I still remember sitting in a chair as they took her into the operating room feeling terrified and helpless. I train every day at the very hospital she's being treated at, and I even know the doctors working her case personally. But like you, I would have done anything to know in that moment that she was going to be okay. We've all experienced this at some point. Maybe it was cancer of a loved one, maybe heart disease, maybe a traumatic injury. And you know what it's like to be on the outside looking in wishing you could help. I'm Justin Houck's, the CEO and co-founder of Precision Jet. At Precision Jet, we're improving surgical outcomes by revolutionizing a device that's used in every single operating room, the syringe. Here's the problem. Accuracy is hard. Getting that needle tip in the exact place you need isn't easy. And when it goes wrong, it can cause pain, lost quality of life, and in severe cases even death. An estimated 18,000 deaths a year occur from poor needle placement during surgery. So how is it currently solved? The first way is by practice, but as we all know, practice takes repetition, which results in mistakes. Doctors have come to make devices like this one that are just jerry-rigged together, and they've never been tested, so they're quite unsafe. And finally, the products on the market that do help with needle accuracy are extremely expensive and very limited in their use case. Precision Jet is a reusable, rechargeable external syringe attachment that solves this problem. Precision Jet is held with a pencil-like grip, something we've been practicing since children to give the user maximum accuracy when they guide the needle. Let's look at our internal motor system. This generates zero movement when you inject or pull out the fluid from the body. That is something physically impossible to do by hand. The opportunity to save money here is massive. Hospitals lose a billion dollars a year from complications arising from these failed procedures. When fully realized, Precision Inject is going to reduce that fivefold. That means 800 million dollars a year in savings. This is a huge market that keeps on growing. The customers we can win with the product we have today are orthopedists and anesthesiologists in our tri-state area who make up a hundred eighty million dollar annual market. We make money in two simple ways. First, by selling Precision Inject, the device itself, and second, by selling our custom-fitted disposable syringes. So, why now? Since 2017, Medicare and Medicaid pay doctors not just based on the quantity of cases they do, but on the quality. This means doctors get a 9% bonus or pay cut, depending on how their patients actually do. Additionally, the last decade has seen the mass production of cheap rechargeable batteries thanks to an odd hero, the vaping industry. Our product is powered by this exact five-dollar vape battery. We're in the process of raising two million dollars to develop a high-fidelity prototype, establish small-volume manufacturing, and most importantly, get FDA approval. I'm the CEO, my co-founder Kieran is our CTO and a workhorse in the lab, and Reddy is a chief neurosurgeon that has over a decade experience in bringing devices through FDA clinical trials. Our extended team brings in engineers as well as doctors from professional sports teams. So, this all started a couple years ago when I woke up at 2:00 in the morning cuz I had a dream of a device, and so I scribbled this out on my phone cuz I didn't want to forget it when I woke up for the day. Flash forward to the next year, Kieran and I co-founded the company, and in February of this year we filed our provisional patents. So, we wanted to get early validation by sending letters of support to the greatest hospitals in the country. First, we got a letter of support back from one big name, and then another.
