Video summary
The video documents the creator's experience entering the beta for World of Warcraft: Classic Plus, specifically focusing on his decision to play an Undead Paladin instead of his usual Human Retribution character. He explains that while he is known as a "human retribution" player, he wanted to try something new and test the viability of an undead paladin during this specific beta period. The gameplay involves completing a series of unique quests designed to reintroduce the character to the Light, acknowledging the pain and struggle associated with being a Forsaken who serves the Light. These quests emphasize themes of redemption and overcoming internal conflict, requiring the player to heal injured guards and rescue frightened allies, effectively role-playing the difficult journey of an undead paladin finding their place in the Alliance.
As the character levels up, the creator provides detailed feedback on the game's mechanics, graphics, and quality-of-life changes introduced in this new version. He praises the updated textures and water rendering for successfully capturing the nostalgic feel of the original 2004 game while utilizing modern technology, noting that it evokes the authentic emotional experience rather than just a pixel-perfect replica. However, he also points out several areas needing improvement, such as the automatic granting of profession skills which he feels should be earned by visiting trainers, and the potential for leveling to become too fast due to numerous XP buffs and new quests. He suggests that mob health values might need scaling adjustments around level six to maintain a proper challenge, as the current damage output from abilities like Holy Strike seems disproportionately high against unadjusted enemy health pools.
Beyond the technical analysis, the video highlights significant behind-the-scenes developments regarding the game's infrastructure and development history. The creator shares an exciting story about meeting Blizzard founders Mike Morhaime and Amy Morhaime in person at an event, as well as interacting with Omar Lovingood, the legendary developer who solved the critical server loading issues that previously prevented Vanilla WoW from running on modern architecture. He also mentions encountering Shane Decker, the original creator of Warcraft, though he was unable to speak with him directly. These interactions underscore the monumental effort required to bring the classic game back online and the deep involvement of its original creators in ensuring its success.
Ultimately, the creator concludes that despite minor bugs and balance tweaks needed, Classic Plus represents the absolute best time for new players to join World of Warcraft. He argues that the current state of the game offers a perfect blend of nostalgia and accessibility, removing the barriers that once discouraged newcomers while preserving the core essence of the original experience. The video ends with the creator fully immersed in his undead paladin role, joking about adopting the decrepit mannerisms of an undead character to maintain total immersion, and expressing enthusiasm for the future of the game as it continues to evolve through this new beta phase.

Oh, okay. Here we go. Classic. Is it
finally time for me to get in? All
right. They need to change these frame.
They need to change these the male and
the female icons. Both all ugly. Change
them to the vanilla ones. Undead
Paladin. Here we are. Sand Jackson.
Sand Jackson goes hard. Sand Jackson.
All right. Here we go. Okay, chat. We're
finally getting in.
Oh my gosh, there's a lot of them. Okay,
here we go, chat. Quick little UI run.
We're finally here. We're finally in WoW
Forever. We're finally in classic plus.
So, here's the thing. I know everybody's
like, "San, you're the human
retribution." I know. But for the beta,
I think a lot of people want to see the
Paladin guy play Undead Paladin and try
something new. That's going to be the
strat. That's going to be the game plan.
We're going to go do some Undead Paladin
beta. I have two accounts for the beta.
I'm going to play some alliance
characters and stuff, too. Play on the
PvP server because that's what we do. We
always play PvP. We uh lead our guild.
That's what we do. We just we do our
thing, right? Whenever it launches, like
99% chance I'm going Alliance. So, he's
going to love it too much. Guys, I've
done enough hoarde with the blood elves
in Burning Crusade. Okay, I had to do
that for the arena, but now it's game
time. I'm not going to betray the
alliance. Okay, shadow priest harvest.
So, this is all pretty similar to the uh
>> our time will come
>> to the original launch, but then they
added some stuff, right? Like you have a
paladin trainer here.
>> It gives you everything up to seal the
crusader on the first paladin trainer.
>> Okay, we're level two. We're level two
quickly.
>> Paladin trainer rediscovering the light.
Oh. Oh, look at this. Look at this. Look
at this new paladin quest right here.
