Don’t Make THIS Mistake With Your Starter Team!

Hey guys, it's Nate, aka the foot accountant. Welcome back to the channel. It is officially September. The calendar has turned into FC 27 month as we are just a couple of weeks away from logging into FC 27 for the very first time. And I know, we're a little bit early to the conversations about preparing for the game to come out, but I'm starting to see it all over the timeline. Guys, starter teams and starter squad conversations are beginning to come real. And I'm starting to see tweets like this about a Premier League starter squad with cards like Rashford, Ekitike, Doku, Szoboszlai, Tonali, and Gravenberch. Or another starter squad, bit of a hybrid here with Adeyemi, Marmoush, Morgan Rogers, and Frenkie de Jong, Lacroix in at center back. These are not starter teams that you even want to dream about building in the first couple of weeks on this game. This is a smart starter team. Usable cards with good stats, but you're not opening yourself up to lose tons of coins in those first couple of weeks. Today guys, I'm going to give you five tips to live by when building and planning your starter team in FC 27. Let's talk about it all. If you're excited for this one, drop a thumbs up on the video, hype the video, and subscribe if you are new. Let's start right away with tip number one. What do you not want to do when you start building your starter squads? You do not want to buy meta players. Stay away from the mainstream meta. The best example of this is last year in FC 26, this Omar Marmoush card was the most popular card. Look at this cliff that he dropped off of in the first couple of weeks. He was the most popular card to start off the year. If we go back and kind of zoom in on the graph a little bit, you can see he was 80,000 coins in the first couple of days. Everybody wanted to buy this card. He looked insane, right? 89 pace, 86 dribbling, 85 shooting on an 84 rated card. This guy was on everybody's radar. So, when everybody got the coins on the game, logged on to FC 26, they went to buy their starter striker, the most overpowered card that everybody was talking about. And this guy was 80,000 coins because of that. His card should have never been 80k. And of course, what happened after that? Well, people used this card for a bit, but he got packed more as an 84 rated card, and people were able to upgrade over this item pretty soon. And his price went from 80k to 50k in a couple of days. A couple days later, went down to 37,000 coins. And at the beginning of October, just 2 and 1/2 weeks after the game dropped for the first time, this card was 22k after being 80,000 coins. The same thing happened last year with cards like Marcus Rashford, with some of the more popular players even in the Premier League and in La Liga. Just those popular starter squad players that everybody was talking about. Hugo Ekitike as well was another one last year in FC 26 that was like 15,000 coins or 20,000 coins. And as we got into the first couple days of October, literally 2 weeks after the game comes out, he is 6,000 coins. You do not want to buy the most meta players. Now, who are the most meta players this year that everybody's talking about? Barcola moving to the Premier League with Liverpool, an 85 rated card this year. He was 20,000 coins last year. This card I wouldn't even be surprised if he's 75k, maybe even 100,000 coins this year in FC 27 because he's transferred to Liverpool. That is one of the best, if not the best, left wing in the Prem in this game in terms of the meta. So, we're going to be watching out for that card and how much he's going to cost, which you'd want to stay away from. Same thing with Rashford. Everybody's going to want to use Rashford in the early game. You don't want to buy this card because you are going to lose a lot of coins, even though he could fit Evos a few weeks into the game, probably not for the first few weeks. It might take a month or so before he actually fits because of his pace being all the way out there at 92. You do not want to buy this card early. He is going to fall off a lot in price. And that brings me to tip number two about building your FC 27 starter squads. That is avoid the Premier League because we make these jokes often and it's actually sort of true. The Premier League is the biggest league in the world. Everybody wants to use those players. But a card in the Premier League like Barcola, let's say he's actually 100,000 coins for his new card when he comes out in FC 27. Like that same exact card in a different league is not going to be 100,000 coins, right? We can look at so many examples of players maybe who are even similar in statistics to this Barcola who will probably be half the price or even less than that from other leagues just because it is not the Premier League. So I know Premier League players are the ones that are the most exciting. That Rashford, that Ekitike, that Doku in the attack. Man, those cards look insane. You don't want to get those right away because that is a recipe to lose coins. Instead, look for players with similar stats from other leagues. And guys, I got three leagues that I want to show you guys today and talk about. The Saudi League, the Serie A as we always talk about first starter team league, and the Liga F as league number three. All three of those leagues have incredible players with great stats and they're going to be a fraction