Video summary
Ahmed Don shares his journey from using a cheap dollar store knife that required excessive force to finding the ideal everyday tool with the Victorinox Classic Swiss Knife. For over a decade, he relied on an inexpensive blade under five dollars for all tasks involving beef, chicken, and fruit, but eventually sought a significant upgrade in sharpness and ease of use. Upon discovering the Victorinox set, he was immediately impressed by its construction from high carbon steel and a handle that feels substantial despite being made of plastic, marking a clear improvement over his previous budget options.
The review highlights the specific benefits of the two-blade configuration included in this minimalistic set. The larger 4.5-inch serrated knife excels at cutting through tougher items like chicken and beef while smoothly slicing fruits by biting into them without slipping. Paired with it is a smaller utility blade measuring about 3 inches, which is perfect for precise tasks such as peeling small apples or bananas, though Ahmed notes that the larger serrated edge can also handle these jobs if needed, making the combination versatile enough to cover almost any kitchen requirement.
Beyond its cutting performance and sharpness, Ahmed expresses particular satisfaction with the fact that this product is manufactured in Switzerland rather than China, which he finds surprising given how many other goods are produced overseas. He considers this origin point a significant quality indicator alongside the overall durability of the high carbon steel blades. For those seeking a minimal setup without sacrificing quality or variety, these two knives represent one of the best options currently available on the market for everyday kitchen use.
In terms of value and pricing, Ahmed estimates that purchasing both knives in their box typically costs between 20 to 30 Canadian dollars, depending on sales and retailers. He concludes that despite the modest price point, this set stands out as one of the best knives he has ever owned, offering a perfect balance of minimalism and high performance. His final recommendation is clear: if you want a reliable tool that does everything well without cluttering your kitchen with too many blades, these Victorinox Classic Swiss Knives are an excellent choice that leaves nothing to complain about.

Victorinox Classic Swiss knife review.
Hello everyone, this is Ahmed Don. So,
what happened? For more than 10 years or
so, I have been using a dollar shop type
of knife or I forgot where I bought it
from, but you know, from could be from
other another cheaper store. And it was
like even lesser than $5. I don't
remember exactly how much. And it just
worked. I'm a kind of one knife person.
I use one knife for everything, uh beef,
chicken, fruits, uh tablets or anything.
So, it just worked, but it needed extra
force and not enough sharp. So, I wanted
to upgrade to the next level or I'd say
like, you know, the best knife possible.
And then, I came across the Victorinox
Classic knife. So, this set has
two knives, one serrated. This is like,
you know, 4 and 1/2 inch. And this one
is like, you know, utility knife, which
is like
3 and 1/4 inch.
And they're made of high steel carbon
fiber, uh high carbon steel, sorry, high
carbon steel. And then,
uh the this is like, you know, I think
it's plastic, but feels very good in
hand. So,
I can see the difference right away.
Now, I can cut like, you know, chicken,
beef, fruits with the serrated one, and
the serration does the job. It's kind of
bites into the
uh fruits or chicken or beef and cuts
very smoothly, and it's really sharp.
And this one is like, you know, I can
cut like, you know, tablet or a small
apple or banana with this one, and it
works. Now, I also
use this one cutting beef and chicken,
still it works, but it's just a little
bit small. But, you cannot go wrong
cutting everything with this. So, if you
are looking for something minimal, but
high quality, these uh two are I'd say
like, you know, the best on the market
or one of the best on the best on the
available on the market. And then, it
would do everything like, you know, all
job if you like to keep things minimal
and don't want too much knife. But, if
you want like, you know, know bigger
size or a variety, they also have that.
Uh this is a
Victorinox brand and their stuff is made
in uh Switzerland. So, I was kind of
surprised that, you know, because
whatever you buy,
most likely it's going to be made in
China. So, that part I really like that,
you know, the stuff is really made in
Switzerland. So,
I'm happy with the product, cannot
complain about anything. And in terms of
pricing, I saw they're going from like
uh when you buy the two in a
you know, one box, you are looking at
probably like 20 to 30 dollars Canadian
at depending on when you're buying or if
it's on sale or what retailer, but
expect to pay about 20 to 30 Canadians.
And these are one of the best knives I
have had. So, thank you for watching and
I'll see you in the next video.
