a couple days in my life in my late 30s! errands, appointments & cozy crafting ☁️✂
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video begins with the creator heading to her salon at just before 9:00 a.m. to have her hair extensions removed after four months of wear, noting that her natural hair has become quite dry and tangled from swimming in the ocean. Although she initially felt the platinum color had gone a bit too far, the stylist managed to add some dimension back into her golden blonde look, though they could not incorporate new extensions because she had forgotten to order them beforehand. Following the appointment, she visits the Irvine Ranch Market for lunch, where she enjoys a turkey, cheddar, and honey mustard sandwich without lettuce due to concerns about mealy tomatoes, along with an assortment of British biscuits like chocolate hobnobs and jammy dodgers that she rates highly. She also samples dye-free Doritos and a cherry spin drift soda, deciding against getting her nails done later that day because she was too tired after hours of sitting in the hot car.
The following morning, the creator heads to the dentist for her first visit to a new office, expressing relief at how gentle and professional the staff were compared to her previous experience. Afterward, she runs errands including getting gas and stopping at a Whole Foods near a nail salon, where she purchases a variety of protein bars and smoothies to keep in her purse for convenience. Back home, she prepares leftovers from two nights prior, a step she admits is challenging due to her fear of reheating food, while enjoying her daily Diet Coke enhanced with True Lemon crystals. She explains the science behind chilling soda cans longer to improve carbonation before settling down to watch the lesbian show *Sterling Point*, which she finds cute despite some hesitation about its coming-of-age themes.
In the evening, the creator shifts focus to a cozy crafting session dedicated to junk journaling, aiming to catch up on pages she has neglected since June. She documents her process of creating pages for a Lizzie McGuire theme and a Hillary Duff concert, utilizing photos from recent events, stickers collected from coffee shops and Barnes & Noble, and even confetti picked up from the ground after a show. She uses tools like an HP Sprocket printer to create wallet-sized photos with sticky backs and a corner cutter to round out her images, incorporating Y2K aesthetic elements like pink backgrounds, washi tape, and rainbow sparkles. After completing two pages, she feels satisfied with her progress rather than feeling pressured to finish everything in one long session, eventually cleaning up her extensive craft supplies and organizing her junk drawer before making pineapple teriyaki chicken meatballs for dinner.
The vlog concludes with the creator and her partner Drew relaxing on the couch watching *Sterling Point* and scrolling through nostalgic Instagram Reels featuring music from the late 90s and early 2000s, such as Craig David and Beyoncé. They discuss how much they enjoyed the show's first three episodes and agree to continue watching it despite its mature themes. As night falls, she thanks her viewers for joining her in this slice of life that included salon visits, grocery runs, dental appointments, and creative crafting, promising to see them again in the next vlog after she takes a shower and goes to bed.

We did interview a late great day.
>> Good morning everybody. Welcome back to
another vlog. It is just before 9:00
a.m. and I am headed into the salon to
get my hair done today. I am, I think, a
little over four months out since I got
my KTIP extensions and I'm getting them
removed and I'm going to see how I feel
about it because as you guys can see, I
mean, my hair just got fried to all hell
like I don't know 8 months ago, 9 months
ago, something like that. So, I just
wanted to get a little bit to fill in
the front pieces here. And I mean it
starts like right here. And I've really
liked it, but over the last like few
weeks, it's kind of started getting a
little tangly right here. all of my
swimming in the ocean and all of that
I'm sure didn't help. So, I'm going to
see what it looks like. And then I also
think I want to add some more dimension.
I like the color of my hair overall, but
it's gone a little more platinum
recently as opposed to my kind of
typical like dimensional golden blonde.
So, I think I want to get back to that.
Yeah, just I think it's been a little
bit overhighlighted. And that's because
I've asked for that, by the way. That's
no one's fault. Um, and so yeah, I just
want to get a little dimension going and
then we'll see where we're at with the
extensions of it all. But anyways, we're
going to head inside cuz my
appointment's in a few minutes.
Hopefully, this will be a fun little
transformation that like I'll definitely
be able to tell the difference, but you
probably [music] won't.