Look at this. Look at this. I'm proud to
welcome another newly risen paladin to
our ranks. As you begin to reconnect
with the light, you may notice the
certain abilities that were once second
nature to you may cause you considerable
pain to use now, particularly those
involving channeling the light to heal
yourself or others. The only way around
this problem is unfortunately to go
through it. Like any other muscle that
is atrophied, you must push through
exercise the flesh for it to return to
full function. Heal five injured death
guard with your holy light ability.
>> Beware.
>> Okay. Through pain comes resolve. It's
another quest. a difficult path. All
right, your training can now begin in
earnest. Paladin, I see great promise in
you. But take care not to turn away from
the light, even for a moment. Embrace
the pain it will cause you. The pain is
a crucible, and you will emerge from it
stronger than you ever were in your
previous life.
>> Okay,
hit him with a heel. Big holy light.
Holy light. It's so weird. Undid paladin
is so weird.
Level three, a light in the darkness.
New paladin quest. New Paladin quest.
Ready? Look at this other one. If you
remember but one thing, know this. Not
even death can stop the light. This we
have in common with all foresaken. We
have overcome with the living view is
their end. However,
some, even among our own, fear us. They
suspect we will smite them as some
monstrosity. In truth, our relationship
with undeath is complex. But we are not
here to hurt our own. Help me show the
others this. Venture to Night's Web
Hollow to the northwest and free the
freshly raised fools trapped by the
spiders there. Then they will see our
nature.
>> Trust no one.
>> No, I actually think the visuals they
did a good job. I I really do for the
most part. Not across the board. Like
I'm talking about like the new tech and
stuff they used. Actually good job. The
models are kind of
It looks grainier and darker in a good
way. It kind of does. Yeah. Okay. So,
let's turn in rediscovering the light.
Pain is nothing new to those who have
endured death. And as such, the forsaken
are particularly hearty to it. Pain has
a purifying property as well that you
should embrace as a badge of honor and
evidence that you are in fact still a
servant of the light despite your new
circumstances. Be well and walk in the
light once more, paladin. Okay, we're
doing all the paladin quests and also we
got some uh some judgment. Oh, big armor
upgrade here. Okay, more paladin quests.
Not all of our fellow paladins who rise
again are quick to acclimate to our new
reality. Some struggle to reconcile that
they are now in a way the very thing
they spent their lives fighting against.
These individuals often simply need a
kind gesture and a sympathetic ear.
Unfortunately, many others are quick to
turn violent. Find the frightened
paladin who fled into the hills directly
west of this chapel.
Extend a hand in friendship and lead
them back to the light if you can. Find
the frightened paladin in deathnell.
Continue your training. Lordon may not
be what it used to be, but our home
still needs protection from all manner
of threats, and it's time for you to go
out and face the world. Your next stop
should be the town of Brill in central
Tus Fall Glades. Go and meet with Sher
Stillwell there. She can see to your
continued training. One last bit of
advice before you go. Take extra care as
a paladin traveling through forsaken
lands. There are many in the dark lady's
service who distrust us and our
proximity to the light. Follow the road
east of Deathnell and to find the town
of Bril. Report to Shie Stillwell to
continue your training. Knights Web
Hollow. What's Knights Web Hollow? Yeah,
I've already gotten a few new quests.
Oh, here it is. Espan Jackson. Yes,
Espan Jackson.
He's like Joe Jackson, but worse.
>> What would you ask of death?
>> I am yours.
>> Scarlet Crusade Quest. Okay. A light in
the darkness. May this help exeutor Arin
and so many others see our true nature.
Much like in our past lives, we live to
serve our people, to protect them with
the gifts the light provides us. They
will see in time they are just as
valuable to the dark leaves plans as any
other.
>> Mara's last wish. You've done a good
deed. Although struggling against the
scourge. Wait, this is new. What? This
is new. Let us hope that Mara and Samuel
will find peace together in their final
resting place. As a token of my
gratitude, please take one of these
manuals I found. Why? What is these
retail icons? The hail brother. Pelt
collecting for beginners. Wild harvest
for herbalism. Mining for increase your
mining skill by two. Cannot raise mining
skill over 15. You will learn mining if
it's not already trained and you do not
already know two other professions. I
don't like this. Make me go to the
mining trainer, man. Make me make me go
learn it. Like it shouldn't teach it to
you automatically. I think you should go
to the mining trainer and then once you
go to the mining trainer, it shouldn't
teach it to you. It should teach like if
you know the basics from the trainer,
then you can learn like a it's like a
you know what I mean? They're adding a
lot of stuff that is like trying to keep
people from going to town, I've noticed.
