Video summary
The video documents the creator's celebratory week in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, marking her 30th birthday with a trip to the Four Seasons resort. It is her second time visiting this location for her birthday, and she expresses deep affection for the destination despite the intense daytime heat that requires light clothing during the day and warmer layers like cardigans at night. The vlog captures her excitement about finally leaving the comfort of the resort complex to experience horse riding on Arabian horses, an activity she had planned for years but was unable to do previously due to vendor unavailability. She notes that this year's experience is particularly intense, as the local instructors push riders into deep water quickly, contrasting sharply with the more relaxed pace she is used to in England.
Throughout her stay, the creator reflects on the importance of disconnecting from digital life and embracing a state of rest. She admits to feeling restless and guilty when not being productive or constantly checking her phone, noting that this trip was unique because she managed to go four days without touching social media beyond recording content. This break allowed her to de-stress and gain perspective on her life, reinforcing the idea that travel can serve as a form of therapy. She shares personal anecdotes about her changing relationship with fear, such as her childhood bravery in shark-infested waters versus her current caution, illustrating how aging brings wisdom but also a need to consciously overcome hesitation to seize opportunities.
As the trip concludes, she shares heartfelt messages with her family and friends, emphasizing that age is merely a number and celebrating the start of her thirties with gratitude. The video ends with a birthday celebration featuring a cake, dinner, and gifts from her best friend in London, creating a warm atmosphere of love and appreciation. In her final thoughts, she offers advice to those approaching their thirtieth birthday, encouraging them to avoid comparing themselves to others and instead focus on competing with themselves to ensure continuous progress. She concludes by reminding viewers that the ultimate goal of life is happiness, which comes from finding inner peace and living in the moment rather than worrying about the future or dwelling on past regrets.

>> Give it a twirl, girl.
Oh, yeah.
Turn around. Don't be shy.
>> [music]
[music]
[applause]
>> I'll put up the night.
I am 30 first.
We are in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. It's
my birthday week. I'm turning 30.
I'm here to celebrate.
Ooh la la.
>> [music]
[music]
>> Arabian nights.
>> [music]
>> Room, room. Mimi Mum's car.
It's only like the second [music]
full day of my holiday, and I'm already
sad that it's going to end one day
because I just love it here. It's my
second time coming here for my birthday,
and it is [music] like in this week is
the week where the weather changes in
Egypt and it becomes [music]
really really hot in Sharm el-Sheikh and
it's colder at night so that you need
like a jumper and jeans or like a
cardigan
over what you're wearing but in the day
it is boiling like this morning my mom
and dad had to leave breakfast early cuz
they were like I'm getting heatstroke.
The weather is gorgeous. This is where I
want to be [music] every year for my
birthday if I could choose.
Um the vendor that usually does horse
riding with the hotel that we're staying
at which is the Four Seasons by the way
um is not working this year. So I really
want to go riding on my birthday to the
beach. I did it last year and I really
loved it so we're going to try and see
if we can
make that happen. So we've just come to
the lobby
and yeah.
You know what I miss in this vlogs where
I just used to talk in my vlogs and I
miss that because chatty vlogs are what
YouTube is all about. So I'm going to
film more chatty chatty vlogs.
What are you doing now?
>> Hello. Trying to learn Arabic.
>> But also we're trying to figure out the
horse riding situation. I have to
message my colleague cuz he is Egyptian.
>> He's been there.
>> Yeah.
And he is um helping me speak in
Egyptian to like horse riding vendors in
this country.
>> Your favorite flowers are there.
>> I love those flowers. Are those
sunflowers?
Are the white ones hydrangeas?
I don't know.
>> I love anything long stemmed though.
>> You like lilies. How do you not know
what a lily looks like? Lilies are the
ones that are really long and shiny. Oh,
do you mean those ones?
>> Let me show you guys and you guys tell
us.
So I was talking about these ones
and then I thought she was talking about
ones.
And then my favorite flowers are pink
roses, which are these ones.
You've got to press the button.
You press this. And then now we have to
wait like a solid 10 minutes for this
ride to come.
And it will take us
down to the beach on this funicular.
I mean, it is very cute in the meantime.
And there's a little bus stop there.
Look at this bus stop.
But it's not really in the shade.
It's so beautiful.
I was wearing shorts, but I felt
suffocating.
So now I'm just wearing
a Ralph Lauren shirt.
