Art Journal Kit | September 2026 | 3 projects!

Welcome to the September art journal kit by Stamperia, and this is an amazing kit. I'm going to do the unboxing first, and then I'm going to share three different projects just to give you some ideas. So, first of all, this is the junk journal booklet, which is full of focal points. It is the flowers and poems collection, and you will find 16 pages inside. Some of the pages are going to give you beautiful backgrounds, as you can see, and others are going to give you cut out pieces that you can just pop out. Although it is a smaller size, you will find that the focal points included are quite large, so they can really make a statement on your pages. They can tell a story, and you can easily mix and match them to create clusters. Now, this is a page full of uh ladies, for example, you will find pages full of butterflies in different colors and in different uh sizes, and you see that it goes like this. This is another page with clocks and letters. And it's a collection that you can use throughout the year with lovely focal points that you can use again and again. Now, here is a fun fact, this was the first ever collection that Stamperia released years and years ago. So, this is a remake of it. And you can see flowers, frames, tags, even sentiments, and uh quotes. And in the last page, there's a pocket to store everything that you haven't used from the designs that you have popped out. In your kit, you will also get rice papers in beautiful background designs. I will show you a couple of ideas on how to use these today, and they are very neutral in color, so no matter what focal point you choose to add on top, it's going to pop no matter what. But, here are even more designs that you can use as focal points. These are cut out pieces. Uh they are made out of watercolor paper and you can color them with any medium that you like in any color that you wish. And you can see they are quite large, so they can make a great focal point on your pages. I will be sharing some ideas on how to use those today as well. You also get a stencil in a lovely combination of designs, butterflies, flowers, and text. They're really easy to use with this collection. And here is a treat. You do get a watercolor palette. This is a lovely set. You get so many different colors. And the colors are metallic, so you will end up with a lovely shine on your projects. You can use those to create your backgrounds as well as color your watercolor cutout pieces, and I will show you all the ways that you can use them today. So really lovely and it closes with magnets. Now here is a contour liner in white. It has a very fine tip. You can draw with it, you can write with it, you can create dots. And finally, you do get a ribbon. It is perfect for this kit because it gives that um romantic look. And it's always fun to introduce different textures when we are working on a mixed-media project. And let's start with some inspiration. I'm going to share three different projects today. I'm starting with the first one and I'm working with two of the rice papers included in the kit. I'm just going to uh cut these two pages in um rectangles. I'm not measuring anything and I try to have some smaller and larger pieces. I'm working with the browns here for my background and I'm just going to stick everything down by using my rice paper glue. You can use mixed-media glue as well for that step. And I'm working on my square watercolor art journal. And you can find everything I'm using linked down below, but I'm going to stay mainly with very basic supplies and play with what is included in the kit. Now, as you can see, I'm putting together a patchwork look. I'm overlapping those rectangles as I place them down and making sure that I have lighter and darker shades close to each other. This is a great way to use your rice papers to create a very easy background that you don't have to think at all and it always foolproof. It's going to look just fine because you always mix different textures and colors. So, the background always is going to be perfect for any focal point. Now, I'm using my glue and I'm going over the rice paper as well. I'm trying to make sure that everything is nicely stuck there and then I will use my heat gun to make sure that everything is completely dry before I move on to the next step. Now, here I'm just using my scissors to cut off any excess rice paper that I have and let's move on and do some ink blending on the edges all around. I always like to have a darker edge. It gives that vignette look on my projects and it makes them kind of look more finished. I went with coffee brown here, but I want to elevate that border even more to make it more visible. So, I'm going with black, but very lightly and only on the far edge. One of my favorite things to do on backgrounds is to add some brush strokes. Here I'm using some acrylic paint and with a stiff and dry brush, I'm just adding some brush strokes here and there. I went with a cream acrylic paint, but you can definitely do some other colors if you want. I feel like copper and gold would go great with this project or even white if you want to lighten it up. And you can use some water to dilute your paint and add some splatters if that's what you like. I I love splatters so I always add them, especially if I have some paint left over. And then if you see I have a blob of um gold acrylic paint which I'm going to use with my stencil now. I'm going to do that with a very stiff brush without water at all. I'm just applying the acrylic paint over the stencil and that's just one way to use the stencil. I'm going to show you two more ways just for the sake of the video. So by using the gold, I think it's going to blend nicely with what is underneath. It's not going to stand out too much, but it is going to add some shine and I will try to catch the light for you later on so you can see the difference. Now