A GREAT Finale to the BEST Season Yet! | House of the Dragon 3x8 Reaction
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The season finale of House of the Dragon delivers a dramatic conclusion marked by Aegon Targaryen's triumphant return with his dragon Sunfyre, effectively claiming the throne after burning the Mutton Host at Rook's Rest. While the hosts celebrate this victory for Aegon, they also express deep concern over the physical toll on key figures, particularly Lord Corlys Varys losing a finger and the tragic fate of Princess Helena, who is forced to eat despite her captivity and loss of an unborn child. The episode sets a dark tone with significant dragon deaths and no new hatchlings since Laena Velaryon's passing, suggesting that the known dragon lineage from Game of Thrones may finally be concluding its arc as the extinction looms over the realm.
Political tensions reach a breaking point as Lord Corlys confronts Rhaenyra about her treatment of his allies, accusing her of using people merely as tools before discarding them, a sentiment echoed by Mysaria's return to King's Landing to undermine Rhaenyra among the common folk. In an attempt to stabilize the fractured realm, Corlys proposes a peace deal that would split the kingdom between Prince Daeron ruling Oldtown and Rhaenyra governing the crown lands, though this offer comes amidst growing resentment within the Targaryen family. The hosts note that characters like Daemon, now knighted as Sir Darren the Daring, and Aemond are embroiled in internal conflicts that threaten to escalate into violence, with fears that Aemond might kill his half-brother Aegon due to past kinslaying and arrogance.
The narrative explores the descent of major characters into a darker path, highlighted by Rhaenyra's ruthless actions and the deteriorating relationships between Alicent, Daemon, and Aemond, all while the city of King's Landing faces a siege led by Daemon. The hosts praise Emma D'Arcy's performance in portraying this moral decline and discuss how authority often causes characters to abandon their initial standards, as seen in the contrasting behaviors of Corlys's sons where honor clashes with emotional nature. As the episode ends with the city breached and major figures like Tumbleton lost, the story leaves a complex political landscape that sets the stage for future conflicts involving Daemon, Aemond, Larys, and the potential fallout from Rhaenyra's controversial decisions.

Boys and uh ladies, everyone out there,
thank you so much for watching House of
the Dragon. I wrote down a few things I
wanted to address going into this
episode because it is the season finale.
Um Aegon Targaryen is absolutely the
coolest guy in the whole freaking seven
kingdoms after last episode. The way he
just
>> Yeah,
that was the best dragon moment in a
while.
>> That was dope. That was like the Viserys
moment. That gave me like Viserys vibes,
you know what I mean? Like in uh
the original, obviously the big daddy
Game of Thrones. Another thing is Hugh
Hammer is kind of in the dog house right
now. He's sort of in the dragon house.
We had We didn't see him in the last
episode, which really pissed me off. I
don't even know if I mentioned
>> dog house with his wife and potentially
Rhaenys.
>> I don't know if I mentioned that we
didn't see him in the last episode, but
I did notice, I don't know if I
mentioned it. Oh, Lord Corlys got his
finger sent, so that's not good. So,
we'll see more about that.
Uh I don't think his sons are going to
like that very much, and it really
um depends on how Rhaenyra reacts to
this whole situation because Corlys is
like, you know, you know how he is. He's
just been through a lot, so uh she
better pretend like she gives a [ __ ]
about this finger cuz if she don't give
a damn about it, it's going to piss me
off.
>> Well, they have to First of all, tell
her about it. Allen does.
>> So, dragon deaths are probably going to
be a very common theme
in this episode because we already know
how this whole book plays out. Um even
though we do have another season, so
hopefully we don't lose any dragons. My
heart's not ready for it, but if we do
at the end of the day
>> No, you don't care.
>> I don't really care. I don't like them.
I think they're I mean, I like them in
the sense that I think the show is
awesome, but I don't like them in the
sense that if I was a common folk, I
would want them to all be skeletons at
the uh
at the um at the local museum.
Definitely. What else happens? Um
Rhaenyra is just slipping. That's what I
wrote down. Rhaenyra is slipping.
>> [laughter]
>> She's all slipping away. She finally got
here, you know what I mean? She thinks
it's been ordained by the gods
themselves, and it is not going to plan.
What else
>> just the gods herself, her dad also.
>> Yes.
And then obviously hopefully Daemon
makes it through the episode Uh
because
I feel like he's our little prisoner
right now.
So, with that being said, man, let's
watch House of the Dragon's season
finale. Like, comment, subscribe, guys.
Hit us up on Patreon if you want to see
the full uncut reaction. Sorry the intro
was so long. Um I just wanted to, you
know, definitely address all these
points going into the show because
that's what I'm personally looking for.
So far, this season's been phenomenal.
It has not disappointed at all, and I
anticipate a very strong season.
>> Mhm.
>> Or a very strong end to this season. So,
let's go.
>> Someone said there's a hierarchy in
dragons, too. That's why they beat Sheep
Stealer up cuz he's kind of like a
>> little punk ass.
>> Ain't no royal dragon.
>> Yeah, yeah, yeah. [laughter]
>> They will laugh at you no more when they
see you as you are.
>> No.
>> They will burn.
>> You're just kidding.
>> We claim THIS [music] LAND FOR RHAENYRA.
>> I AM AEGON TARGARYEN. NOW YOU SEE ME AS
I TRULY AM. DREADFUL IN VENGEANCE.
>> COME ON, LET'S GET A redemption arc.
Even though people are like, "He burned
all those people. How can he have one?"
>> I think he's the best character in the
show.
>> He did some shitty stuff back [laughter]
then.
>> Well, they all suck.
>> But if you look
>> falling off, too.
>> Everyone has done some bad stuff.
>> I think we all know that at this point.
I think it's just
>> Even you in your life.
>> No, him?
>> I was talking about her.
>> Oh, yeah, her. She's [ __ ] up.
Man, let's go. This is about to be good.
>> It's kind of good dragons only like
really burn people because what if they
dismembered them up? Like just chopped
them up.
>> They're like whoosh.
>> Like alligators do.
Cuz they kind of like resemble a little
bit.
>> Wait, alligators do what now?
>> They like dismember people.
>> Mhm. Well, they definitely crunch you up
and roll you around.
>> Mhm.
He's just the decoration at the end of a
spear. Isn't that kind of wild?
