Video summary
The video presents a critical review of several makeup launches from 2026 that the creator considers to be among the worst of the year so far. While acknowledging that the current market generally offers fewer truly terrible products, the reviewer argues that this specific period is defined by "mid" quality items rather than exceptional ones. The discussion begins with the Maybelline Lifter foundation and concealer, which are heavily criticized for their poor longevity. Although the foundation feels light upon application, it breaks down quickly around the mouth area, leaving a cakey appearance after just a few hours. The accompanying concealer is deemed even worse, described as extremely dry and prone to severe creasing that makes the under-eye area look aged almost immediately.
Continuing with base products, the creator expresses deep disappointment in the About Face Illusionist Skin Focus Concealer, noting a stark inconsistency between its excellent foundation counterpart and this poor-performing concealer. The product fails to maintain coverage once blended, drying out and shrinking around the eyes rather than smoothing them. Similarly, the Makeup Revolution Powder Pops are faulted for being excessively dry and moisture-sucking, which emphasizes fine lines and texture issues on the skin. The review also targets the Kosas Shiny Object highlighters, which despite looking beautiful in swatches, appear chunky and glittery when applied to the face, failing to blend smoothly and instead highlighting facial imperfections.
The critique extends to various other categories including eyeshadow sticks, lip products, and setting powders. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Glider Shadow Sticks are singled out as particularly dry and unflattering, requiring heavy layering of other products just to make them wearable. Lip products receive equally harsh treatment; the Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Shimmer is dismissed as a useless glitter stick that offers little payoff for its price, while the Too Faced Chocolate Soul pencils are found to fade too quickly and lack versatility beyond lip lining. Furthermore, the CoverGirl Atlas lip stain in the shade Honey Sculpt is described as heinous due to its shifting yellow-orange hue on natural lips, and the House Labs Atomic Shake Lip Lacquer is criticized for drying out the lips and emphasizing every line despite its shiny finish.
Finally, the video addresses the controversial CoverGirl Yummy Big Oil Sticks, which sparked debate over their intended use for cheeks versus lips. The creator argues that using such a sheer oil layer on the cheeks is impractical and pointless, especially given the bulky packaging that consumes significant storage space in a purse. Despite the collection of failures presented, the reviewer concludes that while these specific products are disappointing and often unusable for daily wear, they do not represent a complete disaster year for makeup. The video serves as a cautionary guide for consumers to avoid these specific items while acknowledging that better alternatives exist in the market.

the worst makeup of 2026
so far. This is all makeup that I pretty
much hate. I was, you know, overlooking
what I've tried so far this year. Of
course, because I did just post the best
makeup of 2026 so far if you are looking
for something more positive. But of
course, while searching through what
I've tested this year, I also pulled out
some of the worst. Now, overall, my
thoughts on the 2026 launches so far,
not a bad year of makeup. I actually
don't have a ton of products that I
absolutely loathe. But it's also not a
good year for makeup either. It's the
year of mid makeup so far. So, I don't
know. I've been saying this. I feel like
the makeup labs, they're getting good.
Like it is hard to find horrible makeup
nowadays, which is a good thing. But
that I've tried so many products. Of
course, there are products that I do
absolutely not like. So, I'm going to
share some of the worst with you today.
And as always, these are just my
opinions. You are free to love these
products. And if you do disagree with
me, oh my gosh, feel free to fight me
down in the comments respectfully.
[laughter]
I get it. You know, there's products
that a lot of people don't like that I
love, but these they did not work out
for me. So, let's go ahead and get
started. And I know some of you are
going to fight me about these because
these are a pair that went very very
viral and I don't I don't get why. It is
the Maybelline Lifter foundation and
concealer. Now, the better of the two is
the foundation. You'll see she is thick.
Like, the foundation when I first put it
on, it really isn't bad at all. It feels
nice, light, and airy. So, it is going
to look good today. I was looking at all
of the foundations that I've tried this
year, and hey, the foundations have been
pretty good this year. There haven't
been any horror stories really. This one
is one of the worst horror stories and
it's truly not that bad. It just doesn't
have great wear. It breaks up especially
around my mouth within a few hours and
it just doesn't wear down very nice and
it ended up looking cakey and all broken
up at the end of the day. So, I
definitely don't like that because when
it comes to foundation, the wear is
extremely important. And this one just
doesn't deliver on that front. But when
it's first applied, honestly, it doesn't
look bad and it feels nice and
lightweight. But I can't stand to have
this on my face for more than 3 hours
because it prematurely breaks up just
comparing it to how my other foundations
wear. So I if I have dry skin and this
is breaking up on me, I can't even
imagine having oily skin. So if it
doesn't wear well on me, I don't know
that it's going to wear well on many
other people. So if you want a
foundation that's going to fool you and
it's going to look really good at the
beginning of the day and then look
really bad just halfway through the day,
this is the one for you. And I mean, I'm
even looking at it right now, like it
just it doesn't sit on this skin like I
like my foundations to sit. So, it's
just kind of there. The thing with my
videos now, you guys, when I film my
video, this is the makeup that I'm
pretty much wearing for the rest of the
day because this is the only window I
have when my baby is sleeping to film
these videos. So, I'm going to try to
make this makeup look good. Next up, I
have two concealers. So, I'm going to
put one on each eye. Obviously, we have
the Maybelline Lifter Concealer, which
is even worse than the foundation,
actually. Like 10 times worse than the
foundation. I mean, I talked about I
talked about the foundation wearing bad.
