Video summary

The upcoming release of NoPixel 5 marks a monumental shift in the Grand Theft Auto V roleplay community, driven by a historic collaboration between NoPixel Studios and Rockstar Games. This partnership signifies that NoPixel will transition from a standard private server to an officially supported project hosted directly on the Rockstar launcher, requiring whitelisting for access. This integration promises a significant leap in stability and polish, moving away from the notorious "spaghetti code" and frequent desyncs that have plagued previous iterations. By leveraging Rockstar's backend support and enhanced graphics engine, NoPixel 5 aims to deliver a seamless, next-generation roleplaying experience that serves as a refined precursor to the anticipated GTA 6 release. A major focus of this update is the complete overhaul of the game world, particularly in Los Santos and Blaine County, which now benefits from the visual improvements found in GTA V Enhanced. The map has been expanded with entirely new districts, including a vibrant East Asian-themed redesign of Cypress Flats featuring over 150 new buildings, sky bridges, and pedestrian populations to boost immersion. Notably, Cornwood is returning to the map on September 8th, bringing back iconic locations like the casino, which is now fully enterable with functioning floors, offices, and a nightclub. The update also introduces a tiered housing system starting in Vinewood for new characters, offering customizable apartments and houses where players can control lighting, switches, and decor through a redesigned editor, while eliminating teleportation mechanics in favor of realistic movement via stairs and elevators. Beyond environmental changes, NoPixel 5 introduces substantial gameplay mechanics and narrative elements that deepen the roleplaying experience. The Vinewood Penitentiary has been relocated to a new location with improved lighting and reflections, and the game will feature more physical police raids rather than relying solely on scripted events. The update also brings back whitelisted jobs for high-performing players, addressing past controversies by establishing a meritocratic system where managers are earned through performance rather than arbitrary assignment. With over 750 unique apartments, hundreds of customizable homes, and the return of beloved locations like the Burger Shot and Span TV, NoPixel 5 represents the culmination of nearly three years of development, aiming to set a new standard for what is possible in GTA V roleplay before the eventual launch of GTA 6.

Now, this is right before Blizzcon. Can you analyze the trailer? Okay. Well, I mean, look at some of the stuff in the trailer. I mean, it play the trailer plays more like a movie than anything, right? So, like if you go back and you look at it first off, what's the first thing that you guys notice watching the trailer? Actually, let me see what Let me see. Cornwood. Why they make Cornwood look like here? >> Beautiful city. >> Cadet, this was a goddamn disgrace. >> Whose forehead is this? What is that hairline? >> I was told to say I have an alibi. >> [music] >> So, look at this. You got the prison. I mean, this is one of the big things. Like, look at this. So, the prison is probably going to be way more fleshed out, at least showing off in the trailer. Like, that's one of the things is like they didn't know what to do with the prison for the longest time. >> From days of the factory, [music] >> the factory and the construction work and stuff like there was no construction work before. So, like maybe there's going to be like some construction working and like some some stuff like this >> at our fabulous entertainment venue. >> There's a lot of club [music] stuff going on. Whatever. You hope to find >> an extravagant indulgences. >> Hot air balloons. Are they adding hot air balloons? Is that a new thing? Like a new vehicle? >> Chemicals and a suspicious amount of cash were found at the scene. >> Look at this police raid. I wonder if I wonder if like raiding a place and like actually going cuz we had to like RP a lot of that stuff out before. Maybe it's going to be like a lot more like physical. So here's here's the thing that people don't know about Noixel. So Rockstar Noixel is a private server. So let's put this in the wild terms. No pixel is a private server and what Rockstar did Blizzard they decided to start working with the private servers and they and Noixel is the first one they've decided to work with. So the game is going to be like on the Rockstar launcher. Okay. You have to get whitelisted all this stuff. Yeah. Actually that is that is an insanely big deal. So they were like hey you guys make such a good product. Let's work together on this. And now you have the support on the back end of everything else. Like hey Rockstar you have rockstar support. You have rockstar devs working with no pixel devs in order to hey we do this thing. Let's make it happen. Let's make it happen. Let's hardcode it in the game so it's not like janky spaghetti code with a constant crashing. Like how many times were we doing something in RP and then oh my head popped? I'm sure you're going to have some sort of stuff like desync and I'm sure some of that stuff is going to still exist because it's just like online