Can the xTool O1 Omni Pay for Itself? 7 Products to Make & Sell

Video summary

The video explores how owners of the xTool O1 Omni printer can achieve profitability by creating and selling seven specific, high-demand products that are quick to make and easy to market on platforms like Etsy or at craft shows. The presenter highlights several key features of the machine that facilitate this process, such as the print-and-cut functionality which eliminates manual alignment for items like acrylic bag tags and hair clips, allowing users to simply place materials in the bed and let the software handle the rest. Additionally, the device's smart mask feature automatically recognizes shapes on pre-cut blanks, while its rotary attachment enables precise 3D scanning and printing on curved surfaces like glass tumblers without needing manual centering adjustments. Beyond these technical advantages, the video details specific product ideas ranging from personalized leather accessories to branded canvas tote bags, emphasizing the versatility of flexible white ink which allows for durable prints that can bend or be washed without cracking. The presenter notes impressive profit margins across all categories; for instance, a sheet of acrylic costing around six dollars can yield fifteen individual bag tags sold individually between twelve and fifteen dollars each, while leather patches used on hats cost less than two dollars to produce but sell for twenty-five to thirty dollars when customized with names or logos. Even simple items like hair clips made from inexpensive birch wood are shown to be surprisingly hot sellers at outdoor events due to their low production cost of under two dollars and high perceived value as custom gifts. To maximize revenue, the video strongly advocates for bundling these individual products into cohesive gift sets rather than selling them in isolation. By combining four or five different items—such as a jewelry box, mirror, business card-style leather tag, and hair clip—the presenter demonstrates how to significantly increase average order value from roughly ten dollars per item up to forty-five dollars for a complete bundle ready for gifting at events like bridesmaid proposals or family reunions. This strategy not only simplifies the purchasing process for customers by providing fully themed gift boxes but also leverages packaging as a crucial element that enhances perceived value and encourages higher sales volumes through convenient, thoughtfully curated collections.

Can you make money with your X tool01 Omni printer? We're gonna show you seven quick and easy items that you can make to pay off your printer. [music] [singing] >> What is up? Welcome back. We know you love to do it, build it, and make it >> and we're here to help you sell it. Now, last episode, we showed you all of the functions and features of the X Tool01 Omni. >> And in this video, we're going to show you how you can make money with your Xool01 Omni printer. [music] Now, these are items that you see all over Etsy, and you can sell yours on Etsy. You can sell them on your social media. You could sell them at craft shows. They're quick, easy to make, and profitable items. We thought this would be the perfect niche for this week's video because Kim had just gone on her annual cousins weekend where everybody gets together and goes off without their husbands. >> Yes, it was our annual girls weekend trip and every year we bring gifts to exchange with each other and because I make I make things uh I always bring branded gifts to make and give the girls and so I just did most of these items. So, I thought they would be perfect to show you how you can make each of them individually, all the types of materials that you can use, all the items that you can make, or how you can bundle them together like I did with a gift bag or in a gift box. I've got lots of ideas for you. So, let me show you how to make each one of these and how you can sell it. Money-making item number one, the branded bag tag. There are so many different things that you can do with bag tags. They're super versatile. Not only can you give them on a girls gift tote bag like this, their luggage tags, their kids backpack tags, you can sell bag tags in so many different ways. And in my opinion, the best PE feature of the X tool Omni is the print and cut feature. It is for me, we're starting with the best feature first. They're super simple to do. You're going to put your acrylic right here in the bed. It can hang off the bed like this. It's going to be just fine. You're going to let your Ommy know that you're using a multi-achine uh project. So, it's going to say, "Hey, I want to print and then I want to cut." It's an it there's no lining up. There is nothing to think about. You're going to print your image. You're going to take it over to your printer. You're going to say auto align and it's just going to cut out the outline for you. Super simple. Now, you could sell these. You could get a full sheet of acrylic like you're looking at here for about $6. And then you could sell these individually for anywhere from six to $15 depending upon how much printing you're doing on there, how many layers of acrylic you're adding. So it's a super high profit item because in this $6 sheet of acrylic, you can get anywhere from 10 to 15 of these depending upon what size you make them. Mine's big. Money-making