overall has been such a strength for
this team all season long. Just what
made that Astros lineup so so tough to
navigate through tonight?
>> Yeah, I mean they beat our guys tonight.
So, you know, you got to you got to give
them some credit there.
And they got us for slug, a couple long
balls that
got us.
You know, Diaz obviously hurt us.
Yordan,
you know, big homer by
by [clears throat] Peña there to to tie
it as well. So,
um
you know,
we kept answering for the most part too,
but
you know, they just did a little bit
more offensively tonight.
>> Cruz has had some hiccups lately. Just
what have you been seeing from him? Do
you think fatigue is all at all a factor
with him?
>> Yeah, I mean,
you know, that's always part of it at
this time of the year, but um
you know, he's just been hurt in some
situations.
Uh
you know, he's behind in some counts
where, you know, they've they've got a
pitch in their in their area and they
haven't missed it.
>> Hedrick has been excellent all year
long. We don't generally see him
struggle like that. Just what were you
seeing from him tonight?
>> Yeah, I thought I actually thought from
the side his stuff looked good. I
thought his split was good. Um
you know, Diaz
you know, Diaz got him. Looked like
little up up and away on the on the
plate. Um but overall I thought his
stuff was okay. They just you know, they
put together some good at bats against
him and and
you know, Diaz gets him for the for the
homer.

>> In the eighth that Wells at bat, is that
a spot where you want to see Jazz
attempt to steal to avoid the double
play?
>> Well, he's attempting to.
>> So, why did he why did he not
>> Well, we got to get a jump and, you
know, so
you know, it didn't it didn't come to
fruition there, but you know, we're
we're working at it there.
>> And then with Cruz he has a
over a five ERA since the All-Star
break. Is he someone that can trust in
high leverage at this point or
>> Yeah.
>> need to get him in lower spots?
>> Uh you know, he's in there in the you
know, fifth or sixth tonight. So, you
know, he's he's got to be part of the
equation. So,
um
you know, he's we still need him to get
big outs for us and you know, tonight
they got him when when he fell behind.

>> Aaron, tonight's appearance aside, do
you have
Hendricks' workload something that you
have to keep an eye on number of
appearances and innings?
>> Oh, yeah. I mean, we are now. You know,
I was
you know, tonight was a night I were
reluctant to even use him.
Um
you know, so we'll pick our spots to
where we get him a couple days. You
know, I think right now going into the
night he was four out of 10. So, he's
had some
you know, day off, pitch day off. Um
but yeah, we're paying attention to
that, of course.
>> Aaron.
>> Aaron, just kind of off of that, you
said reluctant to use him, but you had
him up several times before actually
going to him. How much do you factor the
ups into all of it?
>> Yeah, I had him up twice.
Um
yeah, I was just getting him up just in
case we were in a tie situation where I
needed him for Alvarez, but then as soon
as they hit the home run, I got him
down. So,
um
yeah, I mean, that always factors in a
little bit, but
um
it it wasn't a factor tonight.
>> And then on the offensive side, you guys
did put up some runs. Just what had
Garcia so locked in tonight?
>> Yeah, I mean,
I mean, he's got some serious thunder
coming through the zone. Um

>> I mean, he's a really good hitter. I
mean, you know, I'm
I hope our
you know,
our our fan base is starting to see, you
know, what a what a
live bat that we we got in here. And
he's he hits some balls really really
hard since he's been here and he's
capable of nights like this. Um
you know,
love love the second to last one. Really
good left on left at bat there where he
got the hanger and and drilled it into
the corner but he's got serious juice. I
think he's ready made for this ballpark
and
good to see him have that
a night like that.
