A GREAT Finale to the BEST Season Yet! | House of the Dragon 3x8 Reaction

Boys and uh ladies, everyone out there, thank you so much for watching House of the Dragon. I wrote down a few things I wanted to address going into this episode because it is the season finale. Um Aegon Targaryen is absolutely the coolest guy in the whole freaking seven kingdoms after last episode. The way he just >> Yeah, that was the best dragon moment in a while. >> That was dope. That was like the Viserys moment. That gave me like Viserys vibes, you know what I mean? Like in uh the original, obviously the big daddy Game of Thrones. Another thing is Hugh Hammer is kind of in the dog house right now. He's sort of in the dragon house. We had We didn't see him in the last episode, which really pissed me off. I don't even know if I mentioned >> dog house with his wife and potentially Rhaenys. >> I don't know if I mentioned that we didn't see him in the last episode, but I did notice, I don't know if I mentioned it. Oh, Lord Corlys got his finger sent, so that's not good. So, we'll see more about that. Uh I don't think his sons are going to like that very much, and it really um depends on how Rhaenyra reacts to this whole situation because Corlys is like, you know, you know how he is. He's just been through a lot, so uh she better pretend like she gives a [ __ ] about this finger cuz if she don't give a damn about it, it's going to piss me off. >> Well, they have to First of all, tell her about it. Allen does. >> So, dragon deaths are probably going to be a very common theme in this episode because we already know how this whole book plays out. Um even though we do have another season, so hopefully we don't lose any dragons. My heart's not ready for it, but if we do at the end of the day >> No, you don't care. >> I don't really care. I don't like them. I think they're I mean, I like them in the sense that I think the show is awesome, but I don't like them in the sense that if I was a common folk, I would want them to all be skeletons at the uh at the um at the local museum. Definitely. What else happens? Um Rhaenyra is just slipping. That's what I wrote down. Rhaenyra is slipping. >> [laughter] >> She's all slipping away. She finally got here, you know what I mean? Oh my gosh, guys. Unbelievable season finale, babe. I feel like I feel like you think this is the best season in a while. I definitely do. Cuz I think this is the best season. I think we're on the same page about that. This this episode was insane, guys. We basically covered everything, but there's a lot of things I'm excited for next season. I don't want to sit here and rehash everything we just watched cuz to be honest, I kind of hate doing that. >> should talk about what we're excited for cuz >> Yeah. >> to be excited for. >> A lot to be excited for. Me personally, I'm excited to see Damon, Aemond, and potentially Larys going on their own little hobbled adventure. What do you think about that? >> like that, too. But, do you feel like at the end even though they Do you think they'll have a betrayal or do you think that they'll grow closer? >> I think in the end, I think Aemond kills Aegon. I think he does. I think he tries to I think he I think he feels really bad right now, but I think he's going to get so tired of his like uh just his pompous attitude and like, you know, Aegon's going to be attacking every situation from a position of like leverage because he he's like, "Hey, you betrayed me. You're a kinslayer." >> Yeah. >> And I feel like Aemond's eventually going to get really tired of that and his new betrothed >> Yeah. She's going to basically [clears throat] tell him She's going to be in his ear. >> He he wishes to do you great harm and he's actually going to listen this time. That's what I think. >> That is a good setup for that. >> I think Alicent is going to hate Rhaenyra in a way that we have not been privy to seeing throughout the series because now the one thing in her life she's hanging on to her daughter, she's gone. Not only is she gone, she wasn't murdered, she wasn't killed in a trample. She jumped out of a window. And it's one thing to like get murdered in battle because like you know, obviously you die and that's tragic, but when somebody you love is pushed to the point of like jumping out of a window and you know, someone's responsible for putting them through that, you know, over a course of a long period of time I keep with my prisoner. I don't see how you can have anything but disdain for that person. And I think that's what we're going to see from Alicent. And I kind of hope on some level I kind of hope she gets a little badass in this next season. >> You know what else I kind of think on the topic of Helaena? >> What? >> So, you know how Rhaenyra thinks Helaena is a dreamer and Helaena kind of like sewed that thing and then hopped out the window, right? After she got fed that. What if she was lying to Rhaenyra? >> About the dreams? >> Like what if it was just like to I don't know, make her keep making these rash decisions cuz like when you know like when you know the inevitable at the end. >> sowing seeds of deception. >> Yeah. >> Dang, this is October? >> I just thought about that because you know she did that and then left. Like she didn't have any explanation. She didn't get like, you know. >> Well, at first I thought that she just was sick of it. >> Well, I mean she's coming off as sick of it, but I feel like she might have did something in the end to like, I don't know, do a little something to help somebody. >> Well, I feel like the butterflies basically