Abikoye Wuraola, a technology and business operations professional, shares his positive experience working with dbrownconsulting during his early career while serving as the Head of IT at Lagoon Hospital. He recounts how the firm assisted his organization in preparing financial models for a capital raise initiative, a process that required deep access to core business data such as patient numbers, admissions, procedures, and prescriptions. As the custodian of this critical information, Abikoye was impressed by the consultant's passionate approach and willingness to collaborate closely with the hospital team to ensure every aspect of the project was thoroughly understood and executed correctly.
The standout quality he observed was the consultant's professional demeanor, which combined deep expertise with a supportive attitude that made him feel like a true partner in the exercise rather than just an external vendor. Abikoye notes that the team approached their work with high ethical standards, ensuring transparency and leaving no loose ends or gaps that could lead to future issues for the client. >> Okay, my name is Abikoye Wuraola. I am a
technology professional
and also [music]
business operation professional manager.
I have
transited [music]
into
business operations management from my
technology background.
I had an encounter [music] with DD
Consulting in one of my earliest career
>> [music]
>> where I had worked as the head of IT at
Lagoon Hospital.
>> [music]
>> And I have had interactions with DD
Consulting on one of the projects
[music] that they did for the hospital
then in which I was involved.
This was how I got to know [music]
about this organization. The
organization that I I was working for
>> [music]
>> was going to go through some
capital raise for some projects that we
wanted.
And DD Consulting
was going to help him
preparation of [music] financial model
that was going to be used for
that's
capital [music] raise.
As the head of IT, I I was the custodian
of the [music]
of the business database. There are
things that we call business [music]
drivers. It was a hospital. So, things
that are related to the number of
patients [music] that you see on daily
basis, number of admission, number of
procedures that are being carried out in
the hospital, number of prescriptions.
[music] Things that you need the
the core data that you need to able to
show how profitable [music]
the organization was, the impact that
that project was going to make on the
organization. I sat on the data. And so,
I had to provide that data for the
consultant who was going to work on
this. What stood out
>> [music]
>> for me was
the the attitude that
the consultant brought into the into the
project. They [music]
They was so passionate about what they
were doing. It occurred to me that they
knew what they were doing outright and
they were very very willing to work with
us in terms of looking at the data get
the data sent to them. They would come
back with feedback. Can we look at this
in this perspective?
Can we generate it [music] this
dimension in mind and all those things?
But
I I saw a core professional who first of
all was very knowledgeable about what
what he was [music] doing and very
passionate. He was very supportive
because he
>> [music]
>> the way he approached the work was like,
"No, this is my It's as [music] if uh
the consultant was the one that was even
going through that exercise with you.
Understand and
was willing to work with us to [music]
make sure that everything that we intend
to do
to make that project successful was So,
it was a very very
rewarding encounter. I also learned from
>> [music]
>> the sort of attitude that was brought to
the project.
I believe it was a success [music]
because what we needed to do after all
was done.
I can compare them to the the McKinseys
of this world, the [music] KPMG, the big
ones because they actually know what
they are doing. I've worked with
a lot of other [music] professionals
and I know that
if what they do can [music] best be
compared to to the best that's available
out there.
I'm talking about the attitudes they
[music]
to work and
they they also ethically
>> [music]
>> when they approach
the work that they do
and it's very [music] very important
ethically
in terms of ensuring that all the issues
that [music] has to do with
human nature
perspective into whatever they were
doing
>> [music]
>> approaching the fall and doing very
transparent
everything that
>> [music]
>> they they did. That's in itself ensures
that they
uh [music] puts
the customer or their clients in mind to
make sure that all loose ends are
perfectly tied and [music]
there's no lacuna that will give way to
any sort of issues
thereafter.
I know that
>> [music]
>> the company will go places. I just
compare them to the Martins and this
one. So I believe I I believe [music]
that
the company will do have the
the [music] sort of clients that they
need to be able to give the best.
>> [music]
>> The impact that they are making in the
society is great and I can only pray
that they continue to soar and
everything.
Happy 20th anniversary to De Brown
Consulting. I wish you well always.
