Video summary
The primary objective of this lesson is to teach practitioners how to direct Qi energy upward through their body's chakras rather than allowing it to dissipate downward due to gravity. Normally, when one relaxes or exhales, energy naturally flows down, but to reverse this flow, the instructor introduces a technique involving specific muscular contractions. The process begins by visualizing the body as a tube of water that needs to be squeezed from the bottom up; consequently, the practitioner starts by contracting the perineum, the area between the genitals and anus. This initial squeeze acts as the foundation for a chain reaction that travels upward through the core, solar plexus, chest, neck, jaw, and eyes, effectively pumping energy against the natural downward pull of gravity.
To execute this upward movement effectively, the technique is integrated with reverse breathing, where the stomach contracts inward during inhalation rather than expanding outward. The practitioner inhales while simultaneously squeezing the perineum and engaging the core muscles, which creates a surge of momentum that lifts the energy from the lower body up through the spine. For those seeking to accelerate this process or wake up their system more intensely, the instructor suggests using a sharp gasping breath, similar to the involuntary reaction to seeing something shocking. This explosive combination of a gasp and simultaneous muscle contraction generates significant upward force, which can eventually build heat in the lower abdomen as Qi energy is activated and circulated vigorously through the body's energy centers.
Once the energetic momentum is established, the practice can be performed in either an explosive or a gentler manner depending on the practitioner's needs and comfort level. In the more intense version, the gasping breath drives a powerful surge of energy that creates an internal sensation akin to a small engine running within the Dan Tian, often visualized as a ball rolling back and forth at the base of the spine before moving upward. Alternatively, for a softer approach, one simply inhales while gently squeezing and relaxing without the forceful gasp, allowing the practitioner to feel the subtle movement of the energy ball traveling up the tailbone and through the front of the body. Ultimately, this method relies on the coordinated contraction of specific muscles and controlled breathing to create the necessary pressure and momentum to shift Qi flow from a downward trajectory to an ascending one, preparing the body for further advanced connection techniques in subsequent lessons.

welcome so in this lesson i'm going to
teach you how to
move your qi energy up your body rather
than have it go down
so when it goes down you just relax
and your energy naturally goes down you
relax
naturally these things because of
gravity
okay when you breathe out your energy
just naturally goes down
now when you want to go up opposite you
want to actually
contract imagine you're like a tube of
like a popsicle tube and you want to
squeeze
the energy up it's kind of like what you
are you're like uh
you're like a tube of energy tube of
water and you want to have
squeeze the water so that it squirts up
to the top so what you want to do is
actually squeeze
your perineum okay that's the beginning
so berinium
is between the pea and the poo okay so
between the pee and the poo is your
perineum so just squeeze
that part people use the kegel exercises
the same thing okay
so just squeeze that part you can't see
me do it
okay but just squeeze it okay
and as you squeeze it you want to make a
chain reaction squeeze
so you squeeze your perineum then you
squeeze
your core then you squeeze your solar
plexus
then you squeeze your chest then you
squeeze
your neck you squeeze your jaw
like this and they squeeze your eyes
okay so it's kind of like the opposite
of
what qigong tells you to do which is to
relax but the key
is not to squeeze so hard that it's like
gives you tension this
it's just a slight squeeze okay i'm just
exaggerating it so you kind of
see what's happening okay so it's a
slight squeeze
and you're standing what helps is you
actually kind of like
put your knees together so it kind of
squeezes the inside of your legs
okay if you're sitting um you can just
squeeze like
like put your knees together but uh
you're standing
you kind of like squeeze your squeeze
the inside of your legs
okay your knees come together that helps
you to squeeze your perineum
okay so as you squeeze your perineum
make that chain reaction just practice
before you do the chain reaction just
practice squeezing your perimeter so
we're gonna do that
so squeeze okay
relax squeeze
okay it's the same motion to stop peeing
okay so if you need to pee and you need
to stop yourself peeing that's the same
same muscle contraction okay so squeeze
squeeze okay so you can do that any time
you want
a lot of people do kegel exercises the
same idea okay
so what that does is now it starts the
chain reaction of the energy squeezing
up
through your um through your spine and
through your
energy centers so from there
just imagine now you're going to combine
it with the breathing so as you can be
as you squeeze breathe in okay
do the reverse breathing that we learned
in one of the first lessons remember
reverse breathing is when you breathe in
your stomach goes in
you breathe out stomach comes out
breathe in
something comes in okay so now when you
breathe in i want you to squeeze the
perineum
at the same time so breathe in squeeze
the perineum
so it comes up right and squeeze your
and contract your your core so that goes
in
so i'm squeezing the energy comes
up from underneath and it also comes in
so now you're squeezing this part so now
you're squeezing the tube from the
underneath you're squeezing the tube
from the underneath and squeezing the
tube here
so now you kind of like created this
momentum
the first two lengths of the chain
perineum squeeze
and then your stomach squeeze okay
next squeeze is the solar plexus squeeze
okay so and at that point you don't
really need to squeeze more
i showed you how to squeeze all the way
up to the top of your head but you don't
need to do that okay
so just squeeze that breathe in and let
go let's just practice that
so squeeze premium squeeze core we then
let go squeeze perineum
breathe in squeeze the core let go
speed squeeze premium squeeze core
let go okay so keep doing that now to
um kind of like accelerate it i want you
to breathe like this with through your
mouth
like that like you're gasping okay
so when you breathe in do a gasp squeeze
your premium and your core at the same
time
and then relax
and relax
so that gasping is a natural
way your body actually wakes itself up
like that like when you see something
shocking you go okay
and what it actually does is naturally
gets the energy up
makes it go move upwards so if you
combine that breath the gasping breath
combine it with the premium squeeze
combining with the contracting of your
stomach you create this
upward momentum of energy starting from
the bottom going up your body
okay so now
we're doing it kind of like explosively
right like that
okay so do that a few times
okay so if you do a lot you can start
feeling like the heat
building up here that's great because
now you're activating that c energy
you're bringing it up
moving it and qigong practitioners what
do you actually imagine is it
going up the tailbone and then making
this little
engine happen so you're going up comes
up the tailbone
goes back in the front oh
so you create this engine that kind of
moves like this imagine there's a little
ball
turning inside of your dan tien that's
what's happening when
you do this okay so that's the
exaggerated explosive way
now there's the more gentler way just do
the
same thing but without such a forceful
breath just breathe in
let it move breathe in squeeze
and then relax feel that ball of energy
relax squeeze
relax squeeze breathe in
relax and notice what i'm doing
i'm doing this because i'm creating this
little ball
inside going back and forth
okay so that's the little engine that is
inside of your don tian
rolling forward of them so that's how
you start moving she upwards instead of
downwards
is by creating this kind of squeeze
and then creating this momentum
through the contraction of your muscles
and your breath that allows you to chi
to
start moving upwards through your energy
centers
so stay tuned to the next lesson and i'm
going to show you
how to start making the connections from
that point