And it's like, "Oh, you're low level.
You're already in town." It's like,
"Yes, I know." But it's it's the it's
about like starting that that sort of
behavior, you know? It's like it's about
when you're starting that behavior
pattern of like, "Oh, I'm supposed to go
to town." I do think the uh the quest to
give you two points in mining is cool,
though. I just don't like that it gives
you the training. You should have to
earn the train. You should not earn. I
mean, you just have to go go to the
trainer to learn it.
Oh.
Thanks, dude. Mining pick is handed to
me as I'm talking about getting getting
handed the training.
Okay, but you get my
Unbelievable. Hear the Brill Tavern
theme. Oh, here's Oh, frightened
Paladin. Hello, frightened Paladin.
Oh, what?
Bro, Ragre, will you invite me back?
Wait, there's instant layering. All the
all the layering is instant.
So, I leave party
and then I instant get put on another
layer. There's no there's no layer cool
down. Maybe that's a temporary that's
probably a temporary thing for server
launch. Yeah, people been saying EU
servers are are fried. Okay. Like was
not even loading the guys.
>> Sick. Coming to terms. Oh, I forgot. I
forgot to read that one. It's okay.
Okay. Tears fall pumpkin. Steal 10
pumpkins. Stealing a paladin stealing.
Wait, that's weird. I would never do
that. Finally, we're moving on. I think
this is my first I've never streamed
leveling an undead like this. Have I?
Yes, we have sanctity aura in its
baseline. Oh, true. I did. I did. Gordo.
Es Gordo. Richard Flair. Dude, this
guy's name is Ric Flair. Master one
weeds. Always got big hands and not good
at picking. Shut up, Gordo. Where do we
find the scarlets? Graphics field.
Graphics feel good for the most part.
Apprent cloth. Yeah.
Ah, what are these new icons? I don't
have a problem with new icons if they
match the art style. Which to be fair, I
think these do match the art style. Oh,
dude. Here's our first look at the new
water. Dude, first look at the new
water.
I actually think the new water looks
very good. And I am a purist when it
comes to the old water. Like I dude I I
do not like the retail water. I think it
looks like this like liquid metal. It
looks like mercury. But this
that looks better than most modern
games. It actually looks insane.
I don't I don't like that they did the
retail spell books. Like where do I find
my profession? Where's fine minerals?
Oh,
can I get an invite for a layer to SANJ
Jackson?
Thank you.
What?
I was in the Okay, it layered me in
combat. I was It did work. It worked in
combat. There's some Season of Discovery
items. What? Why?
Like where, dude? I think it's so fried
that blessing of Might is 1 hour long.
The reason why from a balance
standpoint, the reason why the Paladin
buffs were so strong is because they're
short. So when they get rid of that,
then it like justifies nerfing them.
Forsaken Bastard Sword.
>> What now?
>> The Red Messenger. Why is your last name
Jackson? I don't know. I was just typing
random names and somebody in chat in all
caps said, "San Jackson goes hard." And
I was like, "Yeah, you know what? You're
right." And then I pressed enter. Speak
quickly.
>> What would you ask?
>> Level six.
>> All right,
Holy Strike.
All right, moment of truth. We got to
see if Holy Strike's any good. It's
probably ass. 25% weapon damage plus an
additional two to four is holy. The
unders city. The ruins of Lord are on.
Oh my gosh. There's Deleran, dude.
There's Doran. There's Doran. And
there's fog.
Oh my gosh, look at the fog.
Wait, that's crazy. Minus one. Your
character doesn't know about Deleran.
Oh, true, true, true. Minus one. Minus
one. Minus one. No, no, no. Fail RP. The
reason why I'm going Undead Paladin, I
think it's important for me to test it.
