CANVAS HiFi Booth Tour IFA 2026: BACCH 3D, CANVAS L, HiFi S99H, Almando Dolby Atmos 12-Channel Audio
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
La Nielson, CEO and co-founder of Canvas Hi-Fi, introduces a revolutionary approach to home audio at IFA 2026 by merging high-end Danish sound engineering with seamless interior design. The company is launching the new Canvas L, a larger sound system designed for TVs ranging from 65 to 115 inches, alongside their classic model which accommodates screens from 55 to 85 inches. These systems are not merely soundbars but complete furniture pieces that integrate directly into TV stands or frames, creating a unified aesthetic. Whether using real wood, aluminum, or custom fronts, the design allows users to match their living room's internal style perfectly, effectively turning any television setup into a luxury hi-fi experience without compromising on visual harmony.
The core of this innovation lies in delivering genuine high-fidelity audio quality that rivals systems costing tens of thousands of euros, yet at an accessible price point starting around €3,400. The technology features Scan-Speak drivers and a 1,500-watt amplifier combined with new B 3D sound technology, which creates a vast sound space using fewer speakers while maintaining cinematic immersion. This setup includes front channels for center, left, and right audio plus subwoofers, with optional rear speakers for Dolby Atmos or Digital surround effects. The company emphasizes that their mission is to bring the authentic "old school" hi-fi feeling back into modern homes, ensuring the music touches the listener emotionally rather than just providing basic sound output.
Canvas Hi-Fi distinguishes itself through a philosophy of openness and modularity, allowing customers to upgrade their systems later without paying for features they do not need immediately. The system is compatible with various partners, including special co-branding editions with Samsung's Frame TV and System Audio speakers, ensuring that the design remains consistent regardless of the brand used. Furthermore, the company maintains an open-source approach where users can integrate satellite speakers from other brands if they prefer, paying only for modules as they choose to expand their setup. Manufactured in Denmark with key components like drivers and wooden slats sourced locally, the products reflect a deep-rooted tradition of audio excellence that prioritizes sound quality above all else, supported by specialized dealers who provide expert advice to customers across Northern Europe and beyond.

Hello, my name is La Nielson. I'm the
CEO and co-founder of Canvas Hi-Fi. And
uh here at EA, we are introducing some
cool news. Uh for example, we have the
new the Hi-Fi S99H, which is a
co-branding with Samsung with their new
top model, the S99H.
Uh what we basically did did is we have
framed it with our wooden slashes and we
have our sound system built inside here
underneath.
Wow. So it all goes into one seamless
design combining uh the new top model
from Samsung S99 with our sound wrapped
up in Danish design. Another
>> Oh, how good is your sound?
>> Yeah, let me talk about that now.
Another cool thing is our new sound
system. We have have our classic canvas
sound system that fits any TV, any
brand. And now we just launched the new
Canvas L, the larger sound system. This
one you need to go up into 65 in and all
the way up to 115 in. And this can be
built in in one single design. You can
as well do it with the classic model.
That one goes down to 55 in and all the
way up to 85 in.
>> So does does it mean that uh you kind of
have a TV stand?
>> Yes.
>> And then it just fits.
>> Yes. What you basically do is you take
your TV, you click it on here, then you
adjust this. You can adjust this here in
the depth.
It goes flush with the sound system. And
then afterwards when you have the TV
here, you just add a front in the design
of your choice that matches your
internal design. And then voila, you
have one seamless design. I can show you
over here how the design will then look
with an example here. And uh excuse me
for the noise. Yeah.
So you just take
the front. Wow. And you put the front
that matches the size of your TV like
this
>> and it goes into one seamless design.
>> It looks so nice. And it would You
didn't even ask them for permission. You
just make it work.
>> Yes, exactly.
>> You can partner them with them or you
don't have to.
>> Oh, excuse me. You mean with with the
>> with the TV manufacturer?
>> Oh, we can. Our system, our sound system
is made so it fits any TV, any brand,
any size, any brand. Now the collabor we
have some special editions that we do
with Samsung and we do some special
edition with LEA but uh all our normal
models fits any TV any brand. I can give
you an another example. Samsung is very
famous for the frame. This the frame is
the most sold designer TV in the world.