I got this in a really exclusive
vintage store
in my house in my dad's cupboard.
>> [laughter]
>> Yeah, I thought he was Daddy's.
>> Let's go to the beach, beach. Let's go
get a wave. They say, what are they
going to say?
I like that our nails match. What's your
ideal thing to do like on vacation?
>> Nothing.
>> But you get bored, so you don't like
>> I get very restless, so I need to jump
in the sea, come out, sit I could sit on
the beach, on a sandy beach, and just
watch the waves, and just be mesmerized
by them for hours. Like do you remember
in St. Lucia, I was just like or even
here yesterday, I'd jump in, come out,
jump in, come out.
But I can't sit and do nothing. As in I
>> You're very restless.
>> Yes, but I could sit in the sea and do
nothing.
It's weird, but I can't sit poolside and
do nothing.
>> See, I could lay in the sun and do
nothing. I like to read sometimes, but
>> I like to drink.
>> Yeah, I don't mind drinking in the sun,
but like I need to be on the vibe. Like
today I don't feel like drinking. Do you
feel like drinking?
>> I always feel like drinking.
I love cocktails. Like I love pina
coladas. However,
I feel guilty. It's like having full fat
coke or full sugar coke.
I feel guilty. There's certain things
that I feel guilty about that I can't
help.
>> as an I love a good croissant and I will
only have a good like pain au chocolat
at You're not going to call me a
croissant.
>> Do you put butter on yours?
>> No. I only have pain au chocolat on
holiday.
>> Guys, I love nuts. Like peanuts,
pistachios, almonds.
>> Ooh, here's our ride.
>> Hello.
I should have sat in the front [music]
so you can see.
>> [music]
>> The bike all the way down, all right?
>> Yes, please. [music]
>> Yes.
>> We're going to crash with this [music]
person.
And we didn't crash. I don't know if
they're with us.
>> [music]
>> There is a bit of a tip. You need to
like
>> [music]
[music]
[singing]
[music]
>> Come on, guys.
>> Thank you.
>> Good morning.
>> Today is
Saturday, yes?
>> Friday.
>> Today is Friday?
>> Yes.
It is a overcast day today in Egypt.
But
it's okay.
But
you can still burn
as you can see.
>> [laughter]
>> Say hello.
>> Hello.
>> This [laughter] is This is on YouTube.
>> Really?
>> Yeah.
But we are still going to make the most
of
So, I think that I'm actually having
a really good time
switching myself off and I think my
screen time
is really low. Like maybe an hour.
Um which for me is unheard of simply
because even if I'm not on social media,
which a lot of days I'm not, at work you
use your phone for so much. Like I look
up like guidelines for um what drugs to
prescribe uh or what treatment protocols
to follow or
>> I use Spotify for music.
>> Yeah, when I drive to work you you can
use
apps. Yeah, look at this. So gorgeous.
Beautiful.
And this little
They have these all over the resort to
take you down.
>> Take you to the beach beach.
>> Let's go get a wave.
>> Wave wave.
>> What they're going to say? So, yeah.
It's like
really nice to be somewhere peaceful and
doing nothing. So, I was having a harder
time switching off.
>> You need to switch
>> Yeah.
Because I feel like you feel this need
to constantly be productive, which I do
as well.
Like I have an infinite to-do list and
this is free time.
Right? So, it's really hard
naturally to
like stop yourself from taking off
things from your to-do list, you know?
But at the same time
when you
>> Yes, because you have your I had I read
this thing where it said you have like
your most productive thoughts when you
travel and a lot of people saying travel
is like you can compare it to almost
therapy in terms of like you could go
away for
um a break and come back and you can
make some big life decisions because you
have perspective on your Yeah, on your
life back home.
So, I think that actually
it's good for your brain to force
yourself to switch off.
Um and
I think cuz I've had a few consecutive
trip
I can flick off
easily
>> Mhm.
>> now.
>> I think with me it takes a little while.
Not to switch off, but just to recover.
Yeah, because my job's people facing
and it's overstimulating.
And so, when you stop, you're still
running.
>> Yeah.
>> So, it's important to just
give it a little while.
>> Agreed.
We're going for our first horse ride
of this trip.
Ooh, do, do.
Ooh. [crying]
Me and Sonia dressed like twins down to
the shoes.
