yellow, and return as echoes. The right
side is the clinical B mode image which
builds up line by line as those echoes
get turned into brightness. White for
strong reflectors like the stone or
bone, gray for the kidney, and pure
black for the fluid fil cyst. That's
ultrasound in action. Sound waves
mapping tissue density. Hit play demo to

it yourself.
Okay, the sound is uh the sonification
is pretty annoying. There's two types of
sonifications. Maybe you can explain the
difference. They're both pretty
annoying. And then in demo mode, there's
another problem that the image on the
right, the reconstruction, the of the
tissue is uh remaining the same while
the probe keeps moving. The image
doesn't change anymore. So it's once
it's scanned it once there kind of no
point running the demo in the loop. Can
you explain that?
>> Yeah, those two sounds are different.
Pulse sound is just a simple beep every
time you fire a pulse. Super basic.
Feedback is the proper sonification. It
plays a sound for every returning echo.
Volume gets louder for strong reflectors
like bone or the kidney stone, and pitch
drops the deeper the echo comes from.
That's why it feels chaotic and
annoying. It's throwing a bunch of
different beeps at you rapidly. As for
the demo, it runs a single automated
scan sequence once. Once the image is
fully built, it just keeps looping the
probe movement without firing new pulses
or clearing the canvas. So, the right
side stays frozen. That's why it feels
pointless after the first pass. Hit
clear image and then play demo again if
you want to watch it rebuild.
>> Yeah, but in the demo, we should be
doing it kind of automatically. So,
essentially, how would you improve the
demo mode? Addressing that, and how
would you improve the sounds, the
sonification? I'd improve the demo mode
like this. Make it auto fire pulses as
the probe sweeps across the tissue just
like a real transducer would instead of
only doing one scan. Add a reset and
replay demo button that clears the
image, resets the probe, and runs the
full sequence again. That way, it stays
educational instead of just freezing
after one pass. For the sounds, I dial
both back, make the pulse sound softer
and optional. And for the echo feedback,
reduce the number of beeps. Maybe play
only the strongest echoes instead of
every single one. Lower the overall
volume too and give users a simple onoff
toggle for audio so they can enjoy the
visual without the annoyance. We'll do a

Whatever he believes AGI is achievable
by 2030. So, we'll have to wait to see,
you know, things that I couldn't do six

So, for example, this simulation,
ultrasound simulation that I'm showing
showing on my stream on the on YouTube
is um, you know, working. It's running.
It's doing, you know, great, whatever.
Yes, it could be improved. I mean, I
didn't code it myself or whatever, but
uh, and this is like university level.
This will be like a
um, you know, covered in a degree,
whatever. And students pay whatever
$50,000 and you have like 20 30 students
in a class with who each one's each one
is paying like in Australia whatever
international students paying up to 50
60,000
whatever and they get lower quality uh
content than this and this one is
available for free open source. So so
yeah and now looking at it this was
developed like 6 months ago. Now that
I'm looking at it again, I'm just giving
it to
uh the current models which are not
making any mistakes. Do not hallucinate
as much.
So can replace I got a PhD in biomedical
engineering that this these models can
replace what I do. So obviously they can
replace a lecturer at university is easy
can replace a coder. It's kind of it's
only a question of like you think your
job is more difficult or easier than
what because if it can I mean ideally
ideally if it's like AGI level one of
the things you would expect it to do
like the basic of what you would expect
it to do is just go on your website like
test it review it use it so on so forth.
Yes, you should be able. Yes, there's
all like privacy concerns and you know,
ethical concerns where yes, you should
be able to allow it, you know, uh doing
it.
So, it shouldn't be just like, you know,
so essentially only if the creator of
the website of someone who is authorized
allowed
a certain agent or something to to go to
your website, well, then they should be
able to do it. That's like a technical
technical thing. So that's that's easy,
relatively easy. Okay. So can you qu
give me a quick uh recap and quick
overview of the tool and some uh
critical what can be improved?
Ultrasound sim recap. You control a
probe on the left. Fire pulses and watch
sound waves bounce off tissues to build

sound. Quick winds to improve it. Auto
fire pulses in demo mode so it keeps

button. That's it. Solid concept. Just
needs those tweaks to feel smooth.

