Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video features a detailed grocery haul from the speaker's local Fry's store, which operates as part of the Kroger chain, focusing on stocking up for weight loss while tracking Weight Watchers points. Taking advantage of senior discount days and various digital coupons, the total cost for the week was brought down to $153. The shopping trip prioritizes convenience and quick meal preparation, essential given the speaker's busy work schedule and an upcoming boot camp event. Key items purchased include two gallons of Troy Zero calorie tea stored in a garage fridge due to the hot weather, along with dairy products like 1% milk for her partner, cottage cheese varieties including Good Culture when available or Daisy reduced fat as a substitute, and both regular and lower-fat cream cheeses depending on stock availability.
A significant portion of the haul is dedicated to snacks and easy-to-prepare meals that save time during long work weeks. The speaker selected fish sticks for quick dinners, Oscar Mayer lunch meats like uncured smoked ham, turkey, and roast beef for sandwiches, and a variety of Yasso frozen yogurt bars as a healthier ice cream alternative. She also stocked up on chips, including party-size Lays in cheddar sour cream and onion flavors, along with specific snacks like apple turnovers and mini cookies to satisfy sweet cravings without excessive effort. Additionally, she purchased salad kits from Taylor Farms featuring options like green goddess dressing and chicken Caesar, as well as rotisserie chickens intended for quick lunches or dinners served over sunflower crunch salads.
Beyond immediate consumption needs, the speaker bought ingredients specifically for her weekly meal prep menu, which includes blueberry lemon cottage cheese muffins for breakfast, barbecue chicken English muffin pizzas for lunch, and no-bake lime cheesecake bars to combat the summer heat. She acquired ground beef for spaghetti and sloppy joes, rotini pasta with mozzarella pearls for a quick salad, Italian seasoning mixes, and fresh produce such as bananas, red onions, lemons for homemade curd, grapes on sale, and watermelon. The shopping list also included baking supplies like graham crackers, English muffins, frozen blueberries since fresh ones were unavailable at the store, and specific recipes in mind like a chicken pot pie biscuit slow cooker dish planned for Wednesday's content.
Throughout the video, the speaker emphasizes practical tips such as avoiding Kroger brand half-and-half due to carrageenan additives found in it, opting instead for organic versions despite the slight price increase. She highlights strategies for reducing waste and saving time by buying pre-portioned items like mini pepperoni and mozzarella pearls rather than chopping ingredients manually. Despite some store shortages of preferred brands or fresh fruits, she adapted her list to include frozen alternatives and whatever was on sale, ensuring that every item serves a specific purpose in maintaining a balanced diet while managing a hectic lifestyle. The haul concludes with excitement for the upcoming recipes and meal prep sessions that will be demonstrated in future videos.

>> So, here is my grocery haul for the week
from my local Fry's store, which is a
Kroger store. First Wednesday of every
month is senior discount day. For some
reason, I get the senior discount. Some
lady there loaded on my card a couple of
years ago. So, my total with discounts
is $153.
I did get two gallons of Troy zero
calorie tea. That's all they had, so I
picked up both gallons. One's in the
garage fridge. I did get a gallon of 1%
milk for him.
Fish sticks because quick and easy meal.
I work a lot with bomb parties, so I
need things that Troy can just make
quick and easy. So, I went ahead and got
those. These are one of my favorites,
these Knudsen cottage cheese doubles.
Love them. They're it's a good way to
get in protein.
I love cottage cheese with fruit. So, I
got one peach, one strawberry, and one
pineapple. They were three for $4. And
then, of course, my little snack packs.
I got one of the apple, pretzel, and
cheese. And then, two I ate one of these
on the way home from boot camp from the
grocery store. This is apples, little
crackers, and fruit snack. These are
just really easy, quick, simple snacks.
Yasso bars were on digital coupon for
$3.99,
which is really good, and we love these.
So, I got a cookies and cream, two of
the vanilla chocolate crunch, a
chocolate chip cookie dough, and a sea
salt sea salt sea salt sea salt caramel.