another thing that you can do with a stencil and it will depend on what mediums you have on hand is instead of using acrylic paint to go with any dye ink that you have. And here is a third way that you can use the stencil out of many more ways, of course. If you have any texture paste, I'm using here volume paste in any color, you can use that as well. So here I'm just going to show you for the sake of the demonstration by using the white volume paste, but again, if you have golden one or a copper color, it would look lovely or even black for a vintage looking project like this one. And although this project is vintage looking, you will see that I will share completely different styles with the rest of the projects today since the kit really allows to go any style you want. So the way I work is I just play layer after layer. Here I don't have an idea of what the focal point is going to be. So, some of the layers, some of the details might end up being covered up, but I don't get too attached with the layers and what I have done on the background. I'm just having fun layer after layer. So, I wanted to showcase the beautiful lady definitely for my first project. I picked out a butterfly. I'm going to pick out a frame. Also, this couple of letters and I will pick up the clock later on. So, I'm just having fun and picking out way more images than I'm planning to use because I want to audition them, try to decide what is going to look nice and balanced and then once I'm happy with the outcome, I will go ahead and stick everything down. Now, one thing I always do with those pop-out images is that I go all around the edges and ink them up usually with brown so that I cover up that white edge. And I did that with all the images. Now, it is time to play and decide how I want my layout to look. Now, I decided that I didn't want it this way because it was covering up too much of the background and I think that this way looks better. And that's what I decided to go with. I'm also going to add that clock at the back because I think it helps her to stand out even more. I'm going to glue everything down by using my matte glue and this is a glue that if you are Stamperia art journal kit collector, you do already have it from the first kit in the series. I think that having all those art journal kits every month is a great way to build your stash slowly. You end up with tools that you end up using again and again like the stencils or the stamps that you occasionally get. We did get an ink pad in one of the kits, a blending tool. This time we do have the watercolor palette. And as I'm putting together the cluster, I can talk a little bit about some questions that I get for this kit. Now, this is a journal kit with a selection of products that is released every month with a different theme. It is released on the second Tuesday of every month, so you can check it out and grab it quickly because they release out. They are very popular. And then keep in mind that this is not a subscription key. You get to see what is included every month and then you can choose if you wish to buy it. Down below in the description, you will find some links on where you can find it. Keep in mind that this video went live the moment the kit was released. So, give some shops a couple of days to stock up. Now, what I'm doing here is adding some shades which are going to help my focal points stand out against the background. I'm just using a brown dye ink with a stiff brush and I'm going around the edges. Very quick and simple to do. And it really makes a difference. Now, let's add some details with a metallic watercolor palette. I'm just going to add some water and with a thin brush, I'm going to use the white color to add some splatters. I love splattering and this is a great palette to add splatters because they end up looking very shiny when they dry. It is really hard to catch on camera, but it is a very subtle and elegant look. Now, I'm also going to use some of the colors here to highlight some of the focal points. So, I'm using pinks for the butterfly and her lips as well as green for uh the leaves. And I will try to catch the light for you so you can see the finished result. When it dries, it is nice and metallic. So, hopefully you can see what I'm talking about. Here are some close-up photos and you can see that I did end up doing some sketchy lines with black and white. Now, I'm going to start a couple more small projects so you can get even more inspiration. Uh I'm working on my A6 art journal here. This has mixed media paper inside and I'm just sticking my rice paper using again a rice paper glue. This time I didn't cut out the rice paper in smaller pieces or anything. I'm just using it as it is just to show you that it provides the perfect background if you want to create something quickly. Now, after the glue was dry, I used some white acrylic paint with a dry brush and I'm just going to add some random brush strokes here and there. This is always something that I do to make my background my own to make the background my own to make it look more artistic, more mixed media looking and it is also so fun to do. I'm adding some white splatters as well since I absolutely love those and you can definitely use any other color that you want. Uh I just tend to use what works for me and what my style is but you can use the same techniques and make them your own. Again, I'm going over the edges to add some darker edge and have kind of a frame, kind of a vignette look for this project as well. And by going over the white areas, you see how it lovely comes together so they don't stand out as they did before and become part of the project. Now for the next step, I'm going to do some stamping. Here I'm using a stamp set that was included in the first Stamperia uh journal kit. If you don't have that, I'm sure you do have some uh a stamp with text that would work for backgrounds. So that