Video summary

The Big Give Gage 2026 campaign is centered around a collaborative merchandise initiative led by Jessica from Production Creek, who will create customizable items like t-shirts, tote bags, and blankets for participating nonprofits. A key feature of this program is that ten dollars from every item sold goes directly back into the organization's fundraising pool, providing an additional revenue stream beyond traditional donations. To take advantage of this opportunity, organizations must submit their custom designs and information to Jessica by August 6th, ensuring there is sufficient time for production before the online store launches on August 13th. The merchandise window remains open until August 27th, after which all orders are finalized and distributed to donors. Nonprofits are encouraged to explore various product options beyond standard t-shirts to maximize visibility and fundraising potential. The official kickoff event is scheduled for August 13th at Stone Hollow Brewing, where nonprofit representatives are required to be present by 6:00 PM, with an earlier arrival recommended around 5:15 PM to maximize networking opportunities. The evening will feature food trucks starting at 5:00 PM, a live dance performance by the Lancaster County Line beginning at 6:30 PM, and concludes around 8:30 PM. This event serves as a mandatory gathering for all organizations to engage with the community, promote their projects, and participate in random impact stories that highlight how funds support local scholarships. Following the kickoff, National Nonprofit Day occurs from August 17th to 21st, during which the foundation will post social media spotlights on Facebook at specific times, requiring nonprofits to submit their content by August 10th to be included in these promotional efforts. Fundraising activities officially begin on August 13th and continue through September 9th, culminating in Big Give Day on September 10th at the Vintage Venue. On this day, there are limited booth spaces available for organizations to set up tables from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with a strict limit of 30 spots allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The event includes food trucks that donate ten percent of their profits to the support-all fund, raffle drawings every half hour offering additional prizes, and live spotlights for participating nonprofits. Additionally, in-person donation drop-off locations will be available at Heritage Inn and other surrounding communities like Wymore, Portland, Adams, and Odell to accommodate donors who prefer not to drive directly to the main venue. Beyond the core event dates, the campaign emphasizes community engagement through yard signs distributed after August 13th, social media toolkits, and partnerships with local businesses such as Scooters, which will offer punch cards that donate five dollars per completed card to the collective fund. Organizations are also encouraged to host their own events like cornhole tournaments or lemonade stands, provided they clearly state that proceeds support the Big Give project without offering tangible goods in direct exchange for donations. The campaign concludes with a check presentation on October 20th at the Vintage Venue, where nonprofits collect their awarded funds and celebrate the collective success of the community-driven fundraising effort.

otherwise I'll forget it. Um so again this year one of the things that we'll be doing um is Jessica with Production Creek is willing to work with all nonprofits again on merchandise. So that would be t-shirts. I think in the past the hospital is trying to take things that you guys have been collected. >> Yep. >> And a water bottle. So, um, something that is really awesome about the merchandise store with Jessica is that $10 of each item that sold is going back into your ears for what you're raising for your project this year. Um, so that's really awesome. So, I guess again, if you see her out in public too or something or when you go pick up those items, she'll let you know when they're ready to be picked up and to be divvied out. Um, but make sure you tell her another really big thank you. This is something she's done every year and it's been really awesome that she takes the time to do that and create that store. Um, so you'll see on the screen Shel's got it up. This will also be in your attachment and your follow-up email. So, anything we cover, I'll make sure that that's attached. Uh, all the designs and information in this little purple box here, you'll see that is her email address. Um, so the the designs um info needs to be sent to her by August 6th. I would encourage you to start doing that now and working with her now. If it's a t-shirt or whichever or you want to do a tote bag, ask her if that's a possibility. Um, so that it's not August 6 at 5:00 p.m., hey, can we do this as an item? Because I've highly encouraged her to say, sorry, now we're done. So, um just so that she has time to get these items because she uploads them on the website. Um and then that link will will go out uh so that people can can create a QR code and all things. Um that online store will open on August 13th, which again, August 13th is our magic date of when we can start raising funds. The reason we do that is because it's the same day as the kickoff. Um, of which I'll talk a little bit more about here in a bit. Um, but then that gives everybody kind of like that same starting time, same fair um fair timeline