Video summary
The video follows a trucker taking a break in Rymer, Minnesota, where he decides to explore the small town on foot before returning to his duties. He starts his journey by visiting a local Bigfoot gas station and admiring a historic church that has been in use for over a century, noting how impressive such longevity is compared to European standards. During his walk, he visits Reamer City Park, which features a playground dedicated to Howard Pushek, and comments on the unique fenced-off section of the equipment that seems designed to corner children playfully. He also points out the town's high school mascot, the Eagles, explaining the significance of the local eagle statue near the school.
After completing a one-hour walk covering approximately 3.11 miles or 5 kilometers, the trucker returns to his rig and prepares for the drive home by adjusting his suspension for night travel. He mentions that he has now walked every street in Rymer, finding it a refreshing change from his usual routine of exploring Brainer. As he drives out of town, he navigates through an area still affected by orange highway flowers and dark roads with limited lighting, relying on his familiarity with the detours to get back on the main road safely. He plans to refuel after arriving home since he is taking a scheduled week off, aiming to avoid unnecessary expenses like fuel costs during this holiday period.
The trucker shares details about his upcoming week-long vacation, which includes planned trips to visit family at a lakeside campsite and attending birthday parties for his daughter Brit, who is turning 23, and his son Micah, who is turning one. Unlike previous holidays that were often unscheduled due to maintenance needs, this break was intentionally planned so he could spend quality time with his family without work interruptions. He also reveals that both his truck and trailer are scheduled for safety inspections during this week, a decision made to handle all maintenance at once and avoid taking extra time off later in the month.
Looking ahead, he expresses excitement about returning to work after completing these errands and enjoying life with his loved ones. He acknowledges that while his vacation plans might seem similar to those of others, they offer him a unique opportunity to step away from the road and focus on personal milestones and family bonding. The video concludes with him ready to head home for about six and a half hours of driving, looking forward to celebrating birthdays and spending time at the lake before resuming his regular trucking schedule.

Yeah.
We're in
Rymer, Minnesota.
The Bigfoot gas station in town. Parked
old blue here. I'm going to go for a
quick walk around town and stretch my
legs a little bit. Get my heart pumping.
What a nice little town.
Oh, got some friends over there. Look at
this beautiful building.
Beautiful church.
Over a century they've been here. Wow. I
know you Europeans laugh at that.
That's beautiful.
100 years isn't that long to you guys in
Europe when you're talking about your
churches.
I understand.
But that thing that that thing has been
it said on the sign there that they've
been worshiping there for over a century
now.
Oh, here's another Bigfoot.
That sign there says park closed at
sunset.
This little park. You can't go in this
park after sunset.
Huh.
Well, let's go say hello to our friend
then while we still can.
You can tell he's friendly, but he looks
scary.
Right.
Huh.
Oh, says welcome Reamer City Park.
And we're back on Main Street.
Here's an old friend of the channel,
the Reamer Eagle. Remember this is the
place with this like playground with
this weird fenced in area that comes all
the way out to here. And I don't know
what purpose this fenced area has other
than to like corner someone and give him
a massive wedgie or something cuz they
can't get away.
This is in memory of Howard Pushek.
It's pretty cool little playground in
here though. Just I'll never understand
that corner section over there. Right
now we're going to go down this street
here.
That is an awesome playground.
It's awesome. Just
walking around the school in town.
Gone two, just over two miles already.
Got one more mile to go.
Then I'll be happy. By that time, it'll
be getting dark and the mosquitoes will
be coming out.
All right, just got back.
Let's get that air conditioning blasting
full blast.
Okay. So, uh about an hour walk, just
under an hour
and I made it how far exactly?
Uh okay. So, it was 52 minutes
and I did 3.11 miles.
5 km.
Not too shabby.
Air conditioning.
So good.
So I did every street in town. I walked
down every street.
Turns out if you walk every street in
Reamer, Minnesota, it's exactly 3.11
miles.
That felt good. Hopefully we can get
another one in tomorrow. Let's
get ourselves back out onto the road.
And we have
another hour or so to go.
When I was walking past the school,
>> uh, I realized what the Eagle is for in
town there. They're, uh, high school
sports team.
It's called the Eagles.
So, that's what that's about.
>> In 500 me, turn left onto State.
Well, Brainer is still infested with
these orange highway flowers
growing everywhere.
500 meters. Use the right lane and turn
right ontheast.
>> Got to go all the way around here. It
looks like they're making progress
though, right? I think it's hard to see.
