Video summary
The video documents the step-by-step process of transforming a set of wheels and an aluminum sheet into a custom cargo trailer that doubles as a wheelbarrow. The creator begins by preparing the materials, noting the need to clean the aluminum despite minor imperfections, and utilizes a chainsaw-cut wooden plank as a makeshift bending tool since a proper metal bender is unavailable. A key design constraint identified early on is ensuring the axle presses against the wheel bearings to keep them clamped together, preventing them from falling apart during use. The builder carefully bends the sheet metal into a box shape, intentionally offsetting the weight distribution so that one end is heavier; this ensures stability when pushing the trailer by hand like a wheelbarrow, preventing it from tipping over easily.
Once the main body is formed, the creator focuses on structural integrity and attachment methods, deciding to use bolts instead of rivets to allow for future modifications or disassembly. To address uneven bends that caused one side of the cart to be taller than the other, a wedge of solid plastic is inserted to level the structure and add extra strength. The top edge is reinforced with square tubing to prevent wobbling, and handles are attached to facilitate manual movement. For the connection point between the trailer and the car, a nested pipe system is constructed to create a robust hitch that can withstand significant stress without wearing out quickly. This hitch is designed with enough rotational freedom to handle the turning radius of the vehicle while remaining secure under load.
The final phase involves mounting the trailer to the rear of the supercar using two straight pieces connected to the car's frame, ensuring the attachment point sits about seven or eight inches off the ground to clear exhaust components and other obstacles. After completing the assembly, the creator conducts a series of tests with passengers inside to verify the build's strength and handling characteristics. The trailer proves capable of carrying approximately 250 pounds without issue, and the creator successfully demonstrates its utility by driving over bumps and utilizing a differential lock when one wheel lifts off the ground. Overall, the project results in a highly stable, versatile cargo solution that functions effectively both as a towed trailer and a hand-pushed wagon, meeting all the initial requirements for durability and maneuverability.

So, I've got this set of wheels here,
and they have spindles with nice little
bearings and stuff, and
I've got this stick, which isn't
perfectly straight, but it's straight
enough. I want to turn this into a
wagon, like a trailer for my car, my my
supercar. And I also want to be able to
move this thing by hand. So, I want I
want it to be like a like a wheelbarrow
or a wagon.
The only significant stipulation here is
that this has to push against the
bearings because otherwise that like the
bearings need to be kind of clamped
together or else they fall apart. So,
okay brain, you're telling me I should
start with this. Okay. I've got this
sheet of 3003
aluminum aluminum. supposed to be pretty
corrosion resistant.
And uh God, I wish I could get it
without all this crap on it. I don't
need this. I don't care about a few
little scratches.
Oh, this is so much easier when I have a
kid to help me.
I don't have a metal bender that can
handle this, so I'm going to have to do
it caveman style.
This is a piece of wood I cut with a
chainsaw years ago. Actually, it's
pretty straight.
Oh, good job, Jamie. Straight enough for
this. At least
2 in is pretty thick material to do
this, but
see if we can do it.
It's starting to move.
[snorts]
All right, there's one.
Not bad.
Well, that was a lot of Banging.
Looking pretty good, though.
All right, what's next? Attach it to the
wheels or Yeah, let's attach it to the
wheels next.
I don't want it totally in the middle. I
want a little bit toward one end.
So, yeah.
So, the handles and the connector will
be at that end. Or maybe it'll be at
this end.
Doesn't matter.
[snorts]
Okay. [sighs]
So, that way there'll be a slightly more
weight at this end. So, if I'm
wheelbarrowing from this end, it, you
know, it doesn't just tip over all time.
All right. I'm going to want something
between this and this so that the axle
doesn't end up wearing through,
you know, the thing. Hold on. Let's do a
layer.
That should be enough.
All right.
To bend that into the right shape.
Okay. Let's see.
A little bit up.
Okay. Put that right in the middle.
Right. Yeah. Right in the middle.
Close enough.
And then
there are three.
How do we do? Ah, some good looking
stuff right there. Yeah.
Squeeze it a little bit tight because I
want it to fit snug.
Yeah, that'll fit.
Do I bolt or rivet these down? The nice
thing about rivets [snorts] is they
don't stick out much on the other side.
You know, inside the thing where
material is going to go through.
However, if I ever want to take it apart
and do modifications or whatever, bolts
will be very convenient.
All right, let's do bolts. Cuz the thing
is with bolts, I can always take them
out and put rivets in anyway. Rivets, I
have to destroy the rivet to get it out.
Got it.
Okay, that's the dumpy end. And this is
the holdy end. Yeah, that's going to be
nice if I just get some decent
on there.