>> [music]
>> Cool.
>> That's crazy.
>> I must see the queen, your grace.
>> I know it's urgent, they could at least
knock. Like at least once.
>> He is risen.
>> Who?
>> Aegon. Sunfyre is dead.
>> she's got word.
>> Out. Sunfyre is dead, rotting in a
wasteland.
>> Mhm.
>> [laughter]
>> Sit down.
>> Aegon burned the mutton host at Rook's
Rest, and then he flew [laughter]
I don't know where.
>> That's why they showed the hot steppin'
in the recap.
>> throughout the realm announcing the
king's return. Smallfolk name it a sign
from the gods that Aegon is ordained to
rule, that he and his dragon have been
resurrected to reclaim the throne.
>> Yeah, I might think that, too.
>> my known subjects gather outside the
Grand SEPT BESEECHING THE GODS TO SAY
WHO IS MEANT TO RULE THEM AFTER ALL FOR
WHICH I HAVE FOUGHT AND SUFFERED.
>> WE KNOW.
>> OH, RELAX. You still got dragons. Chill.
>> The lesser gods have no say in what is
to come. We are the blood of old
Valyria. You have an absolute power
within your grasp. You have only to
wield it.
>> [ __ ] Viserys.
>> Hey, be nice to him.
>> here. His prophecy has tested me again
and again, and I have met its every
challenge.
>> Kesy ao zyakie soses
sir. [music]
>> [music]
>> I feel like Damon's going to make her go
dark side.
>> Yeah. Right now, she's [clears throat]
going to come in hooded and be like
She's like, "I'll show you absolute
power."
>> Aegon
>> I just hope they don't nod off.
Let's go, Hugh.
>> Tomble ton jore gogon vome
Rhaenys going to freak out.
He was like, "You know I love that."
Not daring. I know.
>> Your Grace, [music] have plans been laid
for the Sea Snake's rescue? There will
be a rescue.
>> Your father will search Tumbleton for
the Sea Snake once the town has been
reclaimed. [music]
>> He'll be long dead by then.
>> Send me now.
>> You and Adam are needed here to guard
the city if, indeed, these rumors are
true and Sunfyre was allowed to live.
>> Corlys is your hand. Your oldest ally. I
do not wish your grandson ill, but he
made his choice, and we must now pay its
price.
>> She's not taking care of her people. She
don't even know he's captured. Like
>> What?
>> That Lord Corlys was out there to be
taken.
>> You do not dare.
>> It is how you've always treated those
who serve you.
>> That's what I was saying.
>> Addam and I have labored without rest
over countless sorties in search of your
enemies, only to be repaid in your
anger.
>> Yes, that is because your sorties have
yielded nothing, [music] while my
enemies have been allowed to muster
their strength.
>> If a person is useful to you, you wield
[music] them, but if not, you abandon
them, as you have with Rhaena. And now,
she is broken, like my grandson.
>> I would have been justified in
abandoning you after the Gullet.
>> Perhaps, but you need my dragon.
>> Oh.
>> Hey, she's like a viper.
>> She will blame you for it, truly.
Insolence runs in your blood, as your
sister has lately reminded us.
>> Hey guys, y'all might not agree with her
crying and, you know, being mean and
everything right now, but you got to
give it up for Emma D'Arcy.
>> Yeah.
>> She killed that.
>> Good morrow, my lords. Good morrow,
indeed. We've just sailed through the
night from Driftmark after learning our
Lord Admiral is hostile to the
Hightowers. The queen has called upon
you to secure King's Landing.
>> To answer her could mean our lord's
death.
>> Lord Corlys knew of the risks of his
adventures. He'd want us to appraise
Valyrian honor as greater than his life.
>> Who are you to speak to our lord's
desires?
>> His oldest living son.
>> Mhm. Show some respect.
>> And named successor.
>> Mhm.
>> Your once and future lord of the tides.
>> Oh, man.
>> Damn right.
>> [music]
>> All he is a squire that we never seen
talk to.
>> Well, I got them pre-war jitters is what
I got. This young man is making me hype.
>> Daemon just got permission to be Daemon.
Let's go.
>> Marvel armor.
>> That, all of it,
is for you.
>> Hold on. Did you just call that Marvel
armor?
>> Because it's so clean.
>> It is gorgeous. There's never been this
amount of detail.
>> but it's clean.
>> Bro, that's because this man ain't down
there.
>> That's what I'm saying. He's got the
Marvel armor.
>> armor is so badass. Marvel wish they
could.
>> Marvel does wish they could, but listen
to what I'm saying. It's clean. We
talked about this. Marvel has clean
costumes.
>> Marvel would use Blender to make that.
>> [laughter]
>> They would actually just be wearing a
green shirt.
>> Yeah, yeah.
Green football pads.
>> [laughter]
>> All of it is for you.
>> Mufasa.
>> Remarkable, is it not?
>> Damn Lion King.
>> But must be made [music] a knight before
you can be crowned king. Kneel.
>> Hey, let's go. This is some old school,
though.
>> Season finale, we get to knight someone.
>> Daemon Targaryen, do you swear before
the eyes of gods and men to defend those
[music] who cannot defend themselves?
EVERYBODY INSIDE!
TO PROTECT all women and children, to
obey your captains, your liege lord,
to fight bravely whenever needed, and to
do such other tasks as I lay upon you,
however hard or humble or dangerous they
may be.
>> I hate that thing. I hate that thing.
>> Meet me at Tumbleton. It's going down.
>> Then rise, a knight.
>> [music]
>> Sir Darren the Daring.
>> I don't know.
>> What?
>> And like the way.
>> [music]
>> He's like tearing up.
>> [laughter]
>> Yeah, cuz his plan's coming to fruition.
>> Let me cook something that suit.
>> The queen of bastards' armies all right
the gates.
>> Oh, you mean like some shrimp or
something?
>> And leading them to the slaughter will
be our uncle. No, a lover.
No,
a husband, Damon [ __ ] Targaryen.
>> And his dragon?
>> Oh, she's got a [ __ ] dragon.
>> Well, he's not going to use it.
>> And how do you know?
>> Cuz his lady wife, the [music] queen,
won't let him.
>> Ha-ha, he's got
Damon on a short lead like a [ __ ] in a
kennel.