And I also think from like an
entertainment standpoint, I think people
will think it's interesting to see me
play Undead Paladin in the beta. For me,
when it's real, like when it matters,
I'll probably go back Alliance. But when
it's game time, it's game time, dude.
Okay, so I'll say right now I mean I've
got to level six so far. I'm about to be
level seven. I got to say the feel of
the game feels pretty good. It's hitting
a point where a lot of people are
mentioning how fast I'm killing stuff.
The damage and everything is about
right. But now as a paladin at this
point I've added in an extra attack and
holy strike it doesn't do that much
damage. It's only 25% of your weapon
damage plus like three flat holy. But
with that being said and it's on a 12c
cool down but there's a lot of times
it's on cooldown when I'm running in
between mobs. So effectively that cool
down it's null. So like I'm like
jousting mobs and it's like joust boom I
nuke it. So it's like the first hit I'm
doing like most of health and damage.
That's why I'm doing so much more damage
I think. But in addition to that I don't
think they changed any of their health
values the mobs yet. And I think that's
something that's really important to get
right. I think they do need to consider
scaling the mob health up and I think
they said that they were going to do
that or they they they have done that
but I don't know at what point they
start. So maybe they haven't started
doing that yet but I think they should
start doing it probably around level
six. I mean I don't know what what other
classes get at different levels. They
should at least consider doing it fairly
early because I mean look look how much
damage that holy strike did. It was only
eight, right?
So it's not that much.
But I mean I I I think if they literally
had like like what this is 120 health.
Wait, could you see it? Could you see
the other people's health before
like I think if it was like 125 just a
little bit they start it. You know guys
at lower levels that kind of stuff does
matter. I also think yeah I am kind of
regening mana way too fast or so.
Something is going on.
Look these guys are taking this node and
I'm like okay I'll just refresh now. See
you later bozos. And then I just spawn
right in front of this thing. Elon husk
with nerfs to rise fury and holy shield
and gable blessing a king spam prop
maybe have quite serious threat problems
in a raid setup unless steal fury and
holy strikes holy damage is really good
scaling from spell power. Yeah. Hey all
that stuff by the way if it wasn't
apparent. I have a lot of very in-depth
conversations about that kind of stuff.
If you catch something that I have not
caught, which is very likely because I'm
only one guy and and I don't have like
enough time to look at every single
thing, reach out to me about it and I
and I'm going to forward it. The great
outdoors. Sit near Eleanor's Basic
Campfire by typing sit in the chat
window and wait until you receive the
boosted rest buff. Okay. Minus one RP
chat window. Wait, so what is this? How
long do I have to sit for rested XP?
Grants various camp benefits after one
minute spent in sitting near the camera.
You may also craft using trade skills as
long as you do not move.
Ah.
Oh. You gain the following camp
benefits. 10th. You receive a small
amount of rested XP. You can only
receive one of this effect per hour. I
worry if they they put too many uh XP
boosting things. Camping 101. Cooking.
Speak with William Pigman to learn to
become a cook. Mining load stone. What
is a load stone? erect a load stone that
allows you and others sitting nearby to
gain 12 increased melee attack power
exclusive so it does nothing. I do have
a little bit of a concern about the
amount of experience increasing things
or like things making you level a little
bit faster. A lot of the feedback now
keep in mind I'm not much of a leveler.
I'm not a huge fan of leveling. I like
playing at max level. That's me. But a
lot of the feedback I'm seeing from the
community and from a lot of other
people, there was a lot of hope that
maybe they would have made leveling
slower even or it take a little bit
longer to take to 60. Now, do I agree
with that? Not necessarily. But I think
it's interesting because on paper it
seems like there's going to be a lot of
opportunity to level much faster than in
vanilla. I don't think they should
really adjust it, right? I think if
anything, if it was a little bit faster,
I personally would be okay with it. But
it seems like there's a lot of little
things
>> that might make it faster. There's so
many quests now that it shouldn't need
so many XP buffs. That's another thing I
am noticing more quests. And if there's
more quests, it's like an N squared
problem, right? You're hitting this like
leveling speed from two angles. One,
there's like outright like flat XP buffs
that you can get. Like you get
percentage XP buffs or I just sat at a
campfire for 1 minute and once per hour
I get a bar of rested experience. So
those things really add up over time.
