The user experience is enhanced by features like AI-generated chaptering, transcripts for noisy environments, and an interactive chatbot, while the upload process is simplified by an AI agent that handles transcription, tagging, and cross-referencing with official technical orders. This ensures that contributors do not need to be professional writers or security experts; instead, the system guides them through safety checks and content generation, allowing even a tired technician at the end of a long shift to contribute effectively without administrative burden.
Beyond individual utility, Armory serves as a force multiplier for quality assurance personnel, maintenance chiefs, and commanders by capturing field-generated lessons learned and integrating them into the broader maintenance enterprise. The platform includes an impact dashboard that tracks global reach, SME endorsements, and estimated man-hours saved, which can be used to generate performance statements for recognizing high-value contributors. Furthermore, Armory is designed with a modular equipment kit based on commercial off-the-shelf technology, including specialized IR and snake cameras for dark or tight spaces, ensuring it is affordable, portable, and easy to deploy without extensive training. The implementation strategy follows a phased approach starting with a pilot program to measure contribution rates and maintenance efficiency, followed by expansion to additional units and eventual integration with aircraft program offices to update official technical data based on real-world field feedback.
Despite its innovative capabilities, the development team acknowledges and plans for significant risks such as information security concerns, institutional resistance to field-generated content, and usability barriers. It's 0200.
An aircraft is grounded. The technical
order has a four-page procedure that
covers the general case, but this jet
has a modification that changes
everything.
The crew chief has never seen this
failure before. His supervisor hasn't
either. The only person who has is at a
base three time zones away, and they're
asleep. This is not a hypothetical. This
happens on flight lines every day across
the maintenance enterprise. Complex,
rarely performed tasks, vague or
outdated technical guidance, and a
workforce that already has the answers,
but no reliable way to share them. The
result is delayed maintenance, reduced
readiness, and lessons learned that
never leave an individual organization.
Armory was built with aviation
maintainers in mind, but is not limited
to them. The same approach that makes
aviation maintenance more efficient and
ready can be applied to any organization
that relies on complex technical work.

Each video can carry a verified badge
once it passes Armory's validation
process.
That means it has been cleared for
OPSEC, checked for technical accuracy
against current tech data, and reviewed
for safety compliance. Maintainers
immediately know that they can trust.
Search is intentionally simple. Type a
problem, a component, or an airframe,
and Armory surfaces the most relevant
verified content. Filters let you narrow
by equipment type, AFSC, verification
status, or date. Simply search and watch
the video that addresses the issue at
hand.
Within the video player contains many of
the features found on other social media
platforms, plus features like AI
chaptering, transcripts for noisy
environments, an interactive commenting
system, personal note section, and an
embedded AI chatbot.
Sometimes tactics change or become
obsolete. Armory provides users the
ability to flag a video for review,
which places it back in the video
creator's my uploads in their library
for review and revalidation.
When a video is under review, other
users receive a pop-up and must
acknowledge the video is under review
before viewing it.
When a maintainer is ready to
contribute, they go to the creator
studio, Armory's upload and publishing
workspace. They drag and drop the video
file, and the auto-fill with AI button
analyzes the content and automatically
generates a title, description, and
suggested tags. No technical writing
required.
The smart TO finder lets contributors
describe their procedure in plain
language and instantly pull the relevant
official technical order. That way, the
video is cross-referenced against the
real TO before it ever goes to a
validator, which makes the review faster
and the content more accurate. Before
submitting, the contributor certifies
that the video contains no classified
information, no PII, and no sensitive
operational details. With one click, it
goes to the validator queue. In the
validator queue, every video is reviewed
by a named subject matter expert, a QA
technician, maintenance chief, or safety
officer. They see the video, the
transcript, and the auto tags alongside
a three-gate checklist: OPSEC safe,
technically accurate, and safety
compliant. They can also run an AI OpSec
scan for extra assurance before
publishing.
If everything passes, they publish
directly to the tactics feed. If
something goes wrong, they reject it and
feedback and request a re-record.
Every decision is logged and every
approval has a name attached.
The impact dashboard then shows
contributors the real-time value of what
they've shared, global reach, SME
endorsements, contributor tier, and
estimated man-hours saved. The EPR and
OER bullet builder uses those metrics to
generate ready-to-use performance
statements, so commanders can recognize
the maintainers who are creating the
most value. Finally, my library gives
each maintainer a personal toolkit. They
can save videos into collections,
whether that's deployment prep, quick
fixes, inspection prep, so the tactics
they rely on most are always one tap
away, as well as manage uploaded videos,
download videos for offline use, and
monitor subscriptions.
Beyond the core features, Armory
includes two AI agents that make the
platform smarter. One for people
creating content and one for people
searching for it. Let me show the first
one.
When a maintainer wants to contribute,
they open the upload agent. The AR AI
starts the conversation, no forms, just
questions. It asks what procedure they
want to share, confirms they have the
Armory filming kit ready, and walks
through a quick safety and OpSec check
before the camera ever turns on.
If the maintainer mentions sensitive
components, the agent reminds them to
cover those items with a blocking
curtain from the kit.
And flags the submission for priority
OpSec review in the validator queue.
After filming, the agent guides them
back into the creator studio,
auto-generates a transcript, suggests a
clear title and tags, and attaches the
relevant TO section for the validator.
From idea to submit a video, the upload
agent walks a maintainer through the
entire process without requiring them to
be a content creator, a writer, or a
security expert.
On the other side, the search agent
works for the maintainer who is stuck.
Instead of guessing the exact keyword,
they can type a natural language
question
the way they'd ask a co-worker.
The agent reads the intent, not just the
words, and surfaces the most relevant
verified clips first.
That means the maintainer at 2:00 a.m.
gets it answered in seconds instead of
flipping through a manual for an hour.

