Video summary
The video begins with a live day trading session on Tuesday, August 18th, where the host assesses a generally bearish pre-market environment across major indices. The S&P futures were down 44 points, while the Nasdaq led the decline at over 1.38%, followed by significant drops in semiconductor stocks like Nvidia and AMD. Despite the weakness in tech giants, some sectors showed resilience, with oil and natural gas rising, soybeans turning green, and Home Depot gaining ground after reporting earnings. The host also noted volatility in commodities and currencies, with gold and silver falling while Bitcoin dipped slightly, setting a cautious tone for the day's trading strategy amidst a "no news week" except for upcoming FOMC minutes.
As the market opened, the trader executed a one-day-to-expiration (1DTE) Iron Condor on the S&P 500 but admitted to missing an opportunity to hedge with a second position due to oversight. Throughout the morning, the focus shifted heavily toward cryptocurrency trading, specifically targeting Solana (COIN), which displayed relative weakness compared to other assets like MSTR and Circle. The trader utilized limit orders to build a short position in COIN puts as the price approached pre-market lows, aiming to capitalize on potential further declines while avoiding being caught in a "face ripper" or sudden bounce that could trigger stop-losses. This approach highlighted a disciplined risk management style where the trader waited for specific price rejections before adding to positions or exiting trades.
The trading narrative continued with mixed performance across individual stocks, as Tesla and Meta struggled near their previous day's lows while Netflix showed strength following its earnings report. The semiconductor sector faced intense selling pressure, with companies like Micron, Intel, and Broadcom hitting new session lows, dragging down the broader Nasdaq and Russell indices below pre-market levels. Amidst this choppy action, the host maintained a patient demeanor, emphasizing that the first hour of trading is crucial for setting the day's tone and advising viewers to prioritize patience over greed. The session concluded with the trader partially exiting the COIN position after it failed to break lower as anticipated, securing profits on the put options while acknowledging that the market remained in a state of indecision until further decisive moves occurred.

I'm going to be doing a 1DTE Iron
Condor. Man, I'm kind of kicking myself.
I was really planning on
uh
well, I I guess I shouldn't say that. I
I considered a downside vertical with my
1DTE yesterday. Didn't do it. Ended up
going from a winner to a small loser.
But that's how it goes. You got to you
got to take the action.
Talk is cheap, right, Watson?
I also forgot to put on my hedge iron
condor today. Okay. So, I'm going to do
I'm going to enter one of those right at
the open.
Apple's getting a little strong going
into the open right at previous day
high. There's the bell.
Looks like S&P expected to move a little
over 29 points for the day.
So, I'll wait for my 1DTE to fire.
I guess I won't do a hedged iron condor.
Wow.
I usually get about 10 or 11 bucks for
that iron condors trading it. Oh, there
we go. I just adjusted. Never mind.
Never mind.
All right, give me just a minute.
S&P getting a little bounce. NASDAQ
getting a little bounce.
All right, let me just lock these in.
One TTE is getting ready to fire
one. DTE just fired.
Get that posted. I'm going to hold off
on a um
DCTM. See, I just kind of watch price
action this morning.
S&P a little bounce back down. Same with
the NASDAQ.
Both the S&P and NASDAQ trading right
below pre-market lows.
Russell. Same thing with the Russell.
NASDAQ and Russell breaking below
pre-market low.

weak. SMCI is getting a b SNDK, SNDK,
SMCI and MU bouncing. AVGO, AMD
dropping, Intel dropping.
PLTR tried to go green. Getting pushed
back down. Indices coming down.
So, my BU calendar is just just at break

My Home Depot is
up about 20%.
indices trying to bounce.
Is Trump daddy already at it? What did
he say? Let's see.
There are no talks or conversations
going on or scheduled with the Islamic
Republic of Iran. The naval blockade
remains in full force in effect. The

detonated. Thank you for your attention
to this matter.

Everything else is bouncing, but Meta
not so much.
Do I create all my trading view tabs
daily?
No,
they are all saved, my friend. I would
not be doing that every day.
Tesla's still ripping.
Tesla going green.
Why is my key level not showing my
previous day close?
Well, Tesla's right unchanged basically.
Yeah, Watson. I'm a I'm a closet EMA
trader.
I have them I have them on my one minute
chart.
So, like if there's not a level around
and like gets really strong, I just
sometimes I'll click on those just to
use it use it as a line in the sand.
Not very often, but
Google bouncing.
PLTR back up to highs.
I'd like to I'd like to see the S&P
above pre-market high
to uh
start getting serious about a long meta.
Still going through lows.
Watson, did you stick to your guns
yesterday and not take any Monday trades
or did you fall victim
like a good good DGEN? Okay, one SPX
trade. Okay, it's not bad.
What a film. Winner or loser?
Good.
Tesla back in the red a little bit. Just
kind of chopping around unchanged.
indices a little pullback.
Remember we are in a summer
no news week.
So,
I say that and then yesterday was a big
move outside the expected move to the
downside. But
we've got FOMC minutes tomorrow
afternoon, but that's the only red
folder event on the docket.
Chip starting to come down. SMH through
lows.
Crypto staying weak.

chop.

bad idea. I think it's I mean it's the
weakest, but
just still kind of
chopping in the first 15 minute range.
I'm going to give it I'm going to be
patient today, Watson. Patience.
Patient panda is what they call me.
Tesla trying to get back up after its
little pullback.
Today is Tuesday, lucky day. Remember,