Now, couple that with the fact that
they've added like a thousand new quests
into Vanilla WoW. I think it really is
going to scale pretty pretty heavily,
and I am okay with it being a little bit
faster. That's my personal take. I'm
just surprised that they've added so
much given that a lot of the feedback
that I've seen is that they hope that
it's slower. Seeking refuge.
>> Oh, look at the Oh, I didn't even
notice. Look at the pal. This is the
paladin mount. Wait.
I'm listening.
>> All their eyes are messed up, dude. All
the undead's eyes. Look at the undead's
eyes. This guy's crosseyed.
Hold on. Does this look different than
the one that was posted on Twitter? So,
I think the data mind paladin undead
mount was the retail model of the mount.
Oh, this is only the level 40. It's not
epic. Either way, like this actually
looks very classic. Is it too cool
looking for a level 40 mount? Maybe. And
I also think when we're talking about
art design and direction and all that, I
do think that is something to consider,
but I don't think they're too far off
the mark with actually how it looks.
Like, I'll be honest, I thought this was
the epic mount. I said this was epic.
So, I just thought it was epic when I
first saw it. Continue your training.
Blessings upon you for aiding Dawnstone.
Our order is still taking root here, and
it would be devastating to lose one so
promising this time before his time.
Please accept this as a token of our
thanks. Would you ever take an interest
in our ways? Our monastery Bandarion
keep lies on the bluffs northwest of
Solid and Farmstead. We welcome all who
seek guidance in the light.
>> Do not.
>> Okay. You know what I think they should
do? They need to find a way to increase
the value of uh of Seal of the Crusader.
I think Seal the Crusader is lacking a
little bit. And I think with them
getting rid of improve Seal of the
Crusader and the Retribution talent
tree, I think that Seal of the Crusader
as it is is a little bit of a miss. I
feel like they need to do something
here. And I don't know what. I don't
have the answer to it, but they
definitely need to do something here.
Uh, I like taunt being tied to judge.
Now, I miss righteous defense because I
love righteous defense, but I think the
taunt being tied to judge, I think is
fine. Actually, do we have so many
quests to turn in? We're about to go
around the world. So, this is one of the
best feelings in the world. This is one
of the things that when you talk about
that right there, okay, the spectacle,
the power of the ding, right? Whenever
something whenever you level up and how
how that feels. But one of the other
best feelings is this right here. What
if you have a bunch of these quests to
turn in and you can just go around the
world.
>> Boom. Complete quest.
>> You got another one. Boom. Complete
quest. You pick up a new one. Boom. You
pick up a new one.
>> And I'm going to keep doing it. And when
when you're in a small area and you go
through and just boom boom boom. And
you're just seeing your XP bar. You're
seeing your you like zoom in on your XP
bar and you're just seeing the thing
just like ride up.
>> What is it?
>> Boom. Boom.
Oh, you level. And look at that XP just
roll on up. Level eight.
So cool. This is one of those things
that they just got right in vanilla WoW
in 2004.
Oh, interesting. Look at this. Hold on.
I just found out something interesting.
So, your seals don't affect your holy
strike, right? When I when I use Seal of
Righteousness and I when I cast Seal of
Righteousness and I use Holy Strike, it
does not proc off of it. Right? So, I'm
going to show you this real quick. I'm
going to hit something. I'm going to
show you my combat log.
Okay, so look at this. So, right here,
you can see Holy Strike right here
without a Seal of Righteousness right
next to it. Right? Holy Strike and then
melee. Right
now, check this out. Keep in mind, Holy
Strike is an instant strike that causes
25% of weapon damage plus an additional
two to four. Here's the crazy part about
what I'm talking about. When I cast Seal
of the Crusader, it gives you 32 melee
attack power. The Paladin also attacks
40% faster, but deals less damage with
his attacks. If I use Seal of the
Crusader, that 25%
becomes 35%.
Plus an additional 4 to 7 instead of 25
to weird, right?