>> Another isle for the dragon lord, the
rogue prince will soon quake before the
mighty and terrible LORD ALF THE WHITE.
>> Imagine having to take him serious cuz
he has a dragon. That'd be so annoying.
>> he would just light everything up cuz
you're drunk.
>> Your grace, is all to miss.
>> What is it?
>> The Princess Helena, she still has not
taken food. The maesters worry for her
health, especially for the babe in her
belly.
>> Summon Sir Alan. They require full
escort to the Grand Sept. There, today,
the High Septon will anoint me and bless
my reign for all of King's Landing to
see.
>> I don't think he's going to do that.
What happens if he publicly says no?
>> At once, your grace.
>> We publicly execute him.
>> Will that be all?
>> You can't do that. You'll lose the
people.
>> What if you're going to lose them
anyways?
>> No.
>> Oh, well, [ __ ] Chop his ass up. I'm
just kidding. I don't know. That's
complicated.
>> What is this? Ss. My lady, big pardon
for the intrusion. We weren't given much
time.
>> Time for what?
>> Your passage has been arranged aboard
the ship to kiss. You are two sinful
pentos of dust.
>> Uh-oh.
>> I am to inform you that your services
here are at an end. You have served the
queen and the realm most faithfully,
[music] and her grace wishes to extend
her gratitude. You will be provided with
gold sufficient for a man and servants
of your own.
>> I guess Damon won.
>> Be quick about it.
>> Aw, she feels super betrayed.
But I think she was betraying.
>> [music]
>> You don't think she's going to become
scorned? Kind of like Oath, right?
>> I think that's the game.
>> Yeah. Cuz Rhaenyra is sort of losing
everybody.
>> My lady, I must return you to your
quarters.
>> Aw. Damn, she gets that hour yard time.
That's tough.
>> Huh.
Like her dream.
>> This way, princess.
>> Woah.
>> Do not trust the queen. Aegon has
returned. His dragon lives. Your unborn
child is a hostage, a prize by which she
can hold power over enemies. She will
never release you.
>> Off with her head.
>> What's up with these guards? Why aren't
they letting them gossip? Like she's
sitting there spilling everything to the
enemy, and they're just like
>> the drama, too, just like we do.
>> They what?
>> Do you remember? I remember.
>> Do you remember?
>> Fret not. You're alive. Here, drink
this. You'll be another in an hour.
>> She poisoned me.
>> You realize you're alone in this world,
and that we are together. But I no
longer wish to suffer it.
>> Do you?
>> Why do you care whether I'm alone,
whether I live or die? I'm a kinslayer,
Alice. My own brother is dead at my
hand. I've been damned for my trespasses
and cursed to suffer.
>> You was napping, buddy.
>> You should abandon me, lest you bring
mine own fate upon yourself.
>> When dragon Balerion burned this place,
it was to end Lord Harren's line, but
his line was not so easily ended. A
child, a boy, lived on, burned terribly,
but alive. His mother would have given
anything to save him. She summoned
maesters from across the Seven Kingdoms,
but to no avail.
So, she turned to older cures. She
uncovered incantations more ancient than
the land. She treated with things that
lived in the forest, but none of it
could unmake what dragonfire made. When
the boy was gone, she she tried to go
with him.
>> So, she's talking about herself, right?
>> Yeah, has to be.
>> And that is where she learned the cost.
She discovered then she was cursed to
live on, to remain within the bones of
the river kings of old. Cursed for
sharing in Harren's avarice, stripped of
her name, her title, her castle, and
sentenced to serve every hap'ny lord who
came here to rule it.
>> And 100 years passed.
>> It's a long time to be [music] alone.
>> Oh, so you got some old lady action
going on. If they break that curse,
she's probably going to get old.
He likes them older. He said, "Well, I
never had a grandma."
>> [laughter]
>> You must eat, sister.
>> Hunger strike.
>> Think of the babe. You are thinking of
him now, too.
>> You're saying it's a boy.
>> Do you know this?
>> She's like,
>> Look at me.
>> She's like, you better hope it ain't.
>> You cannot think I would harm you.
>> Do you think life is nothing more than
not to being dead? Our father would hate
you for this.
>> And yet, he did nothing to prevent it. I
strove to honor his philosophy until I
saw that it would be the realm's
undoing.
>> There's a beetle that emerges on the
cusp of summer. It has lots of colors,
blue, gold, purples. It looks like a
turtle. Have you ever noticed it?
>> I can't say I have.
>> She don't give a damn about the people.
They always do that. Her and Alicent
when she says stuff.
>> itself on the waste of other creatures.
It's beautiful.
>> Well, when summer returns, you'll have
to show me.
>> You don't care about it.
>> That's exactly what they're trying to
show.
>> Your girl there at war, you know.
>> All the things you care about are ugly.
This place is ugly. You,
yourself, ugly.
>> Eat.
>> Ooh.
>> Or you will force my hand.
>> NO.
>> THEY'RE going to force-feed her?
Aw.
That reminds ME OF WEAPONS.
>> [laughter and crying]
>> THAT'S CRAZY, BRO. Helena's been like my
favorite character of this season. Do
you guys know how freaking depressed
Viserys I Targaryen would have to be to
not eat?
>> [laughter]
>> I'm just joking.
You too.
>> I know. I'm watching Tumbleton as well.
>> When my mother's world fell apart.
>> Where did she go? News of Aegon's return
has set the queen on the dark path.
She has grounded Baela and confined her
to the keep. Did you know this?
>> These are dangerous days, and it is not
mine to question, Your Grace.
>> Brothers divided. Can't stand it.
>> you? While our father awaits the
Hightower gallows, Rhaenyra raises you
up in his place. [music]
Glorious ascent for a bastard.
>> I have no [music] ambition but to
discharge my duty.
>> Be ready.
>> Damn.
Let them play some ball.
>> Why are we dividing ourselves so hard?
Like dude, she looks like a damn ender
dragon or
>> I love it.
>> She looks scary as hell.
>> Oh, is that him? He's adorable.
This part reminds me of Monty Python cuz
there's no horses.
>> Gods, how will we face them all?
>> Bravely and pointlessly.
>> Take your places, boys.
>> They're coming. Take your places.
>> Aw.
Guys, Mrs. October has been trying to
compare this to Monty Python for like
three episodes and she finally She was
finally able to do it.
Cuz they
They were carrying it. Good job.
