BK Beauty Is Trying Makeup Again… Skin Perfecting Blush UNFILTERED thoughts

A launch that I'm so excited to talk about today happened today. BK Beauty is coming back to the color cosmetic market with their skin perfecting blushes. I have all seven shades today that I'm going to share with you, swatch, apply, and then as always give you my most honest thoughts on the formula as well to help you decide if this is a worthy purchase for you to add to your collection. >> [music] >> I'm really excited about these because BK Beauty is back into Color Cosmetics. If you followed the brand for a while, you know back in the day they had an eyehadow palette. They had lipsticks that were very beautiful shades, lip liners, and so they took some time to focus on brushes, but now they are back into the world of makeup. And just knowing with the previous launches, Lisa has such a way with very beautiful, natural, flattering colors. So, I just know that these blushes are going to be beautiful. I'm excited to dive into the shades. Now, this blush was formulated in Korea, so of course it has some of the best skinare ingredients like Hoba oil, hyaluronic acid, and skin conditioning peptide. Lisa said she did not cut corners with anything about these blushes, and I can tell they are $38, which of course is quite pricey for a blush. However, already first impressions, I haven't even opened these blushes, and I can tell this is expensive packaging. It is very luxurious, very weighty. I dropped this on my foot, Lisa, and it hurt. I won't sue for damages, but Youch. Yeah, these are very, very weighty, very sturdy. They have a magnetic closure here and it feels pretty strong. So, I don't think it's going to like open up in your makeup bag. The only thing that I don't like about this packaging, which just comes with the nature of this packaging, because it's magnetic, you can't store the blushes standing up or down because they repel one another. Jose, insert a video that I took of my phone. If you do want to store them side by side, you're going to have to flip them in opposite directions uh in order to store them. So, I don't love that because I love to store my blushes, you know, with the shades showing out, but they repel one another. So, that's the one thing. It comes with the nature of this packaging. I know, but slightly annoying for storage, but you hear that heavy. So, if the formula is anything like the packaging, I'm expecting it to be very, very luxurious. Looking at the back here, these have a 12 month shelf life. Made in Korea. Let's get into it. I am really eyeing hardcore the shade petal. Now, these blushes I would imagine were formulated or at least fully tested with the use of BK Beauty brushes. So, I'll tag the ones that I'm using in Lisa's demo. She used the 116. I believe I personally don't love this brush so much for cream blushes. I just find it a bit dense for me. So, it applies a little too much pigment as as somebody who's heavy-handed. Like, I can't also have a dense brush. But this is an option that you can use. My personal favorite brush to apply blushes, which we'll see how these work today with these, is the 109 brush. This is the signature BK Beauty Kitten Paw shape, and it just fits the cheek so lovely. Bronzer, blush. I'll even use this for concealer and foundation. But it's one of my go-tos, probably my number one go-to for blushes. So, you'll see me use this today. But I actually saw in her demo video she also used the M20. This is from her collaboration with Nikila Rose. So I definitely want to try this today. I normally use this brush for powder blushes, but I think it'll be interesting to see what kind of application I can get with cream. Enough housekeeping. Let's get into it. Packaging is very Westminatilierish. So if you like that Westminatilier vibe, if you like that Westminatilier vibe, you will love this packaging. This first shade here is petal. This is a soft neutral pink. Beautiful glide. It has more of a satin finish. I don't see a glow, which I'm used to seeing with blushes nowadays because that's what's really trendy. But I truly appreciate that this doesn't have a glow. I think this is going to be flattering on the cheek and it should kind of go with whatever base you have underneath. So, it's matte. So, if your base is matte, this looks like a finish that will go along with that matte finish. Or if you have like a glowy base, this looks like it will also be glowy if you put this on top. But we'll see. I don't know. This is flush. A bright pink. Haze, a muted mauvey rose. Oh, that's beautiful. Bloom is a soft peachy pink. Poppy, a cool pink. Afterglow, a warm rosy bronze, and finally cherry, a cool red. Absolutely gorgeous shades. Once again, we have petal, flush, haze, bloom, poppy, afterglow, and cherry. My critique with this range of colors, which it's just the first launch, but Lisa, if you were ever to expand on any colors, I'd love to see some nudes, some beiges, some much more neutral tones because these are going to be beautiful and bright on the cheeks, but would love a bl would love a beige. Would love a nude, maybe a blondes. All right, let's see. I'm just going to apply Petal with my favorite brush. Now, when it comes to applying cream blushes, this is how I prefer to apply them because I do feel like I have the most control with the amount of pigment. And I'm going