Today we also remember families. The
husbands, wives, the parents who lost
sons and daughters, the brothers and
sisters, the children who grew up
without a mother or a father or a
grandma or grandpa.
We remember the innocent who began an
ordinary day and never made it home.

the fire academy. It was on September
11th that the full magnitude of my own
oath came clear to me. In the 25 years
since I've tried to honor the
firefighters we lost that day, by
carrying the lessons of their sacrifice
throughout my career,
make sure that we remember what happened
25 years ago
and those that we lost and the impact
that it had to those folks directly, but
also to a nation as a whole and that it
changed our lives and the way we live
forever.
Each of us have a part to play because
as Americans, we are all patriots
and it shouldn't take a devastating
terror attack to bring us together. Let
today be a remembrance, a reminder of