>> Ulf hasn't reported and he's not with
his dragon.
Take a tithing of men of each post.
[music] Search the town. Find him.
>> Mhm.
>> He's either using the little boys
>> Yes. Yeah.
>> We're all going to die.
>> No.
>> With uncle.
>> If he and Rocks didn't have some secret
plot afoot, he's kept it even from me.
>> Whatever it was.
>> It does not appear to have come to pass.
>> Please, we don't want to do this.
We don't want
>> Aw.
>> I must take wing against the enemy. No.
All these men, these boys are here for
me. I cannot let them fight alone.
>> And what purpose would you become
another body amongst all the countless
dead? What are my choices? I either
fight or I flee.
>> Man, this ain't looking good.
All right, well, what's the part WHERE
OH, THAT'S CARAXES.
>> MHM.
>> Ulf the dragon rider!
I'm looking FOR ULF THE DRAGON RIDER.
>> [screaming]
>> OH, HE'S DRUNK.
>> WHO, DAEMON?
>> NO, ULF.
>> OH, DUH.
>> And now Lord Ormund's boy king and his
faithful squire.
>> Shut up.
>> [laughter]
>> Driftmark lies in ruin, your legacy in
tatters, but King Daeron, in all his
generosity and wisdom, can offer a
richer future than the one Rhaenyra has
laid for you.
>> My honor is all that remains to me. Do
you really think I would hawk it for
Hightower coin?
>> Very well.
A hard road, then.
>> No.
>> Aw, snap.
>> I like that Corlys.
He ain't going to give in. I like that.
>> Yeah, I like that, TOO.
>> HEY, GOOD CHOICE, GIRL.
>> SHE'S GONE.
>> NO, I'm mad at her right now. I don't
like her.
>> For what?
>> Because I feel like she's going to
betray Rhaenyra. When she said that to
>> Well, Rhaenyra just betrayed her.
>> Well, she can't. She's the queen. She
can betray who she wants.
>> [music]
>> Queen of bastards.
>> You are my ancestor, free. And
>> [music]
>> the duty I passed to you is more than
simple rule. There is a story that your
grandsire told me. It was [music] told
to him by the old king, and I passed it
on to your brother following my own
sense.
>> Someone to my own.
At long last.
>> Oh, that is so cool on that horse.
>> We defended her a fortnight ago. It's so
easy to forget about him. Do tell me how
he died.
>> Badly.
>> My prince,
my lords, a Hightower knight approaches.
>> So, kill him.
>> With Lord Corlys.
>> Fight no honor.
>> [laughter]
>> So?
>> Prince Daemon, I'm Ser Gwayne Hightower.
>> Well met.
>> Look me.
>> I've seen more meat on a butcher's
knife.
>> Can I kill him?
>> You already know, Lord Corlys.
>> Are you well?
>> I'm well enough.
>> So, speak.
>> My cousin Ormund has taken leave of his
senses. He would rather die than admit
defeat.
>> And you?
>> Well, I'm not blind. I know we will not
survive the day if you attack. So, as a
token of good faith,
I return your hand.
>> Four fingers of him, at least.
>> I've come to sue for peace. To plead
with
>> in debt?
>> At the behest of Daeron Targaryen.
>> The latest in your line of false kings.
>> will end when all the traitors' heads
are mounted on spikes above the king's
gate and not before.
>> Listen to Daeron's entreaty. Divide the
realm. Let the queen rule over the crown
lands, the north and Vale, all the lands
watered by the Trident, and let Daeron
rule from Oldtown.
>> Oh, please, let me kill this
milk-sucking southerling [ __ ]
>> The realm was once seven kingdoms before
the Conqueror, when we were divided but
at peace.
>> Stop.
>> My good Lord Hand, I thought the
Hightowers might have cut off your
tongue as well.
>> He's not even really a hostage anymore.
>> The realm still holds to the precedent
set by the Great Council that a woman
cannot rule.
>> your wife who was passed over, Corlys.
Rhaenyra seized the throne with a hoard
of dragons. Her rule is now
unassailable.
>> has many dragons, yes, but the great
houses hesitate. Her subjects do not
feel safe, nor should they. Aemond and
Vhagar remain at large.
>> Yeah, shut your ass up back there.
>> Give Prince Daeron Oldtown. Name him
Lord Paramount of the Reach. Daeron will
never be king, but he and his dragon can
be Wardens of the South.
>> what I was offering.
>> Wed Daeron to Rhaena. Seal the breach
between your houses. With the combined
will of King's Landing, the Reach, the
North, the Riverlands, and the Vale,
Rhaenyra can quickly bring the West and
the Stormlands
>> like he's telling the wrong person.
>> What will the usurper Aegon say when he
hears of this pact?
>> He now scuttles about somewhere on his
crippled dragon, half-cooked but still
fit to rule.
Or so he thinks. Is that news?
>> It's so tragic to see brother set
against brother.
>> Aegon and Aemond would be common enemies
of this new alliance.
>> Alliance? I never took you for a
traitor, Corlys, and worse, a craven.
What price has the boy king offered for
your fealty?
>> Peace. Two paths diverge before you,
Daemon, but both lead to the same end.
Rhaenyra sitting the Iron Throne, ruling
the Seven Kingdoms. All that remains for
you to decide is what you want from this
war. Victory or a mountain of dead
Hightowers? What do do think?
>> You would callously cast away the lives
of thousands
>> I was going to say, no one's talking to
you.
>> the rules of Rhaenyra, the ordained
queen of Yandel, of the first men, of
beggars and thieves and cowards like
you. And new Valyria will rise from the
ashes of her usurper half brothers and
of the Hightowers of Oldtown. Now,
you came to me under the banner of
peace.
So, I give you the choice. Die here or
behind those walls like the rodent you
are.
Look, Cole is my prisoner. Hightower may
return to alert his cousin to our
imminent coming.
>> I mean, I kind of figured you'd go that
way.
>> Form up to march. The next man to stall
on this attack will be tied to the FRONT
OF MY [ __ ] HORSE.
>> PLUS, these wolves, man, they want
blood.
>> Yeah, when when Rhaenyra gave him the
okay, I was like, yeah, he's using it.
>> Yeah, he's about to go crazy.
He's about to show y'all the meaning of
give an inch, take a mile.