item number two, the hair clip. Now, this again is a simple one, but it's an easy money-making item, and they're so versatile. You can use these for bridesmaid's gifts, family reunions, girls weekends, for kids. There's so many different reasons and ways that you can use a hair clip or offer a hair clip as a customized item. Uh you can do these as a print and cut just like we did with the acrylic. we can print your image and then take it over to the machine and cut it out. Especially if you're using something like the P3, which I'm pointing to, but you can't see. But in this case, what was great about this is that the Omni also has what they call a smart mask feature. So, we have a bunch of these blanks already cut. I was able to lay them right on the bed, have the machine scan, recognize the shape of the item, and then drag my graphic right over the masked shape, and it only printed in the shape of the item that I was trying to print on. So, it was super versatile. I didn't have to adjust my image to make it match the hair clip. It automatically masked and did that for me. >> The hair clip is a surprisingly hot seller. I had no idea how hot a seller the hat clip is. We were at a craft show. A hair clip. Sorry. Hair clip. >> We were at a show. >> It was It was dead because it was 99° and we're on black top. >> Yes, it was. >> Nobody wanted to carry anything. Nobody wanted to bring their pets out under the black top. Little kids were melting in their strollers. It was super hot and nobody was making any money except the lady directly across from us. She had a line up the road because everybody wanted to buy her hair clips. >> I just needed to get and and me too. I went over there and well, I couldn't help but watch them buy hair clips. I went and bought myself one and how great was it to get the hair off my neck. But this was just a such an easy item to offer at a craft show. You can sell them in your online store. You could sell them on your social media. You could sell them right at the craft show. Have funny snarky sayings. They're a quick impulse buy. You can, let's see, the clips were what, $1.50 maybe. Uh the wood 50ents. You can get a sheet of birch on our website for what did we say? >> 375. >> 375. So all in for a hair clip, you're less than $2 and you could sell these eight to $15 depending on how much printing you're doing out. >> The girl at the show was selling them for $15. Sold out. Sold everyone. She had it. So, surprisingly hot. So, >> yeah. >> Money-making item number three, a tumbler. Now, you've seen us do a 40 oz Stanley tumbler. You've seen everybody do a 40 oz Stanley tumbler, but you may not have known that you can UV print on glass. And this is going to print your white, your color, and you'll be able to use the rotary tool here, which is super easy to add. You're just going to lay it right down on the base. And it's a magnet. And you can I love this tumbler attachment because you just put it on. >> It's self centering. >> Yes. >> So it's impossible to mess up. >> And the rotary attachment feature with the Omni is great because it does an auto scan of the tumbler. So it will scan it'll autole the tumbler. It'll also scan all sides of the tumbler so that you know exactly where you want to put your image. In this case, these are blank, so it doesn't really matter. But let's say you did have a custom name or you had some preprinted tumblers, maybe with strawberries on them, and you were at a craft show and you wanted to add somebody's name on it or somebody custom ordered it. You can scan your Tumblr and be able to place that name exactly where you want it. That's the great feature about the Tumblr attachment. And then the auto scan and full 360 scan of the tumbr flattens the image out. Place it wherever you want. >> I was impressed that it was able to recognize the glass and do a 3D scan of the the glass here. I definitely thought it was going to shoot right through and say it was unable to recognize. >> Yeah, he was concerned that it wouldn't be able to recognize the surface area that it was going to try and shoot through the glass, but it doesn't. It was able to do it no problem. Now these again are great profit margin. You could sell the you can buy these somewhere around what do we see 237 250 so less than 250 a jar and then depending upon how much printing you're doing on your jar if you're just putting a name versus a full wrap you could sell these anywhere from $8 to $15 as well. Um great sellers and the other cute thing that you can do on this is actually print on the top as well. So, I wanted to show you not only did I print on the glass, I printed on the top and you got yourself a tumbler. >> Makes it complete. >> Money make item number four. Let's talk leather. These are leather accessories. >> So, for my girls weekend trip, I did this cute little uh jewelry box. So, this of course is great for bridesmaids gifts. Uh traveling. if you're going to give somebody going on a a big trip is a great gift item for traveling. And um guys, this is also has a version for watches. So, it's a great kind of like Father's Day gift for watches. We also have the little mirror here. Let's see. Oh, I've got it this way. Here's my little pocket mirror. These are great for many different things. Of course, they're great to give as bridesmaid's gifts or as a little accessory in your girls week or girls trip bag, but