So when I made all these bends, the
first one I did, I was off the line by a
fair amount, which ended up making this
side taller than this side. So, I don't
want one side of the cart taller than
the other side. So, I'm just going to
make this not flat. It's going to Well,
this line here. So, it's going to be
like that. It'll be fine. That one will
be It'll be make Yeah. I'm just going to
totally pretend it was on purpose and
everything is cool. [laughter] Yeah.
Not totally sure that I want another one
of these, but I might. So, I'm going to
draw it
while I've got one not attached to
anything. And anyone who draw anyone who
cuts sheet metal knows what a pain in
the butt it was to keep this part
attached.
But uh yeah, good thing I did. It was
worth the annoyance.
Cool.
Didn't put rivets at the top yet because
I think
I might put like a piece of square tube
all the way around the top edge. Let's
just
Oh, that is pretty strong. Nice. Oh,
that is good.
Yeah. All right, go. Oh, it goes that
way. All right, go. Oh, we're going to
have trailer rides. This is going to be
great.
Wow, that is a lot more stable. Yeah,
that is way more stable now. So,
because of that situation with the
whatever, whatever, I just put a little
wedge of solid [snorts] plastic in there
and I decided to fold these
out.
Just give him a bit of extra strength.
This stuff is probably fine.
Oh, that's great.
Yeah, that does not wobble anywhere near
here as much as before.
left these sticking out a little bit.
So, I have handles
so, you know, there's always something
to hold it by. You know, those are
actually pretty good.
I was thinking I would want like longer
handle
that one. Anyway, now I need some I
think I want to put piece of this across
here.
Okay, got that attached nice and strong.
Man, this is a cool thing. Even not
attached to a car or anything. You know
what? I'm going to I'm going to leave it
parked right here. My kids are going to
be here in like an hour. Let's see what
they do. All right. Trailer connector.
I have this. I think I think this is
going to be useful.
If I take a pipe
and put another pipe inside a pipe.
Come on, get in there.
Okay, that fits kind of snug. Okay, now
I have a stronger pipe.
And I think if I flatten this with a
hammer, it'll have enough meat to get in
there and take a long time to wear out,
you know.
All right. This
Looks about right.
Beautiful.
All right.
All right, that should be good up there.
It's pretty strong. If this starts like
denting the main body, I'll take that
off and put a plate of something under
it. It might be all right the way it is.
Um, [clears throat] and making this
removable
>> nothing
all the pictures.
Sorry.
>> Sweet. All right. That leaves a bit of
twistiness.
>> Shouldn't come out.
>> But if I ever want to take this out, I
just take this one pin out. Thing comes
out. Beautiful.
That looks pretty good. And it'll let it
rotate way more than it'll ever need to.
If the car ever rotates that much in
relation to the trailer, we're in
trouble.
>> Yeah, that's plenty of rotation.
>> All right. Now, I need something on the
car that can attach like that. I'm
sorry. What is going on?
>> We're helping the rabbit.
>> We're helping the rabbit. Oh my god.
All right, that's about seven or eight
inches off the ground. I'll measure it
to make sure I get it exactly.
>> So on the car, I need this to be
attached to it.
>> Seven or eight inches off the ground.
Okay, back of the car. Solar panel is
getting lots of sun right now. H.
[clears throat]
So I need to attach this somewhere right
back here somehow. So, I guess connected
to that part and maybe also connected up
here.
Yeah, that's got a strong piece across
there. Connected to those. That's all
strong. And I definitely want to connect
to this.
You know what? I think I can keep this
really simple.
If I connect something just a straight
piece,
connect it to that and to this.
The height has to be about here. And
that'll be clear of this stuff here. So
I'm just Yeah, I just need two pieces.
One here, one there. Yeah, I'll have to
attach it by bolts. Or actually, I could
rivet it here as long as it's bolted
there. But I can't bolt there. Man,
that's going to be a pain cuz it's I
can't All right, Jamie. Use your brains.
This little lip, whatever you call this
thing, flange, that's not that's not
enough to attach something like this.
Another option is I could attach another
piece
from here going across and use that to
connect. Oh, that'll totally work. Yeah.
Okay, I think I got it.
[sighs]
Oh, nice looking part. Looks like a
Looks like a car bone.
All right, I think I have to go make
dinner.
It's slippery.
>> All right, all humans watch. Oh no,
there's stuff in the way.
Think I can crash through. Crash
through. Crash through. Come on.
Yeah.
Nice.
>> All right. Where's the bolt?
>> I have it.
>> Bring it over. I
>> think I did an okay job on that. Feels
pretty strong.
Great job.
>> Well, we will see when we start driving
it.
We'll see like a year from now if any of
this falls apart.
That's so cool. Come on. Get in there.
Just like a normal trailer. It's hard to
get the freaking pin in. There we go.
It'll screw in.
Hopefully,
it feels pretty strong.
Is that going to hit? No, I think it's
okay. Is it?
>> Yeah, I think it's good.