to start raising funds. So, if you are having, for instance, like a spaghetti feed or some kind of like dinner or something like that to raise funds, it needs to be done after August 13th. Um, so magic date, August 13th. Um, and then the store, online store will close on August 27th. that gives her enough time to get all those orders done, produced, and then to contact you so that you can get those out to your to your donors. Um, so if board members or anybody in your organization would like that chance to get some cool swag, it's another great way to raise money again towards your project. Any questions on that merchandise? So, the Big Give um shirts, are they just the Big Give Gage County shirt? You can put your own logo on it. >> It's your own um design. So, um >> Christy, I really like counted on you to have a Hope Cry shirt on today. >> Uh so, like we'll pop a big give one on there so people if they do want to order something, this is our design this year. So model [laughter] uh so this will be a big give t-shirt that can be generally ordered. Um, but this particular thing for like the organization store, it will say like your logo or your emblem or how whatever you want it to say so that the the donor is out wearing crisis center um the community hospital foundation or um whatever that that is. So that will be yours. My next question is so we have a street dance on we have a whole bunch of events on the 22nd of August. Can any of that be applied for that >> big game? >> The important thing is that it is specifically like you are advertising this specifically to your donors as these funds will go towards our big give project. Okay. So, Gage County Foundation, ours this year is again scholarship funds. Last year, we were able to raise over $4,000 and gave four students across the county and $1,000 a $1,000 scholarship for college. Um, so again, we'll do that same thing. So if we have an event um we do a scavenger hunt or uh anything you know [clears throat] like that then we would say you know on any material that you're putting out there you would put the big give you know emblem on there that this is going towards to support our big give project. So every donor that gave or participated in our scavenger hunt knows that money is going towards our scholarship funding for high school students in the future. So, um, yes, it just has to be specifically stated. I think someone did a concession stand or something like that one year and they had to make sure their signage said this is going towards our big give project. So, that way they know. >> Any other questions on that? I have a quick question on your $10 per shirt. So, the $10 just for the shirts. >> Um, it's for the merchandise across the board. Good question. Thank you for catching that. I'll try and update that on that flyer, too. And then I'll >> They designed their own bag. They designed their own blanket. Does that go to >> Yes. >> Yeah. Um, yeah. on my resource flyer. I didn't get that that updated. I worried so much about the dates. So, good catch you. Thank you. >> Any other >> something to think about with Production Creek is trying to incorporate your project into the item that you're promoting on their website. So, we did a blanket warmer a couple years ago, so blankets made sense. Um, but they do have a wide variety of merchandise that you can personalize. Um, so don't just assume it has to be a t-shirt. can do a lot of things with it. The more variety on the page, the production group stage, the more you'll stand out also. So, something to keep in mind. Um, okay. So, then we'll kind of move into important dates we talk about. So, August 13th is the big givea kickoff. This year there's um a little different twist and spin. Um Shelby who also sits on our committee had this great idea to try and get a little bit more community involvement and engagement. Um first it is mandatory. So you must have a representative of your organization at the kickoff. The reason I say that is because this is a wonderful networking opportunity. Um, I also individually I will uh send an invite and have a touch point with each sponsor to be there that day. The radio is there. Um, we try to get our sponsors on the radio. Dave shows up with Quebe. The live broadcast and then there's also once in a while a little bit, you know, time where I can grab a nonprofit to kind of sneak in, talk a little bit about their project, what they're raising funds for, um, and so forth. So, uh, that will this year it will be at Stone Hollow Brewing. Um, it will start 5:15 is we've kind of blocked off the street there, that little block off of Stone Hollow. Um, and at 5:15 there will be a food truck so you can grab yourself some food, feed the family that night. Um, and then so they'll start serving at 5, but 5:15 is my my kind of my suggested time if just after work to swing by. Um, the actual program will begin at 6:15. Uh, so I'm requesting that all nonprofits be there at least by six o'clock. Again, I recommend 5:15 if possible. So the more time, more networking time and opportunity. Um, but you must be checked in by 6. Since we're going to be in at 6:15, we'll kick it off. Um, I'll have a couple nonprofits. We'll just kind of randomly select. We'll talk about that as an opportunity in a moment. Um, but we'll randomly select where they can give like a five minute like impact story or, you know, what they give, how it's impacted their organization. Um the whole point of having it too at Stone Hollow uh is so that again