Uh, good evening. Welcome to the board of licensed commissioners meeting September 17, 2026 at 5:30m via Zoom. Um, pursuant to chapter 2 of the acts of 2025, this meeting will be conducted via remote means. Members of the public who wish to access the meeting remotely may do so via Zoom or by telephone. No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time via technological means. Those are the smaller shows. Um and they're set up with a cash bar and snacks provided for purchase along with the alcohol. Um, and that's uh basically what you have in front of you. >> Okay. >> Anything new or different, Bill, and how you're doing uh all this visa v how the liquor stuff's being handled? >> Um, no, nothing. Uh, you know, we have a manager on duty that's there to oversee. Um, you know, the the bartenders are all tip certified and uh, you know, it seems to be working well. So, we haven't had any issues. Mhm. >> Um and they had some details about the um there's an emergency exit in the back here, an entrance exit in the front. >> The bars will be or food will be here and the bar will be here and there'll be a DJ there as well. >> Okay. >> Do you know anything about that emergency exit? I'm thinking of a bar that had some problems with one. Um, I do know that it will be a uh it's a it's not something they're constructing. There's an there's a tent that's semi- permanent um that's been put up there and it has integrated walls. I was wondering if we could um if it would worth it to go back to the liquor license regulations, especially the punitive section. Um because I was thinking that the last two, not that this has been a trend, but the two times that we've had a hearing, a disciplinary hearing. I think we have the first what we can do, our first thing is is a warning and then we launch into suspension. But I think by the time somebody gets to us, like they've already had plenty of warnings, usually from the police department and the ABCC, and we have just gone ahead with like a three-day midweek suspension. So, I was just wondering if we wanted to go back and look at that and um maybe just cut out the warning entirely and maybe What does everybody think? >> Is there a scale? Don't we say like a warning to re revocation? I don't think >> Oh, is there >> I don't know. I know we talked about that. Steve, do you have them handy by any chance? >> I do. Let me pull it up. It's like any It's just something I want to think about in the future like we could always go back. We don't have to change. >> How is how is the board alerted to these things? A little bit like I had two cocktails and beer from my country >> like um is just for 100 person. Um, I don't get naked yet, but too many people confirm to go. I don't put the liquid yet because I don't know I have the license or not. And the Rudies is who send me the the liquid tomorrow, but the Rudies need the paper to I have the license for the liquid. So he waited for that and I said to the Lord for me and he said for tomorrow the wines it's just like a seven bottle the wine and one box the beer. >> Oh okay. So you've got some some so it's not extensive. It's just you said a couple cocktails, some wine and some beer all from Chile. Correct. It's like a two different cocktail is one the red wine with strawberry and the other one is like the name is terramoto is h pineapple ice cream granadina um wine and white wine sweet white wine >> okay >> it's really typical my country >> okay >> sounds wonderful I I I the only concern we had was that um uh if folks would be maybe coming in through the fire exit uh and you know getting somebody who has a wristband to give them alcohol. As much as anything we just wanted to make sure that you're aware of that risk. >> Yeah. The thing is the party is not for like a young guys. It's more for local people. The nor am because I have a music is not like a really dancy music. It's like a more protestic music like a more 607 like a music for that. He's call me Jose Gonzalez. He made music. It's not for dancing. It's more for sit and drink wine and try to eat some something from chiller. >> So, how are you going to card people to make sure they're 21? >> Going inside, we check babies. >> Checking IDs. Okay. When when they enter or when they come up to the bar? Because when I enter on the bar, everyone we check the for I have one person on the is is for free. Every people is coming this. >> Okay. So, one just I want to clarify this because I came in and out. There's one person who is certified who is serving. You expect approximately a hundred people to come to the event. So he'll be serving the drinks and he or she will be monitoring like you know keeping an eye on to make sure people I know the cocktails are expensive but still people might spend money and have more than you think so you are prepared to make sure that you know just to kind of monitor people. >> Well always on the restaurant always we we made like a two or three drink per person. Good. >> I might suggest Matias, one thing you can do is take a marker and draw a line on somebody's bracelet or wristband when they're served a drink so you can see how many they've they've had. >> Well, >> I'm just I just want to summarize We I think right now I we made mark on the bras for how many green houses. So he hoping for by one we make one mark we one mark and three of those. >> Okay. >> Um just I just want to summarize just my concern or at least what my questions are getting at because I don't think I've been straight about it. The concern is that you your location and just being in Ammerst in general is very close to UMass and underage drinking in general. That's a lot of what we are, you know, when we talk about carding and the exit and this and that.