This wears even more terribly. It is
extremely creasy. It will age you in a
matter of hours. And every time I wear
this, I'm like, "Oh, I need like Botox
or something." because yeah, this is not
flattering. And it's a drier concealer
as well, so it looks dry on my under
eyes. Side note, just for concealer
application lately, I've been enjoying
using my BK Beauty concealer brush on my
under eyes and then taking my beauty
blender just to I don't know, almost
warm it into the skin, massage it out,
get rid of the excess product. But see
it. It looks dry already on initial
application, especially in the inner
corner area. Like this is horrible. It's
dry and then it will continue to just
like shrivel up your eyes. Do not buy
this. Like the foundation, I feel like I
can make it work. I can stand it at
least for the first few hours. The
concealer, I cannot. It's awful. This
one I almost didn't put in this video
because like it's not the worst thing to
have touched my face, but it is a big
fat disappointment. This is from about
face. It's their illusionist skin
focused concealer and I just think one
of the reasons I am so disappointed in
this concealer because it is not its
foundation counterpart. So the
illusionist foundation from about face
is absolutely
fantastic. It's one of my favorites. So,
I had high expectations for this and I
thought it was going to be related to
the foundation, right? And it just isn't
to me. This concealer, once again, is a
lot more dry. Now, when I first apply it
onto the skin, I'm like, "Ooh, so milky
and and creamy, just like the
foundation, but then I blend it out, it
completely loses the coverage. It's
looks dry and then just like the
Maybelline,
it creases. It just does not remind me
of the foundation at all, which makes me
really sad. And I don't need a full
coverage concealer by any means. I don't
mind a light coverage concealer, but the
coverage on this just completely
disappears. It's not like the
foundation. Okay, I wanted it to be like
the foundation. It is not. I don't
recommend this concealer. It's not the
worst thing I've put on my under eyes,
but I really am holding a grudge against
this concealer because it could have
been so great if it was anything like
the foundation. Like this I was
expecting to kind of be like Natasha
Denona High Glam because to me that's
how the foundation feels. But yeah, it's
just not. It looks okay right now, but
it also doesn't wear well. It probably
didn't deserve a spot in this video, but
like I said, I'm holding a grudge from
it and I needed to say my piece. Next
product that I have is from Makeup
Revolution. This is their powder pops
which had so much potential. I loved the
idea of this. The execution
soul sucking, moisture sucking. This
came in those trendy colors like you
this brightening shade. They also had
pink. They also had yellow. The color
correcting tones. But baby, this is so
dry looking. You can literally with this
see the powder particles sitting on the
skin. It sucks the moisture out of the
skin and then it emphasizes fine lines.
And then baby, if you have any texture,
if you have any dry patches, this
emphasizes it. Just goes on and shows
off that dryness that you have going on.
So, I should probably use this a little
more sparingly. But anyways, I just
wanted to show you. I'm trying to find
that balance of trying to make my makeup
actually look good, but also show the
truth, the horror behind the products,
especially on the nose now. It just
looks so powdery. Hopefully, a good
setting spray will fix this. But it
literally sits on top of the skin, looks
dry and powdery, and attaches itself to
texture and dryness that you did not
know was there before. So, if that
sounds fantastic to you, go ahead and
pick those up. We're We're doing okay
right now. I just did my bronzer and
blush, which I didn't have any that were
horrible for the year. So, the base is
looking
like not a good makeup day, but it's
fine. Okay, so I'm going to finish off
with highlighter. And I just did not
understand the hype on these Kosas shiny
object powder highlighters. I mean, I
want you to just look at the texture of
this product. This is how textured it
makes my face look when I apply it. It
also grabs on to my base and just looks
chunky and unflattering. And I thought,
okay, at the very least, like I can use
these on the eyes, which is true. But
you see how pretty it looks on my
finger. It just doesn't translate like
that on the eyelid. It is a big fat
disappointment. I got every shade in PR
and you know I don't like the product
when I don't hold on to every shade. I
normally will only hold on to two shades
because I give two shades a chance,
right? So I'll try the one shade and
I'll be like, I'm not loving it and then
I'll I'll reconfirm with a second shade
just to make sure it's not that first
shade. But by swatch, you know, I don't
understand. These look so pretty. But
with application, first of all, it's
hard panned already. It's one of those
products that hard pans so easily. And I
just all I see is glitter right now. I'm
being a bit dramatic, but like it's
glittery. You see it emphasizing my
texture. It looks chunky. Like I feel
like I can see the chunks of product. It
is just the opposite of how it swatches,
which I don't understand. So yeah, this
is not a high performing product at all.