we can get a little bit more uh maybe some of our younger donors and some of our external community. So, make sure you're really promoting this. Um, because the more we can get Big Give out there, the more people come to the website and see your organization, the more um people are aware that all of these funds stay engaged county. Um, that they're helping truly, you know, our citizens and community members. Um, this year we'll have a live dance. So, Lancaster County Line is coming down to perform. They'll start roughly around 6:30. Um, again, another enticement for community to come. It's free to the public. Nobody has to pay to come. Um, I'll have a couple like raffle baskets I'm working on putting together with maybe some gift cards and things. We'll do some fun drawings for that. Uh, and then it would likely conclude about 8:30. So, 6:30 to 8:30 is what the band is planning to perform time frame wise. Um, so any questions on kickoff? Again, this flyer will also be sent out um on the post follow-up email from today's meeting. So, make sure you're sharing that on your Facebook page. Um, make sure you're sending that out to your board members, your donors, so that they're all going to come, the more people and the more word of what's going on for Big Give. Uh, if there's no questions on that, we'll move forward into August 17th is National Nonprofit Day. So, the week of the 17th through the 21st. Last year, we did something new. We had some radio spots and stuff due to funding for like that marketing piece. Uh we won't do the radio spots that week. We will still do them the week before Big Give and I'll talk about those again. Um but this week instead what we'll really do is we will do some nonprofit spotlights. So the 17th and 21st we'll do three different postings. My plan is at 9:00 am noon and at 3 pm. So, if you would like a posting on Facebook, um, let me know. I need those emailed by the 10th. Again, I'll put that in our the email that goes out to everyone after this. Um, but by August 10th, I'll just need what you want your post to say, an image or if it's a video, if it's a link that way. Yes, Denise. So, um, she's dancing up there with >> with the, um, post that has the kickoff date and all those. Can we get a copy of that? So, we can just photocopy that, email that out with our >> for the kickoff letters. >> Yes. Yeah. I'm going to attach that to the email. Okay. >> So, um, that will be attached. The resource um, list that you have, that will be attached. Um, upcoming dates, I've got an updated timeline. I'll make sure that gets attached for you as well so you can utilize any of that. You'll see it posted on our Facebook page. I will start really advertising and honing in on that now. Um so again, so Facebook Big Give Gage does have a Facebook page. So make sure you go on there, you follow it because anytime there's a post, um I'll start really scheduling a lot more posts as we're leading up. then you can also utilize those to share um to your page too um and share out to then your donors see that. Um so again, August 10th is kind of the magic date to get me what you want that post to say. It'll be kind of first come first serve as they roll in. So the sooner you can get that together and email to me, the better because I'll schedule those posts out. Um, we'll do three a day Monday through Friday that week. So, make sure you watch for that. So, you can also share your post to out to your donors on your Facebook page. Um, we talked about pregs on September 3rd through the 9th at 11:59 p.m. Again, big give day is September 10th this year. Um, fundraising can start again on August 13th. Um Renza will do another dine out night. I'm working with them to get a calendar or a date on their calendar. Uh all the funds so that the 10 I believe it's 10% of their profits that night they give back to the bonus pool of funds. Um we'll talk about that here. So sponsorship opportunities. So, what what I do with the foundation is I go out to businesses um across Gage County and there's different levels they can sponsor at. Um this the cool thing about these sponsor funds is they are not writing a check for $250 or $2,500 to pay for any like advertising costs or anything. that money goes back into a pool of funds that is then at the end divied out to all of you. So, and that is based on what you raise to the overall total of big give. Um, and then that's the percentage of those funds that's additional at the end um for your project. Um, so it is not dollar for-dollar match or anything like that. Again, it's just a percentage that goes. So if you do know, you know, businesses that are like, well, you know, I love 40 of the 84, you know, nonprofits or whichever, and they want more information. I would be happy to talk to them. Um, they get advertising several different ways as well, but again, then they know that their money is going to all organizations. So, the Renza Dine Out Night, those proceeds go to everybody. So, the more you share any of those events that pop up, um the better because it's just more money in your guys's pockets or your organizations funds. Um talking about the runs of dine out. Scooters is doing something a little bit new this year. Um Katie and I have met. Um she will be giving out their like little punch cards. Um, so every time someone comes through the drive-thru, they get a punch. Once they've filled that up and turned that card in, she's giving $5 per card back to that support them all funds. Um, I feel like Katie is a