Oh, it's dragon's back. Let's go.
>> Vhagar.
>> Where's Vhagar?
Wait, does that sound like Vhagar? I
don't know. I don't know the screams,
you know.
>> Well, Vhagar just don't sound like that.
>> Yeah, Vhagar.
>> roars.
Or she roars.
>> Is that
>> That's Sunfyre.
OH, THAT'S AEMOND.
>> I HOPE
>> There he is.
>> Aegon?
>> Is that what I said? Oh, yeah, Aegon.
Duh. That's Aemond.
>> Please be a dream.
>> If I'm Aemond, if I'm Aegon, that's
where I'm going.
>> You will not be. You are dead.
>> [laughter]
>> Is this real life?
I don't know when this place
>> Oh my god, he Will Smith'd him.
>> seal.
Brother,
I beg for your forgiveness.
>> Now you do?
>> [laughter]
>> Forgiveness.
>> I should split you in half.
>> Mhm.
>> I should have Sunfyre burn you alive,
but slowly, so I can see your skin peel
and blister, you kinslayer.
>> Mhm.
You use humor.
Love that word.
>> No. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. I WAS SUPPOSED
TO ENJOY THIS. WHAT'S WRONG with you?
>> Oh, he's all weak.
>> FIGHT ME.
>> I coveted what you had.
>> Judged you unsuited for the crown.
>> [laughter]
>> Even Sunfyre is like, "Eh."
>> Tried to kill you to take your place.
>> Boo.
>> You'd be right to sentence me to die.
>> He's like, "Not again."
>> [ __ ] you. Get up. We're going to
Tumbleton.
>> My prince cannot. His dragon abandoned
him.
>> Who is she?
>> My betrothed.
>> Mhm.
>> [clears throat]
>> Do you know what's happening uh there?
>> No. He doesn't have Wi-Fi there.
>> Rhaenyra declared me dead. And after you
disappeared, that little [ __ ] Daeron
decided he should be king.
>> Oh, they're going to team up.
>> So, here's what we're going to do.
>> No, he's going to use him.
>> We're going to find Vhagar,
fly to Tumbleton,
>> Mhm.
>> and put Daeron and that shitheel Ormund
in line. And then, we're all going to
march on King's Landing under my banner.
And maybe, when Rhaenyra's head is on a
spike and I'm [music] back on the Iron
Throne,
>> Amen.
>> Shush.
>> Maybe then
I'll forgive you.
>> Hey, I like the I like the um
>> [ __ ] kill me.
>> [laughter]
>> I like the greens are coming back.
That's crazy. I guess there's nothing
brothers can't get over, right?
>> one way in. Disguise yourself and post
them on the northeast side. They've
raised wooden battlements, but the
defenses are incomplete, so there are
vulnerable areas, particularly the walls
to the southeast.
>> Simple enough. I will burn the
battlements over the main gate. Once
they're clear of resistance, Arvan will
lead the attack with Caraxes for cover.
Alf and Silverwing will guard the rear.
Rhaenyra's banners will fly above the
holdfast by nightfall. Take every care
to preserve the town and its people. The
realm is watching. The queen's moral
standing must remain absolute.
>> Sounds boring.
>> But prince
My lords
>> She looks like a raccoon.
>> Or X-Men.
>> The enemy has fortified their numbers
with children.
>> Gods.
How many?
>> Scores. All along the battlements and
that
>> That's kind of a
>> As far as we could see. He's testing me,
my prince.
>> That's annoying war bear.
>> The smile is comes.
>> Lord Rodrick, are you still prepared to
die for our queen?
>> Hell [ __ ] wait.
>> Take your grey beards over the walls.
Overwhelm them with your northern
fighting spirit. Open the gate from
within. But you are not to die until you
open the gate.
>> All right. Gates open then die.
>> Lord Oscar will lead the flanks as
planned. Sir Garibald has the reserve.
The center is mine.
>> I mean, that's the type of soldier you
need.
>> Good old Tommy fighting again.
>> That sucks though.
>> I feel like he's not going to be in the
show next season. He's like a guest
star, you know? So, I got a feeling he's
definitely probably going to die in
this.
>> What a treat it was cuz we've been
watching Sons.
>> Yeah.
>> This is the house of the seven. No arms
are to cross its threshold.
>> The people of King's Landing gather
seeking to know who is ordained to lead
them. You will give them that answer by
anointing me for all to see.
>> I have already told you that such is
impossible.
>> This is insane.
>> Now, after Aegon and his dragon have
been resurrected, there could be no
clearer sign of whom the gods have
chosen to rule, princess.
>> I am queen. The old man forgets.
I wear my father's crown and sit his
throne.
>> Oh, no.
>> With six dragons at my heel, you will
not deny me my right a second time.
>> You may have six dragons, but I have a
seven-faced god. I could not possibly
oppose their will.
>> He's a damn good priest. I'll give him
from
>> Then you name yourself a traitor.
>> We got to kill traitors, buddy.
>> I am the High Septon of the Faith.
To harm me is to declare war upon the
starry sept. To damn your soul to the
deepest of the seven hells.
>> The realm's watching.
>> You are of the blood of old Valyria. You
wanted a higher god than him.
>> Daemon.
>> To them, [music] this house is an empty
work of brick and stone.
>> Damn.
Talk about being reduced. Oh god.
>> On sacred ground.
A PLACE OF REFUGE.
>> OH, HE DID IT.
OH, THAT changed him.
>> Yeah, cuz now he thinks he's damned to
hell for eternity. He's like, [ __ ]
>> She better be a good queen.
>> What is she going to be like, "Hey, he
did it."?
>> That's kind of insane cuz that's such a
huge deal in this world, you know? Look
at him.
>> I passed the test.
>> BEFORE HIS DEATH, my father, Viserys the
Peaceful, named me his heir. Not in
secret, but in ceremony. Hundreds of
lords traveled hundreds of leagues to
swear fealty to me before gods and men.
But my rule was already ordained. It was
prophesied [music] long before even
Viserys was born.
>> I would think she sounds crazy. I'm out
there eating rats.
>> It began with the Doom when fire and
hell erupted to destroy old Valyria and
her people. I NEED OFF THE DRAGON RIDER.
>> HE'S STILL doing that?
>> In there. Fight him. Only the Targaryens
survived. Where is he?
>> He's going to be drunk.
