Bill Maher Cries About “Crazy” Lefties While an ACTUAL Lunatic Destroys the Country

Nothing's crazier than cancelling Thanksgiving. >> You don't with Thanksgiving. I think we've learned that as we sit here. But I thought that it was important to start the video with that clip because it really encapsulates why things are so bad in this country. And I really mean that. America has been taken over by a fascist authoritarian madman who's currently trying to rig the upcoming election by forcing the US postal service to disenfranchise millions of mailin voters. And on top of that, food recalls are surging in part because the Trump regime gutted regulatory agencies. He's plundered the natural resources of a country whose president he illegally kidnapped. He's escalating his war with Iran, which he didn't get congressional authorization for. And the extremist Supreme Court just gave Trump permission to break the law again by greenlighting his ballroom even though the chief justice admitted that that's illegal. And this is after the Supreme Court gave him near absolute immunity following his attempt to overthrow the US government. But Bill Maher and every other hack in US media is talking about how crazy we are on the left. You know what I find crazy personally? all of the [ __ ] that Donald Trump is doing right now. You know what else I find crazy? The fact that the Republican speaker of the house is endorsing a candidate who was accused of breaking his daughter's collarbone and throwing boiling water on his wife. I feel like that's orders of magnitude more crazy than any tweet from Franchesca Hong. But as you saw, they're still bringing up her old tweets about Thanksgiving weeks after she lost the [ __ ] election. Okay, we get it. You don't like that tweet that she made about Thanksgiving. Can we move on? Well, of course not. We can't talk about anything substantive because they're still focused on meaningless [ __ ] They're also pretending like we're against football now, too. When even if that were true, which it isn't, don't you think that the president being accused of pedophilia is a more pressing issue? Don't you think that the unprecedented corruption and insider trading we're seeing from the White House is of greater concern than our woke takes on football? Don't you think that his mass murder of boats in the Caribbean is a little bit more meaningful and important to talk about? It's like getting pissed off because you stubbed your toe after you got your [ __ ] head chopped off. Their priorities are [snorts] completely ass backwards. But at least Bill Maher agrees that we're not too crazy for pointing out the objective fact that factory farming does in fact contribute to climate change. Thank you so much, Bill Maher, for defending us there. At least some facts are still uh acceptable to uh the centrist wing of the Democratic party. But I mean there's still a sizable number of people in this country who do think it's crazy to even believe in climate change, but they're not the crazy ones. We're the crazy ones. Why? Because we're just a we're just a country of selfish simpleans who decided to rent our brains out to corporate news pundits on billionaireowned networks. That's what this is about. Now, if you're not terminally online enough to know what disgrace journalist Brian Williams was even talking about with regard to our supposed opposition to the NFL, it's this comment from Abdul Elsed, a former high school football player who has some constructive criticism of the sport that he once played in. football um is very much associated with a you know particularly masculine and oftentimes toxic toxically masculine uh culture and so much of it was about you wanted to be able to get back up and play for your team and you you really aren't allowed to show pain or vulnerability that's part of the sport. >> Well, he made a reasonable observation about a sport that he used to play so it must mean that the left is anti-NFL more broadly. Sure, why not? Hey Brian, do you remember why NBC News suspended you for 6 months without pay and why you had to apologize? It was because you were caught embellishing a story about the Iraq war. And I just want to point out, Brian, that you're doing that again. You're exaggerating and mischaracterizing something that Abdul said, which demonstrates that you're still a bullshitter. So why exactly would we listen to anything you have to say ever again when you've proven time and time again that you're full of [ __ ] you're willing to stretch the truth for any particular narrative that you're trying to promote. See, I expect Republicans to do that, but one would think a self-proclaimed journalist would hold himself to a higher standard, but apparently not. And he's basically doing the Republican party's work for them because Mike Rogers doesn't have a policy agenda. He's trying to paint Abdul as anti-OOT to distract people from the fact that his party has no agenda aside from just [ __ ] up the country and the world. Listen to an ad that Mike Rogers, Abdul Elsa's opponent, is running. My dad was a football coach at Redford Union. I played football all through high school. On the grid iron, I learned about teamwork [music] and toughness. Abdul, well, he says football is racist, sexist, and dominated by toxic masculinity. So, let's get this straight. Abdul thinks football is bad, but men playing women's sports is good. That's just not who we are in [music] Michigan. >> Well, I guess that settles it. I no longer want Abdul to give me healthcare because he said those things about the NFL. Like, what exactly am I supposed to do with this information? I [laughter] mean, I I can't I can't like the concept of somebody seeing that ad thinking, "Wow, I can't support this guy." is mind-boggling to me. Okay. And if he supports trans athletes in sports, doesn't that imply that he's at least nominally pro sports? [laughter] I mean, it doesn't even matter. It doesn't matter because it's an ad aimed at peasantrained [ __ ] to get them riled up about non-issues so that way they continue to vote against their own