Video summary

In Mortal Shell 2's prologue, players can uncover numerous secret items that provide significant advantages from the very beginning of the journey up until reaching the Mars Keep. One of the earliest discoveries is a troll weed hidden directly behind the player upon starting to move; this item grants complete immunity to all damage, though its description humorously suggests finding 999 more units to learn additional effects, which is likely impossible. As players progress and acquire their first shell, they will encounter Aventrium, a crucial material used to upgrade weapons, alongside various gold pouches scattered throughout the initial areas that are essential for progression. Additionally, the game introduces "gloom routes," which allow players to collect gloom currency needed to level up at beacons, with these resources respawning after use at campfire-like structures called beacons. The journey continues through dungeon-like sections where cleansing corrupted beacons reveals hidden rewards and initiates the weapon upgrade process using the previously obtained meridian actuator. Along this path, players will find items like the common moonshine, which offers either health storage or damage reduction, as well as various seals that alter gameplay mechanics. Notable among these is the infinite seal, a high-risk, high-reward item that enhances parrying capabilities but requires completing specific training with an NPC named Cester Janessa. Conversely, players are strongly advised against equipping the slayer seal, as it disables achievements on the save file and makes the game significantly easier, potentially ruining the intended challenge for those seeking a standard experience. Further exploration leads to encounters with mini-bosses like the tainted vestage and the formidable tar golem, which drops valuable items such as the burn effigy to mitigate fire damage. The prologue also features secret areas accessible by breaking chains on pedestals or hitting specific walls, leading to locations that teleport players to later-game dungeons once unlocked. Upon reaching the Mars Keep, players gain access to vendors like Merrick, who provides map locations for key items such as the forgotten crossbow, and upgrade stations where Aventrium is converted into weapon improvements. It is important to note that while some areas contain enemies or traps like exploders that cause poison damage, careful navigation around these hazards ensures safe passage toward the open world. Ultimately, the early game in Mortal Shell 2 is filled with hidden treasures that streamline progression and prepare players for the challenges ahead. From the troll weed's defensive buff to the strategic use of seals and weapon upgrades, each item plays a vital role in shaping the player's experience before entering the main open world. The video emphasizes the importance of grabbing every gold pouch and Aventrium found, as well as utilizing beacons efficiently to cleanse corruption and unlock new paths. By following these guides, players can maximize their resources, avoid unnecessary setbacks, and fully appreciate the depth of secrets embedded within the game's prologue before facing the true test of the open world.

In this Mortal Shell 2 video, I bring you 20 plus items you don't want to miss from the very start of this game up until you do indeed get to the Mars Keep. So, I'm basically going over all the secret items within the prologue of this game. So, let's go people. How's it going, guys? My name is DPJ and if you do enjoy the video, leaving a like really helps out. And if you like what you see and want to see more, be sure to subscribe. Okay, so there are many items, some really really important from the very start of this game hidden away. And today guys, we go over everything I have indeed found which I feel you don't want to miss. So let's go. Okay, so literally guys, at the very very start of this game, as soon as you're able to move, there is a item hidden behind you. Now, this is a troll weed. Now, if you didn't know, I will state this item, I do believe, was put in here on purpose by the devs uh to literally troll us. It description states to find 999 more to find out what it does, although I doubt you will find that many. What it states it does do is make you immune from all damage. So, yeah. Okay. So, as you progress on, you'll come to the stage of getting your first shell. So to the left of this oblisk, after you've got your shell and your weapons equipped, there is indeed a very important material called Aventrium. Now this is an item used to upgrade your weapons. Now the more you have of these, the better, and there's quite a few that we will discover today. Okay, so as you progress on, you'll come to this point where you have to jump down. On your left here, behind some boxes is the first of many gloom routes. And I'm not sure if that's their name, but it's what I'm calling them. Gloom boots. Now, here, if you hit this thing, you earn that gloom, which is used to level yourself up. Now, these do indeed respawn upon you using this game's version of a campfire. It's called a beacon. So, yeah. Now, in this area, there are a few gold pouches. One in front of you, one to the right. If you follow this path, these are 100% worth your time grabbing. Can never have too much gold. So from the initial spot you jump down to, follow the short route and grab another vendum. And then go ahead and hit this other gloom route. Okay, so as you move forward, you will come to these stairs where you learn about your firearm. progressing up these stairs. After you take out these three enemies, on your right is another Ventrium. Okay. So, as you progress forward, you'll come to this point. We have to jump down. Here you will find your first beacon. So, this beacon, like every beacon, has to be cleansed. So, when you interact with it, select cleanse beacon. It then teleports you to like a dungeon-like place. Uh, in this area, there are rewards, some hidden, some right in front of you. Here, open this chest and get this meridian actuator. This is a massively important item you need to initiate the process of upgrading your weapons, which will soon come to So then progress forward within this dungeon. Take the lift down, take out the enemies in front of you, and then press this plate to remove a gate. This then allows you to cleanse the corruption. After you do this, guys, don't leave the area initially. Turn back and come and grab this other Ventrium. Then guys, head back to this thing what you cleanse this area with and return to the surface. Upon you doing this, on your left, you'll find a wel cap. This can be equipped to restore 20% health over 30 seconds or slowly refill health up to 20% depending on if you equip this thing as active or passive. So from this beacon, head right in this direction. You can take out enemies or run passes. It's up to you. Then once you come to this fork, go left and follow this path. Here there are enemies you may want to take down. But at the top of this sort of like hill is an item called the common moonshine. This will store 30% health or grant a 3% damage reduction. Then if you follow this path around, you'll come to another gloom. Then guys, jump down to your