We made a special edition. We made it
the hi-fi frame. Basically, it's a
luxury edition where we framed both
Samsung the frame and our sound system
in one seamless design with real wood or
aluminum in a high quality standard in
and then in this sense we wrapped it all
up in Danish design and made a luxury
edition with real hi-fi calling it
instead of the frame we call it the
hi-fi frame.
This is so amazing because um it
basically mean you can upgrade your your
living room.
>> Yes.
>> Not just with a great sound but great
design.
>> Exactly. And our mission you know we
have been seen our our business as a
whole selling sound bars in aluminium
and plastic with small tweeters sticking
out. Um, and what happened in our
business was we came further and further
away from that real genuine hi-fi
feeling. And we are trying to get that
back uh into the living rooms, but
without compromising the internal
design. We're actually making uh it so
that you can uh uh make it fit into any
internal design of the customer's
choice.
>> And if I like this color, boom,
>> boom, you got it.
>> I can choose that
>> exactly in the size of your choice. And
another cool thing is if you later
change the size of your TV or you change
your internal design, you can just
choose the another front that matches
the new TV or match
>> internal design. You got it.
>> Nice. Uh if I if I went went over here.
Oh, this is the one that's uh so what
can you describe the feeling of this
experience right now?
>> Yeah. With the sound,
>> you can explain it.
>> Yeah. And also different. Yeah, pretty
much. What you experience here is this
uh new B 3D sound combined with
surround. So, what we basically do is we
have in the front.
>> Yeah.
>> What do you say?
Basically in the front we have uh we
have this B 3D experience that makes a
huge sound space where the B 3D inside
the sound system takes care of the
center speaker, the left speaker, the
right speaker and the subwoofer. And
then we added rear speakers in dog atmos
or dog digital so you can get that
cinematic experience but without too
many speakers. So it's also goes into
your interior design with even Dolby
Atmos or Dolby Digital or Spark 3D
technology combined.
>> Wow. And um I don't know if it's easy
for you to switch but um just before
>> uh there was there was some uh music
going on here
>> and it was so crisp.
>> So the bass the whole everything. Can
you describe your sound?
>> Yes. Yes. Now the special thing about
our sound system is we are using uh
scans speak drivers and top of line
amplifier 1,500 watt combined with the B
3D technology and the B 3D technology is
a new technology that you normally find
in really high-end hi-fi systems uh that
costs a bundle like 30 40,000 but we
combined that in here and what it does
is that it makes a huge sound space. So
even though that the rellet speakers are
relatively close together, you get this
uh cinematic experience that and that we
are using rugged solid cabinet and real
solid drivers get going back to that old
school hi-fi philosophy where you can
get that kind of music that gets under
your skin.
>> How much money do I need to have to be
able to afford this? Our starting point
for our entry level system is €3,400
and then it goes up on depending on the
choice of your quad or wooden slashes or
even the the canvas L the biggest model
all the way up to 67 €7,000 depending on
>> where is it manufactured? It's
manufactured in Denmark. Uh and um some
of the parts uh the drivers are from
Denmark. The the the and some of the the
material the the wooden slashes and the
quas is from Denmark and some of the
other thing is that we have in it is
from the east and then we combine it all
in Denmark. And for €3,400 or something
like that, can you tell me that I'm
going to get an experience that's going
to be
in the ballpark of something that it
might cost 30 40,000?
>> Well, uh
>> for from some other place. Well, uh what
we did is that we combined uh uh it all
in one slick design uh but at a very uh
interesting price point because we
actually uh made a real high-end hi-fi
system at a very attractive price point.
Now I know that normally a soundbar uh
can be bought uh cheaper but this is
actually not just a soundbar. This is a
really high-end hi-fi system with
high-end hi-fi quality at a really
attractive price point.
>> Can we try to the world's first audio
file soundbar? Can we can we ask your
friend to to click something? We can
hear something there.
>> Definitely. One second. I'll just ask my
my friend here. Uh
Hen
and we'll just uh
>> Nice. And the base while we wait for
that.
Yeah, here you can see the the
philosophy and how it's built inside. We
have this bridge brand which is uh
special designed from us to make the
cabinet more uh strong and uh uh hard
feel like it's one.
>> Yeah, exactly. And and uh this is what
you want to have that very very crispy
sound.
>> Nice.
>> Yeah.
>> Wow.
>> You should sit right in the sweet spot.
>> So I'm going to sit right here. Exactly.
Wo.
>> I I get goosebumps.