[music]
All right, here's the hair. Oh, it's a
little staticky at the moment. Um, I
wasn't able to go as dimensional as I
wanted because I forgot that I ordered
new extensions, so they had to match.
But anyways, I'm done. And now I'm going
to have some lunch. I'm at the Irvine
Ranch Market. They have so many British
biscuits. They have hobnobs, digestives,
caramel digestives, dark chocolate,
digestive creams. I don't see any
custardy creams, which is devastating.
But they have lemon creams, ginger
snaps, walker shortbread, jammy dodgers,
apple and black currant flavor. Yum. But
I think I'm going to get a sandwich.
[music]
All right. Oh my god, it's so hot in my
car and it's just so hot outside that my
lens is fogging. Here's my Irvine Ranch
Market haul. This is a turkey sandwich.
I'm not getting lettuce currently. So, I
got a turkey, cheddar, pickle, and honey
mustard sandwich. Usually, I would have
lettuce. I'm not huge on tomato and I
couldn't see what the tomatoes look
like. And you know, sometimes they're
like mealy and so let's see what that's
like. The glare. There we go. That's a
better look at it. I mean, to me, that's
delish. All right. Cheers.
Mhm. Delicious. I saw that they had
these Doritos
that are like nacho cheese, but they
don't have dye. I don't care if food has
dye in it, but I was just curious if
they taste the same.
It pretty much tastes exactly the same.
Maybe like a little less flavored.
I mean, good to me. Sorry for the sound.
And then to drink. Oh god, I hope this
doesn't explode. I got a cherry spin
drift. They only had a big one.
Oh, that's lovely. It's like the perfect
little hint of flavor. Anyways, I got so
hungry sitting there for hours that I
was like, "All right, I need to just eat
now." I may potentially There's a nail
salon that's in this like same complex
and I may see if they have any
availability to just get a manicure
pedicure now cuz I'm already out. I'm
already having a me day. So, we'll see
what happens. It's much later. I didn't
get my nails done. I was too tired.
Decided to go home. We just finished
dinner. We had our Yorkshire tea with
our biscuits that we got today and they
were both delicious. The chocolate
hobnobs.
Drew liked them so much he started doing
a dance. He was like
>> in that intense shimmy
>> sound machine.
>> Also, how long do you brew your tea for?
[clears throat]
>> Oh yeah. What's the proper time? Because
Oh, yeah. Sorry. We're I've heard
everything from like 1 minute to 3
minutes. So Brits, let us know. No, you
did one in there.
>> I did like a little more than one, but I
was stirring it and I don't think you're
supposed to do that. Well, I think it
depends. I I saw someone that said they
want nine stirs and no more, no less,
and I was like, that's a little crazy.
They're very particular about their tea.
But yeah, let us know. Anyways,
chocolate hobnobs 12 out of 10. Black
currant and apple jammy Dodgers like 8
out of 10. The raspberry is like 10 out
of 10. And those were still really
really good. Like I love the chew in the
middle and they're really good for
dipping.
[laughter]
>> Okay, there he is. Anyways, now we're
watching Sterling Point cuz I saw people
talking about it and we want to watch a
lesbian show. Let's do it.
>> Let's go lesbian.
[music]
>> Good morning. It is the next day. It's
just before 9:00 a.m. I'm at the
dentist. I mean, could think of more
things I would want to do first thing in
the morning than go to the dentist, but
also I just like to get it over with.
So, in case you needed a little reminder
to book your next dentist appointment,
this is actually my first time going to
this office. I've been to a dentist
since we moved here, but I did not like
that dentist's office. It was not good.
So, we're trying out a new one. This is
similar to one that I used to go to in
Arizona. I think it's like by the same
people, but I don't have any jewelry on
cuz I know I'm going to have to get like
my X-rays and all that kind of stuff.
And hopefully, fingers crossed, we will
come back with no cavities. I think I
have the start of one though. That's
what they said at my last appointment
anyway. So, we'll see. Fingers crossed.
It's one of those things where you just
got to do it as an adult. It's like it
sucks, but you [clears throat] just got
to do it. So, let's do it.