pretty good steward of a lot of us like nonprofits. She's always super awesome at supporting in any way, in any capacity that she can. Um, this year she just chose to give back to everybody. So, she feels like she's supporting every single organization. Um, on the cards, I did notice that it says partner name here. I don't know if she caught that before, but u visit five times and $5 will be donated to all of the organization. So, when I advertise that, I'll make sure to also state that it will go back to that support them all fund. So, make sure you support our local scooters. Give her all the love because she's super awesome. Um, she'll be the one handing those out though as we get closer to, so make sure she knows by August 13th. Um, the in-person give site, we'll do that again at Vintage Venue this year on September 10th. Um, there is a limit for booths that day. It is always like a kind of an in-person nonprofit fair. you have the opportunity to sign up, have a table there at Vintage Venue um for the day of giving. We do the giving 7 am to 7 pm, but the um all the booths are set up at 8:00 a.m. So, you can be there at 7:30 to set up your table. It is limited to only 30 spots. So, first come, first serve. Make sure you sign up. Send me an email. So, um you can send me an email at my director email. uh in order to sign up for that booth. I don't have a specific cuto off because again, if you get back to your office today and you're like, I know I want a booth right now. Shoot me that email right away. Okay. Whispering Acres wants a booth. I've got her checked down. She's now there's 29 spots available. Will not have a walk in that day and have a spot because it's really hard to shuffle tables around. So um and make sure that you get email confirmation from me. I have noticed sometimes you know things do go to the spam box and you don't always you know know that. So um been about 24 to 48 hours if you have not heard anything back from me saying thank you I've got you signed up. Please email me again or call me and make sure um that you have that spot. Um that same day from 5 to 7 PM I have confirmation from Griffith Hubendic Chapel that they will be again doing the drawing um for the additional amount. So every half hour we draw for an additional $100. Um it's just a random wheel. It's really fun. Five to seven when we really kind of take that time that day. We encourage everybody to come hang out. um have a drink if that's what you would so choose to do and just really kind of celebrate um watching that total continue to grow. It's really fun. Um we'll do some live spotlights out of that. Um so 5 to 7 uh booths will end at 5 so you can kind of clean up your booth, pack up if you want to take it back to the office and then come back and hang out. Um, I think if everybody knows me by now, I'm very social, so I just love to, you know, hang out with all of you. So, just come hang out that day. Um, in the past, we've mailed postcards. Last year, we started if you would like a postcard to mail and you just want like the general big give, I'm more than happy to get that design updated and have it ready to go at Arbor, Inc., that's who I use for um our printed materials. Um, if you have your own specific one you want to, you know, update and do to send to her, um, Darcy and her team are really great there. Um, great qual quality products and I think she's really well priced. If you want to order those, it's at your cost to do so. Um, but I am still continuing to work on a social media toolkit. Again, that's in your resources page on the website. So, you can pull some graphics and images from there. Any of the big gift logos to post on your Facebook pages or to put them on your postcards. If something's not working from the website, let me know. Just email me directly. I'll get that released to you. Uh again, like and follow the Facebook page. Um, it's really cool to see that we have donors from I think Australia. We have donors in Europe. Um, it's really cool see how far our reach goes for Big Give. Um, so the more we post, the more we talk about it, the more exciting it be. Yard signs are ready to go. Um, I do have yard signs here. If you are on the Zoom and need a yard sign, reach out to me. I will make sure that those are available even if I'm not in my office to pick up. Um done several different things for people to be able to get their signs. Uh but we'll get you those. We always say after August 13th, get them out in your yards. if you have a friend. Um I give we do two per um organization or we try to do about two per organization. Um so just throw them out there people can see. It's kind of nice to see especially when you're driving through Portland or you know any of the other towns that you start seeing those big gift signs pop up. It's really kind of neat to see. Sponsors also get a sign for their business that says sponsor on the side of it. Um so that's really cool. Um, can you think of anything else after August 13th? Yeah. Yeah. That way they don't get like w warp or washed or anything like that. Um, yeah. This is why I have Shelby. Shel is like my second brain. It's really great. Um, so there is also attached to the email, but I've got a couple in person today. These are the um big give donation pre-give forms for organizations to fill out. Um if I go to Jill and say here's my check for Whispering Acres as a donor, she's going to she is going to then fill out she's going to put the date, the name, the address. This is all the donor