self-interest so that way the Epstein class can continue to rob them blind. It's only supposed to dupe low propensity and low information voters, but it apparently worked on educated multi-millionaires like Brian Williams, too. Like, [laughter and gasps] I I can't take I can't take it. I'm going to lose my [ __ ] [ __ ] guys. And it's frustrating to me because this is why we live in hell right now. Do you understand what I'm saying? Trump can spark a trade war with our Canadian neighbors for no reason whatsoever and starve the entire country of Cuba to fment regime change. and all Republicans have to do is say squirrel and everyone chases after the squirrel and forgets about the crimes that Trump committed. It's crazy. The fact that that works is a testament to our stupidity as a country. If the president illegally invades a country that didn't attack us or gets exposed as a serial pedophile, I feel like we should be smart enough to not fall for obvious distractions that they're going to deploy so we don't talk about that thing. It's not supposed to work. at least not that well, but it does. And the fact that it does is outrageous to me. Can you imagine how easy life would be if this kind of thing worked in non-political context? Sorry, officer. You know, I know I was speeding, but have you heard about the wokes transing your kids in schools? I'm sorry for sexing that girl, babe, but uh did you know that Hassan [ __ ] said America deserved 911? Sure, I might have gotten my dick stuck in a jacuzzi, but can you believe that Zoran mom Donnie is literally a Muslim? I mean, nobody would be stupid enough to fall for it in any other context, but in politics, it works for some reason. You can [ __ ] out some random story about a leftist saying defund the police, and the collective establishment will all shift their focus to that simultaneously. And it doesn't just work on the pundit class, to be clear. It also works on elected Democrats. For example, as The Hill reports, Democrats proposed a counter to a GOP resolution performatively condemning socialism. And you might think, "Wow, finally they're pushing back against the GOP's manufactured hysteria over socialism, right?" Well, wait until you find out what their counter measure is. The Hill explains, "Four Democratic lawmakers in the House of Representatives, Moscowitz, Swisi, Schultton, and Gothimer made a move Monday to publicly criticize socialism and the Democratic Socialists of America as a counter to a Republican resolution that would do [laughter] the same." The proposed democratic amendment to that resolution also denounces socialism, though it uses different language. Oh, that's clever. The authors list the failures of socialism and other nations in several controversial DSA positions like abolishing capitalism and the armed forces and called the DSA's ideology incompatible with American values and the United States Constitution. It also strips out the provision related to the Save America Act. So, let me get this straight. To counter the Republican party's resolution condemning socialism, they're offering their own resolution condemning socialism. Masterful gambit, Democrats. That'll show them they're never going to recover from this. You just own the Republicans. Now, to be fair, the reason why they're doing this, as the article alluded to, is because this is actually about the Republican party supporting voter suppression. And the way that they tried to bait Democrats into supporting voter suppression was to entice them with an antis-ocialist provision in the same resolution because if Democrats vote against voter suppression, they're simultaneously not condemning socialism which opens them up to attacks by Republicans in certain districts. Or it pisses off the Democratic party base. Win-win for Republicans, right? So these Democrats are trying to outmaneuver Republicans by giving centrist Democrats the chance to condemn socialism and voter suppression. So that way they're only pissing off a part of their base and not centrist voters as well. But I mean, all that they're doing is playing the Republicans game when they're the ones who should be setting the agenda and creating the rules that Republicans have to play by since Trump's popularity is at a record low. They have all the leverage in the world, but they have to follow the Republican party's lead and respond to what they're doing rather than putting the Republican party on the defensive. But this is what I mean. No matter how bad things get, Republicans have trained both pundits and Democrats to always talk about how bad the left is. It doesn't matter how many violent tweets Randy Fine makes about Muslims or how many times Laura Loomer an adviser to Donald Trump calls prominent black women ghetto [ __ ] in response to them by saying, "Okay, Sheniqua," like a [ __ ] clan member. The conversation is always going to be redirected back to the DSA or the left or Hassan Biker and how crazy and bigoted they are. It is the grossest double standard ever. And I I think a lot of people are actually getting tired of it finally because it's designed to stop us from having good faith conversations about the things that actually matter. And we desperately want to have those conversations given how poor of a state the country is in currently. And with regard to Laura Loomer, Lelay McGawan pointed out how differently she's being treated compared to Seah Hassan [ __ ] And everything that she said here on this CNN panel was on point. >> Yes, go condemn Laura Loomer. Oh, really? Uh, this but but this is all a distraction. This is all a distraction because because >> from you guys economy, I would agree with that. >> It is manufacturing racism because Florida is about to have a black governor. Byron, >> what the HECK DOES [laughter] THAT HAVE TO do with black manufactured racism? That's racism. That's straight up racism. It's not manufactured racism. It's so ignorant to say that we're truly so ignorant. She called her a ghetto black [ __ ] That is racist. Do not say it's manufactured racism. It is heinous to say that. And I'm so tired of