or tablet with a few familiar add-ons, a
small tripod, a wireless lapel mic, and
two plug-in specialty cameras, an IR
camera and a snake camera.
So, maintainers can capture work in
tight, dark spaces where a normal camera
cannot see.
Everything fits in a small Pelican-style
case,
cost under a standard government
purchase card single purchase limit, and
uses common Bluetooth or USB-C
connections.
That keeps it easy to buy,
easy to move, and easy for any
maintainer to use with minimal training.
Armada's designed for the entire
maintenance enterprise, not just the
person holding the wrench. At the ground
level, crew chiefs and maintainers get
practical support for complex or rarely
performed tasks instead of relying on a
vague TO package and hoping for the
best. They can watch a verified peer
demonstration on their exact platform
for their exact problem in a few minutes
and save it into my library for the next
time.
Quality assurance personnel and
maintenance chiefs become force
multipliers. Their expertise is no
longer confined to one flight line. It's
captured once, verified through the
validator queue with their name attached
and available to the entire force.
Commanders gain a direct line to
readiness data. Fewer ground delays,
better use of man hours, and a clear
picture of who's contributing.

give them a built-in way to formally
recognize those contributors
with no extra administrative burden.
At the enterprise level, aircraft
program offices and engineering
community finally get structured field
generated lessons learned. When the
maintainer finds that a published
procedure doesn't account for a specific
modification, Armory gives that
discovery a path upward to the people
who can update the technical data.
And safety and information security
personnel are embedded as accountable
validators, not roadblocks, but the
mechanism that gives every user
confidence in what they're watching.
>> Our implementation concept follows three
phases, each building on the last.
Phase one is a pilot. Stand Armory up on
a secure unclassified platform, for
example, Intelink or an equivalent
environment at a single wing. Equip a
small group of volunteer contributors
with filming kits, run the platform for
90 to 180 days, and measure what
matters: contribution rates, search and
view activity, validator throughput, and
the impact on maintenance man hours and
sortie generation.
Phase two is expansion. Based on the
pilot, extend access to additional
units, MDS communities, or full MAJCOM.
Build a trained validator community from
QA, chiefs, and safety officers. Refine
both AI agents based on real usage and
start tying Armory's impact metrics into
existing readiness reporting.
Phase three is integration.
At that point, we formally link Armory
to aircraft program offices and tech
data authorities. Field generated
content informs official maintenance
guidance. And updates to procedures flow
back into the platform. Armory becomes
part of a full cycle from the flight
line to the program office and back.
We want to be direct about the
challenges because we've already thought
through them.
The first and biggest risk is OPSEC and
information security. Filming aircraft
and vehicle systems carries inherent
risk. Classified components, sensitive
configurations, or controlled technical
data captured by accident. Our
mitigation is layered. The upload agent
screens for OPSEC before filming.
Blackout curtains are provided in every
kit. Contributors certify OPSEC in
Creator Studio. AI OPSEC scans assist
validators and a named expert signs off
before anything goes live. Five
checkpoints, one goal, nothing sensitive
reaches the feed. The second hurdle is
resistance at the program office and
enterprise level. Not every program
office will immediately embrace field
generated content and that's a
reasonable concern.
Armory is a supplement, not a
replacement for official guidance. The
smart TO finder links videos directly to
the relevant tech data and the lessons
learned pathway is built as a service to
program offices giving them organized
sourced field feedback they don't have
today. The third hurdle is usability and
access. If the system requires a
classified network or feels harder than
texting a co-worker, people will not use
it. Armory is intentionally designed
around a simple, familiar interface and
an unclassified but access controlled
environment. The constraint is clear. If
it isn't easy for a tired crew chief at
the end of a 12-hour shift, it doesn't
ship.
To move Armory from working prototype to
fielded pilot, we're asking for support
in three areas. First, platform and
infrastructure. We're requesting server
space or hosting on a secure
unclassified access controlled
environment such as Intelink so a crew
chief on the line can actually reach the
information.
Second, developmental support. We're
asking for partnership with a military
programming office or software
development unit to harden the
application for a wing-level pilot.
The prototype proves the concept. We now
need production-grade code, security
accreditation, and long-term sustainment
built for military standards.
Third, filming kits.
For the pilot, we're requesting a
limited number of standardized kits for
volunteer contributors at the test wing.
Each kit includes the phone or tablet,
the tripod, the wireless mic, the IR and
snake cameras, blocking curtains, and a
compact case.

they need to go from idea to verified
