Video summary
Julian Jenkins, a spiritual teacher with over two decades of experience guiding thousands through personal transformation, identifies five key signs that indicate an individual is undergoing a profound awakening process rather than experiencing a mental breakdown. He emphasizes that this shift often begins not with euphoria but with intense physical and emotional exhaustion from stimuli that previously felt normal. As one's energy recalibrates to align with their true self, tolerance for misaligned environments—such as draining conversations or unfulfilling jobs—drops significantly, causing what others might perceive as negativity or weirdness. Jenkins clarifies that this is simply the system rejecting static noise and demanding a more authentic reality, urging viewers not to fight these feelings but to recognize them as the first silent whispers of expansion.
The awakening process further manifests through heightened empathic sensitivity and an overwhelming influx of synchronicities. Individuals begin intrinsically sensing emotions and energies belonging to others in rooms they enter, which is described not as anxiety or over-sensitivity but as a newly activated ability to interface with collective energy that was previously dormant. Simultaneously, meaningful coincidences become constant rather than occasional; thinking of someone results in them calling immediately, or seeing specific numbers everywhere daily. Jenkins warns against mistaking every event for a sign while affirming that genuine synchronicities create a palpable sense of resonance and paused time, indicating an expanding awareness where the universe reflects one's growing consciousness back to them.
Perhaps the most overlooked yet significant indicator is spiritual grief over a life that has not technically ended. As old identities dissolve, individuals may feel deep sadness or nostalgia for versions of themselves tied to past careers, relationships, or habits that no longer fit their evolving truth. This pain stems from recognizing the gap between who they have been and who they truly are, creating an ache as the soul refuses further inauthenticity. Jenkins distinguishes this sacred grief from clinical depression by noting it often accompanies a strange underlying peace; if one feels simultaneously sad yet free while grieving these losses, it signifies that space is being made for the new self to emerge without needing to pretend anymore.
Ultimately, Julian concludes that recognizing these signs means understanding that you are not broken or falling apart but simply waking up to your true nature. This journey is inherently messy and confusing because there is no manual, yet it remains the most important experience one can have as they reset their factory settings from a place of performance back to authentic being. He encourages viewers to be kind to themselves during this transition, acknowledging that while full awakening is an ongoing process rather than a final destination, every step taken with humility and love brings clarity and purpose. By accepting these changes without catastrophizing or forcing oneself into unwanted situations, individuals can embrace their imperfectly perfect state and continue walking the path of growth supported by community and self-compassion.

Five signs you're waking up.
What if I told you that the confusion
you're feeling right now, the
restlessness, the sense that something's
shifting, but you can't quite name it.
What if I said
it isn't a breakdown,
but it's a breakthrough.
I'm Julian Jenkins and I've been
practicing med mediumship and I'm a
spiritual teacher now for for well over
20 years and I've guided more than
80,000
students through this exact moment. I
still stumble over those numbers. I
wonder why me? How can I help others
help themselves to live a happy balanced
spiritual life with clarity and purpose?
[snorts]
And that moment that we talk about when
life starts to feel a little different
and you don't know why. For me, there
are five signs that you're waking up.
And number four really is something that
nobody ever tells you or everyone ever
talks about. But let's talk about sign
number one.
You're physically and suddenly exhausted
by things that used to feel normal to
you.
Nobody warns you about this. Waking up
doesn't always start with light and love
and floating through the room. And I
always say this bugles at the end of
your bed with with Archangel Michael or
Raphael.
Maybe it has, maybe it is. And that's
fantastic for you.
But maybe you're just feeling that the
conversations you used to have and they
used to feel fine and now draining you.
The job you tolerated
feels absolutely unbearable. the social
situations you just used to get through.
Well, they feel like you're wearing
somebody else's clothes.
And here's the thing, this isn't you
becoming negative, which everyone else
will tell you that it is. [music] They
will say that you've changed and you've
gone weird and all of these things. This
is your energy recalibrating.
You're not broken. It's just your
tolerance for what isn't aligned with
who you really are
is simply
dropping.
Think of it like this.
You've been tuned to a radio station
your entire life
and now you're picking up a different
frequency.
And the old one, well, that's now just
static noise. your system is saying we
can't do this anymore.
We need to do something real.
And if you're feeling this right now,
and I am too, cuz we all go through
these different levels of awakening,
I'm saying to you, don't fight it.
Don't pathize it.
Pay attention.
It's that first silent whisper.
And then what happens? Sign number two
comes.
You start feeling things that aren't
yours. And this is a big one. This is
the one that catches a lot of people off
guard. When you walk into a room, you
intrinsically know there's something
wrong before anyone speaks.
You may be around somebody who's
smiling, who's full of beans, but you
feel their sadness. [music] You pick up
their mood. You pick up their energy.
You pick up the tension. It's not yours.
And this isn't anxiety. This isn't you
being over sensitive. This is you now
switching your empathic awareness on.
Switching on.
This is when awakening begins. One of
the first signs that you're opening up
is your energetic sensitivity. You're
starting to interface with other
people's energies in ways you never cons
consciously knew you did before
because nobody taught you how to handle
this. [music] It starts becoming
extremely overwhelming.
I go back to the beginning extremely
humbled by the fact that I've worked
with thousands and thousands and
thousands of students. People who have
come to me thinking that there's
something wrong with them.
They've been to the doctors. They've
been to therapists. They've had [music]
every test going. And the answer was
beautifully simple.
They're waking up.
They're waking up to a sensitivity
that's always [music] been there
but never allowed to come to the
surface. and certainly never allowed to
be named.
