Video summary

Mrs. Moto Cafire, the wife of Hon. Mutotwe Kafwaya, has issued a desperate appeal to the government regarding the mysterious disappearance and alleged death of her husband following a military raid on his residence. She recounts that she last saw him early Friday morning before he left for work, and after failing to reach him by midday, she began calling his phone around 17:00 hours only to find it ringing unanswered. The situation escalated when the state confirmed that friends of Mr. Kafwaya were apprehended at his home during a raid, yet his name was notably absent from the official list of those taken into custody. Despite this confirmation, a witness named Mr. Brian Midia stated that he saw Mr. Kafwaya being shot twice, leaving Mrs. Cafire and her children in a state of profound uncertainty about whether her husband is alive or dead. The emotional toll on the family has been severe, with Mrs. Cafire describing the agonizing wait since Friday night as abnormal and distressing for everyone involved. Her youngest child constantly asks where their father is and how long he will be away, while other children in school are struggling to concentrate on their upcoming exams due to the trauma of losing a parent without closure. The family is currently in a legal and logistical dilemma because they cannot hold a funeral or make proper arrangements without first accessing the body, yet the government has not provided clear information on his location or status. Mrs. Cafire emphasizes that the state's responsibility lies with them since they confirmed the raid occurred at her husband's house and that he was shot there, leaving the family to wonder how safe he is in custody. In her plea for assistance, Mrs. Cafire highlights the critical impact of this uncertainty on her physical and mental health, warning that she fears she may suffer fatal consequences if the situation remains unresolved. She notes that while families of the apprehended friends have been released to visit their loved ones, her family has been denied access to Mr. Kafwaya, creating an unfair disparity in how the state is handling the case. The transcript concludes with her urgent request for the government to intervene immediately to clarify his whereabouts and condition, as the continued silence and lack of information are causing immense suffering to the entire family unit who are left waiting in fear and confusion.
