Video summary
The video documents a solo traveler's immersive four-day stay in Mexico City, beginning with her arrival from a destination wedding in Cancun. She checks into a historic bed and breakfast built in the 1910s located in the vibrant Roma Norte neighborhood, which she praises for its walkability and charming architecture despite some initial confusion regarding the room locks. The vlogger reflects on the emotional weight of attending her baby sister's wedding after twenty-five years of friendship, noting that despite expecting a party atmosphere, she found herself tearing up as her sister walked down the aisle. Her trip is marked by a logistical challenge involving packing for three distinct climates—summer in Cancun, winter in New York, and the transitional weather of Mexico City—which forces her to adjust her wardrobe mid-trip and eventually rent an additional suitcase to manage her belongings effectively.
Throughout her exploration of the city, the traveler indulges in authentic local cuisine, trying everything from street tacos with guava juice to unique dishes like chilakilles and Greek coffee, while also navigating the practicalities of solo dining where she learns not to be too greedy when finishing meals alone. Her days are filled with shopping at markets filled with Mexican designers, visiting upscale areas like Polanco to explore museums such as MoMA and the National Art Museum, and browsing perfumeries that smell like forests. She frequently interacts with friendly locals and fellow travelers, sharing K-pop jokes and discovering shared interests, which alleviates any loneliness she might have felt traveling alone. The city's lush greenery, plant-lined streets, and sudden changes in elevation present both aesthetic beauty and minor physical challenges, such as tripping over bumps on the sidewalks and dealing with dry air that requires diligent skincare routines like sheet masks.
As her trip concludes, the vlogger expresses deep regret that three days felt too short to experience everything Mexico City has to offer, particularly noting that a five-day stay would be ideal to avoid feeling rushed. She visits a famous bakery for her final breakfast, admiring the historic statue of a horse outside the National Art Museum, and ends her journey with a traditional taco meal at a spot with a long line, acknowledging that while the food was slightly salty for her taste, the experience was memorable. Despite experiencing physical discomfort like cramps and fatigue from walking extensively, she leaves with high energy to recommend the city to everyone, praising the phenomenal service of her accommodation hosts and promising to return in the future when the weather is cooler and traffic is less congested.

Hi. I just checked into my Mexico City
stay. It's like a bed and breakfast kind
of place. Built in the 1910s. It's 4:00
p.m. Just got here from Cancun. I tried
to vlog in Cancun, but it's my first
time doing a destination wedding, and
destination weddings are crazy.
I was so busy from morning till night,
but I did swim a lot. I don't know if
you could see my tan line. I got tanned.
Also, this has been my airport outfit
through all the airports. It's actually
a set. I wore it like this in New York
cuz it's cold. And then in Cancun, I was
wearing it like this. This set is from
Pisces, but this tank top is from
Verish. So comfortable, so stretchy,
very flattering. You could take the
skirt part off which is nice. Yeah, the
wedding was so pretty. I was trying to
vlog so I did get some footages and I
guess I'll play them right now.
>> Everyone's hiding in the shade.
[laughter]
EVERYBODY STAND UP. EVERYBODY STAND UP.
OKAY, come on. Pull you guys together.
Come on. Give it up for the play of the
group.
[cheering]
>> Just like a little recap of the weekend
celebrating my baby sister's wedding.
We've literally known each other for 25
years now. grew up together, raised each
other, and now she's married. I thought
I wasn't going to cry because the whole
wedding felt like such a party cuz it
was like a destination wedding. I was
like, "Oh, I'm not going to cry." But
once she started walking down the aisle,
I was like,
the tears wouldn't stop. But the plans
are I'm going to change, go shop around
this neighborhood because I didn't bring
enough like in between seasonal
clothing. I only brought really summery
clothes for Cancun and then like fall
winter clothes for New York and then
Mexico City is like in the middle. So, I
have nothing to wear. I'm serious. And I
started the trip with two luggages, like
a big trunk and a carry-on, thinking I
could do three cities with just those
two luggages. I was wrong. So, I had to
get a third small one. If it was all the
same season, I think I could have done
it. Anyways, I'm going to change and
then go out. This is what I'm wearing.
Okay, it's already 5:00 and I'm hungry.
So, let's go. I got to carry this key
around.