and whatever. But I think it's going to be a lot more polished than any RP server that you've ever seen. Now I think with that there's going to be some obstacles. Some things are going to be different than what we're used to. 100%. Some things are definitely going to be different than what we're used to, but it's going to be so much more polished that hopefully it just works out. I mean, I think the trailer turned out great. Trailer turned out super good. I mean, the casino is going to be open here. You got Chatterbox doing the robbing. You got a lot of car modification stuff. You got the casino. Uh, XQC is constantly in casino clips. You got Will's character, Marco St. Marco, here at the art gallery. Yeah, I mean, it's going to be fun, dude. It's going to be very, very fun. You got Ramaswami and Buddha. It's going to be a fun time, man. It really is. So, let's read their their press release here. Development update number one, major changes to the map. Okay, so Noixel 5 is the culmination of nearly 3 years of development built to top the foundation of previous Noixel releases. We're excited to share with you what we've been working on, how we got here. Collaboration with Rockstar Games has been an important part of bringing this release to life. Since the start of No Pixel 5, our teams have worked together to develop new capabilities, refine a set of developmental tools which have enabled us to push the boundaries of what's possible in Grand Theft Auto 5. We're grateful for their contributions and proud of our work together. Over the course of this week, we'll share a series of development updates that illustrate what you can expect to see in No Pixel 5. So, essentially what you're seeing is like, hey, this is GTA 5's Magnum Opus. That is what the goal is. GTA 6 is coming. Let's put together the most well polished, awesome GTA 5 RP server before eventually someday you go to you go to GTA 6 RP, right? Because it is going to be at least a year. That's the general idea. Something that makes the No Pixel experience unique is that all of our systems and assets are produced in-house by a team of passionate developers at Noixel Studios. In this development update, we're going to take a closer look at the major changes we made to the GTA 5 map in Noixel 5. So, here's what I think. By the way, I'm going to go ahead and say this. I think GTA 5, no pixel 5, they changed how they name things, right? So, they used to call it 5.0, 4.0, 3.0. I think this will be the last GTA 5, no pixel server. They're calling it No Pixel 5. And then eventually they'll come out with no pixel 6 for GTA 6. I think it'll be No Pixel 6 eventually. And then there won't be like a 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, whatever. I think they might do just patches for six. Now, what they might do is they might call like 6.1 or 6.2 2 or something. People still think GTA 6RP is going to launch 2 3 years after PC. Man, I think that would be crazy. I think it'll be 2 years from now. They're talking about this also as well as how we're approaching 3D environment work. Uh for No Pixel 5, our goal was to overhaul and refresh the existing world by enriching it with new locations. We updated many aspects of the GTA 5 map and reworked existing assets and textures, all tailored to create an immersive next level roleplay experience. We designed new buildings, added entire districts, refined interiors, and even updated simple props and plants. We committed to go further than we ever have before. No Pixel 5 benefits from the graphical updates that came with GTA V enhanced. Okay, so that's another thing. It's going to be based in GTA V enhanced instead of base GTA 5, which this is the first time that's happened. You're going to see like better like all the better graphics, better lighting, all the stuff that came with GTA V enhanced. It won't be base GTA V. So to bring new vibes to the city, a lot of areas have been updated, heavily modified, or even entirely replaced and will give you, the players, the possibility to discover completely new environments. On top of that, everything will be seamless and freely enterable. Okay, so everything is going to be enterable. Just all the buildings are going to be open. There are no teleports, just stairs, doors, and functioning elevators. Okay. Oh, so anything that you can enter is just going to be open. There's no more teleporting elevators, none of that. Besides many new locations, many of our existing no pixel resources have been overhauled and reworked to show their full potential in combination with new graphical features present in GTA 5 enhanced. A major overhaul of these are all the areas that have had major overhauls. So downtown, look at downtown. This thing is beautiful. Beautiful, beautiful downtown Los Santos. This is the downtown district. As you may know from 4.0, we turned Legion Square into Legion Park, which is connected to the memorial park next to it. If you take a closer look, you can see that most buildings surrounding the park have been replaced with new detailed apartment and business buildings, new back alleys and parking lots that give everything a more modern and fresh look. A new network of stairs and sky bridges added verticality to the district. Look at that. Cool. Cypress Flats. The revamp of Cypress