instant match reaction. Bournemouth 1,
Everton 1. I wanted to do this live, but
I am in Wales and the internet isn't
brilliant. So, um
apologies cuz I'd like to have uh
reacted to some of your comments. I will
try and do the player ratings live maybe
if I can. I'll have to see if I can get
uh the Wi-Fi a little bit better, but um
Obviously, let's talk about the game.
Everton have drawn 1-1
with a last-minute equalizer
uh from James Tarkowski who uh was at
fault very much for the Bournemouth
goal.
Obviously, that we'll talk about the
Harrison Armstrong thing thing in a
minute, but um
obviously, relieved to see that he was
starting. Maybe his last game in an
Everton shirt.
Probably is his last game in an Everton
shirt unless the people who were selling
them and I don't know who is selling
them. I don't I don't kind of imagine
it's David um
changed their mind by the reaction of
the fan base.
Um
I thought we started the game really
well. I thought we took it to
Bournemouth and
we've had some really good chances which
we have not taken.
Bar he's had a couple of really big
chances.
Um
Certainly, the second one from the
George shot which we bounded to him. He
should be doing better. He gets another
one just before half-time. We've
obviously had the Branthwaite header as
well which the keeper has made a great
save. So, really we could have
we could have easily been at head one or
two, but we never took them and
basically just like we've seen Everton
do a lot.
The Bournemouth break it's a long ball
over the top
and Tarky basically
gets caught on his heels which you know,
a lot of people were very very if
worried about.
And uh they've held it up and they
finished took a deflection off Mykolenko
to go in, but then they've gone in at
1-0 at half-time. And to be honest,
second half
we never got going really. We had some
moments. Barry again did have one
massive chance which he really should
score.
And obviously, we should have had a
penalty. I mean, I just
don't know how these people keep on
making these rules up where it's
Oh, it's accidental or there's no such
thing as accidental if you're brought
down in the box.
Accidental or not accidental, it's a
penalty. It's a clear penalty.
It's It's If
It makes me laugh when people go it was
accidental, but then you see that one
all the time where someone's going to
kick the ball away and doesn't know the
player is there, kicks him, and it's a
penalty. And that's always stonewall,
but this one, "Oh, no, it's it's
it's accidental." How it hasn't been
given in our VAR, I haven't given it I I
just I've no idea. It was a stonewall
penalty.
And after that, we just looked really
ragged.
We We were We just a We were We were a
mess. Uh James Garner, to be fair,
was not fit, does not look fit
whatsoever.
Um and you know, he There was a big hole
in midfield, basically.
We We just haven't replaced I know, you
know, last week
Harrison Armstrong and Hayden Hackney
got a
lot of plaudits, but it was sort of the
same problem
this week is that there's no one who's
sitting in front of the back four.
There's no one who anticipates the
danger like Idrissa Gueye did. So,
you find yourself
being on, you know, when people are
breaking against you with the our
midfield are the wrong side and they're
running back. And that's because
James Garner's not that kind of player.
Hackney's not that kind of player.
Armstrong's not that kind of player. And
we don't have someone at the club other
than Doucouré, and he's injured and no
one knows how long he's going to be out
for. Obviously, there's a lot of rumors
going around, but no one actually knows
how long he's going to be out for. Um,
he can just sit in front of the back
four and obviously with the pace, no
pace of Tarky.
Brantwaite still a little bit. I think
he's still only like 80%. I think he's
just getting there.
We showed them when Mykolenko
went sliding in.
And me and Roll looked absolutely
knackered.

we were very, very lucky on their
counter attacks.
Um,
very lucky and to be fair, Mykolenko had
to make a couple of brilliant blocks
later on. Pickford's made a save or two.
Punching from corners, all these
different I mean, let's be honest, they
should have they should have um,
they actually made a brilliant block as
well. They should have made it 2-0. And
then last minute we get a corner and
it's not even a good corner to be honest
but two Bournemouth players bump into
each other, force for Tarky and I'll be
honest, it was a brilliant it was
absolutely brilliant finish. Um,
and it had to be we had to get something
out of this game because let's be
honest,
up till this morning I think there was a
little bit of harmony or I wouldn't say
harmony as such. I think um,
I think
there's a lot of there's been a lot of
talk and a lot of noise in the
background.
But, you know, waking up to the news of
that Forest. I mean, I wouldn't be asked
if it was like Manchester City or or
someone like that but for someone like
Forest,
no disrespect to them but
Forest shouldn't be coming and taking
our most biggest prospects.
They just really shouldn't.
Um,
so I mean I I will come on to that.