[music]
Oh my goodness. Night and day difference
since my last dentist appointment. Like,
it went so well. It was so easy. They
were so nice. They were so gentle. They
were concerned about my sensitivity. I
got a free tote bag cuz it was my first
visit. Hello. I even got like a free
little, you know, they always give you
like a toothbrush and toothpaste and all
that kind of stuff. So, that was lovely.
And now I'm going to head and run a
couple of errands. I want to get my
nails done, which I meant to do
yesterday. I want to get some gas. I
want to potentially film a thrifting
video. That's not 100% yet. We'll see
how much time I end up having after cuz
I really kind of have some stuff to do
at home. So, we'll see. But for now, I
definitely need gas. So, let's go ahead
and do that first. [music]
[music]
All right, got that done. Going to get
my nails done. And I realized it's right
next to a Whole Foods. And I love a
Whole Foods. I really want to get like a
smoothie, maybe a little bar, maybe a
coffee. We'll see where the wind takes
us. [music]
>> [music]
>> Whole Foods haul. I ended up getting the
green and glowing smoothie which had
like banana, pineapple, spinach,
um, almond milk, flax seed, coconut
flakes, something or other. It looks
phenomenal. Like look how gorgeous this
is. So, let's give it a taste.
M. Really good. And then I I went a
little crazy. I got like five or six
different kinds of bars because I love
having a bar in my purse at all times.
And I've just been looking to branch out
and try different bars cuz they're just
really convenient to have in your bag.
And then also, they're one of the things
that my stomach tolerates pretty well.
So, here are Oh my god, I got so many.
Help. I got a turkey chomp stick cuz you
know, never a bad thing to have. I got a
couple of these 88 acres bars. They have
12 g of protein. They don't have any
kind of like protein powder in them. Um
the ingredients are just pumpkin seeds,
banana, maple syrup, brown rice syrup,
cinnamon, and salt. This is the banana
bread flavor. Did I say that? Then I
also got the fudge brownie flavor, which
looked delicious. I got a Cliff Bar cuz
I just enjoy those from time to time. I
got one of these Bob Bo chip oatmeal
bars. This is more just like a breakfast
pastry kind of thing. It doesn't really
have protein, but looked good. Then I
saw that the RX bar had a couple flavors
that I hadn't tried. The first one being
strawberry. That sounds amazing. So,
we're going to try that. And then they
have the nut butter and oat bars as
well. Dark chocolate peanut butter. They
had like a honey and oat one. And I love
any kind of bar with oats in it. So,
that's my bar my bar haul. I think this
is a paper straw.
It is. Uh [laughter]
I get it. I respect it, but drinking a
smoothie through a paper straw. Kind of
a nightmare. My wheel's crooked. Suppose
I could turn on my car. Anyways,
next up on the agenda is to get these
nails done cuz I meant to yesterday. I
may film a video or I may ask Alexa if
she wants to film that with me cuz we're
seeing each other in a couple days and
then like I could put that off.
Well, [music]
>> [music]
>> Okay, I'm home. I got a little blue, a
little bit of blue going on. I am going
to Oh, I'm heating up some leftovers
from like two nights ago, which is a big
step for me in my phobia and all that.
But we made some chicken, mashed
potatoes, and veggies. So, I'm reheating
that. And I'm going to make myself my
daily diet coke, which I love so much.
And actually recently I've been using a
true lemon or a true lime and it's been
so so good. I get a glass, put a lot of
ice in it because I'm American. We love
our rice. I'm talking that much. Yes,
it's necessary. I pour my true lemon
packet. We have orange ones, too, but I
don't know how I feel about orange in a
Diet Coke. It's basically just
crystallized lemon. So, like if you have
lemon, squeeze it in it, but stay tastes
fresher. Wow. Then I take my marinated
Diet Coke. If you haven't seen like the
science behind that, basically, sorry,
this is really loud. The longer you keep
cans of soda in the fridge, like the
better the carbonation is the can gets
frostier. It's honestly just better. We
got to do a little straw.
Let's give it a taste test.
Gets you right here. And it's perfect.
