Canada's Wonderlands Most AMBITIOUS Expansion

Allighty. For those of you that have missed that introduction, I'm sorry. Sometimes I have been forgetting to do that at the start of videos. Anyways, let's get right into it. For those of you that found our Q&A video a little hard to watch through due to audio, we did actually figure out there was a tech error on the camera that led to that poor audio quality. I had bought a really fancy Sony mic for that camera. Um, and it did last year's Q&A perfectly. So, this year it was plugged in and on the camera when we uploaded it, I was a little confused as to why everyone was complaining about the audio. Well, we figured out today that there was something wrong between the connection of the mic and the camera. So, I apologize. Um, I promise we'll double check things before next time. So, let's get right into it. What was the Q&A? What did we learn? Um, and uh, yeah, let's discuss it. I want to hear from you guys in the comment section down below. Comment on everything that I'm talking about in this video. I want your opinions. I want to hear what you think about it. And what direction would you take the park? It's a lot to ask for, but I'm really curious to see what people have to say. I know my opinions are very different from others, and I fully understand that. Well, okay. Major thing we learned is Wild Beast. Wild Beast is going to stay at the park. Now, they didn't specifically say it was going to get the gravity group treatment. It is very obvious that Wild Beast is going to get the gravity group treatment. Um, I think that's going to start this off season. Speaking to the park president even just like weeks and months ago. Um, he was very aware that Wild Beast is in a very rough state and one of our sister parks, King's Dominion, had done this treatment to their version of Wild Beast and it worked out very well. So, it's kind of like a no-brainer. Um, it is a little shocking that they're not just going to go in with a bulldozer, bulldoze it, and build whatever in the future. However, like I've been saying in my videos, if you you've listened, is MedFair isn't due for any investments anytime soon. So, removing Wild Beast anytime soon would checkmate them into having to invest in Medfare. So, unfortunately, we're stuck getting a Gravity Group. However, the good news is Gravity Group makes some of the best products in the industry in terms of keeping those classic wood coasters alive and presenting a more modern ride experience. So, I'm excited about that. I love what they did with Mindbuster. I am ecstatic to see what they'll do with Wild Beast. Now, the parking lot. So, in the Q&A, we kind of learned that, you know, their goal is to transform Canada's Wonderland from Canada's premier amusement park into Canada's premier entertainment destination. Um, and there were a lot of other topics of discussion kind of in correlation to this topic um about like indoor water parks, uh, obviously lodging. The the company really wants lodging at Canada's Wonderland and it's obviously on their radar. Peter said in his dream world, now this is his dream world, keep that in mind, that the park would be 365 and have some indoor aspects to it as well. It is in a very um I guess dream location, this park, and its attendance numbers are constantly growing. Uh I would have to predict that Canada's Wonderland had some of its had its best season even over Alpen Fury last year. So, they had 30% growth in attendance last year with Alpen Fury, and I think they did even better this year. So, that speaks volumes um with some of the other American parks not doing so hot. So, I'm really excited to see what the chain invests into this park because this is going to be a park that they need to invest in. Now, with that being said, there was some soil testing borehole um in the north part of the parking lot, and we've heard rumblings that the park could be losing some of its parking over the next couple of seasons. With that being said, that could be either project 2028 um or the hotel or indoor water park that they're kind of discussing that they wish they could have um and is on their kind of like itinerary of investments for the park. So, we're kind of looking at will it be the north lot, will it be Kingswood, will it be the original plot over by Rutherford? Who knows? But Canada's Wonderland with its rapid attendance growth and their dream of becoming a destination park is going to need a hotel to complement that. weather. I know, I know. Grown grown. I've been kind of calling this for years and years and years and no one likes it and it hasn't happened yet, but I'm holding on to that idea that Canada's Wonderland is in dire need of a hotel. And it's going to happen. It's going to happen. Whether you like it or not, it's going to happen. Now, if they are looking for an indoor water park, unfortunately, Kings um not King's Feast. I was about to say King's Feast. Um, Kingswood, by the way, I just had to pause this video and genuinely go look up the name of that theater. That's how out of it I am. So, Kingswood is a prime location if they're looking for lodging and indoor water park. Now, how far away that is, we don't know. They obviously have some more additions to build before they are that destination park and more entertainment to add. And with that being said, I think you're 100% going to be looking at a much more elaborate entertainment package for the 2027 season. They're already hard at work on a drone show to complement the fireworks that they've been doing. I