of the price of the Premier League. Starting off with the Saudi League here. Guys, you've got great defenders like Theo Hernandez, Ibanez, who's going to be a bit overpriced. You want to be careful with him. And Simakan. You got good midfielders like Reijnders now transferring into this league. Quin Jones had a great World Cup. He's got a great upgrade. I think he might even be lengthy. I don't know if he's tall enough, but he's got 81 dribbling and 82 physical with 91 pace. That is a great card. And as I look through some starter teams that I was just building out, there's some great players in the Saudi League that you just don't want to miss out on. Diaby, that's a great card. And this guy last year was 16,000 coins. This year his stats got even worse and I think he's going to be even cheaper than that. He's like 69 shooting, but you're just wanting straight up pace for the wing and dribbling. Boom, that's your guy for probably like 10,000 coins, or maybe even 7,000 coins. The Saudi League is a great starter team, and of course, I've got this paired up right now with a Saudi League Serie A hybrid. Serie A is always one of the best starter teams as well because I'm looking at this team right here, and I'm thinking it's not going to cost more than 40,000 coins to build this team. And you've got some big names in there. Donyell Malen, always meta. He won't be that expensive. Saudi League. Dybala, he won't be that expensive, either. Last year, I think his card was like 30,000 coins, or 20-something thousand coins, maybe 40K max. But he had 80 pace. This year, only 77,000 or 77 pace. Woo. He's not going to be 77K. I think that card's going to be 25,000 coins. That's Dybala. Christian Pulisic, he's probably going to be 15,000 coins with a five-star weak foot, all those positions. You look through the rest of this team, this is a cheap team that is going to perform very, very well for a very low price. And then finally, we got to talk about Liga F. Liga F is going to be slept on, but it's also at the same time started starting to rise in popularity. Vicky López might be the most expensive card in this team of this starter squad right here. But when you look at some of the players in Liga F, there are so many options that are going to be less than 10,000 coins that you will be able to build around as marquee players in your team. Kika Nazareth, that is a phenomenal card for an 83-rated item, right? People know about her. She may not be the cheapest, but like and a 15K for that card, that's an amazing center mid. Caruso, very solid card. 87 dribbling on an 83-rated card. This German women's midfielder here from Madrid, that's even a solid card for a box-to-box. Elena Julve is a very popular card I've seen in some starter teams, and I understand why. Lot of positions, four-star, four-star, 89 pace. Bernstein, 90 pace as well. Rosa Marquez, what is it with these midfielders in the Liga F? 85 pace, Rosa Marquez, 82 dribble, can play CDM, center mid, and CAM, and has 70s in all the rest of the stats in her card. That is probably going to cost you two to to 5,000 coins. Great card. Da Britz as well, great card there. The one thing I would tell you with the women's players is, just like we see for the meta every single year, you probably don't want to have any of them as your center backs or as your goalkeeper. But, right backs, left backs, midfield, attack, women's players are perfectly fine. And maybe, just like of course we had it with the Claudia Piña meta last year, overpowered as well. So, I would definitely, definitely, definitely look into the Liga F this year. And if you pack one or two of these cards when you get into the web app for the first time, don't be afraid to build around them and change up your team. And that's point number three. Never buy a team when you're on the web app. For those first couple of days before we can actually log in to FC 27, the real game, when you're just on the web app opening your welcome back packs, trying to do an SBC or two, the web app period is boring. And it makes you want to buy a team. But, you really, really, really do not. Because once people do actually get on to the full game, they're able to put on FC points and open store packs. And that is where we usually start to see some of those starter squad players that everybody is using and and building, especially the very lower rated ones. I remember specifically cards like Lacroix dropping a lot in price in previous years cuz he's like 80 rated. He gets packed a whole bunch from people who are opening 7.5K and and 25K packs in the store. When people get on the full game, and of course a lot of people end up putting on FC points, that is why you don't want to buy those starter team players on the web app because they are going to lose some value immediately when people log into the game and start ripping packs. I know the web app can be very boring. I hope EA make it more interesting this year. We need more, you know, just ability to do stuff on the web app because the advanced SBCs are no longer tradeable packs and hopefully they change back to being that. If they are, then we'll have fun. We'll be able to trade on the web app, but they haven't been for a few years and it's been very, very quiet. So, ignore that urge to build a team on the web app. And the second part, which is actually second part of this web app conversation, but tip number four, go untradeable. As