Isn't that how we're going to bring
Crusader? No. Holy Strike is a new
ability. I don't think it's bugged. I
think it's I think it's tech. It's got
to do something with the attack power,
maybe. Here's the thing. In vanilla WoW,
there's a lot of interactions between uh
different abilities and stuff like that
for paladins and different ways to do
things that is not in the spell book.
It's not in the tool tip. This might be
something they did that was related to
that. We're like, "Hey, I I used steal
the crusader and then I want a holy
strike. I'm going to go ahead and holy
strike." So the crusaders up swing nine
holy. Wait, judgments are 40 seconds
now. Why? That's so long. That's like
unnecessarily.
Okay. Judging Judging Crusader on the
target
literally doubles the damage of Holy
Strike. Look at this. Crusader on the on
the target. Double Holy Strike damage. I
think we got the tech, man. Judge
Crusader hit with righteousness. Keep
crusader up. Holy strike for 19 damage.
Swap back right. Okay. Now, okay. Now
we're cooking. All right. All right. Now
we're cooking. I go crusader
judge. Boom. Swap righteousness for the
autos.
We're cooking, dude. I come in. I go
judge. Holy strike. Righteousness.
Huge.
Crusader.
Judge. Holy strike. Righteousness for
the next hit.
Yeah, that's big time. What is the swing
timer add-on? It's built into the game.
I convinced Blizzard to put in a swing
timer.
38 crit holy strike. Okay, dude. We're
figuring out the tech.
>> Beware the living.
>> Oh, thank you. Elixir of minor force. Is
that new? Oh, what? Minor arcade. Wait,
are these new?
Thank you. Yes. Look at that. Those are
new, dude. Five spell damage is probably
pretty good at this level. There's many
new things. Wait, that's so cool. A mana
well constructs a mana well that allows
you and others sitting right every 10
mana every 5 seconds. What's going on?
>> Oh my gosh, I didn't get parry.
>> Hammer of justice.
>> A sealed letter from a fan. Hello, Mr.
Jackson. I hope this message reaches you
well. I would like to inform you I'm
indeed interested in the SPAN frean
event that I heard rumors about attached
to the deposit. Okay, there does not
there there's no frean contest.
Where did you find that out? Dude, this
looks insane. Look at how Okay, the
thing they did right
there there's a lot to say, hey, they
got to work on this. They got to do
better here. They got to do better
there. whatever it is. But the thing
that Blizzard did right with Classic
Plus with Wow Forever is you've got the
feel, you've got the textures and the
feel for, you know, and it's not 100%
perfect, right? It's not 100% the same,
but it's very, very close to what you
had in classic with like how the trees
look and all that, but the way that they
applied like modernday techn Look at
that, Zeppelin modernday technology to
Wait, am I getting smoked? Oh, frick.
the way they apply the modern-day
technology to the classic game. It
didn't give you factual authenticity of
like the authentic vanilla feeling. But
what it does is it gives you the feeling
of authenticity. It's not about how it
actually was. It's about how it actually
felt. Whenever it was back in 2004,
2005, you were playing WoW for the first
time. This is what you imagined in your
head. It's not what you saw, but it's
what you imagined. That's where they
actually abs that is the 10 out of 10
absolutely nail it. Hit just complete
own 100%. I have a lot of little things
that hey they should do a better job
here. They should they should fix that.
They should change this. A lot of the
nitty-gritty but that this that solution
that they came up with without actually
modernizing the textures and everything
else actually hit the nail on the head.
I mean this is just beautiful, man.
So good.
They actually they actually cooked.
Whoa.
What the freak?
Holy.
Okay, this probably needs a little bit
of work. It This looks like the the
freaking highlighter factory or
something just got exploded. It looks
like my toilet in the What?
Let's see. Is there anything new for the
Wait, level 10 blues gemmed co. Wait,
they cranked all the Wait, what?
>> I need this more than you, I think.
>> Um, wait, hold on. Is crafting like the
play? Oh my Oh my go Oh, what the heck?
Everything is way better than it was. Am
I crazy? Blacksmithing is OP. Thank you.
Oh, yeah. We need those. Thank you.
Thanks. Bags. Any baggers?