>> Alone was spared.
>> So basically she's saying she's like uh
>> summoned [music] my ancestor,
Aegon the Conqueror, to the seven
kingdoms to unite a fractured realm
beneath one banner of black and red.
[music] They named him protector of the
world of men. His duty to shield it from
an ancient and sinister darkness that
looms in the far north.
>> It happens
>> the wall, beyond the lands of winter,
>> [music]
>> and only the might of dragons can stand
against it. The conqueror passed [music]
this sacred charge to his chosen
descendants, to the old King Jaehaerys,
then to my father, then to [music] me.
The Hightower line CANNOT FULFILL THIS
PROPHECY. If your world is to survive, I
must light THE WAY.
BECAUSE I
>> She used it?
>> am the shield of the people. I am
RHAENYRA THE CHOSEN.
>> NOT QUITE. THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT SHE
said though.
Is there anyone who likes her at this
point?
They all heard that.
Maybe they were instructed to just
cheer. Like if there's cheer, just
cheer.
GRAY BEARDS.
>> [screaming]
[screaming]
>> HERE WE GO.
>> NOW IT'D BE SCARY IF YOU'RE in there.
>> Yeah, cuz they're acting so uncivilized.
>> rip [laughter] you.
>> They're the type who ain't about to pay
the tab, you know, what I'm saying?
>> And it's cool the dragon back there.
That was a cool shot.
>> Man, these kids ain't got no business up
here.
Basically using them as shields. I'd
have both of my legs wet.
Mhm.
>> This is horrible.
>> You don't think they're going to kill
the kids, right?
>> It's hard to tell.
>> I feel like the way this show's like
playing out, they're going to cuz Black
is losing the kids.
>> Rhaenyra has to look even dirtier.
>> Yes. Even her makeup they did made her
look just so dead and uh
>> I like it.
>> I don't want
>> I think it's cool cuz they're like
showing her deteriorating a little
>> She's like Daenerys.
>> Yeah.
>> They're like, "Hey, you guys didn't like
it in Game of Thrones? Have some more of
it. Here you go. [laughter]
[ __ ] y'all's opinions."
No, I'm just kidding.
They're testing how far THEY CAN SHOOT.
>> [screaming]
>> NICE SHOT.
>> [laughter]
>> IT'S LIKE 300 A LITTLE BIT.
>> A little bit.
>> They're prepared.
>> Nah, they're losing this fight.
>> They're basically like a distraction,
like pawns in chess.
>> Cuz I think even if they start losing,
Daemon's just going to unleash Caraxes
on them and then it's game over.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh my god.
>> Oh, shoot. [clears throat]
That's not what he ordered.
>> Oh, you better run. He's going to punch
you for no reason.
>> Where [gasps] is the prince? THE KING?
>> DO you think he went on his dragon?
>> I don't know. I really don't.
>> [music]
>> OH.
AH.
>> OH.
>> IS THAT LIKE SOME HOT OIL?
>> On Valhalla you can do that. Assassin's
Creed.
>> [screaming]
>> They should have like a long stick and
if you put up a ladder you just push it.
You know what I mean? It extends it like
a couple people can push the ladder
down.
>> [screaming]
>> Oh.
>> Boy, was slow.
Oh, man.
>> [screaming]
>> Um.
>> I hope that wasn't their big plan.
>> Your grace, I cannot find Sir Alf the
White.
>> What do you mean you cannot find him? He
has a very large dragon.
>> Begging pardon, your grace. He is not
with his dragon.
>> I feel like Damon knows exactly where he
is.
>> Damon didn't beat him up hard enough, I
guess.
>> He's just pissing away in some pub,
YEAH?
>> [screaming]
>> EXACTLY HOW MUCH DRAGON? HE WAS MEANT TO
BE guarding King's Landing.
>> Learn why he's here.
>> Yeah, what's up with that, Hugh?
>> I'm pretty sure because his His in
there, right? He's trying to make sure
she's good.
>> Yeah, but that's a betrayal though,
right?
>> Oh, yeah.
Oh, I love that. I love that scene.
>> [screaming]
>> Man, these people are crazy.
>> That's so messed up. That is so messed
up.
>> They're just putting them in front of
the door. Oh my god.
>> Move
them.
And they're going to stand there because
their parents and family are in there.
Oh my goodness.
>> [screaming]
>> OH MY GOD. AH, HOW DID DAMON SURVIVE
THAT? OH.
>> If he gets arrowed down, I'll be so mad
because everyone is.
No, we're safe.
>> [screaming]
>> And the walls are breached, everybody.
The walls are breached.
Oh.
>> Cuz you're elite.
One V one.
>> Oh my god.
>> [sighs]
>> He's just sleeping through this.
>> I would just stay there. I wouldn't even
show them.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, yeah.
>> What? THAT'S
ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS [ __ ] ON YOUR
[ __ ] DRAGONS.
THEY'RE INSIDE THE WALL.
>> YOU MAY HAVE COST US EVERYTHING. NOW,
get back on that beast.
>> Do as you've been told.
>> I know he doesn't like that cuz he
switched teams because he got abused,
but come on, dude. Like you deserve it.
You suck.
He wants all the luxuries. You know
>> take I would take my dragon and fly away
if I was him.
They're too busy. They're not going to
come looking for me.
>> WHERE ARE YOU?
CAT!
>> I'LL HEAR HIS ANSWER.
>> I'M an outsider!
>> [screaming]
>> King's Landing!
>> Bane killer.
>> Oh, [ __ ] Here we go.
This has been coming for a while.
>> Sir, I I've orders from Prince Daemon
[music] to make certain that you and
your dragon are at the Look.
>> Damn.
>> Uh so, he he's like, all right, I'm on a
team green anyways, even though I just
got slapped up.
>> Dany, the parley failed. Daemon's
overwhelmed the city.
>> You will die.
>> But I won't be remembered a craven. I
have fought beside other brave men who
believed that death was the only path to
glory.
>> Do not die for Omen's vanity, my boy. My
boy, PLEASE.
>> PLEASE.
STAY BACK.
Stay back. You have to come through me
then.
>> He's a real one, though.
>> He's been a real one the whole series.
He's just been passed around, never got
to know his backstory.
>> I know.
>> He's got to listen to Criston pulling
his [ __ ]
>> Return!