So it was so important. The fans made
their voice heard which was which was
really important. David Moyes I think by
picking the player showed that it's not
obviously he doesn't want to sell him.
I just think
so it was so so it was really important
we got something.
Really important that we got something.
Um
And we're on four points and that's not
a bad start at all in the next round of
the cup.
But obviously moving on to the Hackney
situation
Someone has made
a terrible mistake at Everton Football
Club. Someone has made
Someone is gambling
really with
Everton and our you know and our future
and what they think
we're prepared to take as a fan base.
Um
Is it a case of
there's clearly unhappiness
clearly unhappiness between David Moyes
David Moyes doesn't isn't getting his
what he wants. Okay.
And
it feels like Angus Kinnear can't give
him what he wants unless someone gets
sold.
And I feel like
I feel like maybe I think I think
probably what's happened but I don't
know what's happened. But I'm reading
between the lines of
David Moyes doesn't want to Jai to leave
but wants
players. Obviously that's clear.
And Everton looking for sellable assets
and no one wants to buy Patterson and no
one wants to buy
Carlos Alcaraz and Deale Boone and
stuff's gone. I mean Deale Boone came on
today at right back which is incredible.
Um
And Everton haven't got that sellable
asset to
maybe get the ball rolling.
And and
I don't know whether there was
encouragement by us to other clubs to
say well Harrison Armstrong is available
or [snorts] whether Forest have come in
but the simple fact is Everton Everton
have not denied like Everton haven't
come out straight away and rebuffed the
offer so
that's very very worrying and that's
it seems like that's going to be
Harrison Armstrong's last game in an
Everton shirt unless
people change their mind or
or or they don't or they don't know or
we're just not simply not going to get
any players and is David Moyes David
Moyes going to clearly be very angry. I
think we're all very angry. I think if
I'd done this video 3 hours ago I'd be
absolutely fuming.
Um
and the fact that I'm not doing it live
I think makes me comes to me to and I'm
not in me own house as well.
Um
but
it's it's
it's
the whole thing's a farce. The whole
thing is a farce. You know
we went into this summer and all we were
asking for really was a right back and
just getting play just getting some
players in.
And we still haven't got a right back
and we're looking to sell one of our
best players who you know if you watch
the match we view what's the starting 11
we're talking about this lad as the
future of our football comes far as
we're concerned.
And now we're looking at selling him
we're looking at
you know
I just I
I just find this
I I
I find it I know it's become part of
football in the last few years and we've
seen the likes of you know Villa haven't
Villa doing this and obviously we've
done it.
But you're trying to sell us this
football club you've built this new
ground
and you're trying to sell us this idea
of
where Everton are going and then you're
selling our best young player. They
don't tally up. They don't tally up and
then you talk and then you're talking in
interviews or
or between the lines of oh Everton this
is where we're going this is where this
is what we're doing.
It's
it's a farce. The whole thing's a farce
and the backlash from the fans
if Harrison goes I mean I
I don't know I don't know what it will
be. Ultimately ultimately I don't know
what it will be.
I think for me I mean the amount the
things that people have said to me is
just like
you know obvious obviously straight away
people reacting is that's it for me.
But for me I just
you just lose you you just think to
yourself it's not about selling a
player. It's it's just thinking about
what's the point?
What what's the point?
Obviously the window doesn't shut till
Tuesday.
So you don't know how it will all play
out, but you just thinking what's the
point? Is this who is this who we are?
You know, we're we're on one hand we're
being told that our season tickets are
going to be X amount and the you know,
all the food and all the drink and
everything else goes up in the ground
and then we're selling our best player.
I mean what what kind of um
What does it say What does that say?
What does that say to your fan base is
that if that's what you're looking to
do?
You know, go and pay more money for a
ticket. Oh yeah, but we're selling your
best player for not your one of your
best young players for 40 million quid
cuz actually we're skint.
Cuz actually we can't make the numbers
work.
That to me is just the joke. And then on
the flip side of that, they're desperate
to bring Jack Grealish in on 200,000
pound a week. I mean how does that work
out?
How does that work?
You know, are they going to be do that
are they going to be like, well, do you
know what? If we give them Jack and we
get Richarlison in and we sell and Jai
and we sell or we sell um
Harrison Armstrong. They'll they'll
they'll they'll get on with that. Yeah,
just get Richarlison back. Everyone
everyone loves Richarlison.
It's a farce. That's a farce.
And
we've got to this position, but the
thing about it is is that we've got to
this position without that sort of being
made clear to us. Even behind the scenes
no one's ever said to us
probably going to have to sell a player,
you know.