was a really quick uh a background to put together. Now for my focal point, I want to play with the cutout shapes. And again, these are watercolor paper, so they take any type of medium. Nice and thick, it's 300 GSM, I believe. And you can definitely use acrylic paints, you can use sprays, you can use markers to color them, you can use the watercolor palette that is included in the kit, or your dye ink pads, which is what I'm going to do for this project. And uh I'm just going to really quickly apply some ink. Here I'm using fresh green, lovely, and I'm going to mix it with uh the nature green for a darker shade. I'm not trying to be perfect. Imperfection is perfect because you end up with darker and lighter areas. I'm even introducing a touch of brown here and there. And then for the flowers, I'm going with purples. And here I'm going to mix violet with uh raspberry. And the beauty of those shapes that you end up coloring them any color, it matches your project. So you are not uh at all restricted by the colors from a collection. Now here's a fun touch. I'm going to do some stamping in some random areas on that focal point. This is going to give that focal point the same detail as my background, and it kind of brings everything together. And again, keep in mind you can use your markers or your pens and create beautiful uh designs like doodling on top of them. So I'm going to use my glue and stick that down. Really quick and fun project to put together, but I think it's going to look lovely at the end. Here I'm using a fine black marker to add some sketchy lines around the outline. And then don't forget we do have the white contour liner, which I'm going to use to add some uh really fun dots on the flowers. Completely randomly here and there, but I think it turns this uh looking so whimsical. And uh you can definitely draw the highlights like I'm doing here on the leaves. Which are going to remain nice and vibrant. You can definitely add some doodling on the perimeter if you like. I'm just going to add a few dots here and there. And then I always like to add a quote. So, I picked one of the quotes from the junk journal booklet, and I'm just going to stick it down. Uh most of the times I like to cut uh the longer phrases into smaller ones. I just love the look. And I'm not trying to align them perfectly. I find that in uh the journals when I have them on an angle, they look more fun. So, I finished it off by adding some white splattering. And here are some close-up photos on the second project that I shared for today. Really quick and easy to recreate, and you can definitely make it your own by switching up the rice paper at the back as well as the focal point and the colors. And for the third project for today, I'm working on my watercolor paper journal. I am going to play with this design, and I will use only the watercolor palette both for the background as well as for my focal point. So, here I'm going to mix some colors, and this is a reminds me of a coral. So, I decided to go with pinks and uh coppers and uh kind of uh burgundy browns. And all I'm doing is just uh dipping my brush every time in a different color and mixing as I go directly on top of my shape. Now, you can leave the first uh layer to dry and then go back and build up even more color. It's going to build up one on top of the other layers and uh you can end up with a very vibrant shape. So, after building up some uh layers of color one on top of the other, I'm going to leave this aside to dry. And of course, you can definitely use your heat gun to dry it out. This is going to shine uh really beautifully uh later on when it is dry. But for now, I'm going to do some uh embossing on my background. So, I'm using my very dirty stencil because I didn't go to wash it up. Anyway, I'm going to apply my embossing ink pad over the text and um I will add my fine white embossing powder. Now, if you don't have any embossing uh tools to do that, you can definitely use paste instead of it. Just go with uh your volume paste or a texture paste to get a similar look. Once I heat set everything and this uh powder is nice and embossed there, I am going to apply water. And remember, this is 300 GSM watercolor paper, so it takes water beautifully. It's not going to end up uh curvy and it stays nice and flat. I'm going to mix colors directly on top of my paper and I'm going with greens and blues as well as aquas for the background. And you see how beautiful it blends together. You can manipulate the color to blend even more. You can add some splattering if you wish. And I love how it reveals the beautiful embossing from the background. I'm going to leave this aside to dry. And now take a look at how shiny the metallic watercolors are. Just gorgeous. So after the background is dry, I'm going to add my white uh splattering. And I'm doing these steps separately because this way the white splattering is going to stay more uh vibrant. It's not going to blend as much in the background. Now I used glue at the back of my focal point. I'm going to stick it on top. And I love how it stands out. And you see it is a completely different look than the first project or the second. Just by switching colors and style, uh the kit really works with any style, I believe. I'm going to use my black marker only on one side of that um branch. So that kind of adding uh a shadow, let's say. And then I'm going to add my quote. Again, I just popped that out from uh the junk journal booklet that was included in the kit. And uh I'm going to finish it off by using the white contour liner. And again, repeat the same technique where you add some dots here and there, turning anything into looking more whimsical. I am adding it where I would normally add my highlights. So I think it helps every branch to stand out even more. And that finishes the third project for today. Here are all the three projects that I made while I was having fun.