can move the probe using the arrow keys
on your keyboard. That's it, though. No
shortcuts for firing pulses or clearing
the image. Mouse is still the main way
to do everything else.

you be adding? Like space for emitting
pulse.
>> Yeah, exactly. I'd add spacebar to emit
a pulse. That's the obvious one. C to
clear the image. D to toggle demo mode
on off. Those three would make it way
more fun and snappy to play with.
>> Okay, that sounds great. Uh how about in
demo mode? Uh should we clear the image
uh after some time
uh as it cycles cuz it's cycles
continuously at the moment. Yeah,
exactly. In demo mode, the probe should
sweep across fire pulses automatically
build the full image then after 2 3
seconds automatically clear it and start
the sweep again. That way it keeps
cycling properly instead of freezing on
the first scan forever. Simple loop.
Build pause. Clear. Repeat. Much
cleaner.
>> And should we show a message when the
image is cleared or something?
>> Nah, don't show a message. That'll get
annoying real fast if it's constantly
popping up. Just make the clear instant
and silent. People will see the image
clean. That's obvious enough. Keep it
clean and distraction-free.
>> No, but how so how would the user know
why the image was cleared all of a
sudden?
>> Good point. A small subtle text flash
like image cleared or new scan starting
that fades out after half a second would
be perfect. Clean, quick, and tells them
exactly what's happening without
cluttering the UI.
>> Okay. And also the demo demo mode button
uh should we use it to also indicate
that currently the demo is uh running?
>> When demo is running, the button should
change from play demo to stop demo.
Switch to a red color and maybe add a
subtle pulsing animation. That way,
users instantly know the demo is active
and can stop at any time with one click.
>> Okay. And how did we say we will improve
the sonification?
The We have both uh we have two types
currently. Should we like combine them
and improve them? If so, how shall we do
it?
Keep the two separate, but make them
actually useful. Make the pulse sound
soft and short. Just a clean little
click so you know you fired. Completely
rework the echo sonification. Instead of
chaotic beeps, make it one smooth tone
that changes pitch based on depth and
gets louder with stronger echoes. Add a
single sonification toggle so people can
turn it off completely if they want.

So we just be asking them to improve it.
We we shouldn't be telling them exactly
how yet. The keyboard shortcuts
uh sound good. UI feedback demo button
changes to stop the Yeah. So the demo
button should indicate more clearly when
the demo is on
and also that that's uh somehow maybe we
should indicate that the demo mode
automatically started cuz currently it's
somewhere buried in the description that
the demo mode starts automatically after
certain period of time of uh user not
interacting
with the with the page. So, can you
rewrite all this for a developer? But,
uh, just keep in mind that this is an
experienced developer, so we don't want
to exactly tell them what to do, but
just look into all this. Here's a clean
version you can send to the developer.
Ultrasound simulator suggested
improvements. Please review the current
demo mode and sonification with these
points in mind. Demo mode, it currently
sweeps continuously but stops updating
the image after the first pass. Consider
making the demo loop properly,
automatically firing pulses during the
sweep, then clearing and restarting the
cycle naturally. Visual feedback. When
the image clears automatically, users
may not understand why. A subtle
temporary onscreen indication would
help. Sonification. The current audio
feedback feels overwhelming. Look into
making the pulse and echo sounds
cleaner, less chaotic, and more pleasant
while still being educational. Controls.
Consider adding keyboard shortcuts, eg
space to mit pulse, c to clear, d for

haven't been doing like automating
testing, but automating testing is
important because when we're making
changes, like we want to make sure the
previous things we made are not
breaking.
So, it's kind of important
verifying. So, it's verifying because
it's agent. It can verify its own work.
How good is that?
Yeah. Updating the demo mode. Well,
because currently it's just cycling
through this thing. The image is already
there, but it's not uh we want it to
reset
uh every every now and then. Should we
go through the changes individual status

Oh, the keep button just accepted them

we have this one in the older version in
production. We'll have to run the new
one locally. Okay, the demo mode should
start after
10 15 seconds, I imagine. Yes, it does.

