Video summary
The video features Specialist Diaz Herman from MRC East, who explains that his team was motivated by a unique opportunity to step out of their daily hospital clinic routines and compete in Army-wide tasks known as AWTs. This competition served not only as a test of skill but also as a chance for the squad to experience different aspects of military life together away from the base. To prepare rigorously, the team engaged in extensive physical training that included CWST practice sessions, rucking with heavy loads, and intense running drills designed to build endurance and sweat through hardship. These shared efforts fostered strong camaraderie among the members, creating a bond built on mutual reliance as they pushed their limits together before facing the actual competition.
Beyond the physical preparation, the squad focused heavily on building trust and understanding one another's capabilities under pressure. Specialist Herman expressed deep humility and pride in serving alongside his teammates, noting that he was surprised by what they accomplished collectively during the event. He emphasized that no single member is special; rather, everyone possesses a shared hunger to succeed and a collective desire to achieve their goals. The team demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout the challenges, proving themselves smart, capable, and adaptable as they navigated difficult scenarios together without giving up or losing focus on their common objective.
Upon completing the competition successfully, the group viewed the experience as an invaluable "battle lab" where they tested their limits and emerged victorious. This win was not seen merely as a final result but as a stepping stone to future growth, with the team committing to continuing their self-improvement efforts even after returning from the event. They recognized that while this competition is over, there is still much work needed to refine their teamwork so they can return stronger and better prepared for all future Army competitions. The victory reinforced their belief in their potential and solidified their readiness to tackle higher levels of difficulty with confidence.
Looking ahead, the squad remains determined to maintain their momentum and ensure that they continue winning against any challenge placed before them. Their mindset has shifted from simply participating to actively pushing boundaries and setting a high standard for themselves as they prepare for the next level of competition. The experience highlighted how adversity brings out the best in each member, transforming individual efforts into a cohesive unit capable of overcoming significant obstacles. Ultimately, their journey illustrates that with dedication, hunger, and unity, any team can achieve greatness and prove its worth on the battlefield or in training environments alike.

>> My name is Specialist Diaz Herman and
I'm representing MRC East. What
motivated us is just the opportunity to
come out of here and compete. Normally
in our base we just work in different
clinics around the hospital. So to have
the opportunity to come here and do
different Army tasks, AWT tasks, it's it
really means a lot to all of us to get
out of the hospital.
To prepare for this competition we did a
bunch of CWST practice, rucking, a lot
of running, lot of sweating together,
lot of camaraderie building. And what I
look forward to the most is just
finishing, experiencing all the hardship
that we're going to do and makes making
some great memories.

>> I learned a lot about the squad I'm
with. I'm honestly surprised at some of
the things we've been able to accomplish
together and I'm really humbled to be
with them and I'm really proud to serve
with these guys. We've been through so
much so far and they've been crushing it
just as hard as I've been crushing it.
Everyone's able to do this. I'm no one
special. We're just out here who want
it. We're hungry enough.

>> The team pulled through. They're
resilient, they're smart, they're
capable and we learned how to find
they're adaptable and I'm couldn't be
more proud of them.

>> So just like Sergeant Major of the Army
said, this is our battle lab. We won
this competition. Now it's time to
continue to go work on ourselves on our
own and improve as a team so that we
come back stronger and better for all
Army competition.
We are absolutely going to win and we
are definitely ready for the next level.
We'll keep pushing to make sure we do
win.
