Aaron, what did you think of the way the
offense and really the team as a whole
bounced back tonight?
>> Yeah, really good. Good to see us do
something in the first inning, you know,
that's
kind of struggled to find that and um
you know, feel like lately we've we've
had a couple things mounting in the
first inning, haven't been able to cash
in and obviously,
you know, tonight Spencer Spencer gets
us going with the homer and then
um
you know, Jazz follows it up. So,
uh great job there getting out to a lead
and then um able to do some little
things late um some really good at-bats
to
to kind of tack on and and put the game
away ultimately, but yeah, good job by a
lot of different folks.
>> What did you think of Garrett tonight?
>> I thought Garrett was really good. Um I
thought they had a lot of good at-bats
against him. Um they did a good job over
there, you know, even even all the way
to the end with Moore. I thought he made
the pitch he kind of wanted to.
Moore's able to get to it and and put it
down the line to chase him, but I I I
thought Garrett was sharp. Um I thought
his stuff was really good. I thought it
was maybe maybe the best slider he's had
all year.
Um
but but also credit to the Angels for
for putting some pressure on him and and
you know, finding the barrel a number of
times, too, but he set us up to to go
win, got us got deep enough into that
game to kind of set us up to to go to
our guys and um so overall I thought he
was good.
>> As he works his way back to the old
Garrett, uh are there specific things
you're looking from him from start to
start?
>> Yeah, I don't know about working his way
back to old Garrett. I mean, he's been
great. So, he's throwing the heck out of
the ball. Uh I feel like he's in good
rhythm. He's sharp. Stuff's really good.
So,
um you know, we love where he's at and
and I think he's in a really good place.
>> What were you kind of seeing from him in
that sixth inning that kind of let you
know like maybe it's time to take him
out?
>> Yeah, I mean, they just you know, they
were pressuring with some good at-bats.
You know, I felt like they kind of did
it all night to some degree where he was
sharp and holding them down, but you
know, they were making them work and
they're finding the barrel some.
Meckler's done a really good job against
us and and got that inning starting. I
think
Biastero's got a maybe a two-strike base
hit up the middle and then Moore gets to
I thought an executed pitch there.
And and sometimes you got to tip your
cap there. So, probably getting towards
the end of the line, but but actually
felt like he was still sharp. I just
felt like um Hedrick was the guy there
to come in and you know, maybe
help get out of it there.
>> Another night where Jazz strikes in the
middle of things with three hits. You
feel like what you've seen over the last
couple weeks is encouraging.
>> Yes. Yeah.
We need it. You know, he's
you know, he's he's capable of impacting
the game in a profound way and and um
you know,
not a lot of guys are
hitting that ball out down the line here
like that. And then a really good
left-on-left at bat in that inning, you
know, where he smokes it the other way.
So,
yeah, he's he's doing good things and uh
we need it.
>> You you talked about the first inning,
the importance of that, especially after
the previous night's game where you
did
a lopsided loss to get that early run
there or three of them at the first.
>> Well, I mean it's always good,
especially you know, you got Garrett on
the mound and
and to throw a three spot up there right
away was was really good. So,
um
it was nice to see us, you know, cash in
cuz I feel like we've been starting to
flirt with it
and
even last night, I think we had two guys
on in that first inning and you know, I
think we hit a ball hard uh
ultimately to get out of that inning.
But so,
I like where we're going. We got We got
to keep it going.
>> Do you
feel that
kind of the offshoot of the rehabs and
the injuries is that your starting
pitching is kind of rested going into
the last few weeks of this season into
the playoffs?
>> Oh, I don't know. I don't I don't even
know if I look at it like that
necessarily. Um
we're just trying to get all these guys
in the best
place and rhythm and I think for the
most part they are. You know, they are
in in a good place and throwing the ball
well as a group and um we got to
continue to work to make sure they're in
that spot.
>> Yeah, they don't have a lot of innings
on their arms.
There's a chance [music] they're just
blowing out their arms.
>> Yeah, I mean
Cam's got a number, so um but yeah,
hopefully that is something Barry that
serves us well when we get to the end.