So
don't be, you know, and this is why like
six weeks ago I was advocating and Jai
get if we could get them big money for
and Jai to just it's done then. It's
he's gone. I you know, I don't think Jai
looked
didn't look asked today if I'm honest. I
just didn't think he looked asked.
Um
but
this is the kind of thing just just says
the fans what's the point?
What's the point? You promised us the
world with this new stadium.
And it's the same old same old. And for
a lot of people it would have been could
have just stayed at Goodison. Now we
could never have just stayed at Goodison
obviously because financially we
wouldn't have no chance. But you know
what I mean, people like well you're
talking about at Goodison I didn't want
to leave Goodison. You promised us good
things and you still selling our young
players.
It's it's it's
for me
it's really really poor. It's really sad
as well. Really sad to just see your
football club.
And no one's happy. No one's happy.
David Moyes isn't happy. I don't If he
doesn't get the players then he won't be
happy.
The squad
I mean the players today they looked
absolutely knackered with 20 minutes to
go. You know, the players who played on
Wednesday night. That's not saying we
should have gone stronger Wednesday
night, but what it says is is that the
players who are coming off the bench
um
aren't aren't there and that's what
David Moyes is saying. And he is right
and there's no arguments on that. The
squad's The squad isn't good enough. It
isn't big enough. And we've got the
likes of Neal Maupay and James Garner
still trying to get back from fitness
and the center back situation's a mess.
Um
And everything everyone said about
Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, you
know, for a lot of people will will ring
true today. Personally I
no I actually
think Jarrad Branthwaite is the answer.
I think we need another center back, but
we give a contract to Michael Keane
instead.
Um
you know, we're losing Asmir Begović on
loan. Well, if the squad's not big
enough, why are we sending Asmir on
loan? There's so much that just doesn't
make sense at this football club.
There's just no joined-up thinking and
that's my biggest worry is that clearly
David Moyes
and Angus Kinnear and TSG they're just
not aligned whatsoever and it's they're
they're so So, what what's the point?
So,
why is David Moyes the manager then if
they're not aligned with the manager? If
they can't give what the manager wants,
why is he the manager?
Cuz ultimately, if they can't give him
what he wants, there's no point.
If he If he refuses to accept what
they're giving him, then what's the then
what's the point?
They all have to be aligned. Even if
it's only for a short space of time,
they all have to be on the same page and
it's clear that they're not on the same
page.
And it leaves us in this situation,
wouldn't it? Where
we're a decent team, but
I'm you know, we've got loads of fight,
loads of character, but at the same
time,
we'll [snorts] be you know, when
it when the crunch part of the season
come like last season, we'll be treading
water again or we'll be
swimming against the tide cuz everyone
will be knackered. So, it's a really,
really poor situation and obviously,
we'll have to see how it plays out.
But,
it just it just just feels really,
really crap. So, that's just made up we
got managed to grab someone something
today if I'm honest cuz obviously, it
could have been a lot worse. Fantastic
that the fans made their voice known cuz
no one no one wants to see Harrison
Armstrong leave. No one thinks it makes
any sense.
No Evertonian is of the of the mind of
like, "Oh yeah, well, if we sell him, we
can do this and do that and do the
other." Whatever Evertonian is saying
is, "Why on earth do we have to sell
Harrison Armstrong? Why on earth do we
have to sell one of our best young
talents
to buy a right back or get Jack
Grealish?"
Or whatever it Do you know what I mean?
It doesn't None of it makes any sense.
None of it makes any sense. It's not
like we spent a fortune, by the way,
this this window. Far from it. Far from
it. You know, we're still quite close to
the bottom of the spends.
You know, with the teams who have
actually spent an absolute fortune,
we've not done that.
And it just something does not feel
right at all. And as I said, not putting
the blame on because I don't know. So,
I'm not just going to suddenly go, "Oh,
it's his fault or his fault or his
fault." I don't think David Moyes wants
to sell Adam Armstrong.
But, obviously he's the man that new
plays.
So, what is going on? I'm sure it'll all
come out in the next few days, and
obviously
the transfer deadline's going to be um
well, you'd hope it was really busy for
Everton, but what will what will be the
thing or is there something that needs
to kick start that?
Yeah, we'll find out. You know, it's
it's just

day, and it's not something you need
waking up on the morning of a match day,
and and and I'm sure the manager for him
this will have this will have tested
them him as well. I'm sure he would have
known about him last night or whatever,
but
it just seems a massive massive farce.
Um
so,
happy we got the point, but obviously
there's bigger things to play here here
at the moment, and um Everton fans are
obviously not going to be happy about
