Video summary
The reviewer introduces the Contigo Auto Seal 10 oz travel mug as an excellent choice for those seeking a portable, microplastic-free solution for their daily coffee routine. Purchased specifically to avoid the disposable cups found at chains like Tim Hortons and Starbucks, this stainless steel tumbler offers a clean, modern aesthetic that avoids the bulky appearance of many competitors. The build quality is immediately impressive, featuring a solid stainless steel body with a smooth finish that resists scratching easily. While the mug includes an Auto Seal lid designed to prevent leaks during walking or commuting, the reviewer notes that this feature is often unnecessary for stationary use at coffee shops, making the cup function effectively as a simple, high-quality vessel when used without the lid.
A key aspect of the user experience involves how one interacts with the rim and the liquid inside. The reviewer emphasizes drinking directly from the stainless steel rim after removing the lid, highlighting that the rolled edge is smooth enough to prevent lip cuts or burns once it has cooled slightly from hot coffee. Although the metal rim may feel warm initially when filled with hot beverages, this sensation dissipates quickly and is comparable to touching a hot spoon, posing no real danger if one takes a moment to acclimate. The 10 oz capacity is particularly well-suited for standard small coffees, providing a compact size that eliminates excess space while remaining easy to carry. Additionally, the bottom of the mug features a rubberized grip that prevents slipping, adding a layer of safety and stability to an otherwise minimalist design.
Despite its many strengths, the reviewer points out a few practical considerations regarding the lid mechanism. Because the Auto Seal system is more complex than a standard screw-on lid, it can be harder to clean thoroughly and may trap dirt inside over time. Furthermore, the drinking opening is not as wide as that of larger competitors like Yeti mugs, which might affect those who prefer a very wide mouth for sipping. The reviewer also clarifies that while the Auto Seal feature is useful for active commutes, it is not essential if the user primarily sits down to drink their coffee. Ultimately, the price point on Amazon Prime offers exceptional value, often costing around twenty dollars compared to similar premium brands like Yeti that frequently sell for significantly more.
In conclusion, this Contigo travel mug stands out as a perfect option for individuals who prioritize simplicity, aesthetics, and material safety in their daily coffee consumption. It successfully delivers a premium feel without the high price tag of other stainless steel tumblers, making it an accessible choice for everyday use. Whether used at a local coffee shop or carried for a commute, the mug provides a comfortable drinking experience free from plastic contact and weird tastes. The reviewer strongly recommends this product for anyone looking for a small, durable, and well-built cup that balances functionality with a sleek design, ultimately expressing surprise at how good it feels given its affordable cost.

This is the best portable stainless
steel tumbler. Hello fian, this is Ahmed
Dan. Today I'm going to be taking a look
at Contigo stainless steel tumbler uh
which I've been using to have coffee at
Tim Hortons and I'm going to be sharing
my thoughts based on uh simple and
practical real life use. So let me show
you the exact name and model first on
Amazon. Uh this is not a paid review. I
do not do any affiliate links,
subscriptions or Patreon or anything.
Everything is honest and based on my
real use. So when if you're searching on
Amazon, this is what you're going to
look for. And this is the exact model I
have. And this is a 10 oz. And the full
name is uh Contigo auto seal 10 oz
travel mug. So the reason I bought it uh
I wanted to eliminate microplastic and I
wanted to like you know minim minimize
the uh cups you get when you're drinking
coffee at outside coffee shops like Tim
Hortons or Starbucks. Uh so that's why I
decided this. I do not need a big travel
mug or handle. I just wanted something
clean, modern and comfortable to drink
from. And the Contigo exactly matched
that profile. So when I opened it, the
build quality surprised me. The
stainless steel body feels solid and the
finish is clean and
the design is minimal. It doesn't look
like, you know, bulky or cheap. And the
latest contiguous auto seal system auto
seal which is designed for uh spillproof
travel. So as you can see that you know
you can lock it unlock it uh and then
this is going to make it leak proof. Uh
so I'm not going to be using this
feature most of the times because I
don't drink coffee when I'm walking. But
if you are looking for something this is
something to know. And also it has like
you know uh protection from getting uh
colder uh so it keeps like you know warm
inside.