And I just feel like it's 2026
highlighters.
Labs can create a good one with their
eyes closed. So
what the heckers is this? This feels
very outdated to me. I think, you know,
they tried to make a trendy formula, but
the performance of it looks outdated and
old to me just with how it's emphasizing
the texture on the face, how there are
literally glitter chunks. Like, who
wants glitter? You know, the next two
products I have are actually glittery,
but a little bit more intentionally
glittery. This is just it's not it. It's
not doing it for me. I feel bad putting
these in this video, but these are the
most creasy things [laughter and gasps]
that I've ever put on my eyelid. These
are from Beauty Creations. These are the
Flawless Stay Shimmer Veils, and I
really wanted to like these because
these were a potential dupe for the
Fenty version of these, but the
performance is just it's not the same.
It's not as good. It has, you know, that
putty consistency. Honestly, it's quite
fun to play with and they're very, very
pretty. And you know what? If you like
to use a product like this for body,
this is fine. You will enjoy it. It
actually is a very good dupe of Fenty in
that way. But what I like about the
Fenty is the versatility of it. For me,
being the old person that I am, the only
place I'm putting glitter really is on
my eyelid for the daily, right? There's
been very very few occasions where I'd
cover my body in glitter since I hit the
age past 22. But anyways, so for me,
where I'm putting a product like this is
on the eyelids. And these are so oily.
You can actually almost feel them in the
swatch here. They crease like crazy on
me. And I don't have oily eyelids. So,
you know, a product is extremely creasy
[gasps] when it creases on me. So, I
find this product pretty unusable and
unwarable for my uses. Again, if you
just put it all over the body and the
chest, you'll be fine with this. But I
was looking forward to using these on
the eyes, which is where I also like to
use the Fenty, and the Fenty doesn't get
creasy. This one does. So,
unfortunately, using it how I use it,
the performance was awful. This next
product I wouldn't recommend for
anybody. There's not a soul that this is
worth purchasing. So, this is from Milk
Makeup. What is this even? the cooling
water jelly shimmer. It seems like they
really hit the viral jackpot when it
came to the cooling jelly blushes. So
then they came out with this useless
glitter stick, okay, in the jelly form.
And let me just show you. Okay, so these
glitters at least show up from beauty
creations.
There is like three specks of glitter on
my arm right now. And milk makeup is not
cheap. So, what are you going to do with
this? I don't even Is it supposed to be
for the face? I tried it on the eyes. It
just mushed my eyeshadow together. The
face is going to mess up my makeup. And
on the body, like there's barely
anything. There are so many better
products out there. And like the beauty
creations I feel bad about because you
know what? It's affordable and you can
make it work. This is a product that you
can't even make work and it's not even
affordable. So, I think the demo spoke
in of itself. It's like like what the
heck is is going on here? Now, you know,
this is the year of eyeshadow sticks for
me. And so, also for brands, okay,
they've been launching a lot of
eyeshadow sticks. And um Anastasia
Beverly Hills, ABH managed to launch
probably the worst eyeshadow stick I've
ever tried. Definitely at the price
point they are selling them. And I was
excited about these because the colors
they had were phenomenal. These are the
glider shadow sticks. These couldn't be
any more unflattering and unworkable. I
mean, truly, these are dry. They look
dry. Like, I'm thinking, how am I going
to make these work today? I'm going to
start off with the shade lilac pearl.
Come a little closer.
Like, what?
Not smooth. They're tugging at my
eyelid.
[sighs]
Like
so dry looking. No, honestly like
I've specifically kept these sticks
around in my collection just to show you
just for these worst of videos and it
will stay in my collection till the end
of the year for the end of the year
favorites because I know these are going
for the end of the year worst products
because I know these are going to be in
here as well. How disgusting does this
look? Chunky, dry, awful.