these are also great if you want to sell these at craft shows again with funny sayings on them or um business cards. So, these are about a buck a piece. >> No, they they're ended up being about 50 cents a piece if you buy them in bulk. >> If you buy them in bulk. So, we're talking 50 cents each. It's a great way to give as a business card. This is not going to be something that you throw away. So maybe you say something funny on one side and have your business logo on the back. This is going in a purse. They aren't going to forget you who you are. >> Yeah. I'm going to put you look marvelous on the front. You look marvelous. >> No, we're not. >> On the back. I got to throw my logo. [laughter] >> But this is a great item. So think outside of gifting items. This is a great giveaway item as a sticky item. when we call them these are sticky items because people aren't going to throw them away. They're going to stay around and your logo is going to be around. Super easy to do on the Omni. The great thing about this I wanted to showcase that you can do this. Uh it has an auto height feature. So I simply put it on the bed. You put your image into the software say print. It's going to automeasure the height. It's got two infrared lasers that's going to measure the height of this and set it exactly where you want it to be. It has a great scanning camera. So, it's not just a camera. It's actually a scanner, right? >> Scanner. It's actually a scanner that works more like your copy machine than it does like one of the other P machines. It doesn't take pictures and stitch them together. It makes a color photo copy. >> So, it's great for perfect placement. The by not using a camera, you're not getting that fisheye lens. You are able to have perfect placement on here. And again, with something like this, you can use the uh smart mask feature so that your image, if you were trying to go edge to edge, like I was doing with uh what did I do earlier? Like the um bag tag or something like that, you can put Oh, the hair clip. Hair clip. I was going edge to edge, so I really needed to use that smart mask feature. Uh you could do the same for something like this, too. And again, you can have multiple heights. Um, this can be up to I think it was seven inches. >> Seven inches. Yes. So, being able to flip-flop between different heights of material and not have to do any manually measuring is uh is great. It was great. >> Yeah. >> What actually happens when you become a Maker Place member? Moneym This one is my favorite. The print and cut was probably Kim's favorite. These is our hat patches. You know, I love a hat patch because it's easy money. It's small. It's easy to print. And for this one, we went ahead and used the textured feature inside of X tool just so we could make it look more like an embroidered hat patch. Yes. >> And something something that's just flat. >> Right. So, you can take these anywhere. These are super custom because you can add that texture. Again, you can use the print and cut feature. So, for this one, you can see this is the only thing I have on here. I put my image on there. We first printed the image right on the large bed. It adds the um alignment dots here. I can Yeah. targets. And I can take it over to the laser, lay it in there. It's going to auto position my cut file right over. This is a rectangle, but the great thing about this is you can do any shape. So it can be someone's logo and it can be custom to their logo. So you can really charge a custom price for a custom hat patch. >> So you probably pick up the hat for like $7. The hat patch or the piece of leather. How much is a full sheet of leather? $15. >> Less than that. I can easily get 15 out of a sheet of leather. So we're looking at like a dollar for the patch, seven for the hat. All in 750. That's with the ink. You sell it all day long for 25 to 30 bucks. Easy. That's >> easy. Especially if you've got a custom family name, a wedding, a girls weekend, anything like that. Especially when you add that custom >> that emotional touch to it. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> But if you want to sell hat patches at craft shows, you can bust out one to 20 to 30 to 50 of these super easy using your Omni and your uh P3. In our case, we're using the P3 to do the um auto centering and it just cuts it right out for you. >> Money making item number six, the leather can koozie. This is a great seller. I mean, who doesn't have a drawer of canoozies? We have a drawer, probably 20 of them with different types of logos and stuff on there. >> You can't talk about a girls weekend without offering up a canoozie or a a groomsman gift. Going to have a Canoozie. There's so many different things that you can brand on a koozie like this. And did you know that the Omni has flexible ink? >> That's really what impressed me about the Canoozie and having it on the koozie is I thought for sure it would get all crackly and chip off, but no, because it's a flex flex ink, I'm able to bend it around. It's I'm I'm pretty impressed with it. >> These were super simple to do. you laid them on the bed. Again, I can take a scan of the bed so I can have perfect placement on where I want to put my image. And you're going to print a layer of flexible white because you have rigid white and flexible white in this machine. So, if you're doing something hard like >> or the wood, >> yeah, a