>> What do we make the name of the guild
Beta Cox
for the beta? What do you guys think? I
feel like making the guild name Beta Cox
is so funny. It's just a meme guild for
the beta.
Our real guild is Crusade. Okay, we are
level 10, dude. We are level 10. We are
level 10. I'm going to try Holy Strike
first just cuz I think this uh cooldown
reduction is going to be a pretty big
deal for like jousting. Perry is a super
nice leveling talent. It's like a secret
OP leveling talent, but um just getting
that little bit of extra cool down. We
got blessing of protection. We're
cooking here, man. Seal of fury. So,
seal of fury is a seal from early
vanilla. WoW that was removed in the
patch 1.9 rework. They've reworked seal
of fury and put it in the game. So, they
got holy strike from the alpha, seal of
fury from before 1.9. Yeah. By the way,
if you guys are new here, uh I'm uh
Okay, I got to show you guys this.
Actually, if you guys are new here, I'm
a badass and my ego is through the roof
today. You know why? Because Mike
Moheim, original CEO, founder of
Blizzard, tweeted this. Okay,
so my ego is just through the roof
today. All right. Thank you.
Yeah, that's right. Yeah, ego chart with
rising trends. Yeah, today. Wait, that
was two days ago, guys. this whole bl
it's it's all a blur at this point. I
don't know what day is days. Is that not
sick though? Joking aside, people who
work at Blizzard have told me that for
years and it's like ah you know thanks
gez you know but like to have somebody
who used to work at Blizzard
>> and was I mean the CEO the founder tweet
that is like holy [ __ ]
holy
that's crazy. So what happened was uh my
flight got delayed on Monday and you
know who you know who hits me up
slasher. Slasher hits me up and he's
like, "Hey, I'm at this thing with a
bunch of old Blizzard devs. Mike Moore,
all them." And uh they told me to invite
you. Like Mike and Amy Morheim wanted me
to invite you. So I'm like, "Oh, no
shit." I'm like, "I'm down." So my
flight got delayed and I changed it to
like a midnight flight. Basically, I was
going to take a red eye. I ended up
canceling my flight. I'm like, "Dude, I
got to go freaking hang out with uh Mike
Warheim and everybody, right?" So, I go
and uh I I mean I've talked to Mike
Moran before and Amy Moran before, but
I've never met them in person. So, I'm
like, "Holy [ __ ] I I got to go to
this." So, I end up going and obviously
Mike is there, but you know who else is
there is Omar loading? Omar is there,
too. So, I'm there hanging out with Omar
and Mike Morheim and all these guys. You
know who else is there and I didn't get
to talk to him. So, by the way, if you
guys don't know Omar, Omar is the guy
who when he was at Blizzard, he is the
reason that classic exists. Literally,
he is the guy that found a you know you
we think you do but you don't or you
think you do but you don't. Jaylen
Brack, they said in the past that you
couldn't even load they basically I'm
I'm putting this in like super easy to
understand terms for two reasons. One, I
don't understand it. two uh it should I
don't think anybody really get the
specifics of it but basically they can't
load vanilla WoW patch 1.12 on their
current server architecture right they
couldn't get classic to run on on
Blizzard's current servers
Omar is the guy that figured out he's
the actual guy that figured it out
internally at Blizzard no this is guys
this is a bag
this is a bag it's gray now he's a he's
literally this guy's a legend why are
you touching it? I was pointing at it.
They're working on a new game. It's
called Shadow Stone, which is like a
turnbased uh strategy game cuz he's now
at Secret Door. It's a studio he's at.
And then Mike Moheim started Dream
Haven, which is a new publisher. And
then, you know, Secret Door is one of
the things. So, they're they're showing
off Shadow Stone and some of the stuff,
which is like Derivative of Sunderfolk,
which is their game from a while back.
So, I was hanging out with Omar and and
Mike, but here's the thing. I didn't get
to talk to him, but you know who I
really wanted to meet? I really wanted
to meet him. He was there. But do you
guys know who Shane Deiri is? Shane
Deiri is the guy who created Warcraft.