If this is you,
know that is this is your gift. This is
what you are here with. Everyone's got
the gift. Everyone has the ability to
breathe. Everyone has the gift. But like
any [music] gift,
we need to understand it and manage it.
And you're not absorbing chaos. What
you're doing now is sensing the truth.
Because you see, number three is
synchronicities are no longer
occasional, but they're constant.
You think of somebody, the phone rings,
it's them. You see the same number
everywhere. You hear a phrase in a
conversation and you read it in a book
an hour later, same afternoon.
And it's not once a week anymore.
It's happening daily.
This is the universe reflecting your
expanding awareness back [music] to you.
And when you start waking up,
synchronicities increase
because your perception
has widened. You're no longer
sleepwalking through your day. You're
present enough to notice the patterns
that have always been there.
And this is where I need to be real with
you
because this is my philosophy. still
human, still spiritual, still trying to
keep it real. Synchronicities are
meaningful, but they're not a
replacement for discernment. Not
everything is a sign. Sometimes a number
is just a number. I had someone come to
me once and say, "I keep seeing the
number 19 on a bus. Why is that?" And I
say to [music] them, "Do you live on the
bus route of number 19?"
But I say that with a little bit of jest
because there is a difference.
A genuine synchronicity creates a felt
sense of resonance in your body.
A moment where time seems to just pause.
It's not your mind making up
connections. It's something much deeper.
A deeper recognizing, a deeper truth.
And if the synchronicities are stacking
up, you're not losing it. Your awareness
is expanding.
And that's exactly what you should be
doing.
See, number four sign, you're grieving a
life that hasn't ended yet.
I said at the beginning, this is the one
that nobody talks about. This is the one
that nobody wants to talk about. And for
me, it's one of the ones that matter the
most. So, when you start waking up,
there's a grief that comes. Not because
someone's died, not because something
terrible's happened, but because you
feel the gap between who you've been
living as and who you actually are. And
that gap aches, aches, aches, aches.
You might cry for no reason. You might
feel very nostalgic for a version of
your life that you still technically
live. You might look at your
relationships, your career, your habits,
and feel this deep sadness. Not because
they're bad, because they don't fit
anymore.
This is spiritual grief.
It's sacred. It's part of you that knows
change is coming. And the old identity
is just dissolving.
And it needs to honor what was it there
before it can step into the next. Most
people hit the point and think, I'm
depressed.
And I always say this at this point.
If you're struggling,
speak to someone. Get support. [music]
There's no spiritual bypass for genuine
mental health needs. That's a chemical
imbalance. But if grief comes in waves,
if it's accompanied by this strange
sense of peace underneath, if you feel
uh simultaneously sad and free, then
you're awakening. That's the old self
making room for the new.
Let it
let it grieve. Let it go.
Sign number five. You can't pretend
anymore.
This is what gets real. And a lot of
people think this is the scariest one.
You simply cannot perform [snorts]
anymore.
The mask you wore at work, in
relationships, in social settings, it
doesn't fit.
And it's not that you've decided to be
authentic.
It's that your system literally [music]
literally won't let you be anything
else.
For instance, the small talk that feels
impossible. The people pleasing feels
physically painful. The version of you
that smiled and said, "I'm fine."
when you weren't.
I can categorically tell you now
that that version of you
has left the building.
And here's what I want you to hear.
This isn't you becoming difficult. This
isn't you becoming antisocial or
awkward. This is your soul
finally refusing to be [music] edited.
And when your awakening [music]
reaches this stage,
inauthenticity
becomes absolutely intolerable.
And that's not just an intellectual
choice, but an energetic reality.
Your frequency is shifted. And anything
that doesn't match it, guess what?
Creates friction. And this is where
relationships change. This is where jobs
change. This is where people look at you
and say, "You have changed."
And they're right. You have. But you
haven't become someone new. You've just
stopped pretending to be someone you
never were.
I say you've reset your factory
settings. You're going back to working
from here, not working from here.
You've stopped pretending to be someone
you never were.
And my point to you of all of these
things, if you've recognized yourself in
any of these signs, maybe all of them,
maybe one of them, then hear me when I
say this,
you're not broken.
You're not falling apart.
You're just waking up. And waking up
isn't always beautiful. It's messy. It's
confusing. It doesn't come with a
manual,
but it's the most important thing that
will ever happen to you.
I've walked this path and I'm walking
this path. We never fully awaken. You
can't be fully anything. You can't be
fully educated. You can't be there's
always thing things that we need to
learn and move and walk and talk. But
I've held a space for 85,000 people
walking theirs.
And if you need guidance, if you need
community, or you just just want to put
a comment into somebody who gets it,
guess what?
I'm here.
So, if this has resonated,
if this has hit you here,
then maybe you need to share it with
someone else who needs to hear it today.
Maybe you need to subscribe if you
haven't already subscribed. It'd be
wonderful if you did. If you want more
of this type of content, then hit the
subscribe button. There's no fluff, no
performance,
just my truth that I've walked and
talked.
And today I'm still human. Today I'm
still spiritual. Today I'm still trying
to keep it real.
And just remember this, okay? You, you
are enough.
You [music] are imperfectly perfect.
You are meant to be here, right [music]
here, right now. So enjoy the process.
Be kind to yourself. Don't beat yourself
up. Go with the flow. But realize this,
your energy changed.
Be humble. [music] Be you.
But be kind to yourself. And sometimes
just let it flow without having to
catastrophize it or put yourself into a
situation you don't want to be in.
As always, be love and give love. I hope
you've enjoyed it. Drop your comments
below. Tell me how you feel. Tell me
what's going on. I'll try and answer all
of them. But I'm here for you. I'll see
you in the next video. Take care.
Bye-bye.
