Video summary
The video explores lucrative opportunities within the massive American golf industry by focusing on personalized, giftable accessories rather than competing with major manufacturers of clubs or high-end equipment. The presenter outlines a strategy for laser business owners to target specific customers with coordinated product bundles that are easy to customize and produce in small to medium quantities. By selecting items that are personal and practical, entrepreneurs can create unique value propositions that appeal to golfers looking for thoughtful gifts or professional tournament organizers needing branded materials.
Eight specific products are detailed as viable options for laser engraving, each analyzed for production cost, selling price, difficulty, and marketing potential. These items range from simple leather bag tags and scorecard holders to more complex accessories like stainless steel hip flasks, golf gloves, and even engraved towels that can withstand washing. The presenter emphasizes the importance of using jigs or magnets to ensure flat surfaces for consistent engraving quality, particularly on items with raised edges or curved shapes. Pricing strategies are also highlighted, showing how low-cost materials can be transformed into high-margin products through personalization, such as selling a set of golf tees or a divot tool kit for significantly more than the wholesale cost.
The core conclusion of the video is that success lies in choosing one specific customer niche and creating a single, well-coordinated offer rather than trying to sell everything to everyone. The presenter suggests combining several of these individual items into cohesive gift sets or tournament packages, which can lead to larger corporate orders or bulk sales at events. Ultimately, the advice is to test samples, get them in front of the right buyers, and leverage social media to showcase the finished products in their natural environment, proving that even a small laser business can capture a significant slice of this multi-billion dollar market with the right focus and execution.

Want to hear something crazy? The
American golf industry is worth $102
billion a year.
>> And while we're not going to start
making golf clubs,
>> we are looking at everything surrounding
the game like personalized gifts, golf
outings, golf trips, tournaments,
charity events, corporate outings,
wedding parties, and all the
accessories.
>> Yes. Now, you don't need a large portion
of the 102 billion industry.
>> You just need one product line and one
specific customer. Today we're going to
show you seven products that you can
make with your laser. We're going to
tell you how much they cost, how much
you can sell them for, and who you
should sell them to.
>> At the end, we're going to combine them
into three offers, including one of them
that could lead to tournament or
corporate orders. [music]
>> Now, we're not trying to compete with
large golf companies selling clubs,
shoes, or thousand launch monitors.
>> We're looking for products that are
personal, giftable, and easy to
customize. and that we can produce in
quantities from one to 100.
>> For this video, we've selected eight
golf items that are easy to personalize
and easily sellable.
>> For each item, we're going to be looking
for five things. What is it? What does
it do? How much does it cost? How hard
is it to produce? How much can we sell
it for? And at the end, we'll come back
and say how to market it and who to
market it to.
Giftable golf item number one, bag tag
and tea holder. This one holds about
five T's. We get this for about $210.
And the process is super easy. This can
be done in about 2 minutes in any of the
lasers. And because it's nice and stiff,
it goes in there no problem. You don't
really need a jig. It's pretty easy to
line up. You just make sure the the
strap is out so that it will lay flat.
It can be done on any of the lasers.
This one takes about two minutes. Over
on the F2 Ultra, it takes about 15
seconds. Once it's done, you can give it
a little wipe with a Magic Eraser or
some LA Awesome. And then, I mean, this
looks beautiful. I think you can easily
sell this between $10 and $15.
Now, you can personalize these. You
could sell these on Etsy or your website
or throw some funny sayings on them that
will catch attention, get people into
your booth at a craft show so you can do
your personalization on on the spot. I
think funny sayings and personalization
is probably the best way to go with
these bag tags. And these are great
impulse buys. Giftable golf item number
two is the scorecard holder. Now, this
one's a little bit more substantial than
the golf tea holder, but it has great
bundling potential. This one you open,
you put your scorecard on the inside.
Has a little pencil holder. You're going
to want to pay attention to a couple of
things here. When you engrave this one,
you're going to want to make sure you've
got the right orientation. You don't
want to engrave this one upside down so
that your pencil holder is on the left.
You want to kind of keep it on the right
because every most people are
right-handed. Lefties don't come after
me. Now, you're also going to want to
pay attention when you lay this in the
bed of the laser. It is going to try and
have this little raised area here where
it's been folded. So, we've been using
these little magnets to make sure that
they lay flat in the bed because
otherwise when it begins to engrave, if
it's trying to do it on an angled
surface, one side's going to be lightly
engraved and one side's going to be a
little darker engraved. And we don't
want that. We want an even engraving.
And it looks great. You got a large
surface area. You can engrave the front,
the back, and again, these are great
giftable items. They could sell
individually. These are definitely great
for personalization, but also to bundle
it with that bag tag is a great option.
>> Giftable golf item number three, the
golf ball holder bag tag. This one is a
little more intricate. It actually holds
two golf balls and four golf tees, two
on each side. Now, this is a little
harder to engrave. These cost about
$3.25,
but once you set up a process, we
actually set up a jig. So, we have
something that will insert into the
holder to keep it nice and firm and and
taut and give me an engravable surface.
Uh, we have a little piece for the back
to keep the belt loop nice and taut for
engraving. And then finally to get these
little flaps, we have a little jig that
this will lay in so that we can get nice
flat surfaces across the entire thing.
And again, this this leatherrett
engraves beautifully and it em minutes.
Takes about 2 minutes to do this
engraving. Here it is with the two golf
balls in it and the four T's. The T's
are also engraved. This sells for
anywhere like $18 to $25.
It's really how you get this in front of
the people. I'd do some social media
posts. Show it with the golf balls in
there. Pop them out. Show it in its
natural environment.
