Video summary

The speaker introduces himself as a professor at the Institute of Food Science and Technology within the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, while simultaneously serving as an expert for FAO's OCOP project in Georgia. This initiative operates under the "One Country, One Priority Product" framework, which aims to support nations by enhancing their production quality and capacity while helping them access new markets through specific products. The speaker notes that this marks his first visit to Georgia, where his primary mission is to engage with government officials and industry professionals to better understand the country's specific demands regarding grape wine. His focus extends across the entire value chain of the Georgian wine industry, covering production, storage, processing, and most critically, marketing. The speaker emphasizes that a central goal of this collaboration is to facilitate communication between Chinese experts and local stakeholders to address these multifaceted needs. By leveraging the expertise available through the FAO project, the initiative seeks to provide targeted support that aligns with Georgia's strategic selection of wine as its priority product for international development assistance. The work conducted so far under this program has already demonstrated tangible benefits for the Georgian sector. Specifically, the collaboration has successfully contributed to increasing both production capacities and overall quality standards within the industry. This progress validates the effectiveness of the "One Country, One Product" approach in delivering practical solutions that empower local producers to compete more effectively in global markets while maintaining high standards of excellence.
