Could You Stand Beside Imam Hussein (AS)? | Face to Face - Episode 9
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video explores the profound spiritual connection between believers and Imam Hussein (AS), portraying him not merely as a historical figure but as a living presence in the hearts and consciences of the faithful. The narrative delves into the brutal reality faced by Imam Hussein and his family, where traditional weapons like arrows transformed from symbols of protection into instruments of cruelty against them. Despite the terror of seeing spears and arrows raining down, the story emphasizes that Imam Hussein stood alone after all his companions and family were martyred, yet he maintained an unyielding dignity. His honor is depicted as a global revolutionary force rather than just an Islamic one, offering a sanctuary for those burdened by the turmoil of the world and seeking refuge from their own suffering.
A central theme of the transcript is the emotional intimacy between the devotee and Imam Hussein, illustrated through a poignant memory of a father comforting his crying child on the battlefield. This imagery serves as a metaphor for how Imam Hussein welcomes the broken-hearted, wiping away tears and exhaustion just as he did in Karbala. The speaker reflects on the transformation of letters filled with promises into blades during times of trial, yet asserts that the gate of mercy remains ever open for those who turn to him. The video suggests that loving Imam Hussein is a natural response to his immense kindness and generosity, where he gives freely without expecting anything in return, making it impossible for sincere people to resist this blessing.
The discussion also addresses the challenge of maintaining faith amidst despair and the temptation to lose hope, using the metaphor of standing beside Imam Hussein as an act of ultimate devotion. The speaker questions why some individuals feel driven crazy by their love for him while others struggle with doubt, ultimately concluding that true sincerity leads to a deep bond where one feels honored by his presence. Through supplications made on the Day of Arafah and personal vows, the narrative reinforces the idea that Imam Hussein acts as a guardian, protector, and guide who intercedes for believers, forgiving their sins and granting them martyrdom on his path if it is their destiny.
Ultimately, the video concludes with a powerful affirmation that the love for Imam Hussein transcends time and space, connecting the living with the martyred across fourteen centuries. The speaker expresses a desire to be written in the book of the faithful, asking God to grant them the honor of being close to Imam Hussein and to forgive the sins of their loved ones through his intercession. This emotional journey ends with a commitment to remain true to the covenant established by Imam Hussein, viewing him as an eternal source of comfort and strength who waits behind the curtain to welcome those who seek him with pure hearts.

The honor of Hussein is to be given a chance to talk about
Hussein and the
honor of Hussein. Hussein does not need us.
Hussein is
great, not on the Islamic level, no.
Hussein is the revolutionary
on the global level. Today, when we read all
the books, we
move
[snoring sounds]
[music]
Come closer. Don't be afraid
of these arrows. Come touch them. Feel
how sharp and cold they are. But would
you believe it? These ws at first.
[Music]
There were letters. White pat promised
come. We will never leave you alone. My
dad [music] would kiss every single one
of them. He would breathe in their sense
but then I don't know what happened. The
gr changed and suddenly [Music]
Their letters turned into blades.
They rained from the sky. [Music] They
pierced our skin. They tore through my
uncle's hands. [Singing]
[Music]
Let me tell you something that nobody
else knows. On that final [music] day
[singing] when my dad was about to leave
everyone was weeping. I stood in the
corner swallowing my tears trying
[Music] so hard to hide them so he
wouldn't be sad. [Singing]
But my dad saw me. [Music] He
dismounted his horse and he sat right there
on the dusty ground. Just be in my
[music] height.
He h me so tight with warm hand whpped
[Music] away my tears and whispered
please don't c when you c it my heart
you know my was so kind he could never
bear to see anyone in pain when someone
was sad he would w his arms around them
right away why do your eyes so
your heart is tired [Music] to
It feels as though there is a heavy
locked inside your chest. One you never
told the soul. [Music]
It feels like you've been running for a
very long time wandering through the
noise and chaos of this world. Just
searching for a place to rest. Searching
for someone to hold you.
Yes, it's you. You are the very my has
been waiting to race.
My dad hasn't changed, [Music] you
know. I swear if he sees your eyes wet
with cheers, he would grieve you before
you even yourself. He truly [Music]
likes it when someone comes to his
door with a broken heart and leaves
emptyhanded.
You are a friend of my dad's ar [Music]
I can tell. Because your eyes carry
the very essence of his kindness. Look,
[singing][music] walk through these areas.
Don't fear them anymore. It's over now.
My dad is up there just behind those
curtain waiting for you. He wants to
come and wipe away your exhaustion.
Just like the day [Music] he on the
ground wiped away my tears. I cann't walk
any further than this. This is my
boundary. You must go all upon yourself
and tell him, "Father, look, your friend
[music] has finally come. The one who
missed you so terribly. Stay right
here. Take [music] a deep breath.
My right is
Ruqayya, and by
God, I
mean, describing my
raising of the helmets is a desperate, miserable, orphaned attempt
[music]
to honor and venerate these heads.
I couldn't bear to see a helmet made in the
21st century,
remanufactured and thrown on the ground because it holds the
symbolism of Hussein. So what about the one who saw the head
hanging on the spears? The head of Hussein and his family
hanging on the spears.