I'm so sunburned. Tell me how in
overcast did I get burned? When I had
SPF
I had SPF 50 at breakfast and I topped
it up with 40 after.
But anyway, you have to leave the
complex. This is the first time we've
left the complex
of resort.
Since we got here.
And be careful cuz you fell here last
time.
And this is our first time leaving.
Yeah.
On the way back we found a shop.
Basically, we've done this holiday
before, but we've learned to do the
horse riding sooner.
Yeah, we're going to go back tomorrow as
well.
And I'm excited. I haven't been on a
horse in ages cuz it's too cold in
London.
They will. I think it's too far to go to
the beach today unless you don't want to
do a 2-hour ride.
Yeah, it's true.
Guys, I feel like we should have bought
a water.
Yeah, now it's in my hands. What's like
a life lesson that you want to share
with the world?
>> Take water.
>> [laughter]
>> Horse riding or exercising.
>> Nothing else?
Tell me one thing and one thing only.
>> I feel like my one's very cliche though.
But I feel like you should do
everything that So basically, I don't
want to say the cliche thing of like
live life like today's like your last
day and all that. However, I do think
that what you should do is
think to yourself that what is it that I
really would love to have said that I've
done in my life
and do it. You know, and if you
if you can afford it at this point in
time, do it. If not, then
>> Work towards it.
>> Work towards it, you know?
>> So, basically like YOLO.
>> Yeah.
>> Like I told you mine.
>> Yeah.
>> You can quicker get back a million
dollars that was stole than a word you
gave away. If you open your mouth and
tell someone your secret, do not expect
>> If you can't keep your own secret, then
how do you expect others to keep your
secret?
>> So, if something leaves your mouth,
be prepared that it will be shared.
>> Yeah.
Mine
>> wash blood out with cold water.
Irrelevant. Sorry.
>> Okay.
>> But with cold water, not hot water.
It'll come out easier.
>> because of our scrubs, guys, not because
we're like murderers and we're giving
advice.
>> Hello.
Egyptian people so friendly.
Um mine is today.
Cuz I have so many quotes I could buy.
But I think opportunity
is on the other side of risk. And when
you're younger, you take so many more
risks because you've had less balls, so
you're less afraid. And when you get
older, you get more afraid. And you just
need to
behave like you're younger again. Like
clear all risk from your mind. And just
jump, you know?
That's my mind for the day.
>> I thought Asal was me and she was
smiling and I thought I was smiling in
the camera.
>> The amount
of times I used to jump in this sea
in Egypt, which was
shark infested.
>> Oh, yeah, you're so you're so scared of
sharks.
>> And the week before it, yeah, there was
like a shark attack and I just be like,
"Oh, whatever. That was a week ago."
Pow. And now, I feel like obviously the
older you get, the wiser you are.
And then
I'm like, "Oh god, I'm scared."
>> I run the other way.
>> I feel like I'm I'm more yellow.
>> You were such a chicken as a child.
>> Yeah, you were.
I'm more yellow.
>> are so. I don't see you going on fun
fair rides now.
>> I go on fun fair rides now.
>> There's nothing fun about fun fair.
Sorry. Rides.
Rides.
Yeah.
>> I think where we're going is like
somewhere along here.
Oh, I see you with the cabinet key.
Guys, the name of this horse riding
place is called Al Ways. Was that what
it was called? Al Ways? And it's at the
Concord.
It's not the most glamorous, but their
horses are really good.
Much faster than the school horses that
we ride.
>> Poor little Billy.
>> Billy in his pink shoes, pink orthopedic
shoes.
>> No, Candy's the scary one.
>> Oh, Candy's Candy's the one I had a fall
on.
>> So, he fell off Candy. And then, the
first time I rode
>> That's when he fell off Candy.
>> This is I had Candy. And they were like,
"Oh, this is Candy." And I thought, "Oh,
god. This is the one Sef he fell off."
>> She's just crazy.
>> Spirit is really nice.
>> Oh, Spirit's beautiful.
Tego's gorgeous. But the the horses here
are like Tego and Spirit. So, Arabian
horses are really famous for like
A like um competitive riding and also
cuz they buy through like
>> They dance
>> deserts and stuff. Yeah. So, if they do
dressage cuz
um Arabian dressage is beautiful.
>> They're the most expensive of all the
horses.
>> horses. I don't think they're the most
expensive cuz there's there's different
types, but they are up there with being
part of the most expensive ones.