>> I don't really need the washer on the
bottom, do I? Whatever. Anyway,
all right. That's a lock nut. I'm just
going to put it on as tight as I can get
it by hand.
Looks good.
>> Yeah.
>> You want to try it?
>> No. I was thinking we should just leave
it there and go eat dinner.
>> No.
>> No. You don't think we should just leave
it?
>> Try it.
>> You want to turn it on and drive it
around?
>> Try it.
>> All right. All right. Oh, I don't have a
ton of space, but we can give it a
little test.
>> So, how much cargo do I have there? Like
200 lb.
Okay.
Did you sign your waiverss? I'm just
kidding. You're
okay, Rosie. Don't worry. Now, we're
going to go forward. All right. Ready? I
was running it over something when I was
going backwards.
>> Yeah, the path.
>> Oh. Oh, the trailer went over the path.
Is that what it was getting stuck on?
>> Yeah,
[laughter]
>> that's good.
>> Pulls you guys. No problem, right?
>> Yeah.
Sit down.
>> Back her up. Back her up. All right, big
booty. Back her up. All right, let's go
for it. I don't know. There's nowhere to
go. Where am I going to go? I'm just
going to go back over there again.
>> Hey, what about this way?
>> You want me to go that way?
>> You want to run it? You want to run it?
>> No, you won't.
[laughter]
>> All right, let's turn this off and we
can go play.
>> All right, I'm going to test this out.
Okay, go forward. Are you in forward?
You know how to drive this, right? Yeah.
Wait, wait, wait. No, no, no. Okay. It's
different, though. First, you have to
set back to either forward or reverse.
>> Okay.
>> Make sure it's in good. And then that's
your go.
>> All right.
>> And if any problems, just yank your go
and everything will turn off.
>> All right.
>> All the passengers.
>> All the passengers are ready. Go ahead.
>> Go faster. Yeah.
>> Okay.
Okay. Now remember, do you want to try
backing up?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Just go slow. Just do a little bit
at a time. And remember, if you lose
control of the trailer, it'll turn too
far and you'll be screwed.
>> Yeah.
>> So, you put yourself in reverse.
>> Yep.
>> All right. Turn your wheels to the left
a little cuz look at the trailer. It's a
little bit that way.
>> Yep.
>> Now, you're good. Now, straighten out.
Keep going now. Keep going. Keep going.
Keep going. Turn the other way. Other
way. Other way. Other way. Other way.
Other way. Other way. Other way. Look
right. Right. Right. Right. Right.
>> I was turning right.
>> Turn right. Turn right. Turn right.
Don't tell me you're turning right. Turn
right.
Okay.
Straight out. Straight out. Straight
out. Yeah. Now that's a bit.
You got a bit more. Keep going. Keep
going. A little more.
Go a little more.
[laughter]
>> This thing is so strong. I just went up
on whatever this was. No problem.
>> Wait.
Um, it should be really strong though.
It's weird way down. You want to come
in? All right. Oh, hold on. Don't go.
Come on.
>> All right. Go for it again. Go. Don't
never jam it. Oh, you got to never jam
it into full speed, right?
>> So, go slow and then fast.
>> Like, put it into slow at least for a
second.
Then go,
you know, just so it doesn't.
>> Yeah, this thing works great.
You want to back up again? Go park out
in the out in the sun.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Stay here.
>> Okay. You're you're in charge of the the
steering. I'm not going to say anything.
Just remember if you have any emergency
situation off.
>> Yep.
>> Okay. Yes. Okay. Keep that in your mind.
>> Hard left. Hard left. Left. Left.
>> Sorry, I'm not supposed to be standing.
Hey, don't don't get between. Yeah.
Yeah, you're doing good.
>> Oh, this is so good.
>> So, me and you, we're like almost 250
lbs, right?
>> I think you guys are 250 lb.
>> How much is she?
>> 50 lb.
>> You're 50 lbs already?
>> No.
>> No, you're like 40.
>> So, we're like 240 lb.
>> So, that means we can put 240 lbs in
here. No problem.
>> We probably put double that. I don't
want to I don't want to push her luck.
>> 250 lbs. The amount of stuff.
>> You want to drive more?
>> Yes.
>> All right. Go ahead. Oh, more rides.
>> And these these seats work great, don't
they?
>> Yeah.
>> Just wait till we get some of this stuff
cleared out.
Drive.
We actually got to drive somewhere soon.
Oh, wait. Now that is good.
Oh, I am I'm extremely happy with that.
Are you guys happy with your kid car?
>> Yeah.
>> Nice.
>> It's a good car.
>> It is a good car. Oh, you know what? The
other day I had to use the differential
lock and it totally worked
>> cuz I was going over a bump like I don't
know, one of these a couple pieces of
wood and one of the wheels got right up
off the ground, started spinning and I
just put the lock on, got right over it.
Yeah, it worked great. Oh, this is so
