Video summary
The creator provides a comprehensive 48-week update on her hair growth journey, marking one year since she first noticed significant hair loss. She details the specific treatments she has employed, including liquid minoxidil applied to her center and left parts, oral minoxidil started in April, and various topical products like Revital Lash foam. A key highlight of this period is the positive feedback from her hair stylist, who noted a dramatic increase in hair thickness and density after just five days of treatment. The creator explains that while she previously needed root touch-ups every three months, her hair now grows so much faster that she cannot wait that long without needing maintenance, though she remains thrilled with the overall results and the fact that her scalp is no longer visible.
In addition to the positive outcomes, the video addresses some side effects and product adjustments. The creator admits to experiencing increased facial hair growth, which requires shaving her face twice a month instead of once, but she does not mind this change as she enjoys the process. She also discusses stopping the use of Revital Lash on her eyebrows and eyelashes due to the convenience of oral minoxidil keeping her brows full and the difficulty of applying products while managing other health needs. Regarding costs, she breaks down the expenses for her minoxidil and other treatments like K18 masks, noting that while some products are expensive, she manages them by buying backups during sales or using small bottles efficiently. She also mentions a change in her washing schedule, extending the time between washes to five days to accommodate the slightly dirtier nature of liquid minoxidil compared to foam.
The transcript concludes with a giveaway announcement and a heartfelt message to her audience. To enter the giveaway for two $100 e-gift cards, viewers must be at least 18 years old and comment using the word "autumn" in a sentence. The creator expresses deep gratitude for the prayers and support she has received, acknowledging that reading the comments on her previous videos was an emotional experience. She reassures her subscribers that despite a long break from filming, her channel is still active and plans to announce the winners at the end of the month. Throughout the video, she emphasizes that while she treats her hair well with specific products like ColorWow Dream Coat and K18, she avoids heavy styling products and heat, relying mostly on air drying except when necessary for activating certain treatments.

Welcome. I cannot believe it has been
one year since I noticed the the large
amount of hair loss that I had. And
today I'm going to be doing my 48w week
update. And what I will do, I will list
the playlist in the corner and then
below my video because I have four
videos that will explain what I've been
doing. so I don't need to go through
everything again
because that would be a very long and
pretty boring video. Today I'm going to
show you my 48w week results. I'm going
to talk about what I have used, what
I've quit using, the cost. I'm going to
share with you what my hair stylist
noticed and what my thoughts are. First
off, I had my roots touched up on August
4th. And then the video that I'll put in
or the photos that I'll put in was 5
days later. That's when I always wash my
hair. It used to be now it's 4 days, but
anyway, but for the for this video, I
did 5 days. I waited an extra day. The
part that I've been concentrating on is
this part, the center part, and the left
part.
That's what I've been treating with the
liquid minoxidil. And in April, I
started taking the oral minoxidil. And
I'll share my thoughts on that. I always
get my roots touched up every three
months. And when I walked into my hair
stylist salon, the first thing she said
is, "I cannot believe how thick your
hair has gotten." I had my hair I'd
washed it the day before and I had had
it pulled up and all she could really
see was the top of my hair. And that was
her very first comment. I sat down in
the chair. She combed through my hair.
She looked like the the only place I've
used the liquid is on the top, but she
looked all around because it was like
April, I think it was April 5th when I
started using the very low dose of the
oral minoxidil, which is prescription in
the United States.
She found a ton of hair hairs that were
1/2 inch long, one and a half and 2 in,
which be would be consistent with when I
started the oral minoxidil.