>> Yeah, that changes things up right
there.
>> Just
>> Oh.
>> Oh my gosh.
And he's hungover doing that.
>> Mhm.
For some reason, I think he's going to
fall off the dragon. Wouldn't that be
wild that was his legacy?
>> There's Omen's peace on the board.
>> I have sworn to live today.
>> Well, what about everybody inside the
walls?
>> And also, Orman knows that they betrayed
him.
>> Yeah.
>> yeah, I would just find Orman and stick
his ass real quick.
>> I told you, I would poison his little
nose hole thing.
>> He would smell it.
>> Maybe there's some good smelling poison.
>> He bought Oh, that's that good smelling
poison.
OH, NO, NO,
>> [screaming]
>> NO.
>> OH.
>> THEY'RE MAKING AEMOND and Daemon so
similar.
>> Even in the way they talk. I noticed
that.
>> [groaning and screaming]
>> Oh my god.
Get him. Get him.
Oh, I thought he sat in the fire.
>> Man, whoop his ass. Come on.
OH.
>> YES. YES.
>> [screaming]
>> MAN.
>> OH MY
OH MY GOSH.
>> OH, OH.
>> He just Luke Skywalker'd that dude.
>> [screaming]
>> OH.
>> THAT'S OUR brother [ __ ] fighting the
north.
>> Um the north remembers.
>> Oh my god.
>> [ __ ] you, too.
>> Oh, he's a He's your current everybody.
Hey.
>> He said, "Bump you, too."
>> Just let the man get drunk.
>> Oh.
>> Damn, Daemon.
>> I guess to be continued. We'll see this
in 2 years.
>> Oh, she's missing a hand. What?
>> [music]
>> Damn, I thought you were supposed to
make Rhaenyra look good.
I was like Arya and the horse.
>> I think when they just see dragons
they're just going to assume it's
Rhaenyra. They're not going to think
twice. Hey, hey, maybe Ulf turned.
>> You should have ran, buddy.
>> [music]
>> Tumbleton is completely effed.
>> Tumbleton turned into Crumbleton.
>> Yeah.
>> Ulf has turned. The town is lost. We are
leaving.
>> [music]
>> Is that correct? He's trying to fight
Ulf?
>> Are they fighting? I can't really tell.
>> fire being breathed at it, so I don't
know.
>> What you sniffing over here?
>> This music is giving me not good vibes.
>> [music]
>> Doesn't that look where it's like where
Tommen?
>> Where he jumped out the window?
>> Nah.
>> I was kind of hoping he looked worse.
>> No.
Oh, I think that will be his undoing.
>> Do you think he's going to think
[screaming] that this had something to
do with Damon? [music]
Or something or do you think he's going
to know Ulf did it?
>> Maybe he'll see that Ulf did that. You
know, cuz he was there.
He was a witness.
>> Switched sides, too.
>> Oh, man.
>> Where's Erryk?
>> [music]
>> I was hoping he flew off on his dragon.
>> No, he ain't no coward.
>> [music]
>> I guess we're not going to know until
next season.
>> My queen.
>> [music]
>> No.
>> There's just no way.
>> Uh-uh.
Does it look like she escaped or jumped?
I
can't tell, but that that looks exactly
right where King Tommen jumped.
>> [music]
>> Oh my gosh. Yeah, cuz the Sept of Baelor
wasn't built yet, so
Oh, that's Alicent. Oh my god, I thought
that was her.
But she like represents she's
represented by like bugs and
butterflies. Oh, she's dead, bro.
Oh, and Alicent feels that Alicent feels
it.
>> [music]
>> Goodness, guys.
>> [music]
>> Oh my gosh.
>> [music]
>> She's like a butterfly. She was meant to
be free. She's like damn Butterfree on
Pokémon. That's so sad cuz that's the
most wholesome character, so like this
show is just F. Unless Joffrey's sweet.
She's been planning this.
>> [music]
>> Read the rest of that thing.
Oh my gosh. If I'm Rhaenyra, I'm burning
that. No, I think I look badass in it.
Yeah, hang it up.
Hey, but she so that was telling because
she saw that and was like, "Oh, it's
inevitable." Cuz she believed Helaena
was a dreamer. Yeah. Wow, that could
change like her thought processes. Oh my
gosh, guys. Unbelievable season finale,
babe. I feel like
I feel like you think this is the best
season in a while. I definitely do. Cuz
I think this is the best season. I think
we're on the same page about that. This
this episode was insane, guys. We
basically covered everything, but
there's a lot of things I'm excited for
next season. I don't want to sit here
and rehash everything we just watched
cuz to be honest, I kind of hate doing
that.
>> should talk about what we're excited for
cuz
>> Yeah.
>> to be excited for.
>> A lot to be excited for.
Me personally, I'm excited to see Damon,
Aemond, and potentially Larys going on
their own little hobbled adventure. What
do you think about that?
>> like that, too. But, do you feel like at
the end even though they Do you think
they'll have a betrayal or do you think
that they'll grow closer?
>> I think in the end, I think Aemond kills
Aegon.
I think he does. I think he tries to I
think he
I think he feels really bad right now,
but I think he's going to get so tired
of his like uh
just his pompous attitude and like, you
know, Aegon's going to be attacking
every situation from a position of like
leverage because he he's like, "Hey, you
betrayed me. You're a kinslayer."
>> Yeah.
>> And I feel like Aemond's eventually
going to get really tired of that and
his new betrothed
>> Yeah. She's going to basically
[clears throat] tell him She's going to
be in his ear.
>> He he wishes to do you great harm and
he's actually going to listen this time.
That's what I think.
>> That is a good setup for that.
>> I think Alicent is going to hate
Rhaenyra in a way that we have not been
privy to seeing throughout the series
because now the one thing in her life
she's hanging on to her daughter, she's
gone. Not only is she gone, she wasn't
murdered, she wasn't killed in a
trample. She jumped out of a window.
And it's one thing to like get murdered
in battle because like
you know, obviously you die and that's
tragic, but when somebody you love is
pushed to the
point of like jumping out of a window
and you know, someone's responsible for
putting them through that,
you know, over a course of a long period
of time I keep with my prisoner. I don't
see how you can have anything but
disdain for that person. And I think
that's what we're going to see from
Alicent. And I kind of hope on some
level I kind of hope she gets a little
badass in this next season.