This is what the outside of my bed and
breakfast looks like.
I'm covering myself in black. I hope you
don't see me. Trying not to make [music]
a mess from things that you've told me.
How long can you hold on to a fantasy
day? Why'd you have to go and say you
like me? We were doing well and I know
[music] you too well. You're the one who
threw us down and wishing well. Didn't
think you'd be the kind of one to kiss
and tell. Well, oh well. Oh well.
[music] Don't say that.
Are you the one that threw us down
wishing well?
>> I'm not going to
[singing]
[music]
play on the baby.
>> Oh well. Oh well. Oh well. I'm not going
to like it, baby.
[music]
If I want to feel better, then you've
got to be a stranger in my life.
[music and singing]
Hola. Gracias.
Chile.
Oh, I'm so hungry. I usually don't eat
cilantro, but I wanted to try it the
authentic way.
So, so good. Oh my god,
>> that was really yummy. I mean, it was it
was really good, but like I don't know
if I can say that was the best taco I've
ever had, but it was quick. It was easy.
It was cheap. It was So, it was good. I
got my guava juice to go. And also,
straws are banned in Mexico City.
I'm staying in Roma Norte and I love how
walkable this neighborhood is.
I made it into my room. So, there are
two locks and you're only supposed to
lock the top one from the outside, but I
didn't know. So, I locked it from the
inside and I left. And then he used like
two different knives to try to open it.
Anyways, 9:45. I'm already tired, so I'm
going to wash up and go to sleep. So,
I'll see you guys in the morning. Good
night.
That mirror though.
Good morning. About to get breakfast,
but I just wanted to show you the
exterior of this building. has two
floors,
but because it's surrounded by so many
trees, it's so dark.
This breakfast area is so cute. But
seriously, look how dark it is. It's
8:30, but it looks like dinner time in
here. This is the hallway. I haven't
gone upstairs yet, but I want to check
it out. This is where I checked in
yesterday, too.
Look at the light. How fun.
I guess there are four others. And I'm
here by myself. So, sitting at this
table all alone. Bueno.
>> Good morning.
>> How are you? Okay.
>> Yes.
>> Did you sleep well?
>> Mhm.
>> Fresh strawberries.
Scramble.
>> Okay.
>> See? Okay.
Cappuccino.
What the hell? This cappuccino's bomb.
So happy. I'm so early. Nobody else is
here. Am I better than everyone?
uh tea and a ketchup.
[laughter]
>> This is a very wellbalanced breakfast.
[clears throat]
>> Okay, ready for day two in Mexico City.
This is my outfit. The lace top is from
Zara. This bracelet is from Suz Miaz.
The rings are from Kira and Misha. Nails
from Jenny Nail. The bag is from
Dinette. It's been my airport bag, but
today I'm going to go to the market, so
I thought I would need to bring a big
bag to fit everything in there. Pants
are my favorite. The skirt pants combo.
It's been my go-to. I love it. And then
shoes from Coast Cost. I have to take
the taxi here cuz it was kind of far.
Hopefully, they exchange it for me here.
I'm walking in a neighborhood called
and it's very walkable, very loud, lots
of shops, very lively. But right now,
I'm getting hungry. So, I'm in search
for a restaurant. I don't have any
restaurants near here saved. So, I'm
just going to go into whatever looks
good. I'm going to go to a brunch spot
in here.
>> I have no idea what chilakilles is, but
I just wanted to get it because it
sounded like the most Mexican. Like, it
sounded the most authentic thing on the
menu.
Now that I have eaten, let's explore
this building that's full of Mexican
designers.
[music and singing]
You [music and singing]
get
[singing and music]
so cute in here.
It's my hot chocolate.
>> I'm obsessed with this place.
The wind feels nice.
>> Wow.
Thank you. Oh my god.
>> How do you wear this?
>> Even the fitting room is so cold. Okay,
I'm going to try some things on. I love
this.
Why is caught on
Did you put this on?
>> Oh, I love K. Yeah. You like K-pop?
>> Oh my god. I was like all changing. I
was like, why is coming on right now?
>> I once wore them in the [music]
>> Where's my K-pop playlist? Here it is.
>> Who's your favorite favorite girl?