symbolize the fact that she has to be free like a butterfly. They forced her to eat. She couldn't handle that because they took her autonomy away from her. And she decided rather than being a slave to Rhaenyra, I would rather end it. And much like the butterfly, I have faith I'll be reborn. >> Yeah. Because if you hear Aegon's alive and you're her because that's your husband, you know, that sucks, too. Like cuz you don't want him alive either. Like Ooh. He's the comic relief the show needs, but if you're in her shoes, you don't want him back. Like you're you've just been put through the wringer and and then some and then you have a a son on the way. >> think she has romantic thoughts. >> She doesn't. She absolutely hates that guy. >> like No, not just about him. I just think she's completely like >> Yeah, because she was she was basically stolen of everything in her life. >> way, yeah. >> Yeah, she basically just served the realm and that's it. >> I'm seeing Lord Corlys's sons basically be forced with a really tough situation, given an opportunity to fight with each other. Um, and we basically see two different philosophies. We see two different sons with two different mindsets. And it makes sense because one's all about honor and duty and succession and just doing what needs to be done. The younger one obviously is more emotional. I thought that part was really great. >> Yeah. >> I'm looking forward to more of that moving forward. >> But going off that, do you think that Allen actually like has intentions of like taking over for Lord Corlys? Do you think the power kind of he likes it? >> I think that he does like it cuz how could you not? I do think the show's doing a really good job of trying to make it seem like he really wants nothing more in life than to just have honor and stuff, you know, that's what's important to him, but it'd be it'd be quite the character switch if he turned out to be kind of corrupt, you know. >> that's the point of this show. >> like the good son, you know what I mean? >> This show always gives when they give people a position of power, they don't really handle it in the way like they started off. >> 100%. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, so I'm yeah, I'm watching that storyline close because uh yeah, there's just a lot there, you know. >> And then Damon's storyline Misaria >> he should use his position and his title and his name. And if, you know, he should be loyal to his dad and do everything in his power, but if if the time comes where it's his turn to step up and lead, I mean, that's just how this world is. You have to do it. I mean, not doing that is a dishonor to your father. So, I mean, in a way, he's kind of being a good son, you know what I mean? >> I like how Corlys still when um Damon was like, I guess what would you call that? Shell-shocked? >> Yeah. >> So, he was like just like, you know, just battling whoever because he was shell-shocked. I love how Corlys was still able to reel him in even though Corlys was was his prisoner. >> Yeah. >> I like that about >> how when they're sitting there talking, and then um I I forget the guy's name, the guy who walks around with Daemon the whole time. >> Oh. >> The nephew of Yeah, Gwyn Gwyn. I like how they're basically just ignoring him cuz he has like a baby face. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that part was funny. Deep down, me. Um So, it's just an incredible season in my opinion, guys. I thought the season was phenomenal. There's probably a lot we're missing on the recap, guys. We really do get into the story. We give it what we, you know, we try to give it everything we got in the reaction. And I don't really like to sit here and try to think of every nook and cranny that I can try to go explore cuz half of it is just me like talking out my ass. >> think team black has the upper hand going into season 4. >> Yeah, it's interesting. This was a really crazy third quarter. We got a fourth quarter, guys. We got a crazy fourth quarter coming. Um a lot of momentum by green team. And a lot of a lot of >> might pull off the injured reserve list. >> [laughter] >> A lot of like especially with like a Criston Cole and stuff, a lot of coming in second place, but in this episode, man, that was a I don't know. They kind of tied it up in my opinion. Like really the damaging blow is just the fact that no one likes Rhaenyra. And she has no support of the common folk, obviously. And um the show could have not have done a better job expressing that. >> what I also just thought about? Sorry to interrupt you, but like also Aegon and Aemond, even though if they team up to kill Daemon or whatever, then the Aemond still was alive with the knowledge that Alicent tried to kill him. Like she should never come back. Yeah. >> The only thing that's ever Maybe just maybe, which I don't know how the show ends. I mean, I know it ends in I don't know how the show ends. I know what happens to the dragons. Let me just put it that way. Um but in as far as like the people and the details, I have no idea. But what if Rhaenyra, Aemond, and Aegon do die? What if Rhaenyra just gives her a pardon and just lets her live out her days? >> Mhm. But what about them eggs? We're just going to We're just going to show them eggs for 2 seconds and then just forget about them? >> Well, they I mean, are those not the eggs that come along in Game of Thrones? >> I don't know. They look like it. >> I mean, there's no more dragons born after this. This is the The of the dragons. >> That we know of. >> I don't think there's dragons between this and there.