to zoom in. I mean, this to me is my ideal everyday color. Okay, nice. It's not a super pigmented blush. This color, at least, I'm sure when we get to cherry, that one will be quite pigmented, but it adds kind of the perfect amount of pigment for me, my complexion. Let's see if we can build it up. Oh yeah, you can easily build this up to get much more pigment, making this much more versatile for more skin tones. Now, I'm going to over apply the colors because I want them to really be seen on camera. And I want to show you their buildability, their blendability, great easy application, and yeah, it's definitely a finish that will kind of go with whatever finish you have for your base. So, if you're wearing matte, this might add like the tiniest bit of sheen, but nothing out of place. It's not going to be a finish that looks weird with a really glowy foundation because it's not too glowy at all, but I think if you have a glowy base, that base will show through. And this is such a pretty color. All right, I want to test this brush, the N20. We will do flush next because it is a bit of a brighter pink. So, I'm just going to put this over. So, you can see we have the color here. Yeah. So, if you're very heavyhanded with blush or you're very fair, so blush colors can hit very vibrant very quickly, this is a great blush. Wait, this is blush brush. Blush brush. Very confusing. This is a great brush to just apply the littlest layer of color. Just a wash. So, that one looks really natural. I'm going to build it up. Start patting to show you the true nature of the color. And the tone is completely different from petals. So, they're not even going to be close at all. If you love a brighter pink, this is flush. Next, let's do haze. That's that mauvey color. So, it's a rosy mauve. This one is right up my alley. This one looks good with like purple tones if you wear a lot of purple eyes shadow. Beautiful buildable formula. I love that. If you're curious about the feel of these sticks, it's not like a super slick formula. There's a little bit of drag which leads me to believe that it will last longer and that also will help contribute to a more blurred effect on the cheeks because it does look pretty blurred and it looks really nice and smooth as well. I think bloom will be a pretty popular shade. This one is more peachy. Yep. love. This is like the perfect spring color. All right, let's do Poppy next. This one, since it's a little bit of a brighter shade, this will be great for deeper complexions. Going to use the N20 and see just by changing the brush, it can create the most natural flush of color. Oh, love, love, love. Like this could potentially look a little bit scary, but it's the prettiest natural berry shade. This is definitely a winter weather recommendation because it gives that I've been out in the snow kind of look. So pretty. It's just a wash. Afterglow also looks right up my alley. This is like warm rosy bronze as they described it. really beautiful. And yeah, I'm learning to appreciate the finish of this even more because I truly feel it not being the most emolient cream blush was intentional because it really is contributing to this nice blurred application and finish on the skin, which I think is also, you know, it's going to make it last longer, too. Yeah, this one for me is also Petal and Afterglow are great natural everyday colors that I would see myself reaching for a lot. All right, let's do the last shade. Cherry, which if you're around my complexion might seem like the most intimidating shade, but red can be surprisingly natural. I will say this is a pretty like hot red shade. But if you just do a little bit how pretty and natural that can be. It gives like a runner's flush. Up a little bit on the nose. This is what we're wearing today because, you know, this is a blush color that I personally would never reach for, but it can surprise you when you put it on. I just set my face with powder. So, just for review sake, we're going to see how this layers on top of powder. Normally, not something I would do. So, if it doesn't work out, great. Not that big of a deal. But I know some people do. And it is important to know I am using the stipple brush, so this will help work with that, but I'm not noticing any difference. I never really recommend to put cream over powder, but sometimes you forget, you know, you set with powder and you're like, wait a second. So, in the case of that emergency, this seems to be working out really well. So long as you use a light hand because if you take a really dense brush and do this I would imagine it would move the makeup underneath which not because of the blush. That's just how makeup works. Yeah. And it doesn't look funny over the powder at all. It hasn't made the base look weird or dry or patchy. And I can attribute that probably to the finish [snorts] of this blush since it's not like super wet glowy like blushes are nowadays. It's not moving that powder underneath. It's just kind of soaking into it. So really nice, easy to use formula. I mean absolutely beautiful. I love the airbrush flush that I have on my face right now that was provided by the shade cherry. So I think if you pick these up, you will be more than happy with the formula. It does seem pretty flexible and versatile. So, if anything funky happens with the wear, I will let you know down below.