Now the mechanism is more complex than a
simple screw lid. So it can get dirty
inside uh the normal that's the normal
you know for this type of lid. So that's
just something to remember.
So one thing I want to mention that if
you can drink from the tumbler
without the uh lid that's what I do. So
you have to just like you know kind of
remove the head and just drink it from
here. And the rim is like you know very
smooth stainless steel as you can see
that you know you're not going to uh cut
your lips. It's rolled and comfortable.
It's not sharp and it doesn't burn your
lips. Now I noticed that most videos
they are not showing like you know lead
off uh because they are focusing on auto
seal feature but not in real life. So,
but in real life uses, I'm not like, you
know, uh this is just like a regular
cup. That's how I'm going to be using
and doesn't like, you know, leech or
releasing microplastics or or other
stuff because this is stainless steel.
Now, the rim warm warms up a little bit
when you power hot coffee, but not in a
dangerous way. It's the same as like any
stainless steel spoon and bowl. After a
few seconds, it's comfortable. Just like
you know keep in mind that if you're
just directly uh sipping from here just
try to feel the heat first before you
sip. The 10 oz size is matches Tim
Horton's small coffee perfectly. So it's
like you know no extra space no
oversized filling. It's compact and easy
to carry. Uh the there's I think there's
also like you know 12 oz or 20 oz but
those are bulkier for me that's why I
didn't buy it. The still steel body is
strong and the finish doesn't scratch
easily as you can see that you know it
has very smooth and nice finish. The
bottom has a good grip. It's like you
know rubberized grip. So if you like you
know put something here it kind of
protects from slipping and this is like
premium tumbler even the price is low.
So for me the best part is simplicity.
Uh, you know, I just walk into Tim
Hortons or a coffee shop, hand it to the
staff, sit down, remove the lid, and
sip. No plastic touching the coffee, no
weird taste, no weird or bulky feeling.
And this is a perfect for minimal setup.
Now, let's go over the some of the pros
and cons very quickly. Uh, pros, a
smooth stainless rim, compact, premium,
auto seal for walking, comfortable lead
of sipping, and great price to quality
ratio. I paid only like $20 on Amazon
Prime, but if you're uh purchasing
regular, then probably you're looking at
like $30 Canadian or in that range or
even $25 Canadian the regular price. Uh
I wanted to buy the uh Yeti, a similar
tumbler, but it didn't go on sale or
it's always like, you know, $38. So for
$20, I decided to buy this one, which is
a much better deal. and Tumbl Yeti is
always like, you know, bulkier and
taller. So, this fits me more than Yeti.
And the cons are is that the lid
mechanism can get dirty. So, just be
mindful. As you can see, it's kind of
complicated
uh because of the mechanism to prevent
it from, you know, uh coming out the
coffee. And uh the mouth looks like you
have to sip it here, but probably it's
not the widest mouth compared to Yeti.
And auto seal is not needed if you
always sit inside. And a stainless steel
rim uh warms slightly, but which is kind
of expected. So who's this for? If you
want a small clean stainless tumbler for
everyday coffee, especially to sit uh
in a coffee shop and uh drink, then this
is a very good choice. or if you want to
commute or walk with your drink, then
the auto seal lid helps a lot. Uh final
thoughts, the tumbler surprised me. It's
simple, comfortable, and wellbuilt, as
you can see. And for the price, it
doesn't make sense how good it feels.
And if you want a compact like you small
stainless cup for daily coffee, this one
just stands out for the price and the
aesthetics.
So, this is not a paid or affiliate
review. Thank you for watching and I'll
see you in the next video.