>> Okay. GR
basically all
>> What's your name? a lot.
>> A lot. I'm Ashley.
>> Ashley.
I remember when I was making this
[music] playlist, I was like,
>> "Wo, this shirt is so cool. This This is
like supposed to make a tie. I don't
know how to do it. I'm going to ask Ella
to do it."
>> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I see it. I see.
I see the vision. Imagine this like
black paste of
>> Thank you. Thank you. So nice meeting
you. So wholesome.
>> Me too. I had so much fun. Thanks for
the K-pop jokes.
>> Of course.
>> Enjoyed it. Yeah. I hope you can come to
Korea.
>> Yes, I [music] will. I'll let you know.
You'll be the first person.
>> Okay. Thank you.
>> Bye.
>> I actually bought something. Can't wait
to wear it.
My legs were hurting from walking so
much. So, I got on an Uber and I'm going
to the Bibliotea now.
Wow.
Go up to the top floor once and then go
home. Also, I brought a long sleeve cuz
I knew I was going to get cold at night.
I feel so smart.
>> Finally here into Gana. Oh my god, I'm
so hungry.
>> The bread is so good.
and
Ashley.
>> Hello. Sorry.
>> Hi. Nice to meet you.
>> Oh, see Choppy and Chester.
>> I was just like walking around the whole
day, but I was like, I want to go here.
Not enough time.
>> I heard you used to live in freshman.
>> Hell yeah.
Crazy
>> Queen's kids. Yes, happy neighbor.
>> I went to do and like I grew up in
Bayside.
>> That's crazy. We're neighbors.
>> Everything has been great so far. The
bread was amazing.
>> Oh, thank you.
>> We literally make everything in house.
Puree seasoned and deliciousness. And
the other side is ricotta. And then this
is the warm flavors of fall.
McDonald's fudge cream.
>> Oh my god, I'm so full. But this is so
good.
Time to go home. It's nine. It's a
little past 9. hard for me to keep my
eyes open.
My skin is so dry.
Today was a really good first full day
in CDMX. Literally, everything is so
pretty here. All the streets. I was
walking and I needed to go this way.
Then I would see something across the
street that was also really cute. And I
just wanted to go everywhere. And it
made me think, oh, like 3 days is way
too short. It's 4 days, but it's like
three full days, you know? So, tomorrow
I'm planning on starting the day earlier
because tomorrow is my last full day. I
wasn't lonely today because I made a
friend while shopping. Shout out to L.
And I also met my friend's friend eating
dinner. So, it was great. I got to talk
to and socialize with people. So, it
really wasn't bad at all. I'm going to
use this accent oil cut cleansing to
remove my makeup. Whenever I go in for
skincare treatment, my one name always
packs me sample sizes when I tell her
I'm going to travel. So, I just travel
with Detroit sample sizes all the time.
My skin's so dry. First, the elevation
is higher here. Second of all, the air
quality is not that great and it's like
still kind of hot in the morning because
of the sun, but at night it gets chilly.
So, my skin was like dehydrated. I need
to do a sheet mask tonight before
sleeping. Can't hang. It's only 9:30,
but like so tired. Okay, [snorts] be
right back. I'm going to shower.
Yes, they left the window open after
cleaning and so many mosquitoes got in.
How many more do I got to kill?
Put my sheet mask on. New season of It
Ends With Us came out that I've been
waiting for. So, I'm going to watch it
and go to sleep.
Good night.
[clears throat]
My throat hurts. [laughter]
>> [clears throat]
>> Time to do my makeup.
We just got back from breakfast. The
food was amazing. Um, today I had
fruits, yogurt, croissant, and
chinchilla.
What was it again? Which is what I had
for lunch yesterday, but it was so much
better here today.
For blush, I've been using Entropy's
Autumn Vibe. I don't own any blush this
color, so I was really excited for this.
perfect autumn color. It's like the
little beigish. It's not powder, but
it's also not liquid. It's like in the
middle, kind of like a balm texture. The
lighting's not giving. I still haven't
really decided where I'm going to go
today. I mean, I know I'm going to go to
the Palano area to check out the two
museums and some shops in the area, but
after that, I don't know if I should go
all the way downtown for the Freda Kalo
Museum or stay in the vicinity and check
out other museums. I was talking to the
owner here this morning and she like
gave me some great ideas. So, now I just
have too many ideas and I don't know
which one to go with.