information, their email address if possible. get that because again that only helps you too um to have that information for your donors to send out. um if it's cash, write the, you know, the amount of cash, check number, all of that. And then the total um check should be made payable to Big Give Gage. Um or it should have and it should have your organization in the memo line. So in case they would get separated from the form, it does happen. Um see a lot of checks um during this time. Just make sure again big give gauge is who they'll write it to and then your organization in the memo line. Um so you'll fill out all of this. So you have a spaghetti feed. Everybody's writing you checks. You're going to fill all of this out. You're going to put in the amount of cash and then fold it up. Put it in an envelope. The day of give. You're going to bring that to to me. Um, I don't want to I don't like to get those beforehand just because we are all human. I just would hate for anything to get misplaced or shuffled or anything like that. Um, so I just recommend you keep a hold of those. Day of giving, come see me 7:01 a.m. Awesome. [laughter] I'll see you at 7:01 a.m. at Vintage Venue with that. Um, and then we have a lot of volunteers that show up that day and give their time for those donations in. So they might not be instantaneous like when someone goes online and does it but they will get entered in. So you'll be able to see those in your total those sheets. >> Yes, >> in Lymore there will be a in-person um giving location from 7:30 to 2 at the Heritage Inn. So, if you have somebody that doesn't want to drive a beatatric to give in person, feel free to have them come if they're in the southern part of the county, have them come to Wymore and um the G County Foundation will have somebody there that can help them with their donation on that end. >> Great reminder. That's why I can't fire you from the board any Jerry makes a good point. So, this year, one of the new things too that we're going to do is we're going to be in the surrounding communities. So, um, Wymore, they've kind of always had like a location. Last year is when we really, you know, highlighted it a little bit more. Um, but like in Portland, Adams, Odell, there will be location sites so that if there are donors in that area, they can bring their check there. We will make sure they get entered in. We'll make sure those volunteers at those sites. Um, my goal is to do um like a 10 to two. Now, Wymore will have theirs open longer. Um, that must mean that Jared has that staffed already and taken care of for me, so [laughter] he's already on top of it. Um, but the other places I would like to try and get maybe like a food truck for that location or something um to entice some donors. Yeah, a coffee truck, something. So, I'll be working with those locations or those areas to getting a a site secured and making sure there's um volunteers there. Um the day of giving, we do food trucks out at um Vintage Venue. If you're on your lunch break, come grab something to eat. Um those kind of range from I usually have like a coffee truck in the morning to you've got food during the day. They give 10% of their profits made that day back to support them all. So that's really cool. So make sure you come grab your lunch that day. Tell your donors to come eat lunch at Vintage Venue and the different food trucks. As I get those secured, we'll start seeing those kind of posted too. >> Okay. So, the Saturday farmers market the week um before it's that Saturday at 4, which I believe would be like the fifth fifth. Okay. Um so, I'll send out an email with more information. She'll provide Terry Maza um with Food for Hope. We'll provide info on how to sign up. You'll sign up directly with her. I won't be the the middleman on that. I'll make sure when that email goes out that it has her contact information so you can send her an email. um she has people come and set up a booth. So if you want to get out there in the community and set up a booth for um your organization, that's that's also another opportunity to um >> the farmers market Saturday the 6 are open. >> Yeah, but that's going to be a new one too. So her local PLA or the local flua that they put on on that Sunday too. We'll also open that up. So, I'll send that information out. Um, since we're talking about events and opportunities, another good thing to mention is if you do have an event um that you're hosting, a cornhole tournament, um, sand volleyball tournament, whatever it is that you're doing, send me an email um, two weeks before and I'll schedule a post on Facebook to make sure that it's out there so people can also see that. Um, and then you can share from there or whichever or if it's just whatever you have formulated or together. If it's just a flyer, you've got a quick little, hey, join us. I'll make sure that gets out. Just I just ask that you give me at least two weeks of the information so I can get it posted and scheduled on Facebook. Um, that gives me a little bit of time to get it out there. Um, so we'll make sure we talk about events and all those kind of fun things. Um, do you have an event and information that you want to hand out to people at the kickoff or something? You have like a little postcard or something you want to hand donors or, you know, I think that's that's awesome, too. Again, it's a networking opportunity. Um, talk about incentive prizes quick. We talk about networking. Um, one of the really cool things that I have heard