>> Apparently, how you can tell them apart
is if you were to smack the whip them
and then give them food, the Arabian
horses would
>> won't forgive you. That's what our
waiter told us this
>> Yeah, they would not eat.
>> Yeah.
>> They'd sulk.
>> Yeah.
>> [music]
[music]
>> It's the Sorting Hat from Harry Potter.
>> [music]
[music]
>> Here is my little outfit for tonight.
I'm actually wearing cardigan,
straight jeans.
I look more frumpy in the video than I
do in real life, but I'm actually
exhausted from horse riding, so I had a
coffee. It was so fun. We're going back
tomorrow morning for a sunrise, not
sunrise, but like a beach morning um
ride for 2 hours.
And yeah, everyone is in our room
congregated right now for some drinks,
and we're going to have more drinks and
dinner together.
Hello.
Sanam, you haven't said hi to my vlog in
a very long time.
What is one message do you have for the
people?
>> This is the lovely night we have.
>> Yes.

>> Lovely lovely day.
>> Any more messages?
>> I love everyone.

>> Happy birthday,
>> My birthday morning.
>> Bird central, guys.
>> I always feel like somebody's watching
me.
>> Look at the oohs, everywhere.
It was like this last year.
But where in the other restaurant we've
been sat where they can't come
cuz there's nowhere for them to park
where we sit. So I've been quite spoiled
the whole trip really.
Sana, what do you think of the birds and
the bees? I miss eating breakfast here
though.
Guys, oh my god, I've come back
to our suite and this
is the setup. My best friend has sent me
flowers from London. Those are the
flowers and presents from last night.
We've got flowers all over the bed. I
feel like it's my honeymoon. Honestly,
this is so beautiful. I really was I was
literally mid editing a TikTok
>> [laughter]
>> when we walked in and it is so
beautiful. I wasn't expecting it. The
riding was amazing. But Arabian horses
and Arabian instructors, it is a
different level to England. I actually
love it but like you are pushed into the
deep end guys. Like as in I was like to
my instructor, I don't really want to go
past and he would literally just whack
my horse and my horse was darting. So
you either hold on and you learn to ride
or you're out on the dust in the
It was incredible. I loved it. We had
such a great time. Need to fix my hair
and makeup and take a cute cute picky
and then I will be on my way.
This is so cute.
Da da da.
Happy Mother's Day.
>> It's a beautiful day for it.
So, it's our last day here in Thailand,
and I'm actually really sad to be
leaving, but at the same time really
excited to go back home. Like, this is
the first time in a really long time
that I've come on a trip and I feel
refreshed. And that is mainly because I
really for the first 4 days like really
didn't even touch my phone,
um apart from to like record content. I
didn't connect to social media or
anything, and that really really helped
me to relax and de-stress. But also I've
had so much time to reflect, and I feel
like
some of you have been asking me for
advice on turning 30, what would you
like advise yourself in your 20s? And I
think when you like when you're coming
up to turning 30, you're very
reflective, and sometimes you can be
really positive, sometimes you can be
really harsh on your reflection. But
like I want to be positive on my
reflection in that like I have achieved
um so much, and I'm so grateful. And
actually I'm really grateful that I have
so much more I want to achieve, because
a life without ambition is boring, but
also like it gives you something to look
forward to and excitement, and no one's
perfect, you know? Like don't compare
yourself to me, don't compare yourself
to
I don't know, even my sisters and I our
journeys in life have been so different,
and we're from the same family. So, like
you can't really compare yourself to
anyone. Just be in a competition with
yourself, and that will make sure that
you always progress and always prosper,
um and that is how you get further in
life. But in the moment that you are
right now, you really have to like live
it and enjoy it. And uh sometimes that
can be hard, because you might not see
the positives or see something that you
want to
be happy about, but that is when you
have to go introspectively and see like
what is it that's upsetting you, work on
that and make yourself
more at peace cuz that is where you will
truly have happiness is when you're at
peace. And happiness is the end goal,
right?
Everything we do in our life is to be
happy. So, yeah, I hope that you guys
have enjoyed this vlog and that my
little bit of wisdom was helpful to
anyone who wanted it. And yeah, I love
you so much. Thank you for all my
birthday wishes. I'm glad to be back on
YouTube. I have a few vlogs that I want
to post, so I'm going to post them for
you as well.
