Aaron just said that he thought that you
maybe pitched better than that final
line even indicated. Did you think that
out there?
>> Yeah, I I thought we we made a lot of
really good pitches tonight. I thought
you know, you got to try to limit those
as a pitcher to limit the damage. I
think in Walker's case was a
well-executed and convicted pitch and um
he squared it up and he put a really
good swing on it. So,
that's frustrating, but um
you know, credit to him on the swing.
>> Garrett, we've seen George make a lot of
really special plays since he's come up
with six errors in six games now. Just
what do you make of when a player has a
defensive struggle like that cuz it's
not usually the case. It's usually, you
know, hitter struggle, pitcher struggle,
but defense is usually not something we
see.
>> Yeah, that's an interesting point. I
mean, you know, for me
I really look at our teammates and look
at how hard they're working and how
focused they are and where their
preparation is and if they're putting
themselves in a really good position to
have success. So, as a teammate, those
are the standards we hold ourselves
accountable to. Errors happen and
unfortunately,
um sometimes they happen in groups for
everybody. So, uh I think it's just
important to remember he's a young
player and uh
he's working his tail off to get better.
>> I know you're not pitching in this Red
Sox series coming up, but what's your
thoughts on where you guys are in the
standings uh
and going into a really big four-game
series?
>> Yeah, definitely um
in [clears throat] striking distance.
Obviously, want to be performing better
up to this point in the season.
Uh all these series are big from here on
out. So,
um
it's really just about taking it one
game at a time, no matter who your
opponent is and trying to play the best
brand of baseball that you can.
