Video summary
In this video, the host provides a heartfelt update on her life and career after taking a significant break from uploading content. She explains that while she started her YouTube channel over ten years ago, it took about five years to truly understand the platform's mechanics and grow an audience. The primary reason for her recent hiatus was balancing motherhood with work; having raised four daughters who are now heavily involved in wrestling and soccer teams, along with managing a growing family size, she felt unable to keep up with both her children and professional obligations. Consequently, she made the conscious decision alongside her sisters to step back from their cooking channel, "Six Sisters," temporarily to prioritize being present for her family, though she remains grateful for all the support received during this time away.
To celebrate returning to creating content, the host shares three of her favorite summer recipes that are perfect for a casual dinner gathering. The first dish is her mother's seven-up grilled chicken marinade, which features Sprite, soy sauce, vegetable oil, and horseradish as key ingredients; she notes that while marinating overnight yields the best results, even four to five hours will produce deliciously tender meat. For dessert, she prepares a no-bake eclair cake using pudding mix, Cool Whip, and graham crackers layered in a pan until they set for several hours. She offers practical tips on adjusting ingredient quantities if box sizes differ from the original recipe and emphasizes that slight imperfections are perfectly acceptable when making this easy treat at home.
The final featured dish is her go-to side of deviled eggs, which she describes as an essential item to bring anywhere. The preparation involves hard-boiling six eggs, carefully removing the yolks, and mixing them with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper, and dill relish before piping the filling back into the whites using a plastic bag for precision. She finishes the dish by sprinkling paprika on top for color and flavor, resulting in what she calls "the best devil egg." The video concludes with her assembling these three components—grilled chicken, deviled eggs, fresh fruit salad from Costco, and the chilled eclair cake topped with frosting—to create a complete and enjoyable summer meal that is both simple to make and highly satisfying.

hey everyone it has been a while and so
today I'm going to talk about why it has
been a while where we have been but I'm
also sharing some fun recipes with you
today first off I just want to say thank
you thank you for your kind comments I
still read the comments and I still get
them all the time of where are you guys
where have you been so today I thought I
would do a video and answer those
questions so as crazy as it is we
started this YouTube channel about 10
years ago now we didn't know what we
were doing we were kind of a giant hot
mess it was bad those first ones are bad
but about 5 years ago I finally figured
out how YouTube Works what it wants to
see and that's when we started gaining
an audience it has been such an amazing
experience getting to know you guys and
you're getting to know me it's crazy
when I first really started I started in
Texas then moved to California then I
lived in an apartment for a while but we
built our house and then we finally
moved to Utah and also through all of
that I was having children and when I
was a little bit bigger in size you all
saw that I was growing as I was cooking
videos and it was fun to share that part
of my life with you now as crazy as it
is that's been over 2 years since I had
my baby and now she is huge but I think
one of the main reasons I stopped is
because I have five kids it's been so
hard to balance work and kids my oldest
daughter actually started wrestling and
she got second in state she is now
wrestling on the Utah national team
which is awesome I have four daughters
who also play soccer they're on
traveling soccer teams which again keeps
me busy I was getting to the point where
I couldn't keep up with my life I
couldn't keep up with my kids and I
couldn't keep up with work and so I kind
of had to make a choice and so I decided
and as sisters we actually all decided
together to take a few steps back from
Six Sisters that way we would have time
to focus on our family and for us that's
the most important thing so I just want
to thank you all for being here and
supporting me and my sisters and all
that we're doing and thank you for being
supportive of me just being a mom it's
my favorite job but while I'm being a
mom I still cook a lot of food so I
thought it would be fun to make this
video not only an explanation but also
kind of a fun cooking video I've missed
it I really have missed it so I'm going
to show you some of my favorite summer
recipes so if you guys are okay with it
stick around cook with me a little bit
let's have some fun so the first recipe
I'm making is my mom's seven up grilled
chicken we had this growing up it was my
favorite and so I thought I would make
it for you guys so first I'm going to
make the marinade and then let it sit in
there for a few hours while we cook
everything else all right so I usually
take a
9x13 container and that's where I put
the chicken and the marinade now I have
what four or five chicken breasts here
some of them are nice and skinny that's
what I like to see we can just throw it
right in there but these big boys some
of them are big so we're going to
carefully carefully I just like to split
mine right in half so we can have nice
skinny chicken breast so they can
marinate nicely and also cook nicely all
right chicken is done we are ready to go
we're going to do 1 12 oz can of sprite
pour that right in next we have half a
cup of soy sauce 1/4 cup of vegetable
oil we're going to eyeball that there
and then horseradish sauce this is the
secret this is the best you just want
about one well calls for a half a
teaspoon but I like to do a little bit
more CU I think it's delicious we just
mix mix that around just a little bit
and then you're done now the secret is
my mom would marinate this 24 hours
now today I don't have that long I have
maybe four 5 hours it will still be