>> That's That's the idea. Exactly. That's
good.
>> Yeah. Because Yeah. You need to
>> You need to enjoy life, right? And and
and getting the music in the full
quality is kind of like an important
thing.
>> Exactly. Yeah.
>> Right.
>> Yeah.
>> Because it's actually maybe even more
important than the TV.
>> Yeah. And and this was also our mission
as I told before about you know using
aluminum uh driver using aluminum
cabinet and plastic cabinet and and
small tweeters sticking out to make some
quantities round. We're going away from
that and going into that that general
hi-fi that really touches you and this
is what we actually solve with this
system.
>> What is the history of your company? How
long have you been doing this? And uh
what do you think is going to happen in
the next few months and next few years?
Well, um we have been doing this for for
quite some years. Uh me and my family
has been in the hifer business for
generations. Uh and when we made this
and uh sold this uh we did that to um to
uh get the uh these things sold that we
just just talked about. And what we're
seeing is that uh
we're trying to we're trying to get into
a uh a situation where where we are
merging really good hi-fi into the
living rooms of uh of uh of the the end
user getting that back to to the scene
and uh by combin combining these new
choices that we are launching now uh we
have even more accessories um making it
more um opening uh the possibilities for
our customers to put into many speakers
or few speakers and combining these
things. I have this new launch that we
did with the Almando Almando which is a
a German brand uh electronic brand and
um we made this upgrade that you can put
into your canvas and upgrade it. So if
you need even more channels, if you need
up to 12 channels, you can put that in
and connect it.
>> Add more uh satellite speakers.
>> Exactly. Add all the speakers that you
want. If you want to do that, but we
don't charge this uh before you need it
as a customer. And this is one of our
philosophies. We made the system as a
whole for 95% of the customer. And with
modules, you can then upgrade it if you
need it, but you don't pay it uh in
advance. you pay as you upgrade it with
modules and
>> and it's very nice that you're talking
about partnerships. So it sounds like
you might even be compatible with other
speakers in the satellites.
>> Actually what we're doing is we made
this very open source. For example, we
made this co-branding with system audio.
So that is a Danish uh speaker brand and
we made it with our designed fronts in
all the same colors as we do our fronts
on our sound system. So it matches as
you can see here in the exhibition and
um
by that we made solutions that uh
designwise matches but actually you can
choose whatever speaker you want. We
made it open source. So if you want some
other speakers, some other brands, the
built-in speakers or whatever you want,
you can do that as well.
>> Uh it's so cool to see this quality uh
coming out and why is there so much good
sound coming out of Denmark? Can you
explain what happened?
>> Well, uh in Denmark, we have uh many
years experience and uh many years
history of making good
>> century
>> centuries. Yes, let's call it some
brands.
>> Exactly. And uh of course all of this
communities we are a part of and uh have
been developing and our starting point
has been from the audio file business.
Uh our audio engineers is from the audio
file business. So our uh approach to the
business has been more like making an
audio file solution than making a design
life solution. And then afterwards we
made the right design for this audio
file solution. So for us the most
important part has always been and will
al always always be the sound making the
best sound possible
>> because I guess the people working on
this the engineers the sound designers
they do it for themselves because they
want to experience great sound and then
you can also sell it to others right
>> something like that
>> you might say that but you know me as a
co-founder and my co-founder Kim Nea and
other cool guys that we have had in in
the the making with the Benob and and
other cool sound engineers. uh we we do
this uh uh with passion of the the good
sound and good quality combined with the
passion for good design and uh this is
where I believe we are uh way different
from many other companies who is mainly
focusing perhaps on design or mainly
focusing on something else but we are
focusing on the the sound perspective
and then the design uh comes uh in as
the second point
>> and in Denmark there's this shop called
Hi-Fi Clubmer, right? Yes.
>> Uh it just means that in Denmark the
consumers love buying this
>> but the the market is so much bigger.
You can get to the whole world with this
stuff, right?
>> Yes. True. And funny you just mentioned
Hyum because we just engage with them.
So they are going out in all northern
Europe uh with uh all their shops uh is
uh coming with with cameras uh and
hyphoon is a very good match for us as
the dealers we have today in all
countries are specialized dealers who
knows what they're talking about who
knows how to demonstrate who knows how
to give the customers as advice of
what's the right thing to buy and this
combination now with hyphoon are we
getting more of these uh Many qualified
dealers.