would suspect um they try that July or August uh fireworks every Saturday thing again. Fireworks are what bring guests in. The park goes from 30,000 guests a day to like 50,000 guests a day whenever they do fireworks. And that is a huge justification um for spending when you're getting an additional like 20,000 30,000 guests in the park, whatever it is. You're going to see a lot of investments in the 2027 season Halloween haunt, Winterfest, entertainment, fireworks, drone, more more shows, more festivals. That's going to be a huge package that the park is working on. And um it's just really exciting again as the park focuses on becoming that theme park entertainment destination um from an amusement park. Uh it it's it's going to be just extraordinary to watch. Um and unfortunately for roller coaster enthusiasts, I disagree with this this following statement. By the way, I think this is absolutely amazing news. Um our next major coaster is most likely going to be a high thrill family coaster. um not like what we're used to. It's not going to be a Snoopies Racing Railway or a Thunder Run. It's going to be probably a Big Bear Mountain or, you know, something similar. And if it's not Big Bear Mountain, it's going to be a mock extreme spinner on the high thrill side. So, it's one of those two things. Um it's either Big Bear Mountain or a Mach Extreme Spinner if I was to put my my two cents behind that that bet. Um, and 2031 will probably be a major thrill coaster. And based off of, you know, just listening and dissecting conversations, I would suspect that's when we get our major RMC uh, world recorder breaking roller coaster for our 50th anniversary. And that's possibly when they could be aiming to have that hotel um, be built and ready for uh, is that that 50th anniversary. That would be my ultimate like prediction in terms of Wonderland's growth uh over the years. Outside of that, um they did touch on they are looking at rides to extend their their ride cycles. Unfortunately, Tundra Twister is maxed out. It is ex is as maxed out as it can be. Um they are looking at nightmares. uh soaring timbers they're going to look into and just improving those ride cycles to give guests a better ride experience is something the park does want to do. However, when they are super busy, they obviously their goal is to get as much people through the line as possible and on as many rides as possible in a day. So, that's where those shorter ride cycles come from and they explain that in the video. Now, we also did learn that uh Mock, Vakoma, B&M, and Art Engineering out in Germany uh were some of the the companies behind uh other designs for Alpen Fury. So, that was really cool to learn. I've been wanting to know that for some time. Um the park seems to be having mock in the back of their head for every project right now. So, that is a very good sign for you guys who want a mock extreme spinner. I would definitely keep your eyes and ears open for that because I think there's a very good possibility that we could be seeing one of those. um down the line. I I do find it very interesting that the park is even exploring art engineering. I know they make an amazing product, but I really think Wonderland needs diversity. We are a park that has a lot of same same. Um I know on paper it doesn't look like we have a lot of same same, but in terms of forces and ride experiences, in my personal opinion, Wonderland can be a little lackluster in terms of its lineup due to same same ride experiences. And I think that's why Elen Fury has done so well. um with the park is because it is one of the first times that we've seen the park take a major step outside of its comfort um and build something so intense and so fun. Uh so I would love to see that uh a little more and I really hope we go down the route of either like um a tilt coaster eventually an RMC and a mock extreme spinner. I think that would really round out our lineup and really do um some somewet pow for us becoming a destination park. Obviously, we do need a Big Bear Mountain in there, by the way, um for the families. So, unfortunately for you guys, I think it's great. Um there is going to have to be some sort of high thrill family coaster thrown into Canada's Wonderlands lineup. Now, I would like to see that if it was coming, thrown into the Whitewater Canyon area due to the height restriction in that back end of the park. um it would make sense to build that style of coaster in the Whitewater Canyon area and not waste such prime real estate in the Time Warp Kingswood area on a high thrill family launch coaster. So, I'm really hoping um that it's the Mock Extreme Spinner in that area and not the Big Bear Mountain. Um with that being said, I'm trying to think if I'm missing anything. Um I probably am. Uh again, there's just a a huge uh con like conversation on lodging. Um you know that the park does have plans and obviously they can't talk about them and uh just uh upgrading the park in general. One other really cool fact is Windseeker did have music installed on it uh just before lightning struck it. Uh so when it does reopen, which should be shortly, uh it will have music like its sister parks playing as you go up and down the tower. That was something Chris had uh done. So that's really awesome as well. All in all, like I said, I'm very excited for Wonderland's future. It's packed with investments and packed with uh ambition and uh I can't wait to see what that what transpires from that. So comment down below, guys. I really do want to hear from you.