Shane Deiri was there, but I didn't get
to talk to him. He was in a conversation
with somebody and I was talking to Omar
and I was like, "Do you think I can meet
Shane?" And he's like, "Yeah, 100%. I'll
go get him." And then he went to go get
him and he's like, "I guess he left
early." And I was like, "No,
I want to meet Shane Deir so bad." So I
didn't get to meet him, but he was
there, too. Yeah. Yeah, that's the guy.
Yeah, this guy. Legendary Gathering. I'm
jealous. Oh, dude, it was crazy. You
know what's funny? I was I was trying to
meet up with Jeff Kaplan that morning
cuz So Jeff could meet I I was talking
to Jeff Kaplan and he had some time
before Blizzcon to meet, but I couldn't
meet him before Blizzcon because I was
hosting that big event that I was I was
I threw that big party. So I couldn't
meet up with Jeff on Friday. On Monday,
I was like, "Hey, do like do you want to
do you want to meet up on Monday?" Is
what kind of what I was thinking. But
then he was so busy because Legend of
California is going into beta this
weekend. So there it's not full beta.
It's a it's a beta like it's a play test
this weekend which I'll probably I'll
try and play it for a few hours but it's
hard right now with everything going on
in WoW. You know you have Mike Morheim
tweet out something like that about you.
It's like holy [ __ ] You know I got a
tank or DPS. Uh I mean I'm I do
everything just like my stream. Just
like the stream content guys. I'm all
about complete and total character
immersion. All right. I'm all about
complete and total character immersion.
You got to become one with your
character. Listen, I normally play the
human male Brett Paladin. I get it.
That's why I had to lose weight to play
some undead. All right? I had to lose
weight and I had to become decrepit and
sickly so I could play undead. All
right? You got to become one with the
character. Okay? You become one with the
character. That's how it works. Complete
and total character immersion.
Cannibalism next. Oh, I already had that
one down. Wait. Hey, man. So, let's
expand on that. No, I don't think so. I
think we're just going to skip that.
>> I haven't got all day.
>> Okay. Anyway, oh my gosh. Lay on hands.
Okay. See Fury. Hi, Eson.
>> Hi. I don't know if you remember me, but
I told you about how my mom cheated on
my dad in World of Warcraft with her
guild leader.
Anyway, I'm playing the beta now. Hoping
to make some positive memories.
>> Okay. Well, I would say this. I would
say be careful about what guild you
join.
>> Yeah, just be careful about what guild
you join, man. Would this be a good time
to get into WoW if you've never played
before? Hey, this is an actual public
service announcement. Unironically,
for the first time ever, if you are
playing WoW, if you are playing WoW for
the first time ever, I've always wanted
to play and didn't know when to start.
Are you going to be behind? Whatever.
This is actually the best time to play
other than 2004, November. This is
actually the absolute best time that you
could ever start playing WoW. And all
your worries about does everybody know
this? This is that this
none of those excuses are real anymore.
This is new. It's classic plus. This is
WoW 2. This is this is WoW forever.
Whatever. Whatever it is, there's
actually
a blown wide open door and you have a
chance to come into WoW and be learning
new things just like everybody else
who's played this game for years. But
now it's kind of like a it's like a
reset. It's like a soft reset on
everything.
Oh frick. A challenge. Oh frick. I've
been challenged to a duel
of the content. Thanks, dude.
H.
Ah, yes. We seem to be at an impass. I
can't interrupt you.
Oh. Oh. Run through. Run through.
Oh, I got the cancel. I got the cancel.
Victory.
Damage application. Silicon. Holy strike
feels fantastic. Yeah, it does actually.
Uh I think holy strike has a good spell
power ratio. Wait, this Wait, this staff
is sick.
We already here. Blessed be thy Sven.
Ah, yes. Indubitably my lege. The heavy
copper maul, the mighty weapon, the
mighty hammer. Ah, and to hand me the
heavy copper maul. I bestow upon you a
most noble and fair trade. The cracked
short bow. Yes, the cracked short bow. I
hope he's a zoomer and he thinks that
means it's good.
Thank you.
Enjoy Paladino. Thank you. I will big
two-hander.
Big big two-hander. Thank you, man. I
got this and this in one RFC.
Damn. Oh my gosh. You got stacked.