All right. And I thought this was going
to be the prettiest shade. Okay. I am
going to try and fix it. Going to take
my little brush. I'm going to
blend out these edges.
[snorts]
There's no saving this. Okay. Okay. And
then I'm going to use amethyst.
Let us blend this out.
Okay, this is
just skip these. Skip these by all
means. These are actually one of the
worst
eyeshadow sticks that I've ever used.
They're the most unflattering and
horrible looking. Like this is the best
I could do. Truly,
this is the one that's just gonna ruin
the look. I guess this is a web. I'm
going to go in with, believe it or not,
even though I don't like this product,
[gasps] I'm going to go in with the
shiny objects by Kosas just right over
top to try and pretend like this
this monstrosity
did not happen.
Okay,
we're just going to literally cover that
up. And you know it's bad when this
makes the makeup look better. Like look
how much smoother that looks
automatically.
It's not my eyelids. It's this product.
Now, I was thinking I know I've tried
bad mascaras this year, but I truly
could not remember the bad mascaras. So,
I know the one of the ones from Milani
that I tried was not good, but can't
remember. So, I'm going to fix this a a
little bit. Nothing crazy. I'm going to
leave this as the base, but I'm going to
put on a little bit of
some real eyeliner and mascara. And I
think
that will fix this up a little bit. A
little mascara, a little liner. We saved
it. The next product that I have is from
Too Faced. These are the chocolate sole
sculpting and defining pencils. Now,
these I think are Too Faced version of
the Makeup Forever Artistry Pencils. So,
they're multi-use. You don't have to use
them just on the lips, but the lips is
the only place these are appropriate.
So, these are some of the shades that I
have. Obviously, uh chocolate inspired.
These are very odd colors to use other
than the lips. I've tried these as
liners. They fade away too easily. Like
they don't set. You don't want an
eyeliner that's not going to set. Uh
I've tried them on the face. What am I
gonna do with these skinny little
pencils? So the only decent shade to use
on the face is chocolate sule. And
you're going to run through this pencil
so fast if you like draw it on your
face. So the only way that I really
could use this
I would say is as a nose contour.
And you can draw directly down, but I
think using the BK 205 brush is going to
be the best use for that. So, that's
like about the only thing I'd use these
for. And then the problem with using
them as lip liner is they really don't
last at all. Like, they're fine. They
can get the job done if you need a
little bit of color, but these pencils
to me have proven pretty worthless,
honestly. I mean, if I were to
pack these with me, like, I'm not using
these as bronzer. I'm not using this as
a lip liner, a nose door, and a bronzer.
So, yeah, the shades for being multi-use
are weird. Chocolate soule is the only
good one, and they will fade. So yeah,
you can use chocolate soule kind of as a
background like how I just did, but
don't waste your money on these. I do
think the Makeup Forever version of
these are a lot better. Next up, this
one's like more of a shade problem that
I have because this is heinous. This is
the CoverGirl Atlas lip stain in the
shade Honey Sculpt. Let me show you the
pictures online of this color. Okay. And
even the packaging, right, it turns like
yellowy orange.
So,
do not even consider letting this touch
your lips. You can see in the tiniest
little bit, it's turning pure yellow.
So,
the shade is horrendous.
When it comes to these markers, the way
that they look on the skin is going to
look different when they hit your actual
lips. And I have quite pigmented natural
lips. So,
I don't love lip markers because they
completely change in hue,
but like this shade is so awful. It's so
off-putting and it does not look like
what they advertised at all. So, I
really really dislike that. I tried to
[snorts] like make it somewhat
presentable, but it's like the most
awful yellowy orange shade. And then
this is actually one of the most
disgusting, heinous looking things I put
on my lips.
So, this is the MAC like squirt formula
where it's that balm gloss hybrid. Well,
it's a gloss in a stick form. And so,
they launched this new shimmer
collection of iridescent shades. What do
they call these? the squirt plumping
gloss sticks and I got the whole
collection. I kept two because the two
were so ugly and they sell like blue and
these sold out. That's the thing that
I'm like who's buying these because
these sold out. The formula is fine but
these colors they are too pigmented. So
I'm going to use Squirt Sparks
the name. I'm sorry. Anyways, which is
the green look.
It's It's great. So, I imagine if you
get the blue, it's blue. The pink The
pink is pink. So, the formula is fine.
What do I look like wearing this? This
is awful. The color range of this awful.
Hideous. I put this on, I was like,
"What on earth? Why didn't they warn
me?" Because I mean, I know, right? You
put on something green, duh. But a lot
of times with makeup like this
iridescent stuff, it's like a very
subtle shimmer and it's really just for
the fun of it and to hydrate the lips.