you have come to this seeking
refuge [music]
from the claimant of the world, from its
turmoil, and from the burden that has laid
[music]
upon your heart.
Do not think you are alone. [music]
Do not think your suffering is unseen.
I know you. [Music]
I know what lies heavy upon you. I know
the grieves you have concealed
and the tears you shed in the darkness.
The tears witnessed by none,
God.
[Singing]
I heard even the [Music]
whisper of your heart.
Once letters came [Music] to me in
great number of
pages adorned with promises, words of loyalty, words of devotion,
but when the hour of trial descended
[Music]
those words vanished,
and today from this place I call you my [Music] draw

but be aware that the notes of yours are not for you.
The gate of mercy is

open,
and with it
there shall always be a place for you.

and be at peace.
[Music][Singing]
When I stood in the
center
and saw the spears and arrows, how they were heading, I felt
terror.
I felt the [Music]
human feeling that happens to me when I see how many
spears and arrows are heading towards me, and
I am on Certain that this is not a real picture, it's just a hanging image.
I remembered the stand of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

Imam Hussein
[Music]
Imam Hussein,
this giant, this great one, who stood alone
in the field after all his companions and all his family were martyred. When he
saw all this hatred
and enmity, all these spears, whether human spears
or material spears, the looks of the people, the looks of the criminals, they are
spears, the
looks of the criminals towards Hussein and towards his
family. This is Hussein, the one with the honor, the one who would
n't accept that anyone should see the shadow of Zainab, peace be upon her.
[Music]
May first of all, mayucky [
Music]
Hamad Tawfiq Abdullah Hamad Hamad, we were afraid,
but then a
break came on
about a sheikh talking about a
supplication: "O God, make me honored by Hussein." I was drawn to
the supplication,
but I didn't know what it meant: "O God, make me honored by Hussein."
Imam Hussein [Music]
[Music]
On the day of Arafah,
it came to my mind I remember this supplication
[music]
in the courtyard of Karbala
between the two shrines [music]
after I performed the prayer. I
said, "O God, make me worthy of Hussein [music]." A
supplication whose
greatness I [music] didn't know. I didn't know how quickly it is
answered. I didn't know that on the
Day of Arafah I was making this supplication [music]
and then someone
from your esteemed channel would call me and seat me
on the pulpit of Hussein, in
front of Hussein
[music].
One,
okay
[music]
in front of Hussein.
The problem is, there are more than one question for
more than one person. Should I direct
the question to Zuhair,
or to Habib al-
Shayda, the great sheikh,
or should I direct a question to Abis
[music]
[music] in
front of Hussein?
But the problem is that I have the answers
[music]
today. Do I have the right to say to Abis, "Why did you
go crazy? Hussein drove us crazy before you,
after 1400 years. Now we are going crazy for Hussein, so what about
Abis, who saw in Hussein what he couldn't bear?"
Or maybe it's a question that could be a request. God willing, God willing,
I always say, "
O Habib, write me down in the book." Your visitors
because [music] at the notebook, Habib Al-Zahir, God willing, I have been
saddened by Abbas, may God grant him
our intercession, God willing, God willing, be sincere
with God, be sincere in your hearts, so God Almighty has
guided them to love Hussein.
Today you have Hussein, overflowing, overflowing, and that is why the
sincere people close to Hussein cannot
resist this blessing,
peace be upon him.
He gave them security. You are in Han, tomorrow go,
God be with you. They
could not leave him, they could not
leave him.
Now I would like to show you the
companion sitting behind that curtain.

not because he is kind [music]
because Hussein cannot be resisted [

because Hussein gives it to you in cash.
This is what you see, this is a merchant, a
merchant, this is because he knows the path of Hussein, he is not a loser

Not this question,
why with all these mistakes
that I serve him with, and
he loves him, why does he love me
and why do I love him? Of course, of course, they
love me and they love you, Hussein, bring to the master

[music] God willing, God willing
[singing]
He means it's not me, and
if I were 73, he would be martyred before him, not after him, so
he promises me that he will pray for me,
run to me like I run to Abbas,
and pray for me to be forgiven my sins, and we say to
him, we remain true to the covenant of my master, we remain true to the one who bestowed upon
us his compassion, mercy, prayers, and goodness, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of
the merciful.
I say, O God, make me honored by Hussein
on a personal level, O God, make me honored by Hussein
[singing],
and of course I pray for my mother and father and my family and
all the people who have passed through my life,
all the people I have met, all the people
whose happiness I was a reason for, or in the
important thing, O God, forgive them by the honor of Hussein,
and grant me martyrdom on the path of Hussein,
even if after a while. In
the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. O
God, make
every one of
Your [music] guardians, the Proof, the
son of Hassan,
Your blessings be upon him and
upon your
forefathers,
at this hour and at every hour, a guardian, a protector, a leader, a helper, a guide, and an
eye,
until
You settle him in Your presence willingly and grant him
enjoyment
therein.