Show how janty this little thing is.
Giftable golf item number four is this
nice gift set. This comes in the tin
already and it has a divot tool and a
ball marker hat clip set. Now, what's
cool about these two? This is the divot
tool. This little piece here is magnet
on top here. It has a very thin, just be
forewarned, very thin piece of wood on
top that can be engraved or you can
actually kind of cut all the way through
the metal. We've done both ways and they
look kind of cool. Simple to engrave
these. The only thing you're focusing on
here with these is making sure that
you're engraving in a tiny little area.
So something like the F2 Ultra diode
machine does great in engraving, but we
have tested them on all of our lasers
and it engraves just fine on all of
them. Now, we purchased these for less
than $3. You can sell these anywhere
from $18 to 25, even $30 as a nice gift
set. You're going to put it back on your
hat clip here and your divot tool. Both
of them magnet in. Put it back in your
tin and you've got a really nice
personalized gift set. It's a whole gift
set.
>> Giftable golf item number five. This is
actually items. These are golf tees.
They're a lot like potato chips. You
can't have just one. Nobody just has one
golf tea. And you don't just sell one
golf tea. You're going to sell these in
batches. These are great for adding
perceived value to a bundle. It makes
the whole thing complete. We get these
for pennies. They're like a penny a
piece.
You could probably sell them each for
like 50 cents to a dollar. What really
makes these easy to do is a jig. Once
you have a jig and you have your file
setup, you can pump these out. The key
to having a good tea is using small
readable artwork. You don't want
anything complicated and you don't want
anything too tiny cuz it'll just burn up
and become unreadable. The key to
selling these, you sell them in batches
of 10. You sell them anywhere from $10
to $15 in a batch of 10, but like I
said, these are great for really
rounding out the bundles. Giftable golf
item number six, the stainless steel
powdercoated hip flask. This might be
one of my favorites because you can get
it for about $2. You can sell it between
$15 and $20 all day long. And these are
the easiest and look the best on any
laser. They look great on a diode. I'm
about to do it in this S1 right here.
And about 4 minutes, it comes out
beautifully.
3 minutes later, I'm ready for the 19th
hole. A little LA Awesome, maybe a
little magic eraser, but this thing
looks beautiful. It looked beautiful on
all of our machines. I really like how
that stainless steel stands out from
that black back there. This This is
great. I think I don't even think you
need to golf to have something like
this. Giftable golf item number seven,
the golf towel. Now, this is something
you may not have even realized you can
engrave on, but you can engrave on a
golf towel like this. We actually got
these on Amazon. I think they're about
$1.56 each, and we can order them in
bulk in quantities of a hundred. They're
super simple to engrave in your laser.
Now, I'm using a more highowered laser.
This is an 80 watt laser, but I really
wanted to show you that you can engrave
on these in any laser. You could use a
lower power diode all the way up to a
higher powered laser. If you're going to
batch these, you're going to probably
want to include some sort of a corner
jig so that you can engrave it, take it
out, put the next one in, and just hit
go. So, I'm going to add this to my bed.
I'm going to include my towel in here.
I did not remove the carabiner. I don't
have to do that. It engraved just fine.
I even engraving up near the carabiner,
it was fine. and it laid flat enough and
the engraving came out beautifully. And
what's interesting about this is you can
wash these. So you might be thinking,
"Oh, once I engrave it and wash it, the
design will go away." It does not. So
you can use it over and over again. Your
golfer can use it again. Wash it when it
gets stinky or dirty and you're good to
go. Giftable golf item number eight, the
golf glove. Every golfer needs a golf
glove. And this one is nice and simple.
I got these off of Amazon. Amazon
basics. They were a two pack for $7. You
could sell these anywhere from 20 to
$30. So, and they've got a nice plain
look to them. So, you can engrave right
here on the little Velcro tab here. Put
a monogram on there. The tricky part
about this one, you're not going to do a
ton of these at one time. You will have
to create some sort of jig if you do
that or use a camera. This is going to
be easiest with a camera. but laying it
down. But you don't have to have it,
which is why I'm using the S1 to show
you don't have to have a camera. It's
just going to be easier with a camera.
Now, you're gonna want to lay this down
and make sure this little tab is flat.
That's the tricky part. And I put some
magnets up here on other areas with on
on the glove so that I have a nice flat
engraving surface area. And here's your
personalized golf glove. It has a little
here we put someone's initials on here
with a little golf logo on it. This is
perfect. It's going to mean a lot. And
it's definitely got a very high
perceived value. Golf gloves are
expensive in and of themselves, but
personalize them like this. And truly,
you could sell these anywhere from 20 to
$30.
>> The golf economy is enormous, but that
doesn't mean you try to sell everything
to every golfer.
>> Choose one customer, create one
coordinated offer, and make it easy for
them to say yes.
>> Your opportunity is one personalized
gift
>> or a 100 tournament markers. But you'll
never know unless you make that sample
and get it in front of the right buyer.
>> Now, tell us which product of the seven
that we showed you today are you going
to try first and who you're going to
sell it to.
>> And if this video helped you find a new
niche, go ahead and hit that like
button. And if you're not yet
subscribed, hit that subscribe button

we try and send you a material you may
not have ever engraved on. Like in this
box, it was the golf towel. This is our
monthly subscription box. Each month we
have a laser lab live where you can join
us live where we engrave each of the
items in the box, show you what settings
we use. We test them on all the
different lasers and tell you all about
them.
>> Well, I'm about out of time. I really
have to put together a bundle that we're
proposing for a tournament. So, I got to
get going on my bundle. You got to get
going on your bundle. And we'll see you
next time where we'll do it, build it,