Troy loves those. Just a healthier
alternative to ice cream, and it's hot
here. It's still over 100°, so perfect.
For lunch meat, I grabbed a bunch
because the Oscar Mayer was on sale for
$3.49 a pack. So, I got the uncured
smoked ham. I got myself some turkey,
and then some roast beef for Troy.
Quick, easy sandwiches. Kroger brand
cheese was $1.49
per package this week again on a digital
coupon. So, I got some reduced fat
Mexican blend, marble cheddar, and then
for sandwiches I got Colby Jack and
extra sharp cheddar. I needed graham
crackers for my meal prep. After the
grocery haul, I'll tell you what's on my
menu for dinner as well as meal prep. I
also got some cottage cheese for my meal
prep and then just to eat. I really
wanted the good culture, but they didn't
have it. So, I went got the Daisy
reduced fat. I'm completely out of
baking soda, so I got a restock. Cream
cheese for my meal prep. I was looking
for the lower fat one, but they didn't
have it. So, I went ahead and just got
regular cream cheese. My Fry's store was
out of random weird things like
blueberries
and low-fat cream cheese. So, regular
cream cheese it is.
I need some chicken broth for a dinner
recipe. Also some half and half. Fun
fact, don't buy the Kroger brand
of half and half because it has
carrageenan. So, for a dollar more I
could get the organic without it. So, I
grabbed that. I also got the Country
Crock heavy whipping cream. Same rule as
the half and half. The Kroger brand has
carrageenan. So, for a dollar more
again, a name brand no carrageenan.
I needed some big hunkin jumbo biscuit
for a dinner recipe.
The party size Lays were $3.99. No,
$3.49 a bag on digital coupons. It's a
really good deal. And we like to have
chips with sandwiches. And then I have a
boot camp girls thing coming up. I'm
going to take one of the bags for that.
So, I got the cheddar sour cream and
then some sour cream and onion.
I also got these white cheddar harvest
snaps. I haven't had these in years, and
I thought they would be great when I'm
live for bomb party. I like to have just
a quick kind of crunchy snack that I can
eat while I'm live. So, I'm going to try
those out again. Like I said, it has
been years since I've had them. The
California Kitchen pizzas were on
digital coupon for $3. Oh, no, I'm
sorry, $6.99.
I wish $3.99. $6.99. So, I got a
Sicilian recipe crispy thin crust and a
signature uncured pepperoni. And again,
great for Troy. Great for him to throw
in the oven while I'm working. I needed
English muffins for my meal prep. And
then, since they didn't have fresh
blueberries, I got frozen. My meal prep
actually said you could do fresh or
frozen. So, frozen it is. I thought that
was the strangest thing that they didn't
have any fresh blueberries. All they had
was the blueberry raspberry blackberry
pack, which wouldn't have given me
enough. So, frozen blueberries it is.
And then, for produce of the week, I got
bananas, of course, a red onion for a
recipe and sandwiches, lemons and limes
for my meal prep. I decided to do grapes
because we love grapes. And these were
on sale for $2.49 a pound. And then, of
course, a watermelon for the week, Troy
and Palmer's favorite. I also picked up
six eight-packs of Gatorade Zero. They
were buy three, get three free. That is
a fantastic deal. Those are in the
garage fridge along with that other
gallon of tea. So, that is everything
for the week. Again, my total was $153.
So, here is my grocery haul for this
week from my local Fry's store, which is
a Kroger store. This is everything I
need for the week, especially because I
didn't do my meal prep last week. So, I
have all the ingredients still. But, I
needed to stock up on quite a few
things. First step, I got a gallon of
milk for Troy for the week. It is my
boot camp girls night yesterday. So,
you're going to see this on Saturday, so
Friday. And I am making my trifle. They
love my trifle. So, I needed a
strawberry cake mix.
I'm also making Troy's favorite pasta
salad. And so, I need all the
ingredients for that. It is an Italian
pasta salad. So, Italian seasoning mix.
He asked for ice cream sandwiches. So, I
grabbed some of those. For the pasta
salad, we used the little mozzarella
pearls. This makes it so much easier
than having to cut up cheese myself.
