David Bednar expressed that the atmosphere surrounding his team's return to the postseason is electric and rewarding after a long season filled with hard work. Although he emphasized that the team is not yet finished, he noted that it is genuinely fun to celebrate their achievement. Regarding the differences between facing pressure in the ninth inning during the postseason compared to the regular season, Bednar acknowledged that while the adrenaline might be slightly heightened, the approach remains consistent with every other game. He stressed the importance of treating each playoff appearance with the same focus as a standard match, advising to take it one pitch at a time rather than being overwhelmed by the stakes. This mindset ensures that the team maintains their composure and performance regardless of the high-pressure situation.
The excitement surrounding the pitching staff is immense, with Bednar praising the tremendous talent present in both the starting rotation and the bullpen. He expressed deep trust in all the pitchers on the roster, describing them as an awesome group to work with. For Bednar, the most anticipated aspect of October is the unique atmosphere created by playing together with his teammates, which represents everything they have worked for throughout the entire season. Ultimately, the combination of talent, mutual support, and shared purpose defines this team's journey back to the postseason.