a lot more um, and even more in the last two years is how uh, organizations didn't realize what maybe another organization offered and did. So, if they had um someone, I don't know, clients or someone that benefits from your organization, maybe they need lodging or something for whatever their situation is, um but you can't provide that, there might be another organization you can partner with. So, it's really cool to see the different relationships that have cultivated through all of this, through all of our nonprofits and keeping everyone connected. I feel like our nonprofits do a really good job bridging the gap of you know whether that's mental health or you know animal care or those types of things. So um on the incentives and prizes so one of those is a collaboration award. I have 150 here but that's because the total is 300. So be split between the two organizations. Um, so that would be awarded to nonprofits that would work together um on joint promotion, whether that's a video event, campaign, um, any of that. And then if that's something you're doing, let me know. Hand partnering with soand so, we're going to do this so that I can get you in that random drawing. Um, again, I think that just helps to cultivate and encourage more relationships um, amongst one another. Um, our community support award is those nonprofits that demonstrate um, exceptional community engagement, volunteer involvement, um, and promotion of Big Give. That's even just as simple as hash biggive gage, you know, on Facebook or Instagram or making a Tik Tok. I'm not super great at that, but if that, you know, anything like that that would incorporate big give, um, we'll be, you know, watching that and I try to catch those myself, but if you let me know also, make sure you also are in that drawing, too. Um, the kickoff powerup award that is for the kickoff night. um that's organizations that you know are there and have representatives that would be like as your staff or board members. It would have to be one of those that show up and you would just say when you check in just say you know I'm so and so with this organization. This is who I'm representing. Um the more representation you have, the more times your name goes on that random drawing list. um again to encourage more people to show up to the kickoff and that's $150. These awards are added after the um support them all percentage. So these those don't go in to that big total. Um and then there's the Doyle Legacy Award. That's something that Terry and Ella Doyle do every year. They have um split it between two. they've given it to just one and that's just really uh Terry Doyle is very like this is something very near and dear to his heart. He really loves Big Give. He loves seeing the encouragement through the uh nonprofit organizations. He likes seeing it through the community. So one thing that you know he looks at is he looks at like or him and Ella kind of look at the fundraising efforts. the more you know collaboration and uh the more kind of that you know you're putting into big give um then they sit and they kind of look at that and then determine that and that's separately awarded when we do the check presentation which is something I need to add to the timeline because I have a date uh I will send this out in the email too thinking about it. So, within 30 days of Big Give Day, we always do our check presentation that again is at Vintage Venue. Um, that will be on October 20th. And as we get closer, I will make sure everybody knows the date, the time, all of that. Um, we usually do some live my appetizers and you show up about an hour long. Everybody, every nonprofit is expected to have at least one representation or rent representative show up and collect that check. Um, don't want to chase people with their money to [clears throat] pick it up. Um, for some reason, obviously, if there is a freak accident, you you cannot make it. We I understand life does happen. Uh, but we all have boards, right? So we all have somebody at least that can show up. Um so October 20th is when that check presentation will happen. Um another thing I guess if just as everybody to remember again I am only one person. I do have a great committee uh that works to make sure big give is out there and that it's uh supporting all of you. Uh, but give me a little bit of time. If you do need something, can you email me? Just give me a day or two. I will do my absolute best to respond as soon as I can. We need a meet to go over some more things in the website. I'm really happy to sit down and do that. Um, uploading graphics, whatever that is. If you need help, just give me a little bit of time. Please don't wait until August 13 at 8 am to message me because then I might tell you that I need a huge gift card from scooters in order to talk to you. >> I will not entertain it at all. So I will not entertain it at all actually. So please just communicate with me. I will always do my best to communicate with you about events um and things going out. We're here to support you in any way, shape, or form that may be. Um the whole point is really, you know, there's a lot of organizations that don't have the opportunity to maybe fundra as much during the year. So Big Give exists to give that promotional, you know, moment that or that timing that uh kind of letting everybody know what organizations do exist within our communities. Um and all the hard work, let's be honest, it is like kind of like a thankless job, right? It's it's not easy to do