It's all about making it easier and less
time-consuming. Same reason I buy mini
pepperoni. Instead of chopping up
pepperoni, I buy the mini. And then I
got some regular as well because I found
a couple of pizzas reduced. And this
will be a really good lunch for Troy
while I'm working this week. A pepperoni
and then I also got a cheese and I
figured we could use the pepperoni on
that and any veggies that we want to add
and we can even spice this one up with a
little more pepperoni. But $4 for that
one, $3.60 for that one. Some rotini
pasta for the pasta salad. And then I
needed regular whipped cream, the big
tub, for the trifle. I know you can make
your own whipped cream. I'm not
interested. I'm just going to buy this.
It's done and easy and I am working all
week, so I have to make time to to make
the trifle. So, that's going to make it
a little bit easier. I also needed some
sliced olives for the pasta salad.
I did get a loaf of bread. I desperately
need a Costco run and my hope is to do
the that this next week. So, I went
ahead and just got one loaf of bread for
Troy. That'll tie us over. I'd much
rather buy the Dave's Killer Bread at
Costco. I bought some tortilla chips
because I bought our favorite
seven-layer dip. I am working so much
this week that it is about being
convenient and the chips and the
seven-layer dip is a really, really easy
snack. And then Italian dressing for the
pasta salad. Of course, some goodies for
the week. I got these little apple
turnover things. They were $1.80 and
y'all know I love a mini cookie because
I can eat one, satisfies the sweet
tooth, and that was $2.80.
I got a big pack of ground beef. This is
just 80/20. I use this for Troy when I
make spaghetti and sloppy joes and
things for him and it was down to $9.59,
which is a really good deal. I just
throw it in the freezer if I'm not going
to use it right away. I also asked for
cereal, so I got the Kashi Go protein
and fiber mixed berry crunch and some
Cheerios.
I thought this would be nice to use this
week. It is already pre-cooked, ready to
go rotisserie chicken and I'll show you
what I bought to put this on and also
it'd be a really quick snack. You can
just It's already cooked, so you can
just pull it out of here and eat it. So,
I'm going to try that out. I've never
bought that brand before.
Here is the seven-layer dip for the
tortilla chips, my favorite thing. I
love it. It's beans and cheese and sour
cream, super, super good. And then I did
get some cottage cheese. Oh, oh, oh,
there we go. Some good culture just for
snacks for the week. I love cottage
cheese. It's a great extra protein side.
Speaking of convenience, I saw these
salad kits, pasta and salad. This one's
pasta, which is interesting. 22 g of
protein. And I'm going to try these.
These are from Taylor Farms. They were
reduced to $1.57.
And then this is a Southwestern one.
That's a green goddess. And then this is
a chicken Caesar.
Quick and easy and that's what I need
this week. So, they were reduced. I'm
going to try them out. And then I did
get some summer sausage. That is for
Troy's pasta salad.
For produce, strawberries for the
trifle. And then I got this salad kit,
this sunflower crunch. That's what I'm
going to put the rotisserie chicken on
and I think that'll be a really quick,
easy meal. A green pepper for the pasta
salad. Bananas, of course, for Troy for
the week. Lemons for my trifle. I make
homemade lemon curd, so I got some
lemons to make the curd. And then cherry
tomatoes also go in the pasta salad. And
I did buy two gallons of Troy's zero
calorie tea. It is in the garage fridge.
So, that is everything that I picked up
for this week. So, here's what's on my
menu for the week. I'm making a chicken
pot pie biscuit slow cooker recipe. You
will see that in Wednesday's what I eat
in a day. And then for my meal prep for
breakfast, I'm doing blueberry lemon
cottage cheese muffins. The original
recipe is little bites, but I'm actually
going to make muffins. And then for
lunch, I'm doing barbecue chicken
English muffin pizzas. So excited for
that. And then because it's hot, we're
doing a no-bake lime cheesecake bars. So
this is like a key lime no-bake pie. I'm
very excited for that. So you'll see all
three recipes in Tuesday's meal prep.