>> [music]
>> It's my favorite thing about lunch. And
there is my very simple leftover lunch.
Got a little barbecue on the side. Sweet
baby rays, of course. And there we have
it.
[music]
All right, it's later now and I am going
to do some junk journaling. I need to
get off my phone. I need to get off my
phone. Like I just want to do some
crafting. I want to chill. So that is
what we're going to do. just finished up
like a couple hours of computer editing
and then I sat here and scrolled for too
long. So, we're going to have some I
mean screen free other than like that I
need to print my pictures. But in case
you have never been here for a what are
we calling this? Car's crafting corner.
Um in case you've never been here for
one of those videos before, I love to
junk journal aka scrapbook aka I don't
know whatever you want to call it.
Honestly, I don't really know if there's
a difference between the two other than
like you collect trash for your junk
journal, but I also collect all sorts of
other things. I am trying my best to
like separate everything as much as I
can because I have not updated my junk
journal since June and it is now
[clears throat] mid August. So, I did my
little I think I may have vlogged this,
may have not. I'm not sure. But this was
my last page I did where I did my little
Mean Girls, the musical outdoor concert
night. I did this fun little day out
with Alexa, a date night for me and
Drew, like different coffee shop
stickers, and just kind of random stuff.
That's where we left off. So now I think
what I'm going to do is do well, I want
to do like a separate Lizzie Maguire. I
still say Lizzie McGuire, a separate
Hillary Duff concert page. I think I'm
going to do like a July. Then I'm going
to do Hillary Duff. No, wait, sorry.
Reainder of June. That's what it was.
Rea June. Hillary Duff. All of July. And
then I think I'll stop there. I could
probably do others. We'll see. So, right
now I'm picking which photos I want from
the Hillary Duff concert because, you
know, I have a lot. So, I'm going to do
my Mia's cartoon Lizzy photo. Obviously,
this selfie of me and Alexa because I
just feel like it encapsulates it very
well. Then I think this photo with
Hillary is iconic. And then the final
one, I will do the picture of the three
of us girls cuz we ran into our friend
Emma there. And I will do that as well.
Okay. So, while those are printing, I'm
also going to choose
which backgrounds I want for what
months. thinking for Lizzie McGuire. I'm
going to do I'm just going to keep
calling it Lizzie McGuire. I'm going to
do like a little disco ball and then
something just extremely millennial.
Like I'm thinking pink. Like I feel like
it just has to be some sort of pink like
almost maybe even this because this
feels like Victoria's Secret. Like that
feels extremely
early 2000s. So we'll do that. We'll set
that aside for that page. I think three
pages is ambitious, but I think we can
do it. So, as far as my junk, what I
have for June is a random donuts sticker
and receipt. I have the Goodwill bins
opening release party that Alexa and I
did the photo booth at. I have some
stickers from that. I have some other
beachy stickers and I don't remember
where I got them, but we did a beach day
at the beginning of August. Actually, I
think that was the end of July, so I
might save that. Um, so maybe I'll do
two July photos or pages. I don't know.
I have a sticker from the coffee shop. I
have two of the confettes. A couple of
you asked me if I saved these from the
ground of the Hillary Duff concert. You
better believe I did. And then I have a
receipt from I think it's back home in
Arizona or something. And then a photo
booth picture that my friend Emma and I
took. And yeah, I felt like I didn't
have enough stuff and now I feel
overwhelmed because I have too much
stuff. So, we're going to get going. I'm
also going to print some photos from
when we were back home in Arizona. This
one's cute. Definitely going to use
that. Sure. Let's do those two.
The way I always do it is I lay down the
background first just so that we have
like kind of the foundation of what we
want to do. And I will be saving this,
by the way, cuz that is so cute. I want
to use it on something else. Maybe I'll
even save that. You just never know.
Like sometimes you can even use the
tiniest little scrap for like another
project. So, we're going to glue down
our first page.
I think for the bottom one, I'm going to
rip it.
[music]
There we go. And then it looks like
this. And then this is our background.
I'm just going to start going for it.
I'm going to start cutting things out,
laying things down. Do now, think later.