delicious but if you can do it longer it
is so good so the next recipe I'm making
for you is the dessert because it's got
to sit for a little bit so I'm making my
no bake eclair cake all right we're
going to start with a bowl so you're
supposed to have two small boxes that
are 3.4 Oz each but I only have a big
one today so we're just going to do one
big one it's going to change the recipe
a little bit but don't worry the link is
down below in the description for you
from here I'm going to add three cups of
milk the original recipe calls for three
and 1/2 but because I don't have as much
pudding we're doing three go ahead and
whisk this together and then we're going
to put it right into the fridge to set
up for a few minutes it will set up
pretty quickly which is nice all right
now while that's setting up I'm going to
get everything else ready so I've Got My
9x13 Pan then to the bottom of our 9x13
we're going to add our gam crackers just
going to layer these right on the bottom
now the first layer they go pretty
evenly like you can get six across
pretty nicely and then we're going to do
just a little bit just to fill in the
gaps if you can see right there okay
we're going to set these aside and then
grab our pudding it's all well it's
pretty set up enough set up that it will
be just fine so now we're going to grab
our Cool Whip and we're just going to
add that right in this is like one of my
favorite treats in the summer it just
it's so so good it's so good I'm going
to fold it first and then we'll whisk it
with the Whisk but it's easier to fold
in first once it's all whisked and
beautiful it's time to start layering it
up okay so we're going to use about half
of the pudding now I of course I'm going
to eyeball this cuz that's how I do all
things the first layer over the grime
crackers you want to gently put on then
it will be easier to spread around all
right next we're going to just add more
layers of gram cracker the best part
about this is that that the gram
crackers get soggy and man they taste so
good now now that the pan it's not
straight up and down it kind of goes
wide and so you have a little more space
so see how I have some extra space just
right there then I'm going to take my gr
cracker and just squeeze it in we want
to make sure that there's gram crackers
around all the edges I always break them
up just to make them fit a little bit
better okay there we go okay now we're
going to add the rest of the pudding on
this one's easier because you're grand
crackers are not moving they are soaked
in that pudding well this one is going
to be a little thicker but do you know
what it's okay really everyone's going
to eat it it doesn't matter that much
now my mom when she cooks when she makes
this she is a perfectionist and so
she'll always like wipe the sides down
so you can make sure that you see all
the layers all right this is our last
layer of graham crackers I'm going to
kind of like rip off a little bit of a
side cuz my my pant is rounded and so it
fits better if I don't have a point
because my pan isn't pointed so then I'm
going to take this I'm going to cover it
with plastic wrap throw it in my fridge
let it sit in there for about 3 hours so
while the chicken is marinating and the
clear cake is setting up we're going to
work on one of my favorite side dishes
that I take everywhere I'm going to make
for you the easiest doubled eggs you
guys are going to love them all right
you're going to start with six
hardboiled eggs now if you want some
tips on how to make hardboiled eggs I'll
put a link down below to one of my
favorite ways to make them I make them
in the instant pot it's the 555 method
it's the best that's how I made these
now once you have all your eggs peeled
we're just going to cut them directly in
half perfect then we're going to take
out the yolk and put it in a separate
little bowl we're just going to throw it
in there we go very carefully you don't
want to kill any of the egg whites I
have taken out all the yolks put them in
a bowl we're just going to mash up the
yolks and add a few more ingredients
we're going to add 2 tbspoon of
mayonnaise 1 tbsp
of mustard we have some salt and pepper
to taste then we have 2 tbspoon of
relish I love dill relish but if you
want sweet that's fine too we do heaping
heaping tablespoons here cuz I love the
Relish in it then we're just going to
grab a fork and mix this all together
now my secret to filling the eggs is
using a plastic bag we're going to use
it like it's a we're piping frosting but
we're going to just pipe the eggs it
just makes your life so much easier then
I'm just going to cut a corner I just
take one and I fill
it just a little bit it doesn't have to
be perfect but it sure is a lot easier
than trying to scoop it all in then when
they're all done I just take a little
bit of paprika and sprinkle on top just
to give it a little bit of color oh that
one was a lot but I love paprika I'll e
that one all right there you have it the
best devil
egg let's taste
[Music]
so good all right theair cake is looking
so good now it's time for my frosting
I'm going to put a link down below for
my favorite frosting recipe that that
one is so good it's from my mom's
marshmallow brownies it's so good on
this one the problem is is I am out of
powdered sugar so thankfully I do have
some can frosting either way if you're
in a hurry and you want to make a quick
treat this this is perfect or you can
make your favorite frosting recipe to go
with this whatever you choose it's
delicious either way now you just want
to layer it on very gently like we
talked about before just getting that
first layer is a little trickier but
once you get that down it'll be a lot
easier to spread around all right we are
officially all done you can see the
little layers man it's going to be good
[Music]
so this is just kind of our quick summer
dinner so I always have fresh fruit I
love good Costco salad we got our
grilled chicken we got our deviled eggs
and then of course we can't wait to div
in dig into the dessert well guys thank
you so much for joining me today now if
you want more easy simple recipes like
these ones you can find more just right
up there all right everyone see you
later