Flats is the biggest exterior change that we at Noixel have ever made. This was an industrial area that has been turned into two vibrant color and highly detailed districts designed in modern East Asian theme. Look at that. The genetron. Okay, they're Chinatown. Wow, dude. Look at that. Look at the lighting. You see that? That looks sick. These new areas in Cypress Flats consist of more than 150 entirely new buildings situated along a completely new street grid filled with back alleys, walking paths, ladders, parks, and of course, some interiors here and there. Cypress Flats, like other custom areas, will include pedestrian populations throughout the neighborhood, adding a new level of immersion to GTA roleplay. This was a massive collaborative project undertaken by three of our 3D developers that took 15 months to complete. Oh my gosh. Pixel area. Wow, look at that. In No Pixel 4.0, we replaced the Mile High Club construction site with a new residence, the Pixel Tower with a casino next to it. As so often happens in development, it became bigger than planned. In No Pixel 5, the casino is enterable and now includes a fully functioning casino floor, as well as offices, a nightclub, and an underground parking garage. Look at that. Soda's new job. Is this going to be Soda's job? Is he going to be in charge? I'm so glad they're adding whitelisted jobs back. I think they got rid of the whitelisted jobs because of dramas. I think because people would complain that certain people would be given given certain jobs. But you know what? It's a meritocracy. You earn it. You know, if they're like, "Hey, this person is a good fit for this job." Whit list them. Say, "Hey, this is this is the manager. This is the guy that's going to be the guy." Because remember how much weird like, "Oh, this guy's the manager. That guy's the manager was at the beginning of 4.0." It was like super weird. Like, it's so good. Soda owns the casino. Nice. Ownable properties. Okay, so they're going to have different tiers of apartments. Tier one apartments in Vinewood near Vinewood Boulevard. Two huge buildings in a garage give space to 240 small apartments with balconies all seamlessly connected and freely enterable. This is the first home for every new character in No Pixel. Okay, so everybody's going to start in Vinewood. So when you when you create a new character, it starts here. Tier 2 apartments and no pixel 5. Pixel Tower is one of two buildings that include 264 tier Oh, wait, no, sorry, not Pixel Tower. Tier 2 apartment buildings are located around the redesigned downtown. On multiple floors across two buildings, you can find 251 individual freely enterable apartments. Each apartment boasts around 1,700 square feet of space waiting for you to decorate and make your own. It's funny cuz it's like, how do you quantify that? You know, like you don't know exactly what how many square feet. It's not like real life, you know? >> Tier three apartments. These are the ones in Pixel Tower. More than 3,000 square feet. These are the tier three apartments. These look nice. On top of the 75, excuse me, 755 unique apartments, there's also more than 250 houses. Houses, trailers, they can be owned, decorated, furnished, and individualized by the players. Wow, look at that. All tier 2 and three apartments, as well as housing properties, are customizable. With a completely redesigned editor system for No Pixel 5, you can place all kinds of furniture and decorative elements in your home through the editor. For example, now you can link lights to switches to have working lights to turn off and on in every house. Okay, cool. Yeah, different you can Yeah. All kinds of stuff. Switches, lights, colors, everything. So, these are storage units. If you want to start your first business out of a garage, hide some contraband from curious eyes or simply store your goods. We've got you covered with an entire self- storage facility. Fidget. Cool. Okay. The storage facility. Beyond these interiors, you'll find many more locations for you to discover and enjoy. The burger shot. They're bringing back the burger, dude. Bringing back the burger shot. Vinewood Penitentiary. Oh my gosh. Look at the lighting. Look at the reflection in the in the water. This looks sick. This looks so good, man. From new restaurants to the brand new city jail or the scrapyard. There are so many more locations waiting to be found. What those are, we won't tell you. Find out an RP. It says find out an RP. Smile. They move the prison. Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Development update number one. This says build for the next generation of roleplay. Wow. The roster invited players. So they've invited 448 players. Cornwood. Span TV. Cletus Cornwood. Coming soon, Chad. Coming soon. In one week, chat. In one week, Cornwood returns. Big corn coming hot. One week, man. Why didn't they wait for GTA 6? Because it's going to take them forever to develop it after GTA 6 comes out. And it's GTA 6 isn't coming on PC for at least a year. Maybe a Cornwood plushy. What would we do with that? There's a snake in my boot. Make Cornwood plushy with a hole in it. I I don't think we're going to do a Cornwood plushy. Yeah, never mind. I'll see you guys September 8th. Cornwood's coming back September 8th. You don't want to miss it.