I'm going to do this photo booth strip,
which is so cute. I'm so glad we got a
physical copy and digital copies of that
cuz it's adorable. Put a little Goodwill
sticker on there. And luckily, these
have little stickies on the back. These
um [clears throat] this is called the HP
Sprocket printer. And the photos that it
prints out, in case you haven't seen one
of these, they print out little like
wallet sized photos, but they have
stickies on the back. It's like a
removable backing and it becomes a
sticker. Do that. I'm cutting out a
picture of the felt art that Drew and I
made that's on the wall behind me. I
don't know if you can see that from here
actually, but here I'll show you. It's
so cute. It's like one of my favorite
things I've made recently. I even
included it in a favorites video.
It's a tiny frame. I'm freaking dead.
That's so cute. We went to Disneyland
with my friend from high school and her
son and that was really cute and fun.
I'm going to put a picture of that. And
then we have some random coffee shop
stickers. I'm cutting out Drews and my
coffees. We took a little coffee date
together in July. A little morning
coffee date at White Sparrow. I think I
vlogged it. So, I'm going to put our
little coffee cups next to each other. I
was listening to more of Strangers
today, by the way, by Bel Burton, the um
audio book that I'm listening to. I'm
scared for what's to come. Like, I am
genuinely scared for this woman. Jeez
Louise. All right. Cute. Is that all of
our junk we have? I think so. Drew got
me these stickers at Barnes & Noble one
day when we were there. They were $4.99.
He's like, "You want me to get you some
stickers?" And I was like, "Yeah." We
were getting books with like our nieces,
I think. So, obviously have to use some
of these. They're so cute. They have
like little vegetables and farmers
market cartoons and things like that.
And I think that's adorable. So, we have
like a little strawberry, some cherries.
These are so cute. You know, farmers
market things. Do a few of those. I'm
going to save them obviously for future
use. See what other stickers we got
going on here. smiley faces, hearts and
stars, and all sorts of stuff, flower
stickers,
more smiley faces. We'll do a few of
these little multicolored gems cuz I
love them. We'll also do a few stars.
Okay, cute. We'll use some Dollar Tree
letters.
Take one of these little strips, put it
underneath
June. There we go. Page one done. On to
the next. I've actually heard that it's
good to glue your pages together because
it makes it I don't know less it like
lays flatter, I guess, less bulky. I'm
getting down to the end with this one,
so it's just going to be bulky
regardless. But that's all right.
All right, I will do Hilda next.
I think you're actually going to fall
over.
Okay, for this one, I'm going to do my
little corner cutter. This thing is
awesome. You just stick your little
photo in it and it cuts the corners so
that they're round, which is really nice
cuz I used to try to freehand this and
it was the most uneven, wonky thing
ever. So, kind of a game changer. It's
getting very hot down here. The thing
that happens when I film these crafting
videos is that I reach a flow state and
then I forget that I'm filming and then
I'm sitting here in silence filming
myself. But anyways, if you guys have
been crafting recently, I would love to
know what you're crafting. I find it so
fascinating to see what people get up
to. Like, have you been making like I've
been sewing things, making clothes? Have
you been like making birthday cards or
gifts for people? I've been really
trying to do more like handmade things.
It just feels so much more I don't know
heartfelt and like thoughtful. So, I'd
be really curious to know what you guys
have been up to and what you've been
making. Going to do our really actually
quite dirty pieces of confetti that I
did pick up off the ground after people
walked on them. But, you know, you do
what you got to do. This one is not
really going to fit. So, I'm actually
just going to cut out the little text on
the actual butterfly that says, "I love
you." Cuz I just think it's really cute.
So, we'll add that on there. Okay. Now,
let's add some pizzazz. So, I'm
definitely going to need one of these.
