. And it's spell traps. Mirror force. Mirror force. Mirror force. A mirror force. All right, we get to add a trap. A spicy trap. Let's go. All right, let's go actually build this deck. Here's the deck profile. So, we got everything that we generally would like. We added the red eyes and the mirror forge. And we cut seven completed cuz I'm never using it. I mean, royal guard is the only card I can use it with cuz I ain't using it with the blast spheres. And then we cut the elf's light. I was thinking about cutting ring of ring of magnetism, but if I have sewen on the field, ring is actually pretty good. And then if I tribute for the Millennium Shield, and he swings into it, then I can equip it to the Millennium Shield. So I think overall my deck is good. We have four destruction cards. We have two maneater bug, two blast fear, a mirror force, right? We have double kunai. We have duster cuz I already know Rxen playing 30 traps and spells and 10 monsters. Uh we have barrel dragon, which is battle dragon and suen, which are theoretically better boss monsters than the red eyes, but I threw in the red eyes cuz I have to. We have the time wizard. I'm gonna channel Jen's luck and hopefully, you know, do a good job there. Um, double call really powerful. Wabaku is good. Only downside to my deck is I have nine tribute monsters out of 22. That's bad because theoretically I could brick quite often. However, I think my spell and traps carry me today and hopefully I just don't end up bricking. So, let's see how Roxen did. And um, Roxen, I want to tell you one thing and one thing only. It was a mistake to bring me out here for episode one cuz your your confidence level is going to plummet, bro. It's it's going to plummet. But I will see you in the all important game number one. Okay, here's our deck in Master. And as you can see, we have 42 cards because we got our Blue Eyes White Dragon and we got our other bonus card, Mystical Elf. So now I have to cut two cards to make it 40. I don't necessarily have to, but there's a lot of unplayable cards in here, so I definitely want to cut those two cards. Now, sadly, I can't just cut really bad monsters because we have polymerization and not a single fusion that can be summoned. So, before I do that, I'm going to cut these beast skulls cuz I'm not crafting URS that I can't use. So, we're going to have 13 fusions in here. And we have to cut the polymerization because even the only one I actually have one material for is skeleton. So, I'd have Blackland Fire Dragon. Even if I stole a snake hair from somebody with brain control and then use polymerization, would that really be worth it just for skeleton? I don't think so. So, we got to cut that. There's one more cut and there's a lot of terrible cards in this deck. Now, looking at the traps, everything is fairly playable. I don't think we cut any of that. For the spells, um it looks like dude, how many lights do we have? This can go with our blue-eyed white dragon. It can go with our mystical elf. I don't know why would we want to do that, but maybe shield and sword or something like that. Um the copycat after it copies stuff. I think it's okay. It's not great. I have illusions. We have three spellcasters to work with. Not too many. Uh Ryoku is pretty decent. Uh, I mean, it's actually really good for this this uh format. Overall, everything's pretty decent. Shield and sword because we have a lot of defense on our guys. So, it's going to have to be a monster here. And there's plenty of unplayable level five. So, this one can be set and can actually pop a trap. So, I think that's pretty good. This is 2k. So, it's like, okay, maybe this one is 1,800 attack. Oh, we're getting worse. 1,500 attack. I think Zanki, his swift drawn blade delivers quick and fatal damage though. it does that. It's a little bit too steep of a cost, you know, to have to tribute it to have the same attack as an armored zombie level three. So, I think we're going to cut the zonkey. That puts us down to 40 cards in our deck. Now, this won't be our deck for the rest of the series necessarily because there are going to be a couple of ways to get new cards, including if we lose or take out our opponent, we get to take one of their cards at the end of the match. I say match, but I've obviously it's just the end of the hour or until somebody runs out of star chips. There's also going to be something to spend our money on in this second episode. By money, I mean our star chips if we would like to redeem more cards. So, this is our deck for now, but it will be able to evolve throughout the series potentially. Hopefully, a little bit better than it did in Battle City Bonanza where we lost all of our cards. So, the good side is if we do lose, there's no good cards to take. So, uh we're we're safe. So, let's hop into the first game, see how it goes. We're going to do a little starship wagering and see if we can come out with a victory. Welcome to Duelist Kingdom Conquest.