you get into the game for the first time and log into FC 27, don't be afraid to play a couple of games with like that bronze and silver squad they gave you. Play against the squad battles on like professional or beginner difficulty. Play in those moments game modes that are going to give you some of your first packs. Start opening some of those packs, especially those that are untradeable, and those might give you players that plug and play right into your team and might actually change the shape of your team in the direction that you want to go with your squad, even if you have a starter squad already planned. So, that is one thing that I would say, if you go untradeable, you can't lose any coins anyway. Or, if you have a mostly untradeable team, half of it's untradeable, half of it's tradeable, you're going to automatically lose less coins there and you're going to set yourself up for a better future in the first couple of weeks of the game to buy bigger and better players, to make more investments. And when you pack somebody that's emotional, like maybe you pack somebody that you're like, "Man, I'm never going to use this card." But you pop them in for a couple games squad battles, your first game of rivals, and you're like, "Wait, this guy's actually cracked. I found a hidden gem." It makes it more emotional too when you kind of go with that first owner route and that untradeable route. So, that'd be my tip number four, go untradeable. Now, tip number five is a little bit of a different one. If you do come across some coins, let's say you open some packs, you get a little bit lucky with a pull, look at rare cards, high-rated cards, because this year in the FC 27 market with the changes that EA have said they are going to make with more tradeable coins and tradeable packs in rewards, and even like end of match coins and SP after every single match, this might be one of the more healthy early game markets than we've seen in the past couple of years. Like even this last year, Lamin Yamal as a very popular card, a good investment we would normally say at the start of a new game, he reached a low point of 268,000 coins. He popped up for a couple days at 300k, but then he didn't hold his price into October. He went down to 190 90,000 coins. Take a look back at what a healthy market used to look like in FIFA FC. Now, Son Heung-min Son dropped a little bit on the full game release back in FIFA 22, 258,000 coins. For the next month as FUT Champs opened up, as people got more coins and they were upgrading their teams, these higher rated meta cards, the cards that people can't afford right away at the beginning of the game, just rose and rose and rose. He went from 250 all the way to 315,000 coins. And sure, there was a market crash, there always is as we get into October and into November, and especially this year with GTA 6 is going to destroy the market, all right? We're even talking about that market crash now on the first day of September. It's going to happen. I'm hoping though that in the first couple of weeks, maybe even the first month of this game, we can actually have a healthy market with the changes that EA say they're making to rewards this year. So, if you do get some coins straight away in the first couple of days, I would start to look at icons, heroes, and those higher rated gold cards that hopefully we will feel more safe holding on to in those first couple of weeks. But for now, as you click around at the Twittersphere and as you see tweets like this of starter squads, have fun, build up, dream out those starter teams of players that you look that you you like the way they look in your team, potentially in your team. Start planning that out because the more time that you kind of just, you know, click through FUTBIN and build a starter team like this, the more you're going to kind of know like, "Oh, wait, I just packed this Thuram. When I get into FC 27, oh, I'm going to link him to Jed Spence and Kalulu because those are good Serie A links that I can get some chemistry with and those are very good players that aren't going to be that expensive." So, just click around on Footbin and start building those starter teams. And again, just remember when you think, "Oh, man, that Koussou now would be sick in my starter team." Just remember how much his price is going to drop off after Yeah, that Koussou now card looks really cool, but after we get the first Premier League center-back SBC of the year, or you know, people get enough coins to upgrade from that Koussou now to a card with better defending and better physical, maybe he's not that great in game as well, you're going to see the player prices drop off like crazy. So, that's my five tips for building a starter team and any building a successful starter team and starting your FC 27 off in a successful way. Make sure you guys get subscribed to channel cuz we're going to have FC 27 videos incoming heavy with preparation, with tips and tricks and everything as we get started for the game. This is my favorite time of the year talking about all this stuff. It is so fun. You can go super in-depth in it, but you can also keep it simple. Don't buy the big cards, don't buy Premier League, and follow the other tips that we mentioned and you'll be good when you start up FC 27. So, there won't be as many videos in the next week as I am going on a holiday with the missus. I did want to shout that out.