great example. You're going to use the rigid white in this case because it's going to have some flex to it. Uh, you're going to use the flexible white and it's going to allow you to bend and move that can koozie around without it cracking. >> Well, now I can fold it up and throw it in the drawer or pop it back out and put a can in it and I don't have to worry about my logo disappearing. These, you could pick these up for about $3, but once you print on it, you're all in. Probably $325. And I think you could sell these all day long for like8 to 12. >> Oh, yeah. >> Depends. Depends on how big the leg is. Again, you could sell these as uh a gift items, a group of items, a bundle of items. So, you can sell eight to 10 koozies, as groomsman's gifts, or again, family reunion. Lots of different ways that you can offer these or you can have them preprinted and sell them at your craft. Money making item number seven. Let's bring it all together and put it in a canvas tote. This might not be something that you could have thought that you can print on, but with the flexible white ink, you can print on something that's a little bit stiff. You can't do shirts. It's not going to do shirts, but it will do a canvas tote. And it's great the way this feels. It feels different than a DTF print. >> It does. It feels more like a direct to garment. It doesn't have that uh rubbery feel to it, >> right? There's no glue behind it. It's printing directly on your canvas here. And this was super simple to do. I just chose flexible white ink. It laid down the white ink. It laid down the color ink. And you can put this right on a bag. Now, think gift bags, of course, for the girls weekend, bridesmaid's gifts. You can do the little makeup bags here, these little totes. These are great for kids, back to school bags. There's lots of ways again that you can print on and sell a canvas bag or a canvas tote. Again, these, like we said, these are perfect for girls weekends, reunions, lots of different things, as well as craft shows, conferences, >> always have bags at conferences. Maybe it doesn't have to be a Candace tote. Maybe it could be nylon. Uh it's just not for washable materials. So, >> you you can wash it now. you you can wash it, but it's not a weekly wash kind of thing. It is something that it will go through the wash a few times, but it's not really meant for um that the super bald up getting wet like your t-shirt might do that. But in this case, if you needed to wash your tote bag, it's actually going to go through the wash and come out. Okay, so canvas is another great material, especially with the flexible inks that you can print on. Uh did you talk about price on this? heard me say. Okay. >> So, you can buy these anywhere from a $1.50 on up to $4 or $5 if you get the more rigid uh higherend canvas bags. So, there's a range of bags that you could print on. And then you could sell these anywhere from again $10 to $15. It just depends on how much printing you're doing, how much personalization you're doing. >> You could sell each of these individually. We said all of them landed between about $10 to $15. But the real money is when you're able to increase your average order value by bundling. You bundle a couple of these. I would take any four items, bundle them together, and sell them for $45. >> Now, who doesn't love a gift ready item? So, it takes the thought out of it. You can just look on your Etsy store and see, oh, hey, here's a bridesmaid proposal box or a a gift item or the like I said, the girls weekend family ring. There's just lots of ways. But if they're already stuffed full of the items all branded with either someone's name or a logo that goes with the theme of your event and all you have to do is buy the fully bundled package. That makes it easy and it really increases that average order value. >> And anytime you can make it easier for your customer to make the purchase and pass along the gift, the the easier it is, >> the more likely they're going to buy. And you can sell any of these bundles with maybe what, three, four, five different items in it max. Anywhere from 30 to 45, $50 depending upon what you have in there and how you present it. Don't forget your packaging. Packaging is huge. It really increases a perceived value. >> Once you've made all your products, once you've made some bundles and you got your pictures together, be sure to grab our new product checklist. This is for a new product launch. It gives you all the social media steps you need to do to start generating traction on your marketing for this product. >> It tells you what pictures you should take in what settings so that you can roll them out. You're not just going to share one photo one time. You're going to roll out five, six. Well, this is 10 different ways that you can present your product. So, 10 different social media posts. Grab our full checklist on our website at our maker place, k&gmake it.com. >> Well, I'm about out of time. I got to finish bundling all these girls items. You got to go come up with some products that you can bundle together and sell. And we will see you next time where we'll do it, build, and make it again. Oh, a big thanks to the Make It Mafia. We love you guys. The Make It Mafia is part of our members area, which is the maker place over on k&gmake.com. But it's really it's really about the family. All about the family. Leave him.