it. Honest to God, the only reason we're talking about Hassan [ __ ] I'm sorry, is because he's on the left. We have had right-wing shock jocks for years. We had freaking Rush Limbong ringing a bell every time a gay person died of AIDS. We have Nick Fuentes dining at Mara Lago after he says your women are your body, my choice. We've got these right-wing Christian zealots who said women shouldn't vote and we're nothing but vessels. They are all on the right wing and they're we're not asking every single Republican candidate and and and sitting person if if they approve of them, if they should disown them, if they should do this. The only reason we're doing this is because it's one person from the left that said something extraordinary and we can't even have this one woman who is literally president. I'm old enough to remember when every Republican in Congress has asked to respond to things of freedom from the president we have right now. So please, >> she was absolutely spitting right there. It's not about whether or not Hassan's comments are controversial. They couldn't care less about that. It's about his ideology and the threat his ideology poses to the establishment as a prominent anti- capitalist voice who is growing in popularity. So, they'll go out of their way to twist his words and make it seem like he's anti-Semitic for opposing genocide, but then they'll give Laura Loomer and Randy Fine passes because regardless of how heinous their comments often are, fundamentally they are aligned with the establishment. So the establishment doesn't really have a good reason to attack those individuals. And the media's job, it's not to challenge power necessarily. It's to uphold the status quo. They're not interested in the truth. These are businesses, right? They're not even interested in neutrality. Their number one job is to destroy the left at the behest of large multinational corporations that pay them millions of dollars to advertise. And that is their goal because they are businesses above all else. And if you allow the left to gain a foothold in American politics, well, you're kind of threatening your own gravy train there because these corporations are aligned with these pundits and, you know, mainstream media news outlets. Don't get me wrong, you'll see some exceptions here and there with that CNN panel being one of them. But by and large, the media will always act as gatekeepers who will bend over backwards to ensure that the left never has a seat at the table. And whenever a leftist movement starts to emerge like Occupy Wall Street or a leftist candidate starts to surge like Bernie Sanders, corporate media is always going to be there to strangle that movement in the crib. And if that weren't the case, then they'd at least have the same energy for the president, right? They'd at least treat his Hassan [ __ ] as the most urgent issue or at least comparably urgent to Abdul being associated with Hassan [ __ ] And I say this because for all of the outrage about Hassan [ __ ] saying America deserved 911, Abby Phillips is the only pundit I've ever seen point out that the president's Hassan said something very similar. >> Hassan [ __ ] statements that the United States deserved 9/11 are to their core. >> We're right back to it. It's like you're allowed to final circle back to the believes that the United States did 9/11 to itself. So, I'm not so sure that that's a better situation to be defending, >> right? But again, it's a non-issue because Republicans are never held to the same standard. Abdul Elsa's opponent, by the way, also has his own Hassan [ __ ] And as many Hassan points out in an op-ed for the Guardian, nobody knows this because of the media's obsession with the real Hassan [ __ ] But Mike Rogers Hassan is named Lorenzo Su. He's an anti-Muslim extremist who happens to be the senior leader of the faith leaders for Mike Rogers team. And Su is bad enough in his own right, but he's also an individual who's co-organized events with out and proud neo-Nazis like Jake Lang, who was arrested in Texas of all places for making a terrorist threat. And unsurprisingly, many couldn't find a single instance of a journalist asking Mike Rogers to condemn Su for any of the comments that he made or even find one outlet reporting on this association. Right? He is associated with Su who is an extremist who does events with neo-Nazis and Mike Rogers even though he's done multiple events with Su as Abdul Elsa has done with Hassan Biker nobody's asking Mike Rogers about this association it's just it's crazy right Hassan [ __ ] is a bigoted anti-semite for opposing genocide but it's not bigotry or anti-semitism to align with the neo-Nazi who literally sigh hiles and talks about wanting to murder Muslims but if you condemn and the murder of Muslims, then you're a bigot worthy of a monthsl long news cycle and smear campaign. I mean, it's so transparent. How long are we going to continue to let Republicans set the parameters of what is acceptable in American political discourse? Do things have to get even worse? Does Trump have to drone strike an American on American soil or drop a [ __ ] nuke before we all wake up and stop falling for their obvious distractions? It's just so frustrating. It feels like no matter how bad things get, people like Bill Maher won't stop talking about the left and taking the right-wing bait and pretending like it's the left that's responsible for everything bad in the country. And look, let's face it, at the end of the day, Bill Maher's class interests aligns with the fascists more so than it aligns with the left. So, I'd argue that it's a little bit of self-interest as well as a little bit of bias. But either way, we don't have to play the GOP's game and be endlessly distracted by their vapid [ __ ] Candidates like Abdul Aly are demonstrating that you can actually force things that we care about into the national discourse like Medicare for all simply by being as relentless and disciplined as Republicans are. So, if we don't start doing that more frequently, then we really are doomed. So, I'll leave that there.