My overall thickness has improved so
much. She also noticed that my hair grew
faster. Normally when I go, I have about
that much root growth and I had this
much. So, the one downside, and I'll
take it, is I don't I don't can't go
three months, every three months anymore
without getting my roots touched up
because my hair is growing faster. It's
getting thicker, but it's still growing
faster. What I've noticed is when I wash
my hair, my hair is generally thicker. I
mean, it it it looks thicker all over
because it is, but when I wash my hair,
I can just feel
it's getting I can just feel the
thickness. Also, when I put my hair back
or when I put my hair up in a ponytail,
my ponytail is thicker. So, I'm I'm
thrilled. The ends haven't gotten
thicker, but I haven't been doing it
long enough. And I've let kept my hair a
little longer because I wear it up a lot
during this heat and humidity. One of
the negatives, I am seeing some more
facial growth, which doesn't really
bother me because I shave my face once a
month is what I've always done in the
past and it's worked really well. In
fact, I love shaving my face. I've used
the Shashedo brand for years and and
it's probably my favorite thing that I
do and now I have to do it twice a
month. And so since it's something I
don't mind doing, I that doesn't bother
me. The hair does go grow quicker,
especially the little wiry ones. Uh
they'll poke out quicker than they did
in the past. My eyebrows have remained
thicker, and I'll talk about that in a
few minutes. Um what has changed with
that. The dose of minoxidil I take is
the 1.25. It was prescribed by my doctor
and my cardiologist and
electrphysiologist are fine with me
taking the oral minoxidil and using the
topical on my scalp and because I use
very little but just because my doctors
are fine with it doesn't mean that yours
will be. It was a medication for blood
pressure and it was prescribed at a much
higher dose than the 1.25
back in the day. You can't beat the cost
of minoxidil. I've used up one full
bottle and that's two fluid ounces. And
what I use is the Kirkland brand and I
got it on Amazon
and it's the 5% men's. This bottle, this
2 oz bottle, I opened it on November
20th, 25. It was empty on June 30th,
2026. So it lasted 222 days.
I don't like their bottle. I don't like
their dropper. I put mine in a Timeless
bottle. Oh, and they do have a 50% off
sale and I uh going on I think until the
23rd of August. I'll put the dates
below, but they make the best bottles.
They have a glass dropper, glass bottle.
The dropper is in three parts, so it
makes it really easy to clean. So that's
what I use. And I use two drops. I part
my hair down the center and I put one
two drops. Move this over. Part it on
the left side. Two drops. And then I
massage it in. And I'm still using up.
And that add anyway that that's two
cents a day. Two cents a day for the
liquid
minoxidil. This is what I've used for
like four years. It's a Revital Lash
Cosmetics uh volume enhancing foam and
it's crazy expensive. I've never paid
this is $152 now. I've never paid that
much. I've always gotten it like 20%
off, but I'm just going to continue to
use this up and I use this in my right
part because I it I did get good results
with it. But I mean it's this has 288
pumps in it. I did I counted one time. I
can't believe I did, but I did. So, that
would make it like 52 cents a pump. So,
that's So, I'm not going to repurchase
it. It's been a really good product. I
do think it's a little cleaner on the
scalp than the minoxidil, and I'll talk
about that in a minute, but um yeah, it
won't be repurchased, and I'm thrilled.
I would not have tried the minoxidil had
it not been for L from the channel L is
for living. Oh, and by the way, Lle had
her channel taken down. She received
notification from YouTube that she put
something out that wasn't FDA approved
or something, something like that. But
she's lost all her videos and she had to
restart her channel. And her channel,
you can still look it up, Ellis for
Living, and I I can't remember the last
word, but I will link it below so you'll
be able to find her. But she told me
that it did not make her scalp dirty. I
had just heard so much about the
minoxidil and a lot of people use the
foam and I do think the foam may make
your hair a little bit dirtier than the
drop, but I just use so few drops. And
just a PSA, if like if my channel would
get taken down for some reason and you
wouldn't be able to find me or any of
your the people that you watch, it might
be worth following them on Instagram.
I'm not an Instagrammer. I've been
trying to put up a picture of when I'm
putting up a video. I mean, like a like
a little thumbnail. Um, and I don't know
my way around. I'll find notes that were
written like two weeks ago. If something
happened, I lost my channel. That's
where I would put the notification on
Instagram. So, you might want to check
and and make sure that you are following
your
favorite content creators on Instagram.
I'm Marielleen after six. And I think it
sounds like a prostitute, but they
wouldn't let me put the zero too many
little spaces. But that's what I am.
Marielleen after six. I have had to
change my washing my hair by one day
from using minoxidil versus when I just
did the revital.
What I do if I wash my hair on Monday,
I'll wash it on Thursday. I used to if
it was Monday, it'd be a Friday. So, I
let two days go in between because it
does get a little bit dirtier a little
bit quicker, but I am fine with that.
But for this video, I waited five days
so I could compare apples to apples. As
you can see in these photos, the
difference became more noticeable with
each update. There was definitely more
coverage and much less of my scalp was
showing. These photos are from my 36
week update. They started in August of
2025 to May of 2026.
And here we are one year later. These
two photos aren't lined up great and the
angle and distance are a little
different, but I think you can still see
the difference in the overall thickness
and density of my hair. But I'm really
really pleased with the results. I can't
see my scalp at all anymore. I used to
could see it all the time and it's been
really easy for me. I quit using it on
my eyebrows and I quit using the Revital
Lash on my eyelashes. I think the oral
minoxidil has kept my brows fine. I
don't have anything on other than I have
some clear gel to to tame my brows, but
it was in May and Jim wasn't doing well
and it was just really hard for me to it
wasn't worth me taking the time out to
go in the dressing room and do my
eyebrows and do my eyelashes. And I
thought I'll get back to that at some
point and I probably will if I need it.