PLTR is holding up pretty well.
Still this chop. Still within its first
15 minute range here.
Netflix
breaking above pre-market high.
kind of want to short Tesla here
below previous day low. Just kind of
make that big push up in yesterday's
close kind of rejecting.
But I'm not going to
just observing
Order cancelled.
Google order filled.
Chop.
Order filled.
Uhoh. Abosh is breaking out his
astrology for trading today.
That's when you know things are bad when
you got to turn to astrology for your
trading advice.
I'll have to I'll have to create that
astrology indicator for flux.
Yeah, I mean, I'm sure astrology works
as good as most indicators.
Every indicator, I should say.
Amazon back down to previous day low.
[snorts]
Oh yeah, rock paper scissors. That's
That's solid.
AMD going through lows.
Rock paper scissors is for those who
have kids and they start arguing about
who has to do what. There is no better
solution than rock paper scissors.
Boys, I need one of you guys to go get
the trash cans. Bring them in.
I did it last time. No, it's his turn.
Rock, paper, scissors. And they just
smile and they do it. And then whoever
loses goes and does it. It's It's
genius.
Chips getting
Chips's getting dippy here.
Yeah, Netflix is strong.
It's been quite strong since earnings.
Little blowoff bottom [clears throat]
looks like in Netflix.
PLTR still holding up well. Just kind of
chopping.
Google's still red but
holding up well. Not coming down with
the chips
and some of the others.
NASDAQ through lows, feeling the
weakness of the chips.
Crypto is just chopping. Coin.
Coin is under pre-market low.
Coin kind of looks like it wants to go
lower
on the daily
and the intraday.
I'm going to load up some 145 puts and
coin.
I'm going to start a put positioning
coin here.
Filled at 266 on the 145s.
I'll give it a little above uh previous
day low. We got pre-market lows. Not too
far above it, but
wanted to get it get in at previous day
low in case we just drop here
with all the weakness.
Oh yeah, IWM popped back up.
Tesla trying to bounce back up a little
bit.
I try to add some more coin at 255.

average is 260.
Still small. Still small position.
S&P just super chopped. NASDAQ is uh
still below pre-market lows.
Apple trying to push up to new highs
above previous day high.
Coin starting to come down.
I'm going to put an order at three bucks
to get out of some coin at put an order
at $3 to get out of some coin in case it
pops.
Price drops, puts pop.
Tesla just chopping between previous
days close and previous day low.
Apple kind of getting a little jumpy.
Meta still at lows.
Apple kind of looks like a little news
candleish.
S&P and NASDAQ little bounce.
PLTR going through highs.
All right. So, coin approaching that
pre-market low.
I'm going to wait to see how it reacts
here. I may add a little bit more. Still
undersized position, but
seen some bounces come in. So, I don't
want to get caught in a face ripper.
All right. Needs to reject here.
coin.
It's kind of right at pre-market low
here. I've got my order ready to cut if
it doesn't reject.
NASDAQ
little rejection.
Yeah, Bitcoin getting a little bouncy.
All
right, I'm going to add into coin.
All right, so my average now is 256.
MSTR ticked a new low.
Coin was acting the weakest of the
cryptos, but now MSTR is
order filled.
Order cancelled.
Apple staying strong.
Netflix just kind of paused.
Bitcoin pause trying to go green.
If we can get coin to follow MSTR,
that would be handy.
Hood staying weak.
Tesla rejecting a little bit again.
Yeah, MSTR putting in new lows.
Come on, coin.
You got to play some catchup now.
chip staying pretty weak. SMH at lows,
Intel at lows, AVGO, MU, AMD all at
lows.
[snorts]
NASDAQ through row through lows. Russell
back down to lows.
>> [snorts]
>> coin back to previous day low.
I've got an order at 275 to take some
off,
which is uh right near lows of day.
Should hit it.
order filled.
PLTR now rejecting.
Nvidia going through lows. Tesla still
rejecting.
S&P take the new low right at pre-market
lows.
coin. Get going.
I need some Momo.
Some heavy Momo to the downside.
MSTR is dropping like a rock.
I like the coin because it had relative
weakness earlier.
Circle's not doing much. Hood's not
doing much. Bitcoin rejected a little
bit so far. Trying to go green.
Order filled.
All
right. Coin starting to drop.
Apple holding strong.
There's 275 filled in coin.
Now let's get bloody.
Hood's starting to get weaker. So,
circle MSTR still weak down over 3%.
Don't need a little bounce at lows today
here.
Yeah, chips are getting pounded.
MU's down six. AMD down five and a half.
SNDK down over seven. SMH is down four
and a half itself. Intel's down f uh
seven.
SMCI down three.
S&P decent bounce off pre-market low to
get back in the pre-market chop.
[clears throat]
Coin back up to previous day low.
I'm not going to add here, but I'm just
going to hold what I've got.
might be a decent place to add though if
we get this continued weakness.
Amazon big bounce.
Meta can't buy a dip or can't buy a bid
to save its If
Yeah, my one DTE is up about 10%.
[snorts]
SpaceX just choppy
coin started to reject a little pop back
up to previous day low.
I don't like that bounce.
That's not what I wanted. Order filled.
Order cancelled.
Order filled. Back to pre-market low. I
need a rejection here.
Oh, Bitcoin popping
little pop above pre-market high
a little bounce. MSTR a little bounce.
All right, I've got my order ready to
cut here if it doesn't reject.
All
right, I'm going to cut.
Just needed another little leg lower.
Didn't want to give it to us.
So, I think I think that'll be a little
bit red. Yeah. Um All right. Well, I'm
going to wrap the stream here. If I see
anything else, I will post in the Day
Trade channel.
If not, I'm going to work on some other
trades here and I will see you all in
power hour. Cheers.