It's all dark.
I'd hope they were making progress.
At least I know my way around this
detour now. It's going to be weird once
everything opens up again.
I've gotten used to this.
And there's the golden arches sitting
there all tempting. Trucker Josh,
look at my curves. Trucker Josh, look at
my arches. Trucker Josh, you want a big
man?
Come on.
>> Not today. We are going uh to turn right
right here.
I was thinking about doing my uh walk
here in
>> Brainer Street,
>> but uh I've never explored Reamer
before, so it was nice to take a little
walk around town. I saw the whole town.
I've done a few walks here in Brainer,
sort of exploring a little bit.
I'm sure we'll do more if I can create
this new habit again. And well, it's not
a new habit. It's
>> bringing back an old habit of walking
for an hour every day.
I go up and down with that.
Heads up there, buddy. I'm coming.
>> Thank you.
blanking.
Are there no street lights down these
roads or what? These are dark
neighborhoods.
Oh, there's a little street light off on
the right. That's all they get. The
whole neighborhood.
Don't have very many lines. Then they
got this here, but that's cuz there's
this mall right to our right.
There's the gate right up there. We got
one truck. That's Glenn parked over
there. He's waiting to be unloaded
tomorrow morning. I decided to park back
here out of the way. I'm going to let
him get unloaded first in the morning,
obviously. Oh, and you guys got stuff
all over your lens again. You guys, you
are hard to keep up with. Still there,
huh? Well, let's try this. Aha.
Then we will use the other lens.
So yeah, this is a kind of mismatched
load. You can tell it's kind of all over
the place.
Little bit of this, a little bit of
that.
But we got it here.
You can hear the suspension just
adjusting. I just put that rear axle
down for night. So that's just the
leveling valve you're hearing.
There we go. That's it for tonight.
Another quick run tomorrow. Pretty much
we're just unloading and uh that's it.
That's a wrap for uh work
for a little while. I got a week of
holidays coming up and we got uh we got
a bunch of stuff planned. I'll film some
of it for you so you can tag along as
well. See what a trucker does on his on
on a vacation. I mean, everyone's
different, but I'll take you along. Why
not? You guys want to come see what I do
on other days when I'm not working, when
I'm on vacation.
Probably the same things you guys do.
So, thanks for hanging out everybody.
I'm going to get myself a little treat
right now and run over to that gas
station
and get like a bag of trail mix or
something.
Something not too unhealthy, but
something nice.
I will see you tomorrow. Take care.
Thanks for watching.
I'll see you tomorrow. Right. You're
going to be here. I'll be here.
We are all cleaned up.
Ready to go.
Ready to go home for some holidays.
A week off with the family.
While I'm on holidays, my truck and
trailer are going in for a safety.
Getting them both done at once. The
truck is due by the end of the month.
Trailer's due by the end of October, but
I'm just going to get them both done at
the same time just to
get them both taken care of so I don't
have to take extra time off later at the
end of October. And then every year from
now on, they'll just both get done at
the same time at the same place. It's
just easier that way for me.
Whoa. Almost dropped you guys. Careful.
Hang on.
It's your fault. Hang on.
Okay, everybody.
Let's rock and roll. Try not to slam
your door. Let's rock and roll.
It's about about 6 and 1/2 hours of
driving from here to get back home.
Maybe seven hours. But we won't be
stopping for fuel, nothing like that.
Straight home. I'm gonna fuel up after I
go back. So, I'm gonna have a smaller
check coming up cuz I'm taking a week
off. So, I'm going going to uh
try not to add extra expenses onto it
like fuel right now. We'll worry about
that later after we come back to work.
Usually all my holidays are unscheduled,
right? They just happen to
be time off because my truck's in the
shop or whatnot. This time I actually
scheduled these. I scheduled them on
purpose because on Saturday, which is
tomorrow,
is Brit's birthday. She's turning 23
again.
And on the 31st is Micah's birthday.
He's turning one. It's a big one. Well,
they're all big ones, but his first
birthday is a specifically special one,
just like Theo's was. So, we're having a
party next Saturday for him.
And then during the week, I believe
we're going to the lake. We're going to
my uh parents campsite, I believe, and
uh spending some time there. We're going
to Tinker Town, spending some time
there.
Where else are we going? And uh oh yeah,
we have a few things to get done during
the week, like a few errands and stuff,
but other than that, the rest of the
week is just going to be sitting at home
enjoying life.
Heat. Heat.