These I use in like every single one. I
used it last time, too. It's just like a
little strip of rainbow sparkles that I
feel needs to go here. And also,
I need another one down here. Oh,
that already makes it so cute. It's so
weird narrating your hobbies, by the
way. Like, I'm just I'm still not good
at it. Sorry. Maybe one of these days
I'll just do like a silent um crafting
video or something like that where we're
just body doubling. I think that'd be
really fun. There's this kind of daisy,
very Y2K Lizzie McGuire movie that you
probably couldn't see that um washi tape
that has like daisies of all different
colors on it. So, I'm going to put that
on a couple of these photos for a little
pizzazz. And yeah, we just need all of
the Y2K things and like '9s, too,
because I think did Lizzie McGuire come
out in 99? No, I think it was like 2000.
We'll do some smiley faces. Of course,
some stars. I actually think it'd be
really cute to do these tie-dyed stars.
I think that'll really go with the
theme. Do a couple of those.
I think two [music] is good.
Maybe three.
Why not four? Why stop at three? You
know what I mean? Maybe a few stars. And
I think that's it. Just lots of stars,
lots of sparkles.
All right, there we go. Second page
done. I did Hill Duff cuz I just thought
that was cute. We got our cute little
photos, cute little stickers. I may stop
here. I think that might do it.
Honestly, I don't need to. Every time I
sit down to do like a hobby, especially
my junk journal, for whatever reason, I
feel like I need to like do a certain
amount or like get up to current. And
it's like I could just take 20, 30
minutes and do it like every day or, you
know, I don't always have to do these
big like 3hour sessions where I'm doing
10 pages. So, like I'm happy with this.
I think that that's really, really cute.
And I think that is where we will end
it. I have a little pouch actually that
I keep all of my junk journal stuff in.
So, I will just take everything I just
did
and save it for next time. I need to
find the refill for this label maker,
though. And then I will put the trash
away. And that's pretty much going to do
it. We're going to make some dinner. I
think tonight we're either going to make
sausage and peppers
or teriyak meatballs from Trader Joe's.
Those are really good. This is my little
Ziploc bag that I keep all of our scraps
in that I can just grab from if I need
like a tiny little piece or something
that's not that big. So, stick that
[applause] in there with the others.
This craft bag is so legit. There's so
many pockets and zippers and
compartments and velcro pieces and side
pockets to put everything you would need
for your crafting. You like to take it
on the go. It's really good for that. I
just keep it in the garage and then I
just grab it whenever I need something.
And then I just have all of my stickers
in one place. I have all of my like um
what do you call these? Like edge
scissors? Not sure. I have my little
edge cutter, edge rounder tool, and it
just folds up and zips like this. It's
so great. And then I put my printers in
the side. Poppy. Can't really see that
very well.
Oh, I forgot the glue stick. There we
go. We're all cleaned up. Then I just
fold up my junk drawer. Look at how
thick that is. I don't even know if I'm
going to be able to finish out the year
in this thing because did I start this
in 2025?
Yeah, I did. So, I mean, we'll see. But
I just stick that in the main
compartment and we're good to go. So,
let me clean up my trash, figure out
what we're making for dinner. We're
going to have more tea and biscuits, of
course, and we're going to keep watching
Sterling Point. I think we only watched
the first episode, but like it was cute.
I've heard lots of people talking about
how much they love it. So fingers
crossed we will feel the same. We ended
up making the pineapple teriyak chicken
meatballs. We have some rice, some
broccoli, and some Ted Lass. So
>> it's where it is.
>> It is so much later now. It's almost
10:00. Drew and I have been sitting here
on the couch watching Instagram res for
like an hour and a half. It's been
really nice, honestly. And we were just
getting so many nostalgic things one
after the other. It would be like Craig
David performing in 1999. It would be
like clips from Sister Act 2. It would
be like musical stuff, Lay Miz. It would
be like Beyonce's Bella like Coachella
performance. It like so many different
things over and over again. And it was
spectacular. Um I think we're on episode
three of Sterling Point now. It's pretty
good. I do feel like it's Drew said
like, you know, maybe a little too
coming of age for us, but I still think
it's cute and I need to give it a fair
shot before um I make any judgments. But
I mean, we're definitely going to keep
watching it. And yeah, just wanted to
end this vlog, say thanks so much for
hanging out with me. I am going to go
take a shower and go to bed, and I will
see you guys very soon in the next vlog.
Bye.
