>> Hello everybody. Welcome back to my
channel. It's Eva from Bohemian
Crafting.
I did share with you few weeks ago
actually now
this journal this binding which it's not
my original idea. Please don't take it
that way. I just was inspired by binding
uh
not sewing binding actually and binding
which allows you to take off your pages
once your book is done.
Take them out.
Decorate them. Make some writing. Do
anything you want. Then slide them back.
And you're ready to go with your
journal. So this
idea what I learned is from Australia.
If is it right?
And I just change it slightly instead of
one big piece here
uh
as a sliding thingy this hinge, I used
two small hinges and then I used this
for holding my pages and I did decorate
it the way where I will be able to hang
on each side on each end some
decorations. And I also used instead of
same pages, I used collection of
file folders envelopes and different
shapes.
And I showed you how to put the journal
together. Yet I forgot to show you how
you can create those pages. It's like
It's like showing you how to eat the
cake without showing you how to bake the
cake the first, right?
That was my little mistakes.
So today I'm coming to show you how I
made those pages. And by the way, if you

I shared on
uh on my Instagram, where I do share
some decorations from my journal.

So, today I'm coming to share share with
you how I actually made those pages. I
did used few different styles of my ink
prints. Ink print is something like
this, where you do have just outlines of
the shapes or of the image. So, that's
ink print. You can color it yourself or
you can use some decorative papers.
And then you can fussy cut out those
shapes. So, I did used all kind of
shapes to fussy cut out my my pages for
that journal. And I made collection of
these folders, envelopes, and stuff I
used. I do have it here and I will put a
link down below for that collection.
And what I did with this one, I actually
printed my sage wild sage green archives
collection on a very light paper, on
paper like this. This is 80 GSM paper.
Very light paper.
So, I have printed that collection,
wild sage archives collection on the
paper, and then on that
on that design, I have printed these
designs, something like you can see
here.

>> Exactly same way. I do have that
collection underneath.
Without those shapes, it's from my
upcoming collection.
So, I do have it without those shapes as
well.

So, here is with that printed
uh printed folder. Here is without. So,
uh
I have printed
on this [snorts] design
my ink saves. And exactly [snorts]
here you can see that some of the
images, I mean from your decorative
collections,
could be too dark.
And could be really hard to actually see
what I should fussy cut out from this.
This is exactly what I mean. If I will
try to find out what I should uh fussy
cut out from here, I will get lost. So,
therefore,
you can do it this way. If you do have
some very busy background, and you want
to you want to print it on a light
paper,
like is this one,
you can first back your paper with book
pages, reinforce that paper, and then on
those book pages you can print your
designs. That's what I did with the this
collection.
This is I think grungy basics
from my Etsy shop. I will put link for
all collections. You can see here down
below if you're interested, also for
that collection with those ink saves.
But you can always create your shapes
and enjoy all kind of stuff what you
will came up with. So, here, same
[snorts]
grammage of the paper
on these designs.
Then, I glued book pages from this side,
and then
And here, I'm going to speed it up the
the video because it's just boring fussy
cutting. What I want to say, once I had
uh reinforced that paper with book
pages,
I put my papers back to my printer. And
on the side where book pages were glued,
I have printed my ink save
ink savers designs.
Uh you always
should learn which way your printer is
printing papers. It's uh
one important thing you should learn.
Also, which way is printing top and
bottom of papers. That's also good to
know, so you will don't get surprised
that maybe you will print out on the
backside of your papers
uh new designs or these ink savers
designs upside down. So, always learn
your printer. And here, you can see that
these ink savers print uh looks really
good on those book pages, and I have to
say I really do love the feel of these
papers even if it was printed originally
on very light paper. With this
reinforcing with book pages, I do have
now nice and strong folders, pockets,
and basic shapes for my journal. And it
really does make huge difference.
I do have this grungy style done, and I
do have offcuts in one pouch, and then
pockets and labels and tickets in
another one.
Here, I do have that botanical style
papers. And again, same offcuts are
here. Here are pockets and
some of the auto tickets. And I also
took for this collection
few papers from that Doe Crafts
collection, from this one, because I
actually like, you know, like them
for this one.
So,
here with this, I do have
those very colorful papers and the
bluish papers,
which I hope they will go nicely with
this.
Uh
because I don't feel that I want to work
with this one right now yet. Uh I'm
going to concentrate on these two.
And I will actually try to mix them
together, those file folders.
So, now I can try to mix it all
together.
I'm going to start again with large
pieces and
I think
these are those folders,
that pocket, and
yeah, I think these are those biggest
pieces. I'm going to kind of separate it
on
biggest pieces and smaller parts.
So, now here,
I do have kind of similar stuff, large
folders,
large pockets,
and also,
uh I what I noticed, especially on this
one, where
there is writing and those flowers,
uh I somehow managed that I have printed
that pocket upside down.
You know, with this fold, it should be
folded this way
and closed, and that will make pocket.
But because of the print and the flower
upside down, I decided
to keep this on this side outside like
glue it here and here once it's all
done.
Or keep it open and
make here those holes for those hinges
and then put some something here and
something here. And I can keep this one
as a hinge for an extra paper.
So with with this style of binding, it's
actually
a kind of
not so hard to choose
which way you will flip your papers
because you will always have a chance
to, you know, adapt it somehow.
Even if you will print upside down, I
mean.
So I like to have this.
Okay. Small small. These are large. So
now I can continue
with papers I do have here.

And maybe these. I will see.
So I can go with these smaller parts and
of course I will try to
somehow
spread it the way that
all colors will be spreaded nicely.

So, now I can
choose
how I will put it together and actually

for another book, and these I'm going to

So, this is for one book and this is for
another book.
And with these, I'm going to work
exactly the same way.
I'm going to put larger pieces first.
Then I will go with smaller pieces.
And I will also try do not go with
exactly same pattern, you know.
Like this

And I do have these two
which I will place
once I know how my
pages will be. So, I will have it this
way.
Here at the front it will be

And this one will be somewhere I'm
guessing somewhere
here.
That's layout for my book.
And here I do have another two
uh journals made with similar style with
that binding.

this process. I have to say
so far this binding it's my total
favorite because I am able with this
binding, you know, to do sewing of the
front
cover including those binding strips
because I can take off these pages.
Flat it down, so I do have bigger space
and I can go with my sewing machine very
easily here and all around which is
perfect. Same I can do on that back
cover, which I already did, as you can
see.
So, this binding so far, it's really my
favorite. It allows me to take off the
pages, decorate them, and also put few
different pages at once, like I do have
here.

and then this page, and they are on the
same hinges.
So, I can put there more
pages if I will want so, and do
different styles of layers,
like you can see here,
that this is shorter one, and then I do
have that larger one, and then I do have
small and the larger, so it can be, you
know, totally up to me. These papers
needs to be decorated and finished, of
course,
but I have to say I love that straight
away, because it's
very beautiful. It gives to my
creativity lots of space,
and
amazing opportunity what I can add
inside, and I do love to add
too much, actually, [laughter]
to my journals. My journals are mostly
very bulky and full of things. So, these
expandable hinges, or you know,
exchangeable pages, they are perfect for
me. So, this is my sharing for today. I

this journal, where is exact process of
how you will make these hinges, and how
you will put all together, all the book
together.

in like botanical style and a little bit
grungy. So I do prepare myself for a
little bit more soft and feminine