>> You know what else I kind of think on
the topic of Helaena?
>> What?
>> So, you know how
Rhaenyra thinks Helaena is a dreamer and
Helaena kind of like sewed that thing
and then hopped out the window, right?
After she got fed that. What if she was
lying to Rhaenyra?
>> About the dreams?
>> Like what if it was just like to I don't
know, make her keep making these rash
decisions cuz like when you know like
when you know the inevitable at the end.
>> sowing seeds of deception.
>> Yeah.
>> Dang, this is October?
>> I just thought about that because you
know she did that and then left. Like
she didn't have any explanation. She
didn't get like, you know.
>> Well, at first I thought that she just
was sick of it.
>> Well, I mean she's coming off as sick of
it, but I feel like she might have did
something in the end to like, I don't
know, do a little something to help
somebody.
>> Well, I feel like the butterflies
basically symbolize the fact that she
has to be free like a butterfly. They
forced her to eat. She couldn't handle
that because they took her autonomy away
from her.
And she decided rather than being a
slave to Rhaenyra, I would rather end
it.
And much like the butterfly, I have
faith I'll be reborn.
>> Yeah. Because if you hear Aegon's alive
and you're her because that's your
husband, you know, that sucks, too. Like
cuz you don't want him alive either.
Like
Ooh. He's the comic relief the show
needs, but
if you're in her shoes, you don't want
him back. Like you're you've just been
put through the wringer and and then
some and then you have a a son on the
way.
>> think she has romantic thoughts.
>> She doesn't. She absolutely hates that
guy.
>> like No, not just about him. I just
think she's completely like
>> Yeah, because she was she was basically
stolen of everything in her life.
>> way, yeah.
>> Yeah, she basically just served the
realm and that's it.
>> I'm seeing Lord Corlys's sons
basically be forced with a really tough
situation, given an opportunity to fight
with each other. Um, and we basically
see two different philosophies. We see
two different sons with two different
mindsets. And it makes sense because
one's all about honor and duty and
succession and just doing what needs to
be done. The younger one obviously is
more emotional. I thought that part was
really great.
>> Yeah.
>> I'm looking forward to more of that
moving forward.
>> But
going off that, do you think that Allen
actually like has intentions of like
taking over for Lord Corlys? Do you
think the power kind of he likes it?
>> I think that he does like it cuz how
could you not? I do think the show's
doing a really good job of trying to
make it seem like
he really wants nothing more in life
than to just have honor and stuff, you
know, that's what's important to him,
but it'd be it'd be quite the character
switch if he turned out to be kind of
corrupt, you know.
>> that's the point of this show.
>> like the good son, you know what I mean?
>> This show always gives when they give
people a position of power, they don't
really handle it in the way like they
started off.
>> 100%.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, so I'm yeah, I'm watching that
storyline close because uh
yeah, there's just a lot there, you
know.
>> And then Damon's storyline Misaria
>> he should use his position and his title
and his name. And if, you know, he
should be loyal to his dad and do
everything in his power, but if if the
time comes where it's his turn to step
up and lead, I mean, that's just how
this world is. You have to do it. I
mean, not doing that is a dishonor to
your father. So, I mean, in a way, he's
kind of being a good son, you know what
I mean?
>> I like how Corlys still when um Damon
was like, I guess what would you call
that? Shell-shocked?
>> Yeah.
>> So, he was like just like, you know,
just battling whoever because he was
shell-shocked. I love how Corlys was
still able to reel him in even though
Corlys was was his prisoner.
>> Yeah.
>> I like that about
>> how when they're sitting there talking,
and then um I I forget the guy's name,
the guy who walks around with Daemon the
whole time.
>> Oh.
>> The nephew of Yeah, Gwyn Gwyn. I like
how they're basically just ignoring him
cuz he has like a baby face.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, that part was funny. Um
>> [laughter]
>> other than that, man, I mean, I feel
like we pretty much addressed everything
in the show that's worth talking about.
>> the Greyjoy
>> Yeah, the Greyjoy. Sorry, I don't know
why I called them wolves.
>> Mysaria, I mean, she basically
>> Mysaria
>> Mysaria Wait, what did I say?
>> Mysaria
>> Mysaria, she basically uh
you know, she jumped off the horse
carriage and she's in town to stay, and
I guess she's going to be working hard
to try to
um undo Rhaenyra, right?
>> Which is going to suck Well, that's also
another storyline cuz she's going to go
with the common folks, obviously,
because that's like
>> what she is.
>> Yeah. Deep down, me.
Um
So, it's just an incredible season in my
opinion, guys. I thought the season was
phenomenal. There's probably a lot we're
missing on the recap, guys. We really do
get into the story. We give it what we,
you know, we try to give it everything
we got in the reaction. And I don't
really like to sit here and try to think
of every nook and cranny that I can try
to go explore cuz half of it is just me
like talking out my ass.
>> think team black has the upper hand
going into season 4.
>> Yeah, it's interesting. This was a
really crazy third quarter. We got a
fourth quarter, guys. We got a crazy
fourth quarter coming.
Um a lot of momentum by green team.
And a lot of a lot of
>> might pull off the injured reserve list.
>> [laughter]
>> A lot of like
especially with like a Criston Cole and
stuff, a lot of coming in second place,
but in this episode, man, that was a
I don't know. They kind of tied it up in
my opinion. Like really the damaging
blow is just the fact that no one likes
Rhaenyra. And she has no support of the
common folk, obviously. And um the show
could have not have done a better job
expressing that.
>> what I also just thought about? Sorry to
interrupt you, but like also Aegon and
Aemond, even though if they team up to
kill Daemon or whatever, then
the Aemond still was alive with the
knowledge that Alicent tried to kill
him. [laughter]
>> Yeah.
>> So, like
>> Oh, she's screwed. That's why That's why
they showed her like she's just sneaking
around like That's her life now.
>> should just stay on the run. Like she
should never come back. Yeah.
>> The only thing that's ever
Maybe just maybe, which I don't know how
the show ends. I mean, I know it ends in
I don't know how the show ends. I know
what happens to the dragons. Let me just
put it that way. Um but in as far as
like the people and the details, I have
no idea. But what if Rhaenyra, Aemond,
and Aegon do die? What if Rhaenyra just
gives her a pardon and just lets her
live out her days?