I'm going to put some Fenty Beauty
highlighter on my
cheekbones.
This is what I'm thinking of wearing.
After all the stuff that I tried on at
the wig shop yesterday, I decided to go
with this green colored really sheer
soft fabric that you can wear in
different ways. You could wear it like
this. I originally wanted to just wear
this halter top, but it's too cold. I'm
just going to do offshoulder for now cuz
it's like kind of warm and then later at
night I could put it on. But yeah, the
top is from a brand called ABL Studio.
It's made in Mexico. I wanted to get
something from a Mexican brand since I'm
in Mexico. Okay. And for the lips, I've
been using these two Hera products. I'll
just do a natural overline over lip with
this one. It's 400 and it's the powder
matte lip. So, I will line my lips.
Actually, do I want to go with the bold
lip today? Maybe I'll do a lip liner.
I'm going to do a brown lip liner.
And then I'll let this Hera tube beige
number 430.
It's my lippy. And I'm going to wear
these boots that I bought on the streets
on my first night for like 60,000 Korean
one. I think it was like 70,000 Korean
one. But I've been looking for kind of
like sleek looks, sleek boots like
these. I need to pack my three lippies,
a snack just in case I get hungry in
between meals. I'm going to bring my
face mist today cuz yesterday it was
really dry and I didn't have one. And
for scent, I'm going to put on Notorious
Woud from DS and Dura. I've never heard
of this brand before, but when I was in
New York, I went to Brooklyn while I was
shopping around. I bought like a candle
for my friend's birthday and got this
sample size from there. [snorts]
This scent is like leathery but sweet
woody sunglasses.
These vintage ones from Chanel.
My little card wallet which is from
Ghani. I hate how my hair does this
length is like at an awkward length
where just does this by itself unless I
straighten it out. I didn't bring any
hair tools with me cuz I thought I would
be okay with just a roll brush but no.
Okay, time to go.
>> How's everything?
>> Good.
>> Did it work out for you?
>> That is crazy.
We have extra
must be surprising.
Okay, now I'm going to the museum that's
right next to the museum we just went
to. This is Mox.
That's Mo Soyama.
took the Uber and came to the Palanco
area. This neighborhood seems more
upscale. I see Farerraamo and I see a
few like designer brands. I'm going to
have lunch here because it's in a really
pretty building. Just found it on Google
Maps while I was walking by. The review
is okay, so I think it'll be okay.
I'm obsessed. [music]
Okay.
>> After getting seated, I saw that the
reviews for the food weren't that
[music] great, so I just decided to get
the simplest thing on the menu. I
haven't had enchilada here yet, so I
just got an enchilada.
I'm going to check out this perfumery
called Zeno. Smells amazing in here.
Smells like forest.
Smells like a really fancy spa.
Thank you. Thank you. You too. I'm going
to get coffee here at No Bad Coffee
Club. What is Greek coffee?
>> Like a Korean cookie.
>> Really?
>> Yeah. Korea has something called yakqua
>> and it's very similar. Yakwa.
>> Yakqua.
>> Okay.
>> I love it.
>> It's like fried, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. M. It's good.
>> Yeah. I love it. This one.
>> Melo macarona.
>> That's Yeah. You are the first person
when I say complete.
>> What?
>> I don't [laughter] know. It's difficult
for some.
>> It's long.
>> Does that mean like
>> trying a Greek pastry in Mexico City?
It's like a Christmas treat.
>> Guaranteed to be like, "This is not a
fairy tale."
>> Tastes like
>> my third museum of the day.
>> I want to do this.
>> I want this.
>> Okay,
>> follow me.
>> Whoa.
Gracias.
>> Wow.
>> Gracias.
>> Thank you so much for you.
>> Thank you. One for me and one for Who do
I give this to?
>> It's quite a walk up to the castle.
No, it's closed.
>> I said I can look for five minutes. Why
does everything close so early?
I should have come to the castle first
and then gone to the museum cuz the
museum closes at 5:45 and the castle
closes at 5. That's what I get for not
being a planner.
Filming a little OOTD.