the work that we all do in our communities and it's not always recognized. So, make sure when you guys wake up, look at yourselves in the mirror. I hope that you do that at some point. Uh tell yourselves what a great job you're doing um in our community because truly Gage County, I think, is successful and is amazing because all of us are here to help support our community members. um I will promote, I will advertise, uh we will make sure that Big Give is out there, but whatever you put into it is what you're going to get out of it. Um so, usually when I hear I don't think it really benefited me last year, usually that means that you weren't out there hosting an event, you weren't out there talking to your donors. um if you need, you know, marketing help or anything like that. I've had an organization or two, a couple people say, you know, they're willing to give their time to kind of help too, um to give ideas. So, you're only going to benefit as much as [clears throat] your organization kind of to it. >> I have a question. So, we can't start advertising till after August 13th, correct? You can start talking about big give, advertising that you're a part of it, sending things out. We just cannot start collecting donations. >> Okay. >> Checks until Sorry. >> No, I was just wondering. So, if we had a booth, if they faired this, we could have a fly to say the big >> Absolutely. Yes. Big Give is happening again. You know, this is what we're doing. Yes. Absolutely. um we're just not like actively fundraising, taking checks. And again, that is purely a merit, you know, kind of a system. That's an honor system. I'm just really trusting and hoping that everybody is doing that respectfully and honestly. Um can't please everyone. So, I just feel that we still live in somewhat of a world where a handshake means something and our word goes a long ways. So um if for some reason that there is wind caught that that is what happens and you are not doing those things then that does jeopardize you ever being able to participate again. >> Yes. >> What is the date where last date we can make changes to our >> um August 10th I believe is what I have on there is August 10th. That way then they're really live because really starting August 13th, you really that's when you start seeing between then and September 10th, you'll probably get tired of my voice on the radio. Um you'll probably get tired of seeing my face maybe in the I'll do my best to make it look somewhat presentable so you guys don't have to see a painful picture. >> Yes. Yes. So in the past we have offered a raffle to our donors. Are we still allowed to do that or no? that really teeters kind of that fine line of giving a gift, right? Um I know that you guys always do show if you do a lemonade stand. You've never taken a donation, you know, for that. It's just simply here's some lemonade. Your booth is inside. Um just another touch point to, you know, community of what you're doing. I know that you've done like popcorn and stuff, so that has all been just fine. As long as you're not saying, Chrissy, if you give me $100, I'm going to give you five bags of popcorn. Okay. That's where we start to kind of cross that you're getting a tangible item for the donation if they give. So, um I would say not to do that, but if you have, you know, functional items or something, you know, the day of I, you know, pins, people like to pick up pins and all those types of things, like that's not encouraging them. Give me $10, I'll give you a pen kind of a thing. Um, >> bring [laughter] And when did you say we could put signs out? >> Um, I always just say like after the kickoff just because, you know, Nebraska weather, we might have a snowstorm tomorrow. We don't even know. [laughter] >> I'm not sure. >> Um, just because of the weather, the sun, you know, those kind of fun things. Just helps to keep the signs a little bit nicer. >> Longer. We've got a little bit of time. If there's any questions for um me or day of um on the resource list, you'll see the radio. Um Dave with Quebey have got his email address on there. Um Aaron Jones, they have a community calendar. So if you want to post your event on the community calendar through them, uh she would be who you would contact. Um so Erin, she's got her phone number there. I'll try and add I'll ask her by um for her email to add that on there too. Dave's email with PV is on there so you can reach out to him and say, "Hey, do you have a morning spot open? I can get on and talk about, you know, what we're doing the week before we do radio spots in the morning. Um those are kind of run on first come first serve but also to those that you know have been maybe there every year. We try to get some new nonprofits cycled through too. Um as I start talking to like Rotary and Serma and different like clubs in the area. Sometimes I'll randomly ask and see if a nonprofit wants to come along with me and kind of talk about their impact for Big Give. Um, so there's lots of different opportunities or if you have donors that have more questions my info I'll be happy to explain big give as the best I can. Um, I think that's it. Well, there is not any more questions or anything. Um, we'll kind of conclude. Is there any on the Zoom? answer. You answered. Okay. Um, as you go, make sure you grab a sign and a steak with a sign. Please don't leave the steak behind. I always have extra and they're terrible at the store in my office. Kind of like And if there's not enough time Well, That's coming.