Now, this is green. So, I suppose if you
want green iridescent lips, go for it.
But I'm absolutely shocked that these
sold out. And I think they are very
ugly. That's just my opinion. Maybe you
can rock green lips, but this is me
disparaging myself. The green lips don't
work on me. The next product that I have
is from House Labs. This is quite
popular and I just cannot vibe with it.
This is the Atomic Shake Lip Lacquer
from House Labs. I just find this
product to be very unflattering on my
lips. So, the name of this is sheer
blush. There's nothing sheer about this.
It smells chemically. It lowkey burns.
And it's supposed to be like a vinyl
lip, right? So, it's intended to be
shiny but last a long time. But this
once it dries, you guys, it it dries out
my lips and then emphasizes every single
line on the lips. So, if you love the
idea of this, like long lasting but has
a little bit of shine, do not waste your
money on House Labs. Buy the Maybelline
vinyl ink. Those are really, really,
really good and much more flattering
than the House Labs. Like 20 billion
times more flattering than the House
Labs. I just can't get over the name of
this being sheer blush because what is
sheer about this? Like, look.
It actually is looking decent today, but
on most days it's not flattering. Like I
don't want this on my lips. I hate when
that happens. When I'm trying to make a
point and then the makeup wants to like
look kind of good, but just take my word
for it, okay? I've demoed it before and
you've seen it where it emphasizes every
line. Anyways,
I'm excited about the next product cuz
it's funny. It's a little controversial
right now. Okay, the last product that I
have to talk about are these guys, which
I tried last month. These are the
CoverGirl Yummy Big Oil Sticks. I mean,
it it only just launched, but like I
talked about this last month, but right
now they're going through a little bit
of controversy because Michaela, she on
a Tik Tok used these as a blush and then
CoverGirl was like, "That's not how you
eat it." Um because it's for the lips.
But like
I remember when I got like I don't want
to like stand up for her completely, but
like in the distance I got to stand up
for her because what do you mean this
isn't for the cheeks? What do you mean
this isn't for the cheeks? Now when I
got this in PR last month, I remember
even keeping the they give like a a
little cardboard piece of paper just for
info and stuff. I remember keeping that
with me and like reading through it to
see how you use this and if it's for the
cheeks and lips and I think I threw mine
away now, but it's must have only said
lips because I rewatched my demo. I only
use it for the lips, but I was like,
"What the heck?" And I remember getting
this and being kind of confused. But
yeah, don't use this on the cheeks
because it's oil. And I did see there
are some uh displays at Walmart or there
were some displays at Walmart that
advertise these for cheeks and lips, but
these are very obviously when you feel
them for the lips. And like
it's fine. It's like a sheer layer of
oil.
A little hydrating, but it just doesn't
make sense because you're telling me if
I'm using this stupid sheer little oil
layer here with a tiny little bit of
color, which just is so stupid useless.
You think I'm going to put this in my
purse? I can't fit this in my pocket.
This is going to take up half the purse.
When I went to pull these for the video,
like this took up half my drawer between
the two of them. This is not good for
storage either. So dumb. So so dumb. And
I was swatching like my first impression
on this. And I was like, what? What is
this? Why? It's like all this all this
real estate for this. The product
itself, even though this isn't the worst
of video, it's like not horrible, but it
doesn't warrant this much real estate.
The packaging, everything about it is
just like it doesn't make sense. It's a
gag. It's a gag. It feels like a gag.
Anyways, all right, you guys. That is
all I have for today's video. This
[laughter]
is a full face of products that I think
just were the worst launches of this
year. Luckily, since I didn't have like
a complete full full face of terrible
products, the makeup turned out wearable
for the rest of the day. But I probably
will be itching to take this off in a
few hours. But like I said before, if
you love these products, feel free to
let me know in the comments. Share why
you like these products. But if you want
products that I do recommend, I did just
a few days ago upload the best makeup of
2026. But of course, I had to round it
out with the worst makeup of 2026 so
far. And yeah, these ones are taking the
cake. They're not great, but it's not
the worst year of makeup, honestly.
Like, these products, most of them were
workable. But anyways, these are the
products that I've been hating the most
this year. I hope you guys enjoyed this
video and found it entertaining. And I
will have these products linked down
below, not for you to shop. I always get
comments like, "Why would you you're
just trying to make money." Like, no, I
have to link these anyways for my
husband to edit these and make my
thumbnails. And so, I just copy and
paste them down below. I'll have them
linked down below, but don't chop them
if you want to look at the I don't know
why you would click on them. Anyways,
I'll see you in the next video. Bye,
guys. Have a good one. It's delicious.