I am glad I went even if it was really
short cuz I don't think I could have
done the hike again tomorrow cuz I'm
like quite dizzy right now. Um but
there's like a line here cuz apparently
they do like a museum tour at night with
opera. All these people are waiting.
That sounds so fun though. I want to go.
He gave me a new hat.
>> I'm dead. He gave me a portrait for
free. I got two more. [music]
It's already time for dinner. I heard
that this restaurant is good. Vika
Varika. So, I'm going to go here for
some seafood.
>> [music]
>> We go to the first bet like a $50 close.
So, as we're walking up,
>> I'm like, [music]
>> usually when you do a bed, it's like
automatic press down. So, you're down.
>> I don't know what the car means.
Reservations.
>> Yeah.
Good morning. It's my last day and I'm
rushing to get ready. It's almost 9:00.
I want to skip breakfast today to go to
a bakery, a famous bakery that I had
saved. And then I'm going to go to the
National Museum. I swear I'm not usually
in a rush when I'm on vacation because I
want to have a leisurely time, but
there's just so much I want to see. I
think you have to stay at least 5 days
or else you're just missing out on so
much. I have to leave the hotel around
2:30 today. My flight is at 5 and then I
have a layover in San Francisco and then
I'll be flying to Inchan from there.
This is my OOTD. I wear the dress I wore
for the wedding as a skirt and then wore
this unbalanced top. Again, really like
this. Love the fit. Love how soft it is.
I also wear my jeans that I wore
yesterday underneath. And then I put on
a little headscarf cuz my hair is just
uncontrollable. Walking to Panaia
Rosetta. That bakery was all over my for
you page after looking up Mexico City
spots and everyone like raves about it.
Okay, I'm excited for this bread and
coffee.
See the line?
>> Yes. Yes.
A hot latte, please. [music] Just whole
milk.
Yes.
>> Like guava jam. Not too sweet.
National Art Museum. So, the bed and
breakfast owner was telling me about
this statue that's in front of the
National Art Museum. And the horse is
famous because it's got very big.
Feel like a princess.
I wish this was my house.
You're so cute.
I'm back in my neighborhood cuz I just
thought it'd be safer to hang out here
just in case there's like too much
traffic on the way back. I had some more
stores saved. So, I'm going to eye shop
a bit and then have my last meal in
Mexico City and then go home.
So sad.
Close.
Can see
in Mexico.
Ah, wow.
[laughter]
>> We're bunching.
My last meal will be tacos. I passed by
here last time and saw that there was a
line, so I wanted to try it.
[music]
Dr. Mix [music]
It was a little salty for my taste. I
wish I went with like a locals so I know
what to order because all I know is
taco, but I wanted to try the other
stuff, but I didn't know what was good.
Also, like when you're traveling alone,
you can't finish everything. So, you
can't be too greedy with food.
I'm just walking around this
neighborhood and I just love how lush
Mexico City is. They have this plant
growing in the middle of the street.
Look at this. Wow. When you're walking
in Mexico City, make sure to look at the
ground that you're walking on because
there are a lot of like bumps and like
drops all of a sudden. So I almost
tripped and fell like five times. Look
straight.
>> No, you look great for your
>> Oh, that's a really really honor for
someone from your country that they have
the Korean girls. They have such a
lovely skin.
>> Yes.
>> Thank you.
>> So you're leaving us today?
>> Yeah.
>> It's too bad.
>> I know. It's too short.
>> You should stay a few more days.
>> I wish.
>> You have to work?
>> Not really.
>> So [laughter]
>> I have to hurry.
You're young and beautiful.
>> I'll come back.
>> Yeah, come back.
>> When's the best time to come?
>> Now.
>> Weatherwise, it's not It gets a bit
cooler and the traffic becomes congested
in December.
>> Oh.
Time to say goodbye to CVMX.
Seriously, time went by so fast here.
I'm definitely definitely coming back
for sure. And I'm going to rave about
Mexico City to everybody because I think
everyone should come here. Love Mexico
City. The service at this bed and
breakfast was phenomenal. They were so
kind, so accommodating, so helpful. I'm
just waiting for my Uber. I'm like kind
of low energy because my cramps are
really bad right now. I just took pills,
so hopefully I'll be okay soon. [sighs]
and see you in soul.
[music]