right at that fork where you'll find these exploders. It's best to hit these and avoid them because they will explode and cause poison damage on you. Round the back is sort of like cove. There is another welc cap. By the way, progressing forward slightly, you will come to another gloom route. Then guys, as you progress forward, you'll come to this mini boss, which I will say my recording did indeed fail, so I have no footage of it. But yes, it isn't too hard of a boss at all. Um, it just basically spawns in little things that blow up. So, avoid them and take him down. So, as you progress forward from this boss, you'll come to this point right here where there is another gold patch right in front of you, as well as another one of those moonshines to your right. Again, this was a part of that footage I did indeed lose. So, as you progress forward from this point, guys, you'll come to this bony root like structure thingy here, guys. If you beat the crap out of it, it drops you a a latter. This is another item used to upgrade those weapons. Then go progress forward to this bridge here. Take the enemies out or run straight across the bridge. It's up to you. Here though, what I will say is do not jump down halfway. Although you may be tempted. We'll come back to this point. Running forward, you jump down. You'll end up in this area right here where you'll see like bat creatures trying to attack you. Take them out. And here guys, are another two gloom routes for you to grab. Then guys, once you progress forward here, you'll come to this beacon. So, this is another beacon you do indeed want to cleanse. This one you just want to progress straight forward through uh taking out smaller ads, squeezing through this wall, taking down the big dude. And behind uh where you actually cleanse this place or remove the corruption, you'll find another item in upgrading your weapons. I'd already picked this up. Then guys, back to that beacon. And from this beacon, uh, go left and you'll come to this mini boss called the tainted, uh, vestage. This, I will say, isn't too difficult. You just want to avoid his grab. Try hitting him from his sides. Is pretty slow, so it isn't too hard if you do that. But he's got a devastating grab where it almost one shots you. So yeah. Upon you taking him out, he drops the burn effigy, which either cures burns and grants a plus 50 uh% burn mitigation for 30 seconds or grants a plus 15% burn mitigation. Up to you how you apply it as it passive or active. Also in Spoon routes and a laterite route. So yeah. Then guys, back to that beacon. Now here, follow this path uh to the left to the secret area. In here, guys, there's like crab like box enemies. Take them out and then you can pick up all of this gold. So, back to that beacon here, guys. Head right here. There is a jump pad, but you don't want to use this straight away. There is an enemy that spawns in here. You can take him out or avoid him. But if you come back on yourself, you'll find yourself another ventrium. Once done, whatever you do, use that jump pad. Okay, so here guys, just want to progress forward until you come to the tar golem boss. Here guys, I don't actually think you can defeat this boss. Uh, all I know is he kicked my ass and I still progressed from this point. progress forward and you'll eventually come to uh collect your first or which we'll talk about in a quick second. Upon collecting this, you also commune and teleport. Upon teleporting guys, here you get the rocks map, obviously handy, but you also want to follow this path behind you to grab this coin of Mammon. This will well can be traded for 500 coins. Here guys, you then just want to push forward and you'll come to this point right here. Here on the left, this building is indeed the uh devout chalice. This can be traded for 100 coins. You then guys want to progress and you'll come to the Mario Keep, your home within mortal shell 2. In this place are vendors, secrets, and more. So, let's go over a couple I feel you need to know about. The first NPC you'll come to is this big bird. She's basically the shell NPC who showcases to you the locations of shells within the world. But for you to actually reveal them, you need to collect and use glimpse. Now, if you progress forward, you'll come to a beacon which allows you to spend the accumulated gloom you've got to indeed level yourself up. Upon exploring this place, you'll find multiple rooms like the blessed meth's over egg room. Um, here you basically collect those eggs uh within the open world, bring them back here, and then get gloom for them and probably other things, too. Now from the beacon, follow this path to the training room. Here guys, there are a few things here for you. Firstly, a ventrum. Then guys, if you speak to Cester uh Janessa and complete her training, you earn yourself an amazing seal called the infinite seal. This is one of those high risk, high reward seals. Uh, in regards to the parrying feature, I actually love this thing. I think it's absolutely incredible. But hey, now within the same area is a secret room which you can get into by hitting a wall. Uh, once you come here, guys, you'll see like a chalice on a pedestal with four chains. Now, if you break these chains and interact with this chalice early on, you actually take damage. What I believe this is, it will teleport you later on uh to a midame to late game dungeon of sorts. So, it's definitely worth your time checking back in on. So, from the chalice, guys, follow the path to this other seal called the slayer seal. Now, this I will say, do not equip this thing. It indeed disables your achievements on that said save file that you are on. Now, it will make the game a whole heap easier. So, if you do want to make the game easier, which I don't think you'll need to do so, um you can do this, but it's up to you. Now, I will say, I cannot confirm this. I ain't even going to try it, but I read somewhere online that as soon as you equip this, guys, and if the game auto saves, it disables achievements instantly on that save, even if you don't even use it. So, yeah, don't equip it, guys. Keep that in mind. Okay, so from the beacon again within this place, follow this path to find Merrick, the NPC vendor, he will give you a map location of the forgotten crossbow. Pretty cool. >> Hey you there, you're that can also guys within this place find friends. He is a vendor. Well, he's the vendor that allows you to upgrade your weapons. Here, guys, you have to give him that mer actuator you got early on from that first beacon. This gets his machine working, allowing you to use it to upgrade your weapons. Then, guys, you can use this machine to indeed level up your weapons. But here, I wouldn't be hasty uh with your upgrade materials. I'd probably save them if I'm honest. And then, guys, it's all up to you. These are well it's basically the end of the prologue here. This is where you go into the open world. So yeah, those are all the secrets I found early game. If you've got one that I've missed, let us know down below in the comments section. Guys, you've enjoyed the video. Leaving a like really helps out. If you like what you see and want to see more, be sure to subscribe. And hopefully, guys, I will see you on that next one.