If I don't need it, I won't. I'll just
keep going doing what I have been doing.
My lashes aren't as skimpy as they
normally are. I haven't used the uh
Grande Lash on them for probably a
couple of months. So, I'll just wait and
see. The products I use are the same
that I've used for ever. The first time
I shampoo my hair in the month, I use
the ColorWow Dream Coat. Just a regular
ColorWow dream coat. And on the front of
it, I have backup is purchased. So, what
I do, I buy these whenever I can get
like 10 times points or when Ulta has
their halfp price sale, I always try to
do a backup and I don't want to do
another one. When things were so busy
around here, I just needed all the help
I can get. So, I would write if I had
already purchased my backup. something
new that I've done and I did this
because my hair stylist of 30 years uses
this on my hair and on all of her
clients hair and it is the K18 leave-in
molecular molecular repair mask. I
bought the small and I use
three pumps on each side of my hair and
I marked down how many times I used it.
And for this little bottle, I got 18
treatments. So, if I got 18 uses from
this half an ounce bottle and it was
$29, it would probably be around 160 a
treatment. And I went ahead and I
purchased another one. Little $29
bottle. Uh but it's it's fine with me.
And I use this on the other times I
shampoo except for the first Sunday of
the month. And this is my second bottle.
And I've already used this one five
seven times. So I I'm marking I keep the
box and that way I can kind of I'll just
measure twice to see if I get the same
both times and then I'll I won't do hash
marks anymore. And another product from
K18 is the air wash spray. I talked
about this I think in February. And I've
used it a total of five times and it is
like magic. It's expensive. I had bought
the little bottle that I tell you it
came in handy when I really needed it.
It has a little agitator inside that you
shake it up and pro I think I
demonstrated this in February. So I'll
put I'll link that in my favorites. But
it's wet. I've done it a couple of
different ways and it worked what three
different ways I've done it. I've
sprayed, you know, just sections like
one pump in like maybe five or six
sections of my hair and then just kind
of worked it through and let it air dry.
I've also taken a clean dry washcloth
after I got the liquid on and it went
through my hair and that worked and I
blew it dry. So, I've been pleased with
all three ways and I may never need it
again. Who knows? But I'm really glad
I've got it. Jim used to laugh. He said
the more I always would say I'd rather
have it and not need it than need it and
not have it. And I always use the Kenra
blow dry spray. And I have a refill
already for this because I got it when
it was half price uh or maybe on Amazon
when they had Prime Days. But it's just
a lightweight um spray that it's
supposed to it does several things, but
it's supposed to make your blow drying
go quicker. My hair stylist uses this.
That's how I found out about it years
ago. But even if I don't blow my hair
dry, I usually only blow it dry when I
use the color wow because you've got to
use heat to activate it. But I just
really like it and it smells good and
it's not heavy on my hair. And the last
time I wash my hair in the month before
I wash it, I just get any conditioner
that I have. I am out. I used to like
the Shea Moisture. It came in a jar and
it it was excellent. But I had so many
like conditioners and things like that
that I've just tried to use up and I
just put it all over my dry hair, put my
hair up on top of my head and wear it
for a few hours before I wash my hair
and that is it. I don't use hairspray. I
don't use other products. I don't I may
use my Kalista tools to go through my
hair one time when I wash it, but I
really do treat my hair well. I try to
eat well. I don't use other products on
my hair. I don't use shampoos. I don't
use shampoos. I don't use hairspray or
styling products. And and I probably
should, but I just And heat. I mean,
once a month I'll use heat on my hair
and that's it.
I am a slacker.
And if you're still here, this is going
to be a giveaway. I appreciate you all
so much. I know I have not gotten to
reply to all the comments that
you left after my last video. I've read
every single one of them. I read them as
soon as they came in. I was able to
reply to a ton of them. But I will tell
you, it's been really hard going back
and rereading them. I will get I will do
it, but um it's just been hard. So, I
feel your prayers. I feel your support,
but I'm going to go ahead and talk about
the giveaway. Since this is a giveaway,
I won't be able to answer your questions
or reply to the comments. You need to be
18 years old or older. Uh, and that's
really the only requirement.

sentence and you can tell use any kind
of sentence you want, but the word I
want you to use is autumn. I'll write it

name autumn versus fall. I've just
always said autumn and I love autumn. So

section of this video. If you have any
questions or something you want to tell
me, just go to any video prior to this
and I will get back to you. And thank
you to all you that are watching my old
videos. You've kept me kind of relevant.
not relevant, but I mean I haven't died.