doesn't really work. The space shortcut

the space is also um scrolling down the

Okay, so a couple of things. Uh first of
all uh an easy one the space button
isn't uh uh doing the
pulse emission
because it's used on the page for
scrolling down the page. So,
uh, when hovering over the canvas or
something,
we needed to do the pulse emission.
Uh, clear.
Now, the other question is like, should
the shortcut still work in um,
demo mode or do they stop the demo mode?
I think this should stop the demo mode.
I don't know. Whatever Whatever is
better. Yeah. So, when we're moving the
probe with the mouse, we should be able
to hit the space
for the pulse emission. Currently, the
space is uh scrolling down half the
page.
Oh, and the other the other main thing
there is a big thing a big problem is
the clearing in demo mode. the clearing
of the
of the image is happening too soon. So
essentially you want the probe to move
uh say twice back and forth
or maybe even three times or something
to make sure the entire image is being
uh generated cuz currently after the
probe is only moving once it's actually
not completing the

the whole uh image generation.
Yeah, maybe we can update the code and
also explain all these things in the
text below the simulation canvas.
And currently 25% of the context window
token token wise. So 30,000 tokens out
of 128,000.
fixing the space shortcut improving demo

know which model generate repa mini I
think it's some sort of Microsoft model
anyone does anyone knows
I think it's a new Microsoft model but
it's just an aggregate or something a
minified model used for coding so It's
pretty quick. It's pretty quick.

manual testing for these things which is

yeah the image is getting up to that
that level of uh detail when I bombard
it with ultrasound.
But in demo mode, we need to check that
it's getting to the same level of
detail. Uh before resetting
kind of I think it's fine. What do you
think? It's getting there. No one will
notice unless you mention it.
So that's pretty good. So now if you
overtake in demo mode, you can fire emit

for the whole simulation game thing.
uh what problems we were facing, how did
we solve them in the code and any future
future directions, any other problems
that we could be, you know, solving,
improving this uh web application.

educational ultrasound demo with a left
side physics view showing the probe and
sound waves and a right side B mode

We were trying to make it feel more like
a real interactive tool with demo mode
running when the user is idle, keyboard
controls, and cleaner audio feedback so
it doesn't just become a noisy
distraction. The main problems were that
the spacebar was still allowing the page
to scroll instead of always firing a
pulse when the user was focused on the
canvas and that demo mode wasn't really
completing enough sweeps before it wiped
the image. In the code, we fixed the key
down handler so space prevents the
default browser behavior and emits a
pulse. And since any manual action stops
demo mode, the user can take over
immediately. We also changed demo mode
so it moves the probe across the skin
region in a sequence of steps, fires
pulses on each step, and only clears the
B mode image after two full sweeps. That
gives the image time to build up and
makes the demo cycle feel natural
instead of cutting off too early. We
also made the screen give clearer
feedback when demo starts or stops and
when the image is auto cleared, so
people aren't left wondering why the
view reset. Plus, the demo button now
updates its label to show whether demo
is on or off, which is more intuitive.
For future work, we could make the demo
status even more visible with a small
counter or progress indicator. smooth
the probe motion even more, improve the
echosonification so it matches specific
tissue types better and add more
clinical controls like gain, frequency
or probe selection that would make the
web app feel more polished and more
educational over time.

Uh we have a bunch of uh tools like

And they're kind of nice
because well for various reasons. First
you might think it's not uh biomed
relevant or something. Well it kind of
is. Well everything is. I mean you're
using your mouse in this case using your
hearing.
You can change the symmetry. So this one
uh it's a lot of maths in that uh one
thing except we're not showing any maps.
There's a bit of a sound uh like funny
sound thingy there.
The sound is only mapped
to the vertical
to the vertical thing. But essentially
what it's good for is testing [crying]
coding agents
and they're getting much better
as we speak. So
it's changing the symmetry on the
have dark mode.
It's pretty amazing.

would you fix or change about it? Seem

the font color. So, it's like basic
basic things like that that uh obviously
in super easy fix,
but otherwise looks pretty pretty pretty
pretty impressive.

sonification was only mapped to the
y-axis [crying] to the vertical
uh vertical motion as opposed to
horizontal. When you move it
horizontally, it doesn't change the
frequency. It should changing the
amplitude should be mapped to amplitude
as well.
So depending how many tokens we still
have, we might
uh fix it as well. And should be doing
more automated testing
because currently I'm testing everything
manually.
